BK,

I may have asked you this in the past:

Why do you continue to watch "horrid" movies when there are so many good oldies around?

If wife Sandy and I get 15-20 minutes into a terrible film, we turn it off and watch something else.

I value my time, and life is too short.

Stravinsky:  Symphony of Psalms

Monday morning greetings!  I did make it to the grocery yesterday and bought everything I needed to make lasagna.  Made 2 small pans instead of the usual 9"x13" and took the disposable one to sister-in-law Jayne, who's staying at her sister Judy's no-steps condo.  We had a nice visit and heard all about Jayne's broken leg and the 13-week recovery period she's been told to expect.

Behold the Hills of Tomorrow from Merrily We Roll Along

In college, I was in a conducting class and we could bring in music that we wanted to conduct.  I had purchased the published choral arrangement of "The Hills of Tomorrow" and brought it in.  I didn't realize it until I purchased that music that there was more to the song than just what was on the original Broadway cast recording.  It has a whole other section that made it a complete song.  Here's the complete song, just by another arranger:

Not one piece of music, but the CD Geistliche Chorwerke (Carus Classics) (https://www.carus-verlag.com/en/choir/sacred-choral-music/scarlatti-geistliche-chorwerke-carus-classics.html) (the original 1991 release was called "Sacred Choral Works of Domenico Scarlatti") has nine different choral pieces.  This was recorded by the Western Washington University Concert Choir when I was going there and was in the concert choir and I'm on this CD! :D

The colors are great, Jane. And if you look like a giant blueberry, then just change your name to Violet Beauregard.

I just finished a wonderful unabridged recording of Around the World in 80 Days read by Jim Dale. I first read the book back when I was in fifth grade. And then read it again five or six times. Hearing it after all these years was a surprise. There's very little by way of character development (less than in a Zane Grey oater), but it doesn't really matter. It moves along like the great adventure story that it is. And the ending, even though you know it's coming, still works.

The other day it was cold so I wore my bright green flannel lined wind breaker pants with the jacket.  I actually had to get the attention of a neighbor walking towards me.  She was rather blinded by my outfit and never looked at my face.

Has anyone read "Nobody's Fool" by Richard Russo"?  One of the women in my new book group requested a fun book for our March read.  This book is on my to read list and might be a good choice.

I started listening to the Villa-Lobos CD today, but didn't get very far into it before I got busy and distracted.
