Well, you've read the notes, the notes opened with a real rip-snorter, and now it it time for you to post until the rip-snorting cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TZIMMES!
-
Here's a topic - what are your guesses for tonight's Oscar show?
-
Hello
-
I am all alone.
-
'night
-
First post after
BK Jane.
-
Best Picture: THE SHAPE OF WATER
Best Actor: Gary Oldman
Best Actress: Francis McDermott
Best Supporting Actor: Sam Rockwell
Best Supporting Actress: Allison Janney
-
First post after TCB's second post after Jane's third post after BK!
-
Best Picture: THE SHAPE OF WATER
Best Actor: Gary Oldman
Best Actress: Francis McDermott
Best Supporting Actor: Sam Rockwell
Best Supporting Actress: Allison Janney
I could have made five posts out of that.
-
Tom, I found my CD to The Fantasticks! If you want, I can rip the one song and e-mail the MP3 to you. :)
-
Assuming you're not missing any other tracks. Do you have the other 15?
-
Best Picture: THE SHAPE OF WATER
OR
LA LA LAND
-
Tom, I found my CD to The Fantasticks! If you want, I can rip the one song and e-mail the MP3 to you. :)
Thanks, George, but I wouldn’t know what to do with it, if you sent it to me. Actually, I just realized that cut number 13 is also missing. That is “Round and Round.”
-
I thought the second act seemed very short.
-
They really have something against Rita Gardner. Or, as it says on the list of songs, Rota Gardner.
-
Well, then what I can do is make a copy of the CD and mail that to you. :)
-
Thank you, George.
-
You're welcome.
-
I found out the problem. If you go into Amazon’s. Digital music, all of the songs from THE FANTASTICKS are free to download, except those two cuts, which are each $.99 to download.
-
Best Director: Gulliermo del Toro
-
Page one? Really?
-
Amazon frequently does that with their "free" downloads - it's not all the tracks.
-
Just finishing up listening to a CD then it will be bed time.
-

How rude! >:(
-
George, you better hurry up and offer some Oscar choices. I may get all the way down to Best Animated Short before you join the party!
-
Best Adapted Screenplay: James Ivory, CALL ME BY YOUR NAME
-
Best Animated Film: LOVING VINCENT
-
Oh well, if you don’t want to play.
-
One more post.
-
Oh well, if you don’t want to play.
I just read BK's notes. ::)

Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Not even one award?
-
Not even one award?
Well, not right now. I have a union meeting today and I've been getting some things together for it. It should be done before the Oscars starts, so I'll probably post my predictions then. :) I just haven't been able to think about them now.
-
Best Short Subject: Michael J. Fox
-
George, you better hurry up and offer some Oscar choices. I may get all the way down to Best Animated Short before you join the party!
Having seen all of these I know which one I want to win, NEGATIVE SPACE. Keith and I enjoyed this very much.
-
Well, I've done pretty much what I can (and want to ;) ) do tonight. I'll do some other stuff later in the morning. The union meeting isn't until 2:30, so I'll have some time. And the meeting itself shouldn't take too long, so I'll be back in time for the festivities.
-
Good night and have a good day, all!
-
Amazon frequently does that with their "free" downloads - it's not all the tracks.
Still, TCB's "I want my money back! Except I think I downloaded it from Amazon for free" from last night is still best line of the week.
-
But is it best of last week or this coming week, given that it's Sunday morning?
-
They really have something against Rita Gardner. Or, as it says on the list of songs, Rota Gardner.
Rita had been married to Herb Gardner. Interesting that she took his last name as her stage name.
-
She married a very fine writer named Robert Sevra, who was one of the other songwriters in a class (there were 4 teams) at the ASCAP workshop. I gather they're still going strong these 20-plus years later.
Herb Gardner dated Marlo Thomas for a while, though I don't think they ever got married.
-
Best Short Subject: Michael J. Fox
:D
-
I am in the recliner enjoying a cup of decaf hazel it coffee, but I must go dry and coif my hairs and put on my face and go to church to set up coffeehour and assist at communion ( thankfully with a full repaired chalice)
-
Then I must hurry home for I must head into the Big Apple to see Subways are for Sleeping at the York with none other thanDR Chas
-
Perhaps we shall sup afterwards depending on his train schedule
-
The basement is dry but there are boxes everywhere as I was not about to restart them on the shelves just to unstack them again
-
And I am going through some of the boxes to see if perhaps somethings can be let go
-
Well I must away
-
Have a lovely day !!!
-
Good morning, all.
-
COFFEE!
-
Vixmom, I'm driving over to the "other" station where the train runs every hour, so no problem sticking around to grab something to stuff into our faces and wear home. :)
-
I have to use that station on weekends, as the one here (a local branch line) doesn't have nearly enough weekend trains for a decent day trip.
-
I got one of my second winds last night and stayed awake way too late. I might end up sawing a few logs on the train instead of reading.
-
I got an email that Met Opera On Demand is streaming The Exterminating Angel which I was disappointed to miss seeing at the movie theater last fall or whenever it was they did it live. I might have to weaken and do the free 7-day trial thing.
-
I wonder if they ever put up last year's Rusalka.
-
No idea when I'll be late getting back home for Oscars stuff. I'm sure that by then you folks will be on page fifty-three, give or take.
-
Well, that's it for me. I must feed the boys, and I hope they're really in the mood to eat. They were finicky as ALL HELL at last night's meal.
-
Good morning!
-
Page 3 before 8:30 am EST?
-
Speaking of EST, Daylight Saving Time starts next weekend!
-
Didn't mean to offend you, TCB, regarding The Main Event! I think I may watch it today.
-
BK: I don't know if you noticed, but Richard Jay-Alexander posted a link to HHW on Facebook yesterday to share your tribute to Harvey Schmidt. Maybe we'll get some new DRs!
-
Well, it was too good to last. Cable and internet are out. I'm using my phone as a "hotspot," so I imagine I'll be over my data allotment for the month.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I only hope James Ivory wins for best adapted screenplay.
-
I will be watching the Oscars (until I will most likely fall asleep). I haven't seen any of the nominees. I never seem to get around to seeing movies lately.
-
A few other guesses:
Best picture: Get Out
Best Actor: Gary Oldman
Best Actress: Frances McDormand
Supporting actor: Sam Rockwell
Supporting actress: Allison Janney
-
Good morning.
-
My prediction for the Oscars: It will run overtime.
-
I got up about 6 a.m. and feel like I slept in late today.
-
I honestly think I saw nothing this year. Can that be? Was I worse than usual this year?
Probably.
-
I must be forgetting something I actually got off my ASS to go out and see. Something, surely. But I have no idea what it was.
-
The smell of bacon is wafting through the house. Just in case y'all didn't know that.
-
And good morning!
-
Against the efforts of two hungry kitties, I refused to get out of bed until I wanted. And then their new cat good was not a success. They licked up all the gravy and left the chicken chunks behind, So, I mixed the remains with Gerber's chicken baby food and Thatch ate some of that. Annabelle's not buying it.
-
We tried a new food (whole different type) for Mikey, which he LOVED the first two or three meals he was given it. Last night he ate a little and refused the rest. There is no reasoning with these creatures.
-
This will be as Me & My Girl day as soon as I take care of my morning obligations. Val brought up the new litter last night, so the babies finally have some clean litter. The fastidious Thatch has been digging to China in that litter box for the past three days.
-
I just checked out that mid-week weather DR vixmom mentioned.
Damn it to HELL, snow all day Wednesday. As it stands now. We had better get our business done on Tuesday, DR Elmore.
-

The new dry food appears to be a bust as well. I can always give that to the pigeons.
-
Bacon's ready.

That's fine. My only committed day is Thursday.

Best Picture: THE SHAPE OF WATER
Best Actor: Gary Oldman
Best Actress: Francis McDormand
Best Supporting Actor: Sam Rockwell
Best Supporting Actress: Allison Janney
Based on everything I've read, I wouldn't disagree with these predictions, with the possible exceptions of THREE BILLBOARDS, which could very well pull off the Best Picture Award.
Some people think that THE SHAPE OF WATER and THREE BILLBOARDS could cancel each other out, making GET OUT the winner.
Not going to happen.
-
Of course, I've only seen THE DARKEST HOUR and GET OUT.
Also DUNKIRK, which will probably win some stuff.
The others are not out on DVD yet.
-
Good morning to all
-
As usual I have the oscars on tape and I will watch it by FF through most of the boring stuff a couple of hours into it.
-
For the west coast viewers what does ABC program after the oscars are over since they are still in "Prime Time"? Reruns of their usual Sunday programming?
-
It seems the Paul Zindel family has filed their lawsuit about the many and sundried plot similarities between the Zindel 1969 play and THE SHAPE OF WATER. Nobody questions the statement that Guillermo del Toro never read or saw the play, but then del Toro is not the one credited with having come up with the plot of the film.
-
It will be odd if SHAPE OF WATER wins for Original screenplay
-
Vixmom, I'm driving over to the "other" station where the train runs every hour, so no problem sticking around to grab something to stuff into our faces and wear home. :)
Yay!!
-
Greetings from the train!
Where it’s an hour and forty minutes to Grand Central.
-
My prediction for the Oscars: It will run overtime.
I concur
-
BK, what’s another cast album you’re stocked up on? We’ll tell York to put that show up next.
-
I’m pretty sure they’ll do our bidding.
-
I’m pretty sure they’ll do our bidding.
:)
-
I am back from church where the chalice stayed mended throughout the service to my great relief
-
Katonah. Next station stop, Katonah.
-
Sunday morning greetings! Richard and Mary Linda have gone to their respective churches, Rob's sleeping after working 7pm-7am, and I'm enjoying some Sunday solitude.
-
I set up coffeehour but did not serve, acted as communion assistant , reset the altar, spoke to the Pastor about The Vixters upcoming nuptials and was home by 11
-
DR JRand, I'll wave to you from the Michigan side of the arena - should be a good game!
-
I am now enjoying a toasted bagel, 2 eggs over easy and some fried ham all cooked by very own self
-
Also another cup of decaf hazelnut
-
Once I am done I shall be off to gas up the vehicle and toodle off to the City
-
DRs Vixmom and ChasSmith, have fun in The City today!
There was a brief, shining moment when I thought we'd be there for Grand Hotel, but it just won't work out with our household schedule. Richard even suggested that I go without him, but I'm not even wanting to go grocery shopping alone these days...
-
I’m waiting in line with several hundred people to get into Empty Bowls. The pottery guild donates the bowls and restaurants donate soups, all to raise money to help the homeless. Inflation has hit. The cost of the bowls has gone up $5 to $25 apiece. But they make good presents.

Oh that would have been so much fun

You must take pictures!!
-
My Subways are for sleeping cd has inexplicably not arrived yet...what will I listen to on the drive?
-
The basement is dry but there are boxes everywhere as I was not about to restart them on the shelves just to unstack them again
I am glad they did not get wet.
-
Our friend is on her way with my Girl Scout cookie delivery. To reward her Keith is making Matzo Brei.
-
And I am going through some of the boxes to see if perhaps somethings can be let go
Good idea.
-
My prediction for the Oscars: It will run overtime.
;D
-
I liked Sam Rockwell's performance.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
Warming up the house.
-

One of my favorite song intros: I give you - and don't forget to give them back when you're finished with them - the toast of Mayfair... Fraulein Empty Bowls
-
Great time vibes on the East side to vixmom and Chas!
-
Thanks, FJL. Just got here. Chronically early, as always.
-
I could even have taken the next train. Next time. Note to self.
-

Ha!
-
Enjoy Subways. May have to listen to the McGuire Sisters’ version of the show later.
-
But first, a nap.
-
Ah, that’s better. I’m on Saint Peter’s wifi now. Yes, his very own. Much better.
-
I had best shut down and watch for vixmom now. Later!
-
DR ChasSmith, is there a talkback today? If my friend Jason Buell is there and I'm sure he will be, you and DR vixmom should tell him you are friends of mine, He is my colleague on Guys & Dolls and How To Succeed . . .
-
DR VIXMOM and DR CHAS SMITH have fun on the SUBWAY today!
-
I have no opinion on the Oscars today.....I am not sure I can watch three hours plus of unbridled political rants....warranted but not really needed in that setting....
Can someone tell me exactly what was happening in GET OUT? I watched it....but I couldn't really figure out what they were doing...their was a warning from a couple of black characters....I don't know.....it was very strange. It couldn't have helped that I fell asleep.
-
DR VIXMOM was it the chalice from the palace?
-
I read the article at the link from DR GEORGE last night. Its subject was as insufferable as always.....I was waiting for her to also take credit for the costumes and scenery and stage curtain.....
-
DR ChasSmith, is there a talkback today? If my friend Jason Buell is there and I'm sure he will be, you and DR vixmom should tell him you are friends of mine, He is my colleague on Guys & Dolls and How To Succeed . . .
Box office says they don’t think there is one. Might he be here anyway?
-
Safe and sound at the theatre with Chas
-

Yes. He's the Styne person with the score prep.
-
Okay, we’ll get to him.
Photographic evidence later!
-
Nap Time!
-
Work session is done, now I'm doing an errand, then I'll make some food here and prepare for our partay. Is there anywhere online I can stream the show for free?
-
They say you can do it at the ABC site, but I'm not sure how it works.
http://abc.go.com/shows/oscars
-
I have errands and eaten and am listening to music.
-
I think Brian d’Arcy James is sitting right behind the Michigan bench at Madison Square Garden.
-
Hello. I'm back from lunch with my friends Dennis and Carol and Carol's 93-year old mother. We went to Uno Pizzeria.
-
Some might recall that my "check engine" light went on a couple of weeks ago. Well, I parked in my friends' driveway, which has an incline, so I put the emergency brake on. We drove to the restaurant in their car. When I got back and started driving home I looked and was happy to see it no longer says "check engine!" Of course, it might be temporary.
-
I watched "The Main Event" and have to say I did enjoy it. There were some really funny bits.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Still no cable, so I hooked up an old rabbit ears to my TV and the picture is great. Can't miss the Oscars! (well, at least the first couple of hours). Oh, just thought of something: if I don't have cable later I can't record the Oscars. Maybe I should drag out an old VCR.
-
Can't find any way to stream live for free without subscribing to something - so will need very detailed reports here.
-
Kevin, I think you need to have your car checked out. That light can be very serious or it can be nothing. Let's hope it's nothing. But please don't ignore it.
-
Page five? Really?
-
I think Brian d’Arcy James is sitting right behind the Michigan bench at Madison Square Garden.
Correction: he’s sitting right behind the CBS announcers.
-
Bruce, the NYT usually has good coverage of the Oscars. It's not the whole show, though. I usually switch between NYT and whoever's doing the broadcast Oscar coverage.
-
There's an antenna, sold at one time (maybe still) at Costco, where you don't need cable. You can't get all channels, of course. But it's a much cheaper alternative than cable.
Is anyone here familiar with it? I don't know what it's called.
-
I need to go out for a bit, but will be back later to add my 2 cents. I don't think I've seen any of the films.
-
I have one of those DR JEANNE - actually two antennas - for the two televisions we have that are NOT hooked to cable.
They pick up all the over air channels with a digital signal.....several different types and brands.
-
I think DR GINNY is going to be victorious at the Garden today.....
-
Work session is done, now I'm doing an errand, then I'll make some food here and prepare for our partay. Is there anywhere online I can stream the show for free?
Try ABCTV.com
-
I think DR GINNY is going to be victorious at the Garden today.....
Got a little nervous there towards the end...
-
Page 6? Really??
-
I tried abc.com - in order to watch, you have to sign in with whoever your cable company is.
-
I give you almost a page and a half head start, and still we can't get past Page 6.
-
Where are all the predictions?
-
DR GINNY I had no doubt for the second half......congrats!
-

How do you like it? Pros and cons, please. Under $100?
-
I believe the only current film I saw this year was BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
-
I checked out the Red Carpet (the fashions, actually, not the carpet--that's DR Laura's domain). So far I haven't seen a single dress I like. Nor anything that really flatters the wearer. Every year I am gobsmacked. Surely better things are available.
-
It's a really lovely day here. Bright sun, a bit of wind, clear skies. High 50s. Very nice, IMHO.
-
We need those Red Carpet reports. There is no way to stream this thing without signing up for some service - now, they all have a one month free trial but they take your cc information and I just don't trust that. A shame Netflix doesn't stream it.
-
I know ABC has a YouTube channel so maybe pre-show and highlights will end up there?
-
I notice a couple skaters on the Red Carpet. Anyone know why? Just because they're celebrities os a different sort?
-
Rita Moreno is wearing the same dress she wore in 1962. I couldn't say that!
-

I think Allison Janney looks incredible.
-
Cable on my living room TV and internet are working! Still not working on the bedroom TV, so I hooked up the rabbit ears antenna there and I think the picture is better than with cable. I was able to set the DVR on the other set so I can watch what I miss tomorrow. I have a feeling I'll be asleep in about 2 hours.
-
I notice a couple skaters on the Red Carpet. Anyone know why? Just because they're celebrities os a different sort?
Ice skaters? Maybe because of the I, TONYA.
-
Is stuff happening? I just got on the train at Grand Central. This puts me at home between 9:30 and 10:00.

I agree she looks great. I actually like her dress better than most of the others. But I'm still not crazy about it.
-

Just Red Carpet at the moment, as far as I know.
-
How was the show, Chas?
-
Page six? Really?

We need to turn this page.

You really needed to be alert and awake to follow this one ;D

-
DR GINNY I had no doubt for the second half......congrats!
The game ended less than an hour ago and I've already received an email from The M Den about buying a Big Ten Championship t-shirt.
-
Hello. I'm back from lunch with my friends Dennis and Carol and Carol's 93-year old mother. We went to Uno Pizzeria.
Do they still have the broccoli soup?
-

Good luck it stays off.

Ooh. I'd go for the soup.

I am pleased you enjoyed it. I haven't seen it in years.
-
Rita Moreno is wearing the same dress she wore in 1962. I couldn't say that!
;D I don't know about you put I was probably a children's size 6 around then. I really don't remember what size I was. I do know it was a children's size and Jr. clothes sizes didn't exist yet.
-
Page seven? Really?
-
Do the Oscars start at five or five-thirty?
-

I had to go look. I agree she looks great. I like the dress except for the sleeves.
-
Five.
-
DR JEANNE - mine was about $25.....I love it. You can get ALL broadcast channels...and there are a LOT of them. Like the old fashioned rabbit ears....or a nice flat kind....you don't have to spend a LOT of money if the signal is strong.
No cable only channels, but plenty to watch.
-
I hope the broadcast isn't as boring as the red carpet is right now....
-
You can watch backstage at http://oscar.go.com/the-oscars-all-access
but not the ceremony.....
-
At least you'll get to see the winners!! And hear their prattle.....
-

-
Not sure I will stick with it if EVERYONE starts being political, etc....but we shall see......
-
I hope they don't do the BS me, too time's up thing - that would be very bad and very wrong.
-
Or anything else - do the damn movies and that's it.
-
Not a platform for opinions - not the time, not the place and we will keep on file the names of those who do it, therefore Jrand you will have to tough it out to the end.
-
Meanwhile I'm listening to the symphonies of Tchaikovsky.
-
Check that link above for backstage access MR BK....
-
Here we go after these messages!
-
I ran a few errands this afternoon, including taking my Harvey doodle to be framed. It should be ready in two weeks. Thankfully, Michael's had a 60% off framing sale with an extra 20% off today.
-
This is already the worst Oscar show in history - oh, wait...
-
I'm not sure I can endure that backstage thing.
-
Jimmy is doing okay so far.....
-
Oh, and you must let me know how that awful Great Showman song is - a friend of mine tried to get me to submit an audition tape - they were looking for "elderly" people to be in the number and had a link to a video of the disgustingly idiotic choreography - all I said to my friend was "ELDERLY, you cretin - who's ELDERLY?"
-
I didn't love Jimmy last year - he was okay.
-
Is this the same producers? That's why last year's was one of the worst.
-
Okay, were is everyone - four people does not an Oscar bash make, I hate to tell you.
-
Did I win?
-
I don't know if I can sit here for three hours-plus waiting for posts.
-
I just hate to pay for cable when I literally watch it twice a year - the Oscars and the Tonys.
-
Maybe I'll look into the antenna thing, if it's not too hard to hook up.
-
Watching an independent film from Kelly Reichardt called Certain Women that Criterion released earlier this year or late last year. Michelle Williams, Kristin Stewart, Laura Dern, James LeGros and Rene Auberjonois head a really good cast. There's a real discovery here, an actress named Sara Rodier, whose faces is constantly fascinating. The movie's based on several Maile Meloy short stories set in the Northwest that are engrossing and the pace isn't rushed. But it's also somewhat depressing, as the women's lives are hard.
When I was unemployed, I watched the same director's movie, Wendy and Lucy, which was about an unemployed woman who loses everything in her life, including her beloved dog. That one really traumatized me. This one isn't quite the same gut-punch.
-
You hook it up where you usually put your cable......not hard.
Yes same producers.
-
Same producers - bad idea. What's going on now?
-
Kimmel said Christopher Plummer is oldest nominee ever, and he asked him how Lin Manuel compared with the real Alexander Hamilton... HA!
-
Funny though having Dunaway and Beatty back to present best picture.
-
Person giving the shortest speech gets a Jet Ski!!!
Helen Mirrin playing a Price Is Right model...LOL.
-
Is Plummer really older than George Burns was when he was up?
-
He's 88.
-
Best Supporting Actor.
-
Nice collage of past winners through the years....
-
Yes is the answer, by eight years.
-
Walter Brennan won three times.
-
Are they giving any awards out this evening?
-
Dear Lord, remember the days when we had twenty people here, maybe thirty - those were the days, my friend.
-
I thought they'd never end.
-
And yet they have.
-
Kimmel said Christopher Plummer is oldest nominee ever,
Wow.
-
Can't blame this on Facebook, though. Just apathy.
-
Page eight, really? Shouldn't we be on page fifty?
-
Winner is.... San Rockwell...Three Billboard!
-
Droning onnnnnn....droning onnnnnnnnnnnnnnn....grandma.....mom and dad.......Frances Mcdormand....Woody....on and on...
He don't get no jet ski.
-
He got played off.....
-
Can't blame this on Facebook, though. Just apathy.
It isn't nearly as interesting when you haven't seen the films. And when there aren't many that interest you, you don't see many. Not a lack of interest in films necessarily, but a lack of interest in that year's films.
-
Eva Marie Saint coming up.....
-
I agree DR JEANNE.
-
Is Plummer really older than George Burns was when he was up?
He held the record for the oldest winner for 36 years for best supporting actor until Christopher Plummer won at the age of 82.
-
Bruce, did you see THE DRESSMAKER? A wonderful little film from a couple years ago.
-
Kimmel did just the right amount of politics in his opening....all in context....
-
I think it's all going to be predictable tonight in terms of winners. Sam Rockwell was just okay in Three Billboards - almost everyone else up was better than him, but you can't fight these things.
-
Kimmel did just the right amount of politics in his opening....all in context....
High praise, I think.
-
I did not see The Dressmaker, nor do I own a dress.
-
This is the first Oscarcast I think I have EVER missed since I began watching in the late 1950s.
-
You needn't own a single dress to admire this film. Not a chick flick. Not about pretty clothes. Something quite other.
-
I think it's all going to be predictable tonight in terms of winners. Sam Rockwell was just okay in Three Billboards - almost everyone else up was better than him, but you can't fight these things.
I liked him but I did not see any of the other nominations to compare.
-
Useless unfunny comedy bit......number one
-
Five people here. No elmore, no Laura, no TCB, no George - shameful, but those who are here are cherce. I love spell check - it changes cherce to coerce. I personally would never coerce cherce.
-
OK, I am off for the night. See you tomorrow.
-
What was the unfunny bit - and so it begins.
-
p.s. I will not be catching up on the posts.
-
They need to bring Bruce Vilanch back. And Jane is deserting the ship?
-
Hair and makeup,,,Armie Hammer is wearing a burgandy colored suit.....it is bee0zarr.
-
Darkest Hour - hair and makeup
-
I’m waiting in line with several hundred people to get into Empty Bowls. The pottery guild donates the bowls and restaurants donate soups, all to raise money to help the homeless. Inflation has hit. The cost of the bowls has gone up $5 to $25 apiece. But they make good presents.
One of my favorite song intros: I give you - and don't forget to give them back when you're finished with them - the toast of Mayfair... Fraulein Empty Bowls

Check out the antenna the next time you're at Costco. I'm sure other places sell them, too. Home Depot, maybe.

uh oh,,,,,Japanese guy has a LIST

-
I think Jimmy is doing well so far.
-
YES MR BK....come back to the antenna age.
-
Here comes Eva.....scene from WATERFRONT.
-
Five people here. No elmore, no Laura, no TCB, no George - shameful, but those who are here are cherce. I love spell check - it changes cherce to coerce. I personally would never coerce cherce.
Spell check should never have been released as is. It is simply too stupid, changing correct words to incorrect words that make no sense.
-
LOL....Eva says she's older than the Academy....LOL...she looks good....her dress is weird.
-
Standing ovation for Eva Marie Saint. She looks great at 90.
-
Darkest Hour - I thought it deserved no awards - perhaps a nomination for Mr. Oldman but that's it - of course he's going to win.
-
She must be going to do Costume Design....she's talking about Edith Head....
-
Love Eva Marie Saint.
-
Page 10? Really?
-
Shouldn't we be on page sixty?
-
This show already seems like three hours and I'm not even watching it.

She looks very comfortable, doesn't she? Like DR Laura, she knew the Oscars would run late, so she wore her jammies. Quite original.
-
Costume Design...Phantom Thread....okay

She looks very comfortable, doesn't she? Like DR Laura, she knew the Oscars would run late, so she wore her jammies. Quite original.
She's also in her late 80s and up for her first competitive Oscar. She should have a half-dozen by now.
-
Costume design, Phantom Thread??? Why? There wasn't anything interesting in that movie.
-
Costume Design...Phantom Thread....okay
Duh.
-
Well, crap! First, after my union meeting, I went to Subway for a late lunch and read my Kindle. Second, when I got home and came up to my bedroom and saw that my DVR was on, it didn't indicate that it was recording! :o So, I just turned on the recording and missed the first half hour. :(
But I'm home now and need to ketchup on all the posts.
-
I can't remember the other nominees, but I'm sure there were more worthy costumes up. But never underestimate the stupidity of the Academy.
-
Taraji P. Hanson? Why do they let some of these people in?
-
Hello. I'm back from lunch with my friends Dennis and Carol and Carol's 93-year old mother. We went to Uno Pizzeria.
Do they still have the broccoli soup?
I didn't notice today, but I know that the other Uno I've gone to recently had several help-yourself soups and one of them was broccoli. I remember remarking to my friend that I wouldn't try it as I assumed it had a chicken base. Maybe I shouldn't assume!
-
You need to get with the program, dear reader George, you need to contribute.
-
SHAPE OF WATER and DARKEST HOUR and that Queen Victoria movie were also up......Queen Victoria movie costumes look very good....
-
Who is Taraji Hansen?
-
I can't remember the other nominees, but I'm sure there were more worthy costumes up. But never underestimate the stupidity of the Academy.
There was an article in the Washington Post today about how the prettiest costumes always wins, not necessarily the best.
-
What is this new Mary Poppins movie coming out? With Lin Manuel....WTH?
-
This is a good way to listen to all the Tchaikovsky symphonies in order.
-
Nicole Kidman has the ugliest dress I saw. That bow across her middle looks like Mothra attacked her.
-
What is this new Mary Poppins movie coming out? With Lin Manuel....WTH?
yeah. It's been in the works for a couple of years now.
-
She "stars" in EMPIRE and FOX series about a music tycoon and his family....she's won at least one EMMY for her role.
She also had a shoot 'em up movie come out this month....called MARY SOMETHING OR OTHER......
-
They previewed the new Poppins and it got such a dismal reaction that they're reshooting a ton of it. Big surprise. I shan't tell you what one of the authors of the original said when he first heard and read it, but they at least let him come in and make suggestions.
-
I got an email that Met Opera On Demand is streaming The Exterminating Angel which I was disappointed to miss seeing at the movie theater last fall or whenever it was they did it live. I might have to weaken and do the free 7-day trial thing.
Cool! I would love to see that!
-
When Nicole Kidman is on, I can't get past her face....
-
Taraji P. Hanson? Why do they let some of these people in?
Hidden Figures made a lot of money.
-
I hope they took the suggestions.
-
OH yes....I forget Taraji was in HIDDEN FIGURES....she was good in that.
-
What's happening now - bad interplay between presenters? Always my favorite part.
-
Documentary......
Nice pun.....on the political happenings.
Laura Dern....bless her heart.....that face and she still appears out in public.
-
Doesn't sound like anything horrifying yet.
-
Page eleven? Really?
-
Against the efforts of two hungry kitties, I refused to get out of bed until I wanted. And then their new cat good was not a success. They licked up all the gravy and left the chicken chunks behind, So, I mixed the remains with Gerber's chicken baby food and Thatch ate some of that. Annabelle's not buying it.
Neve is the same...if it's chunky food with gravy, she'll only lap up the gravy.
-
Terrible interplay....don't know the girl in the yellow dress...
-
Well, finally we've got about nine here plus some guests - now we're a partay.
-
I had tuna sandwiches - no gravy to lap up. Then I was bad and had a donut.
-
I am home after a lovely day
-
I just put on the teevee
-
ICARUS best live action short.
-
The only movie I think I saw this year was Beauty and the Beast
-
Welcome home DR VIXMOM and DR CHAS SMITH.
-
Subways are for Sleeping was really fun
-
Excuse me.....Documentary FEATURE!!!

Yes, I was surprised to see her here, but she is a film classic herself.
Actually, I think SHE looks terrific. Her ensemble is not something I would wear, but I personally would like to see a movement to more sensible, comfortable clothing for women. I don't mean jeans and t-shirts (although I wear them myself); I mean stylish clothing that is a pleasure to wear. Helen Mirren's gown looks like it might be.
-
Elmore we did meet your friend and said hello
-
We had lovely burgers at Hillstone
-
What was Icarus? Wondering if I watched it on Netflix.
-
Taraji wearing a SEE-THROUGH dress....introducing Mary J. Blige to sing her song from some movie or another.....
-
Who is Taraji Hansen?
She was quite good, I thought, in PERSON OF INTEREST, one of my favorite characters. I thought the show really lost something when they killed off her character. She was also in HIDDEN FIGURES.
-
Hey! We need details every minute or we're in the damn dark.
-
Must be about the Russian interference that caused Hillary Clinton to win the popular vote.
-
Jimmy Kimmel " and now ladies and gentlemen in order to make sure this show runs as long as humanly possible, I'm here to introduce somebody who is going to introduce somebody else"
-
Mary is wailing on and on about something, but at least she is doing it live.
-
I know someone who's singing background in the Mary Bilge song.
-
Which I'm sure is awful. The only question is will they give Pasek and Paul another award - certainly their agent has been working twenty-four hours a day to insure that, but I know voters also like Diane Warren.
-
Jimmy is nice and slender and his tuxedo fits very well.....he isn't wasting a LOT of time tonight.
-
And Pasek and Paul won last years, albeit only for lyrics.
-
Five people here. No elmore, no Laura, no TCB, no George - shameful, but those who are here are cherce. I love spell check - it changes cherce to coerce. I personally would never coerce cherce.
I am right here.
-
I find them quite a bore as songwriters.
-
I know someone who's singing background in the Mary Bilge song.
There's about 40 backup singers and they're in the dark and out of focus
-
I would give it to Diane Warren over anyone....particularly that awful song for SHOWMAN and this pseudo gospel crap....
-
Now we have three GUESTS.
-
Starting to feel like a partay.
-
Page twelve? Really?
-
There were probably three dozen background singers.
-
I can guarantee that neither Jane nor elmore will bother reading any of these postings.
-
Such is life.
-
My friend acted like he'd be one of a few background singers. I want a full report on the elderly people in This Is Me - and that, friends, is a terrible song title for a terrible song.
-
She "stars" in EMPIRE and FOX series about a music tycoon and his family....she's won at least one EMMY for her role.
She also had a shoot 'em up movie come out this month....called MARY SOMETHING OR OTHER......
PROUD MARY
-
You can't live stream without a provider, that's the problem with ABC Live.
-
What's happening now? Commercials?
-
I hope Rose McGowan isn't going to be on.
-
Nine people, three guests - that's the title of my next novel.
-
I loved that montage.
-
A great movie montage.....
-
LOL....sounded editing.....
-
I'm ketchuping as fast as I can! I just reached page 8.
-
Kimmel said at the first ceremony Douglas Fairbanks said "Christopher Plummer is this year's youngest nominee..." LOL
-
Sound editing....hmmmmmmmmm.....
DUNKIRK
-
That WATER movie is getting shut out of everything so far......
-
Me too DR TCB.
-
I would give it to Diane Warren over anyone....particularly that awful song for SHOWMAN and this pseudo gospel crap....
I want Lin-Manuel Miranda to win.
-
Sound mixing
-
They need to bring Bruce Vilanch back. And Jane is deserting the ship?
I don't watch the Oscars ;D
-
What song did he write DR JOHN G?
-
Who are these two presenters?
-
I'm fighting with my printer while trying to watch the Oscars. The black ink cartridge that I just replaced is empty >:(
-
Another win for DUNKIRK
-
Who are these two presenters?
I wondered the same thing.
-
Didn't catch their names DR TCB.....
-
Oh, it might. We stopped asking this questions years ago.
-
Terrible interplay....don't know the girl in the yellow dress...
She is up for Best Director.
-
The only nominated movies we've seen are Beauty and the Beast and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. And Richard saw Dunkirk.
-
You need to get with the program, dear reader George, you need to contribute.
I'm getting there...slowly, but Shirley.
-
Three films now....inspired by WalMart box.....
-
Oh, and I read the book Mudbound...
-
I can guarantee that neither Jane nor elmore will bother reading any of these postings.
I am pretty good at speed reading while I scroll. I saw my name.
-
What was Icarus? Wondering if I watched it on Netflix.
It is a Netflix film.
-
That was because I am still on the computer. No way am I doing this on my tablet.
-
Ahhh....I saw her on the red carpet DR TCB. Is that the LADY BIRD director? Her name isn't on my ballot, just the film titles.
-
Terrible interplay....don't know the girl in the yellow dress...
She is up for Best Director.
Greta Gerwig.
-
Pretty quick first hour....but still too long....
-
Terrible interplay....don't know the girl in the yellow dress...
She is up for Best Director.
I didn't know who that was but I thought it was pretty, unless I saw someone else in a yellow dress.
-
I know someone who's singing background in the Mary Bilge song.
There's about 40 backup singers and they're in the dark and out of focus
Whoops, Vixmom is into the vodka.
-
Thanks DR JEANNE....yes.
-
Terrible interplay....don't know the girl in the yellow dress...
She is up for Best Director.
Greta Gerwig.
That was who I saw.
-
Oh, and I read the book Mudbound...
Did you like it, DR Ginny?
-
HA! Burn to the Academy from Jimmy.
-
Taraji wearing a SEE-THROUGH dress....introducing Mary J. Blige to sing her song from some movie or another.....
At least she had noticeable support built into her dress and you didn't have to see everything.
-
Lupita and Kamel......
-
I know someone who's singing background in the Mary Bilge song.
There's about 40 backup singers and they're in the dark and out of focus
Whoops, Vixmom is into the vodka.
;D Or dozing off.
-
Blah blah blah blah......dreamers.....blah blah blah
now.....Production design.....
-
Oh, and I read the book Mudbound...
Did you like it, DR Ginny?
It was very atmospheric.
-
Please say categories when announcing winners.
-
SHAPE OF WATER finally gets one.....Production design/set decoration
-
Page thirteen? Really? Shouldn't we be on page seventy?
-
Shape of Water for WHAT??? We need categories here.
-
And the Empire State Building is Maize and Blue!
-
Production design....set decoration
-
Nobody is getting the jet ski.
-
What song did he write DR JOHN G?
From Coco
-
I wonder how much pressure the women attendees feel to wear something really different, really outre (to use a BK favorite). Surely they wish to be seen and noticed.
-
Best song nominee from COCO.....
-
Oh, so I did see one nominated movie this year: Beauty and the Beast.
-
He didn't mention Lin's name DR JOHN G.....I don't think....
-
WTH is this? He can't sing....
-
"Remember Me" Forget it!
-
Gale Garcia Bernal "singing" the nominated song from Coco.
-
He didn't mention Lin's name DR JOHN G.....I don't think....
Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
-
Okay, now we have some actual singers.
-
now....a production number.....if I didn't know I was wrong I would say they brought back Debbie Allen.
-
Ahhh....I saw her on the red carpet DR TCB. Is that the LADY BIRD director? Her name isn't on my ballot, just the film titles.
Yes. Greta somebody.
-
Wow I didn't recognize Gael.......
-
Lupita had a stunning dress. And the guy she was with was pretty funny.
-
Uh oh.....everybody gonna get paper confetti in their hairs.....
-
He didn't mention Lin's name DR JOHN G.....I don't think....
Yeah, I think it's Miguel, not Lin-Manuel, who was nominated.
-
What was the production number?
-
The Coco songwriters won for Let It Go from Frozen.
-
That was the best interplay so far DR TCB.....but it kind of went nowhere.....and yes her dress was lovely....but her hair was....not
-
What was the production number?
"Remember Me" from Pixar's Coco.
-
Doesn't sound like many awards are being given.
-
Or have I missed some?
-
Page fourteen? Really?
-
Song from COCO was the production number.....
-
ABC is completely ignoring the claims against Ryan Seacrest....saying they've been settled.....being a bit hypocritical with all of this stuff on the Oscars....too much money invested in his talk show and American Idol.....I guess
-
Here comes Rita Moreno!!!
-
Best Supporting Actress.
-
Foreign Film..... Rita looks great.....weird dress!
-
Oops, Best Foreign Language Film
-
A Fantastic Woman
-
Best Foreign Language Film
A FANTASTIC WOMAN
-
From Chile
-
A Fantastic Woman!
-
Never heard of it. But I do like chili.
-
I can rest and DR KEVIN can take over!
-
And DR GEORGE!
-
Ninety minutes in. I'm on the Manfred Symphony, which is between symphonies four and five.
-
There's no resting.
-
Now: Best Supporting Actress
-
BSA BSA
-
A Fantastic Woman
Great. I'm glad. I really want to see this. The preview was gripping.
-
Never heard of it. But I do like chili.
I think it's about a trans woman whose lover dies but his family didn't recognize or acknowledge their relationship. It's notable in that the trans woman character is played by an actual trans woman.
-
Best actress is - Allison Janney.
-
Just a guess.
-
Don't see how she can lose.
-
Allison Janney
-
How long does it take to read five nominees?
-
Allison Janney
Dayton, Ohio girl!
-
Score one for me. And I get one for Sam Rockwell, too. But I think this is how it's going to go all night.
-
Allison Janney - Best Supporting Actress
-
BSA Allison Janey.....
I really like Octavia and Laurie....but I'm okay with this....
LOL Allison - "I did it all by myself....."
-
How long does it take to read five nominees?
They showed clips from their movies.
-
But she was really good in I, Tonya. I'd give it to the gal in I, Tonya, too. But I can't remember who that front runner is.
-
How long does it take to read five nominees?
They're showing clips from the films they're nominated for.
-
They showed film clips!!!
-
Who's the front runner for actress?
-
She also does MOM on TV.
-
Is that a first? Showing supporting actor clips?
-
But she was really good in I, Tonya. I'd give it to the gal in I, Tonya, too. But I can't remember who that front runner is.
Frances McDormand
-
No real consensus on ACTRESS....all over the place.
-
Is that a first? Showing supporting actor clips?
No. Standard.
-
Oh wait I did hear a lot of folks mention the name DR JOHN G said....but others as well.
-
Who will they leave out of the In Memoriam section?
-
I am anxiously awaiting the song that MR BK could have appeared in......
-
Who will they leave out of the In Memoriam section?
And will they start with the camera far away so the first couple can't be seen?
-
That's scary to think about DR JOHN G.....I heard that people PAY to have some folks put in....but I don't know if it's true.....
-
Oh, that's right - they'll give it to McDormand, even though she always seems to give the same performance.
-
As long as they don't end with the quote I was talking about earlier this week....I'll probably be okay.
-
Commercials......
-
Page sixteen? Really?
-
Jimmy wearing a new jacket....here comes STAR WARS people
-
As long as they don't end with the quote I was talking about earlier this week....I'll probably be okay.
You could tell the chairperson that the Oscars STOLE your quote. And you didn't want it to look like you were copying the Oscars.
-
I love BB8
-
Didn't like the kid doing young Jimmy - must be someone's nephew..
Best Animated Short......Dear Basketball.....Kobe Bryant
-
Ah that's true DR JEANNE....now I'm hoping they DO!
-
What's happening now?
-
Animated Feature Film
-
Coco
-
Animated Feature - COCO
-
The commercial looked really crappy, but maybe the movie is okay.
-
Back from an emergency bathroom break. ::)
;)
-
Next song....from Call Me By Jour Name.....
Mystery of Love.....
-
The commercial looked really crappy, but maybe the movie is okay.
Here in San Antonio, the movie went over like gangbusters, except it had everyone crying buckets by the end. Big, ugly crying from what I heard. Ol' Yeller epic crying.
-
I want that pink jacket to wear to the doctor's office.
At least this guy can sing!
-
Oh dear DR JOHN G.....maybe I should see it....the commercial did make me laugh twice.
-
I really didn't like Call Me By Your Name - and the song was horrid. But I know the film has its fans.
-
I want that pink jacket to wear to the doctor's office.
At least this guy can sing!
He's very breathy, though.
-
Coco was a lock.
-
Breathy singing - not for the likes of me.
-
Shouldn't we be on page eighty?
-
Oh they have a trap door/stage lift....that's cool.
-
I can't figure out what the proscenium is supposed to be.....
-
Last year's Oscar Bash was a record-breaker for us - the lowest posting for any Oscar Bash - it was shocking, actually, and completely irritating. Thankfully, we're far past that paltry total this year.
-
more commercials.....I want to see the BK NUMBER.....
-
And another hour to go!
-
Funny ROSEANNE commercial....hope the reboot is good.....I HOPE
-
I can't imagine anything Roseanne does being good - too much facial surgery.
-
What's next?
-
Breathy singing - not for the likes of me.
Except it works for "The Girl from Ipanema." ;D
-
Last year's Oscar Bash was a record-breaker for us - the lowest posting for any Oscar Bash - it was shocking, actually, and completely irritating. Thankfully, we're far past that paltry total this year.
Whew!
-
Gina and Tom....special effects...
They are using some nice classic songs for walk ons and offs.
-
Too much facial surgery?
As Jayne Mansfield said when being complimented on her hair:
"It's all natural except the color!"
-
Blade Runner 2049.
-
Blade Runner 2049 or whatever for Special effects
-
I think DR JANE said she saw this movie.
-
Excuse me....VISUAL Effects....
-
Play off music........
-
That was the only good thing about the Blade Runner redo - the fx.
-
Here comes Matthew McBongo.
-
Page seventeen? Really?
-
...yacking about something....oh....editing....
-
Blade Runner 2049 or whatever for Special effects
Was this the guy who's been nominated 18 times?
-
Film Editing
-
I think DR JANE said she saw this movie.
I did, too.
-
Dunkirk for film editing?
-
Dunkirk.
-
That would seem like what they'd go for.
-
Score another for ME :)
-
Yup....DUNKIRK is cleaning up.....
Maybe so DR JOHN G.....
-
Six GUESTS are with us.
-
At least it's not pathetic like last year. Welcome GUESTS.
-
Page eighteen? Really? Shouldn't we be on page ninety?
-
Wow WE got a thank you!
-
I see dear readers who are not posting. I see dead people.
-
WE did? Haineshisway?
-
Here!
-
Oh....a stunt.....
-
Just got the TV turned on.
-
Now what's happening??
-
So they’re going next door to the Chinese.
-
Oh....a stunt.....
Huh?
-
To thank the audience.
-
Some folks on their way over to another movie theater to surprise them.....including Jimmy, Mark Hamill, Lupita, Emily Blunt aka Mary Poppins, and a couple of others.
This could be very good.....or spectacularly bad.
The audience is seeing a sneak preview of A Wrinkle in Time.....
-
A group of actors and others are walking over to the Chinese Theater to surprise the audience
-
Commercials.......
-
Jimmy got a bunch of the stars to go a theater close by to surprise people watching a sneak peak of "A Wrinkle in Time."
-
I entered the contest to attend the ceremonies next year - I could be posting from the theatre!!!
-
If I were in that audience I wouldn't recognize most of the people.
-
I am going TO eat a Cutie.
-
I hear that DR KEVIN H....me either....
-
I entered the contest to attend the ceremonies next year - I could be posting from the theatre!!!
~~~Attending the Oscars Vibes for Jrand!!~~~
-
Hi, y'all. I'm here to par-tay!
-
I wish they'd stop doing what in essence are late-night show comedy bits on the Oscars - doesn't matter if it's bad or good it's just wrong.
-
Like that thing last year.
-
Hit me with a hot note and watch me bounce.
-
BK, I saw your friend Gary in the Mudbound song.
-
My Lord, the Manfred symphony is STILL going on.
-
Yes, Gary Stockdale - he told me he was doing it.
-
What's happening now?
-
Or to put it another way - now what's happening?
-
Edi! Hi!
-
They're over at the movie theater...
-
Hey, George!
-
Hi, Edi!
-
Are they going to give more awards?
-
I thought that's what they did on the Oscars.
-
They're firing 2 hot dog cannons at the audience and giving out snacks.
-
And will they be giving the remainder of awards, of which there seem to be many, in the next fifty minutes?
-
Hey, John!
-
Hi DR EDI!
This is going on for a long time!
-
Is this bit funny?
-
Tiffany Hadis and Maya Rudolph!
-
One of the audience members is introducing Tiffany Hadish and Maya Rudolph...
-
Not as funny as they thought it was.
-
They had a guy from the audience to introduce the next presenters.
-
Hey JRand!
-
This is a funny bit......
-
HEY EDI!!!
-
Hi, DR Edi!!!
-
These women are funny....
"There are TONS of white people backstage....."
-
Doc Short
Short Doc
-
So, Edi, what brings you back to HHW?
-
Doc Short:
Heaven is a traffic jam on the 405
-
Heaven is a Traffic Jam on the 405? That's hard to believe!
-
The Oscar party!
-
That's the name of the documentary???
-
When I go to Oscar parties in town, people always talk thru them and I can't hear!
-
That's the name of the documentary???
Yes.
-
That's the name!
-
Live Action short
The Silent Child
-
Hey, Edi!!
-
Man bun. ::)
;)
-
I'm happy my friend Richard King won his 4th Oscar for sound editing for Dunkirk.
-
M A N B U N ALERT !!
-
Page twenty? Really?
-
The montages have been really great this year!
-
She was using signed English....deaf folks won't like that.
-
I hate those damn man buns - what idiot is wearing such a thing to the Oscars?
-
DR GEORGE that's a BIG BUN!
-
Dave Chapelle.....
-
Another song, but not MR BK's song.....
-
Yes they have been DR EDI!
-
Unless you meant a man's ASS rather than his hair.
-
Oh....I guess this be one of those WRAP songs.....
-
This is the Diane Warren song?
-
MR BK it was his hair.....his other buns were unremarkable.
-
Must be DR TCB.
-
Some girl in an unfortunate dress and someone else's hair is singing it....sort of.
-
Stand up at home.....stand up....are you standing up? Nah!
-
Who was the first singer for the Coco song? He couldn't sing!
-
I think they just showed Diane Warren in the audience.....
-
I don't know DR EDI but it wasn't me......did someone say it was Gael Garcia....or was he the guy that COULD sing later on?
-
While the awards show drags on, I'm watching Constance Towers in The Naked Kiss. Tawdry, fun.
-
COMMERCIALS.
-
I ate TWO cuties.
-
Was the Coco song any good? I didn't see the movie.
-
I liked the Coco song. It had a good dance number, too.
-
Didn't the Oscars originally start at six, then moved to five-thirty? When did they move to five?
-
Was the Coco song any good? I didn't see the movie.
I haven't either, but yesterday I bought the Blu-ray.
-
I'm glad they're including some shots of the orchestra beneath the stage.
-
Here come the ladies to talk about METOO, etc......
-
Good lord, there’s actually an orchestra in a below-stage pit?
-
Hey, TCB!
-
Too bad they can't read.
-
Every time I see a man bun, I think of this meme:
-
Sometimes they haven't even been in the same building, but over in the Capitol Records building.
-
Page twenty-one? Really?
-
Ashley Judd doesn't look good...
-
Who is talking about the me, too movement and why?
-
Me want names.
-
I've never though Ashley Judd looked good - has she had a career since she had a career?
-
A friend of mine was one of the producers of Mudbound. He was my online editor for JEWS AND BASEBALL, so I'm rooting for him!
-
One of these days Salma Hayek is gonna break a leg jumping on a bandwagon.
-
A friend of mine was one of the producers of Mudbound. He was my online editor for JEWS AND BASEBALL, so I'm rooting for him!
Cool!
-
It's a montage of moviemakers from this year.....
-
Margo Robbie and someone that BS Actor from last year.....coming out ... Adapted Screenplay.....
-
But who was talking about the me, too thing and why - was it a planned bit?
-
Screenwriter! Hoping for James Ivory.
-
Sarah Silverman is still ugly.....
-
...and not funny.....
-
My goodness, I never really appreciated Tchaikovsky in years past, but the guy was awfully good.
-
James Ivory.....adapted screenplay.....CALL ME BY YOUR NAME
-
Adapted screenplay: James Ivory!
-
JAMES IVORY is there!
-
Screenwriter - original or adapted? Original will be Get Out?
-
Selma, Ashley, and some other woman introduced a montage of this year's nominees talking about it MR BK.....
-
My dear friend was his editor for several films. Had dinner with him several times. A completely charming guy!
-
Ivory was a lock.
-
James Ivory's shirt is fantastic!
-
Original will be the interesting category - Shape of Water or Get Out. I don't think anything else has a chance, but maybe Three Billboards.
-
James Ivory's shirt is fantastic!
I didn't notice it. It is!
-
But who was talking about the me, too thing and why - was it a planned bit?
It was Ashley Judd, Salma Hayak, and the woman in the middle I didn't know.
-
Page twenty-two? Really?
-
Can we get to page fifty?
-
Forty?
-
I think we do have a shot at thirty.
-
Are they really going to be ending this show in twenty-five minutes???
-
Here comes Nicole Kidman....don't let the children watch.
-
Nicole.
-
Best partay on all the Internet.
-
Nicole Kidman's dress has armrests!
-
Nicole scares me - that face - she was so pretty once upon a time. Vanity thy name is Nicole.
-
Grant is playing in the band at the Governer's Ball after.
-
I offered to go with him, but, you know...
-
Get Out!
-
Screen play original:
MR BK was right.....GET OUT.....Jordan Peele
-
Jordan Peele, love him!
-
Was the other woman Mira Sorvino?
-
Ten of us and two GUESTS. Guess we BORED the other GUESTS.
-
So happy for James Ivory.
-
No one has explained the me, too thing.
-
Go over there afterwards MR BK and tell them you know someone.
-
Me too DR EDI....for a LONG time since MAD Tv
-
#ME TOO started so people could say they were also victims of sexual harassment.......
-
I understand what the movement is - I'm trying to find out what and why they did about it on the Oscars.
-
Someone must have seen it.
-
Everyone was mentioning it. Was it planned?
-
I feel we are very close to not being on this page.
-
VERY close.
-
REALLY close.
-
THAT close.
-
What's happening now???
-
Someone just texted me - they think this is the most boring Oscars EVER.
-
Wes Studi is on
-
Page twenty-three? Really?
-
Who is Wes Studi?
-
I understand what the movement is - I'm trying to find out what and why they did about it on the Oscars.
Probably because it got started when Harvey Weinstein was ousted because of what he did.
-
Down to one GUEST - little wussburgers. Spell check just changed wussburgers to wussburrers?
-
War movie montage....
-
Native American actor, he's probably in Dances With Wolves, etc. He's a great actor and nice guy. He introduced a military film montage.
-
I know the history of me, too - I am asking a simple question - what did they do on the Oscars? All I've been able to glean is that Ashley Judd and someone else spoke - was that a planned thing or off the cuff. Why are my questions so confusing when I think they're so easy to understand.
-
Wes was in that movie Dances With Wolves
-
Oscars thanking the military
-
Why is there a military film montage.
-
Oscars thanking the military??? Is that a joke?
-
Sandy Bullock....
-
Hi, y'all. I'm here to par-tay!
Edi!!!!!!!
-
Back up to two GUESTS - maybe one of the wussburrers came back?
-
Annabella Sciorra was the woman in between Ashley Judd and Salma Hayek.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Maybe to counter the impression that Hollywood is the liberal elite that doesn't support the military? Just guessing...
-
I think I should have won for best costumes.
-
Hey, Vixmom!
-
Doing a salute to the military just sounds very outre to me as an Oscar show thing.
-
Cinematography goes to Blade Runner
-
Sandy's dress is pretty....and she's funny.
Cinematography......
wow.....Blade Runner 2049
I think DR JANE saw that movie....and so did DR GEORGE
-
Do we think they'll hand out the rest of the awards in the next twelve minutes, especially considering we haven't had the This is Me number?
-
Roger Deakins is so handsome.
-
I think you're right DR EDI....but I'm not convinced.
-
Roger Deakin, cinematographer
-
Yeah, the military thing seemed like a stretch...
-
First win after 14 nominations!
-
About the reason for the war thing....not about Roger....
-
Blade Runner won for cinematography? Surprised. I would of course have given it to a film that wasn't even nominated - the wondrous Wonderstruck.
-
Zendaya? WTH?
-
Roasting red peppers now as the Oscars seem to be taking a break.
-
Here comes MR BK's SONG!!!
-
He's very talented, Roger Deakin.
-
Do we think they'll hand out the rest of the awards in the next twelve minutes, especially considering we haven't had the This is Me number?
Now it's here.
-
Time for This Is Me
-
First win after 14 nominations!
This was the guy. Happy for him.
-
Tell me all about the ELDERLY people - and then tell me what you think of the choreography they're doing :)
-
BK, it's your song.
-
Is that BK?
-
Zendaya? WTH?
She was in the movie.
-
I just hate the song - can't listen to people screeching it so not seeing this is a big plus.
-
I have 3 screeners for Wonder movies: Wonderstruck, Wonder Wheel and Wonder. Wonder Wheel was awful, I thought.
-
Great BIG girl sanging.....lots of folks in the back ground. This song sucks.
-
Great BIG girl sanging.....lots of folks in the back ground. This song sucks.
Standing O. ::)
-
I agree - it's a pathetic song that people inexplicably love - just like Let It Go, another song I can't listen to and one these boys were clearly trying to emulate. Sadly, they'll probably win it.
-
And I believe they positioned it where they did because they know it's the win.
-
Five minutes to give out many awards.
-
Page twenty-four? Really?
-
Four of our ten people left the room???
-
Intro to, and view of the pit
-
Who is conducting?
-
Christopher Walken!
-
I missed it.
Here’s Christopher Walken.
-
Harry someone....
-
Christopher Walken is conducting?
-
This must be original score....yup
-
Who is conducting?
Harold Wheeler.
-
LOL.....no not enough cow bell.
-
Harold Wheeler is GREAT.
-
How were the ELDERLY people and did you love their choreography.
-
Best score, Shape of Water
-
Yes, i think the Greatest Showman song will win. It's popular and it's sold. That's all that matters.
-
Best score - the shape of water
-
Best Original Score
Desplat for that SHAPE OF WATER.....movie
-
Harold Wheeler is GREAT.
Yes. He is.
-
Score another one for me. Shape of Water was a lock and it may well take best picture.
-
The elderly people got to run down into the audience with the others.....all choreography was the same....no solo dances.....
-
Here comes Miranda Hamilton!
-
Here comes Miranda Hamilton!
And the movie Baker's Wife.
-
Well, three hours has come and gone - are we taking bets on three hours and thirty minutes?
-
Must be Best Original Song.....
COCO!!!!
-
Hurray!
-
An upset!
-
Oh these jokers wrote Let It Go? Whew......
-
Oh my God....she's gonna talk all night....
-
That is an upset.
-
I'm glad. They're slightly better than Pasek and Paul, I think.
-
BK, the "Me, Too" thing was definitely scripted. The 3 women introduced a film montage of people talking about it.
-
Actually she said some nice things.
-
Memoriam.......
-
In Memoriam...
-
What happened there with the music? False start playoff?
-
And Pasek and Paul's agent is probably fuming right about now - all that tiresome bullpucky he does behind the scenes didn't pay off. But he will spin it instantly, congratulating the Lopez's but pointing out how well The Greatest Showman has done.
-
Well I missed the beginning because I got home late , then Vixdad came home abd talked over the show, then the Vixter and Charles (her Charles, not our Chas) called to talk about wedding stuff then Vixdad talked about the gas people .
I think BK has seen more of this year's Oscars than I have
-
This is the most P.C. awards ceremony ever.
-
In Memoriam section.
-
Nice song choice
-
Am I in the memoriam section - let me know.
-
You can read all the names. Whew!
-
I didn't know Joseph Bologna died
-
Pretty nice.....
-
3 or 4 editors in the memoriam. Usually there's just one token.
-
Am I in the memoriam section - let me know.
No they forgot
-
Jerry Lewis got the closing slot.
-
It was nice.
-
Didn't see you MR BK! You still have to have rehearsal tomorrow.
-
It was a shock to me when it happened DR VIXMOM!
-
That was also the most multi-cultural memoriam, too, I thought.
-
Whew!
-
John Heard but no John Hurt....or did I miss him....or did they do him last year?
-
Who'd they leave out?
-
Is it just two for SHAPE OF WATER so far?
-
And one for 3 BILLBOARDS.....DUNKIRK has the most, I think.
-
Jimmy wearing white dinner jacket.
-
Emma Stone....must be ready for Best Director...yup.
-
Another view of the orchestra.
I think they’re emphasizing it after those shameful years of not having it there.
-
Best director next? That leaves original screenplay, the acting and best picture, right?
-
I think in the memoriam they should either show a clip for all the actors or for none of them
-
So definitely achieving three and a half hours.
-
Best Director:
del Toro.....The Shape of Water
-
Whoa!
-
Shape of water. Best director for Guillmo del Toro
-
Strange that last year's Best Actress is presenting Best Director and not Best Actor (or is she presenting both?)
-
Shape of Water for director - called it.
-
Agreed DR VIXMOM.
-
They all rather cockily thought that the Zindel lawsuit was going to hurt the film - not a whit.
-
Best director next? That leaves original screenplay, the acting and best picture, right?
They've already done original screenplay - Get, Out
-
Page twenty-seven? Really?
-
Well, what else haven't I been told???
-
Nice speech!
-
So I called Get Out, too - I'm batting 100% in all categories I've guessed in.
-
We told you about GET OUT.....it might have been at a page turn.
-
Ah, perhaps a page turn. Damn them, damn them all to hell.
-
BK to answer your query about the stRt time for the Oscars I seem to remember they always started at 8 pm EST
-
We told you about GET OUT.....it might have been at a page turn.
There was only one mention of it.
-
Back up to six GUESTS.
-
This may be the most predictable Oscar wins ever.
-
I'll be very curious to know what the bit Dunaway and Beatty will be doing.
-
Commercials
-
We could get to page thirty, you know.
-
We just could.
-
I'm gonna make it all the way through!
-
If you clap and say we believe in faeries.
-
Ah, perhaps a page turn. Damn them, damn them all to hell.
But BK, page turns are a good thing!
;)
-
This looks like Best Actor....
-
I'm gonna make it all the way through without actually having watched it.
-
And the winner is: Gary Oldman.
-
Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren....
-
Jane Fonda AND Helen Mirren are presenting.
-
They played SO IN LOVE from KISS ME KATE.
-
Is Cole Porter a theme?
-
Or did his estate just need the dough?
-
Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren look wonderful, dignified dresses , nice hairstyles ,
-
Jane looks great!
-
No they've just been playing classics.
-
Page twenty-eight? Really?
-
Jane looked great in the photos, although she also looked a little like Frances McDormand.
-
This is something of a return to form, I must say, and we've doubled last year's pathetic tally.
-
Page twenty-eight? Really?
Nope. it's all a mirage.
-
Page thirty could happen, it really could. So, just two more awards after actor. They're really rushing to try for three and a half hours.
-
Five GUESTS.
-
Best Actor:
Gary Oldman and his rubber face
-
GARY OLDMAN!
-
What was the Paul Zindel writing that the Shape of Water supposedly copied?
-
Gary Oldman.
-
Batting 100% here.
And the best actress award goes to: Francis McDormand.
-
Jane said "and the winner is" instead of "The Oscar goes to"
-
Best Actor:
Gary Oldman and his rubber face
Yup...it was all prosthetics.
-
What was the Paul Zindel writing that the Shape of Water supposedly copied?
There's a lawsuit filed by Zindel's estate
-
I wonder what will finish first - Tchaikovsky's sixth or the Oscars?
-
So, I guess the Me, Too campaign didn't apply to Gary Oldman.
-
Jane said "and the winner is" instead of "The Oscar goes to"
Kicking it old school.
-
Zindel family will so lose that lawsuit.
-
Four minutes - guess they'll actually go over three and a half hours.
-
What's happening - more commercials?
-
They aren’t playing him off...
-
Yet...
-
He's STILL talking???
-
He made it.
-
Nice speech....
-
He wants the Tchaikovsky to finish.
-
They aren’t playing him off...
The lead categories are more worthy.
-
Two GUESTS. They come, they go, like Grand Hotel.
-
The Naked Kiss has ended. That Sam Fuller. Just exciting stuff. Lurid, powerful, wonderful.
-
I'm so glad I wasn't in the memoriam section!
-
Page twenty-nine? Really?
-
I feel we might reach page thirty or even beyond.
-
What's happening now?
-
Jennifer Lawrence and Jodie Foster....on crutches...
-
THIS is a damn partay.
-
Jodie Foster on crutches!
-
They're both on crutches?
-
What did she do to herself?
-
LOL Jodie claimed Meryl tripped her.
-
Jennifer Lawrence must be 7 feet tall!
-
Wow...Jennifer Lawrence is tall!
-
Jodie is funny.
-
Jennifer Lawrence not so much.
-
The one picture I saw of Emma Stone had her looking like a younger Jodie Foster.
-
Did Jodie mention me at all?
-
LOL Jodie claimed Meryl tripped her.
That is funny.
-
I mean I did do the commentary track for Tom Sawyer.
-
Did Jodie mention me at all?
Why? Did you trip her?
-
OMG
-
Yup, Frances!
-
Yes just Jodie on crutches...
Best actress:
Quirky Frances Mc
-
What was the Paul Zindel writing that the Shape of Water supposedly copied?
There's a lawsuit filed by Zindel's estate
do you know the title of the Paul Zindel piece? Was it a book or a play?
-
She's "got some things to say."
-
She is so quirky and funny and REAL....ugh...barf......
-
Batting 100% here. So, let me just call the final award.
And the best picture goes to: Shape of Water.
But first they'll say the wrong film and then have to correct it.
-
DR VIXMOM it's on YouTube......I forget the name of it.
-
Did Jodie mention me at all?
No she forgot
-
What was the Paul Zindel writing that the Shape of Water supposedly copied?
There's a lawsuit filed by Zindel's estate
do you know the title of the Paul Zindel piece? Was it a book or a play?
It was a play from 1969 or thereabouts - Google Zindel and Shape of Water and you'll find the title.
-
Oh no....here she goes......what a dumb stunt......go sit down, dumb ass.....
-
Well, this think is heading to three hours and forty minutes - that seems longer than last year?
-
Page thirty? Really?
-
I feel strongly that we might just get to page thirty.
-
I hate her and her ugly face and attitude more each time I see her....UGH
-
I really liked the Google commercial with the girlfriend taking forever to typed e Netflix title into the remote.....
-
Did I mention they sell liquor in Indiana on Sundays now?
-
Did Francis McDormand mention me at all?
-
I hate her and her ugly face and attitude more each time I see her....UGH
Don't hold back, Jack...tell us how you REALLY feel!
;)
-
Yes DR VIXMOM that was funnier than almost anything Jimmy Kimmel did.
-
LOL DR GEORGE......I think she started to MR BK, but Jodie Foster cut her off.....you must be on her bad list.....
-
Did Francis McDormand mention me at all?
No she forgot
-
The question is will I watch a movie if this thing ever ends? A bit late to start one, though.
-
Why is no one mentioning me?
-
Here come Warren and Faye.....Embraceable YOU!
-
All of the roasted peppers have been peeled, sliced and jarred. They're sitting in a little salt now. Will add the oil in a few minutes.
-
I hate when that happens.
-
I hate her and her ugly face and attitude more each time I see her....UGH
I like her and I liked her speech
-
Roasted peppers. That's the title of my next novel.
-
I would have liked her speech if she'd only mentioned me.
-
What's happening now?
-
I hate her and her ugly face and attitude more each time I see her....UGH
I like her and I liked her speech
I like her, too, but I really loved Sally Hawkins in Maudie and even though that wasn't the movie she was nominated for, I was hoping she'd win.
-
I need a play by play on Dunaway and Beatty - every moment of it. That should get us to page fifty.
-
What's happening now?
They're now showing clips from the nominated movies.
-
Why is no one mentioning me?
They're jealous of your amazing ability to predict the winner
-
Only a few more posts until page 31. Really.
-
I mean would Francis McDormand or Jodie Foster have a career if it wasn't for haineshisway.com?
-
Am I in any of the clips?
-
Listening to Ravel now. Beautiful.
-
I mean would Francis McDormand or Jodie Foster have a career if it wasn't for haineshisway.com?
If it weren't, either.
-
Ravel is the berries - one of the greatest.
-
I can be a bitch.
-
I think my battery will barely last until the end. If I disappear, that's why. Great to see y'all!
-
What's happening?
-
Page 31!
-
Are Mr. Beatty and Ms. Dunaway onstage yet?
-
Page thirty-one? Really?
-
I feel fairly confident that we'll get to page thirty tonight.
-
Who are these two GUESTS?
-
All of the roasted peppers have been peeled, sliced and jarred. They're sitting in a little salt now. Will add the oil in a few minutes.
My method for making roasted red peppers involves going to the store and buying whichever brand is on sale
-
They are on stage and now they're running best film clips.
-
What about Dunaway and Beatty?
-
Did they do a bit yet?
-
You called it, bk!
-
MR BK was right!
THE SHAPE OF WATER.....
-
100% baby.
-
All of the roasted peppers have been peeled, sliced and jarred. They're sitting in a little salt now. Will add the oil in a few minutes.
My method for making roasted red peppers involves going to the store and buying whichever brand is on sale
An excellent option.
-
They just announced Shape of Water.
-
Did Beatty and Dunaway acknowledge last year.
-
I think my battery will barely last until the end. If I disappear, that's why. Great to see y'all!
Don't be stranger, we miss ya!!!
-
They just announced Shape of Water.
But who's the real winner?
-
:)
-
100% baby.
Quick! Buy a lottery ticket!
-
All of the roasted peppers have been peeled, sliced and jarred. They're sitting in a little salt now. Will add the oil in a few minutes.
My method for making roasted red peppers involves going to the store and buying whichever brand is on sale
An excellent option.
I suspect yours taste much much better
-
PHANTOM THREAD looks like the most boring film of the year.
-
Yes they just said it's better the second time around.....nice to see you again, etc.....
-
I happen to think this year's real winner is haineshisway.com - soon we will be the most popular site on all the Internet.
-
DR VIXMOM don't invite me to dinner when she comes to your house.
-
I think the sets this year were really nice.
-
Phantom Thread is HORRIBLE.
-
It was pretty boring, TCB.
-
Now that we've said that, Druxy will probably say he loved it :)
-
Page thirty-two? Really?
-
Mark Bridges costume designer wins the jet ski
-
Two hours of entertainment crammed into four hours....that's a tough job!
-
Three hours and fifty minutes! Is that one of the longest ever? I think so.
-
Okay, I gotta go nighty night.
-
That jet ski bit was at least funny.....but it did seem like a late night show bit....like the visiting the theatre.....
-
I think Wonder Wheel was worse...I did not like it at all.
-
Well, too many tributes.
-
Mark Bridges costume designer wins the jet ski
That was funny!
-
Two hours of entertainment crammed into four hours....that's a tough job!
Wasn't it Mark Twain who said he wrote a long letter because he didn't have time to write a short one?
-
Well no real surprises although a couple of upsets....none of the clips really make me want to see any of the films.....
-
I think Wonder Wheel was worse...I did not like it at all.
I have a reservation at the library and am almost dreading it. Who died and made Woody Allen Tennessee Williams?
-
DR VIXMOM don't invite me to dinner when she comes to your house.
She only comes over when we're doing girls' night, you know, doing each other's hair and make up and nails and giggling over boys
-
Three hours and fifty minutes! Is that one of the longest ever? I think so.
I think I remember one year that went over four hours.
-
Gotta crash. Nytol! XOX
-
OK, I'm outta here - 'night!
-
DR JOHN G it must have been Tennessee Williams....
-
I think Wonder Wheel was worse...I did not like it at all.
I have a reservation at the library and am almost dreading it. Who died and made Woody Allen Tennessee Williams?
Tennessee Williams?
-
LOL good then I can avoid her....but ask her what she thinks about me.....
-
DR VIXMOM - JINX
-
Time for to go to bed.....
-
Phantom Thread is HORRIBLE.
I am so ignorant of the current films that I thought the Phantom Thread was the latest Star Wars movie
-
I hope some late-night denizens stick around because a mere fifty posts from now and we go over 1000 posts and we haven't done that in YEARS. Yay us.
-
OKAY
West coast people what does ABC show now from 9-11 which is still prime time?
-
Five GUESTS.
-
Phantom Thread is HORRIBLE.
I am so ignorant of the current films that I thought the Phantom Thread was the latest Star Wars movie
I thought that when I first heard of it.
-
I think Mr. Shayne needs to make about twenty posts right NOW.
-
DR VIXMOM - JINX
You beat me by a second!
-
LOL good then I can avoid her....but ask her what she thinks about me.....
She's never said a bad word to me about you
-
Hi DR Edu. It is nice to see you at the party even if I am not participating.
-
Chairman Mao Mao is fed, the bird is put to put and the roasted peppers are done. Oh, and the Oscars are over. Time for bed.
-
I think Mr. Shayne needs to make about twenty posts right NOW.
Well answer Mike's question, he's asked you twice already
-
Good night, all.
-
I'm so glad I wasn't in the memoriam section!
Maybe they just left you out.
-
What did Shayne ask twice - what ABC is showing? I don't have TV so I don't have a clew.
-
Good night, John! Tomorrow you'll must tell us how your folks are making out now your Dad is home
-
Page thirty-three? Really? I feel strongly that we will get to page thirty.
-
But seriously, let's get over 1000 posts.
-
Wouldn't THAT be loverly and won't that just be quite a surprise to those who were errant and truant.
-
I was out and came home and caught up with the Oscars in 45 minutes. That's how it should be watched.
-
Jane can post now that the show is over.
-
Yes, Shayne, but now you have to make lots of posts to make up for not being at our partay. And, go.
-
Three hours and fifty minutes!
-
Watching the news, parts of Westchester are still without power since Friday's nor'easter ... They are expecting service to be restored by Tuesday night, just in time for Wednesday's storm
-
Yikes and a half.
-
Why is it called a nor'easter? Was the th too hard to say?
-
I gotta tell you.
-
New helper has been doing a stock check - he's finding a few things that we were supposedly completely out of.
-
All GUESTS have left the room
-
Chairman Mao Mao is fed, the bird is put to put and the roasted peppers are done. Oh, and the Oscars are over. Time for bed.
My friend Margo's neighbors have a cat named Chairman Meow. ;D
-
Did Francis McDormand mention me at all?
No, but she had a lot to say about Jack!
-
Time to feed my cat and my own face.
-
And then come back and take us over 1000. We have three hours to do it.
-
Why is it called a nor'easter? Was the th too hard to say?
We're frugal wit our word endins up her
-
OKAY
West coast people what does ABC show now from 9-11 which is still prime time?
The after show and the parties. Then we get Alec Baldwin’s new talk show.
-
New helper has been doing a stock check - he's finding a few things that we were supposedly completely out of.
Do tell! Will you let your faithful hainsies get first crack at the goodies?
-
We're getting the 11 o'clock news now ...then Alec Baldwin
-
Chas, I listened to Musical on the way home... I was laughing out loud at some of it
-
I am reliving the memory of my burger from tonight.. Ground chuck and brisket cooked medium rare on a fresh baked egg roll with cheddar cheese and a little chopped onion ( I didn't take the pickles, tomatoes or lettuce)with some kind of sauce that seem to be a mix of mayo and mustard, but it was very light and delicate ....probably the best burger I ever had
-
New helper has been doing a stock check - he's finding a few things that we were supposedly completely out of.
Keep an eye out for PETER PAN.
-
Well we're on page 34... Can post 1000 be far away?
-
Who will it be, BK, TCB, Mike or me who grabs the magic 1000 post?
-
BK has been 100% with his predictions tonight ,perhaps he can tell us
-
Maybe George because he seems to be back and Mike is gone
-
I doubt it will be me.
-
The alarm goes off in 6 hours
-
Perhaps I should think about going to bed
-
I doubt it will be me.
It might be
-
Alec Baldwin show coming on now
-
1000
-
Perhaps I should think about going to bed
Or of breaking 1000.
-
He's talking with Jerry Seinfeld, two Massapequa boys
-
Massapequa is about 12 miles from here. I dated 2 different fellas from Massapequa, both of whom were friends with Alec in high school. We used to watch him when he was doing a soap opera
-
1000
Congrats Vixmom! :D
-
Do they still call them soap operas or are they just. "Soaps"?
-
1000
Congrats Vixmom! :D
I wonder if BK will send me a sparkling prize
-
THE DOCTORS! I used to love him on that show.
-
Yes, I'll let everyone know what he's unearthed.
-
We're also going to get all the Varese and Fynsworth titles from storage and blow those out - there's just no room to keep this stuff and for what?
-
We is over 1000 posts, but if we did another 100 we'd actually enter the top ten of all-time posting days, so let's keep on truckin'.
-
I cannot listen to any more music. I am eared out.
-
We is over 1000 posts, but if we did another 100 we'd actually enter the top ten of all-time posting days, so let's keep on truckin'.
PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSH!!!!!!!
-
Of course, if I'd have put each of those "U"s in their own posts, we could be on page 78 now.
;)
-
That red carpet interview guy, George something(?), just did a sweet interview with Allison Jenney. She seems so genuine. I really love her.
-
How great having Edi here this evening.
-
And Jack stayed for the whole show!
-
So, taking into account the winners and losers tonight; what nominated film will now quickly go to rental?
-
So, taking into account the winners and losers tonight; what nominated film will now quickly go to rental?
"Lady Bird" is being released on Tuesday and "Call Me By My Name" is coming out ( ;) ) next Tuesday, the 13th.
-
I am glad that Christopher Plummer did not win the Oscar tonight. Not that I have anything against him, but personally, I didn’t agree with Kevin Spacey being cut out of the film and having the scenes reshot with Mr. Plummer.
-
So, Ladybird was a complete shut out, right?
-
Page thirty-five? Really?
-
I feel very sure we'll get to page thirty this evening.
-
We do have two hours.
-
Off to sleep.
Amazing 35 pages.
-
LADYBIRD would have been my choice for next stop - rentals.
-
So what are people on the west coast watching now that the oscars are over.
-
It did get shut out.
-
I guess the days of a film winning 7, 8 or more Oscars are over.
-
I, in case you haven't heard, do not have TV.
-
Last film with a big win was Lord of the Rings
-
I'm so glad I wasn't in the memoriam section!
Maybe they just left you out.
;D
-
So what are people on the west coast watching now that the oscars are over.
Michael, I answered that several pages back, but we got ON THE RED CARPET; THE AFTER SHOW. And now we have Alec Baldwin’s new interview show.
-
I see people.
-
35 pages, not bad 😊
-
I see people who weren't in the memoriam sequence so post away alive people, post away.
-
Surely we can get to page thirty-six.
-
So what are people on the west coast watching now that the oscars are over.
Last night's episode of Saturday Night Live.
-
Well now alarm time is 5 hours away
-
Goodnight
-
Why not just stay up? :)
-
Three hours and fifty minutes.
-
Well now alarm time is 5 hours away
I have to get up a couple of hours earlier than usual.
-
I'm taking my car in to the shop because a light in my dash board and the temperature gauge aren't working. :-\
-
Hopefully, they both can be easily fixed.
-
There is no easy fix unless we're on page thirty-six.
-
The Shadow knows.
-
Let's get this show on the road, baby.
-
Well...
-
...since we're so close...
-
PAGE THIRTY-SIX DANCE!!
-
:D
-
Made it.
-
SNL is pretty funny. ;D
-
Just had to share.
-
Page thirty-six? Really?
-
When the momentum stops at HHW, it really stops.
-
We are back to form here at haineshisway.com
-
Isn't it lovely.
-
Isn't it wonderful.
-
Isn't it rich.
-
Page thirty-seven anyone?
-
Well, I don't think we'll make it to page seventy tonight...but there's always tomorrow!
