Well, you've read the notes, the notes alerted the media, and now it is time for you to post until the alert cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FERLY!
-
Alert the media...first post after BK!
-
Today, we have a matinee of Cinder Edna, then I'll come home and ketchup on some TV that I have recorded on my DVR.
-
Oh, yesterday I gave my mom her (belated) Mother's Day card and gift of money for the local casino. She loved the casino money! :D
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Bed? We don't need no stinking bed.
-
Everyone have a good day.
-
Good morning, all!
-
It's a rather gray, damp day, and I'd just as soon return to bed and sleep late.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I don’t want to get up just yet.
-
I recall seeing HARRY & WALTER GO TO NEW YORK in a theater years ago.
Although I don't really remember the overall film that well, I do recall LOL in a sequence when they were screwing up a stage performance.
Those kinds of scenes always tickle my funny bone.
-
Yesterday, we watched a couple of Betty Grable films: SPRINGTIME IN THE ROCKIES and MOTHER WORE TIGHTS.
I really didn't care for either one, though the 2nd, at least, had a plot.
-
One can just take so much of Carmen Miranda.
-
One can just take so much of Carmen Miranda.
Is that your version of a Miranda warning?
(Is groaning on HHW allowed these days? :) )
-
HA! DR FJL!
-
Things I learned in yesterday's posts:
A cat can get a suntan under a desklamp.
VIXDAD has two pairs of new sandals.
DR JANE has a mashed potato river.
KEITH likes his cats warm.
AND TODAY:
I was going to have my graduation party here at HHW, but now I'm not..........having my graduation party OR graduating this year.
-
I think after looking on the inner webs....the store is called RALPHS without an apostrophe for some reason......
-
Today there is a BIG something or other going on in Indianapolis....I hope it is a success and nobody gets hurt....although a LOT of folks are going to get sunburned!

Good morning!

I'm meeting friends at the Macaroni Grill for lunch at noon. Exciting news, I know!

More vibes for DR vixmom!

Dental vibes for vixmom, and any other vibes as needed.

More vibes for DR vixmom!
Ditto!
-
Good morning, all.

Annabelle and I did our patrol. She was playing with me this morning. She would dart up a flight of stairs, then sniff at each door and scratch her claws on the various door mats. Then she lay down on the linoleum and rolled around. i suspect this was a means of cooling down; it's warmer in the apartment than it is outside. When I'd approach her, she'd eoher run up the stairs or eun to the other side of the building. She led me a merry chase until I caught her and brought her home.
-
Then she and Thatch and I played a game of fishie on a pole. I need to give her more exercise. My pretty baby is becoming a real Pudgy Wudgy.
-
Good morning, DR ChasSmith!
-
Had a great time in Astoria and on Roosevelt Island yesterday. No time for taking the tram across to Manhattan and back, will do that another time. Ended up walking only half or two-thirds of the island, and definitely want to return for more. Very interesting and different kind of place.
-
Good morning, DR Elmore!
-
So, following last week and yesterday walking around the city in near-90 degree heat and humidity, today is my day of rest.
-
DR George mentioned that he reheats his pizza in the toaster oven. I do this as well. I would never put pizza in the microwave. Especially since it comes out amazing in the toaster oven!
-
Sunday morning greetings!

Laura and I are all set to watch the pre-race festivities from Indianapolis, a long-time tradition in my mother’s side of the family. Richard should be home from church shortly after the race itself begins.
-
My sister told me how much Laura likes it when houseguests cook for her, so I brought a couple of recipes and had every intention of making sweet and sour chicken for dinner last night. However, the AC is not working properly here and Laura decided it was too hot to cook. We went to Tobin’s, her favorite local pizza place. Had a great meal and brought home leftovers for today’s lunch.
-
Thank you all for the vibes
-
I took the Aleve again last night and I am still pain freest the moment
-
I knew Jane was fancy but, wow! Awhole river just for making mashed potatoes is really classy
:D
-
Chas I am glad to hear you enjoyed your Roosevelt Island trip. I have never been, every time I drive in over the 59th street bridge and see the tram I think I must take that trip.
-
Back when Universal studios park in Florida was new I did ride the "tram" in their Kongfrontation ride
-
Sadly it no longer exists
-
John G how is your dad doing?
-
Pain free vibes for DR VIXMOM....or in VIXese...piano free vbies.
-
Sounds like you had fun DR CHAS SMITH.
Leftovers For Lunch....that is the name of my memoirs....
-
DR GINNY here in central Indiana, we won't get to see the race live....we get it on a tape delay tonight at 8 pm.
-
Frances Farmer covered the Indy 500 during her program, but mostly interviewed the visiting celebrities on her tv show....she did however have a fling with Tom Carnegie, the VOICE of the 500 who worked at the TV station at the same time she did.
Tom is on the right.

Remember when it was only on the radio for everybody?
-
Yes I do DR GINNY.....usually it happened the week after we got out of school for the summer!!! It was great....
I also remember when people were OUTRAGED that the race would be run on SUNDAY...now....not so much. In fact it is ALWAYS on a Sunday now....
-
The court at the French Open is red/orange! Whew! Takes some getting used on on the TeeVee screen.
Tonight at 5 p.m. EST is the Stanley Cup MEDIA DAY show....which I will enjoy....
-
YAY, Seth is on his way to check out the air conditioning!
-
Good morning.
-
I have nothing to report, except I got up before 4 a.m. and I need more coffee.
-
I'm up, I'm up - the short visit has happened and I'm FREE. Eight hours of sleep, sort of.
-
Pain free vibes for DR VIXMOM....or in VIXese...piano free vbies.

Sounds like you had fun DR CHAS SMITH.
Leftovers For Lunch....that is the name of my memoirs....
Not sure why, it's the story of MY life
-
YAY, Seth is on his way to check out the air conditioning!
That's my boss' name... I was mightily confused by your post for a moment
-
I took an unexpected nap, unfortunately I was woken by the pain in my jaw
-
I took another Aleve and I'm just waiting for it to kick in before I run to the market
-
I didn't realize we were so low on milk and OJ
-

His diagnosis will cost Laura some money and he has to come back later today. She has to go to work at the golf course soon, so we’ll deal with Seth when he returns.
-
One can just take so much of Carmen Miranda.
I agree. But I still love those old Fox musicals.
-
John G how is your dad doing?
He got out yesterday. Somehow the remote control got lost and my sister took them to Best Buy. He apparently handled the trip well.
-
Thank you, all, for the ongoing vibes. He can use them. And I certainly appreciate them.
-
Today's dancing was better. But it was so hot that I just had to stop after a little more than 90 minutes.
-
And more pain-free vibes for Vixmom.
-
I'm ushering for a concert of Mexican pop artists, Moenia and Bellanova. I have a feeling it'll be a heavy crowd, but they still need 20 volunteers to sign up to help out. That usually means a lot of work. Oh well. THat's parrt of the fun of it. I really don't need to hear the concert.
-
John G - More vibes for your Dad.
-
Is there a millstone alert for JohnG?
-
Is there a millstone alert for JohnG?
Could be.
-
Vibes, vibes, and more vibes.
-
Back from what turned out to be a three-and-a-half mile jog - decided to continue going west for another half-mile.
-
From DR George:
(http://I now only reheat leftover pizza in my toaster oven. I spray the crust with olive oil and add extra cheese and it always delish!)
I used to reheat pizza in a toaster oven when we had one. If there had been time it definitely would have been in the oven.
-
Today we saw "Avengers: Infinity War" :) :) :)
-
I wish we didn't have to wait for the 2nd part of this movie.

I am sure she appreciated how you turned cash into a clever gift :)

Darn. Will you see the oral surgeon tomorrow?
SENDING MORE VIBES YOUR TOOTH IS SAVED!

Thank you, all, for the ongoing vibes. He can use them. And I certainly appreciate them.
VIBES FOR YOUR FATHER, YOU, AND YOUR FAMILY!

Starting to watch the new Murder on the Orient Express. The snow scenes are refreshing on a 100+ day. The use of period music like Cole Porter's I Get a Kick Out of You is lovely. The whole thing is entertaining (except for Poirot's mustache) and completely unnecessary.
The original was better so far in almost every single way.
-
There was just a scene of Poirot walking in the snow on top of the train and not wearing a winter coat. Poirot was not impervious to the elements. In fact, the elements often were a source of irritation to him.
-
What is this page three malarky?
-
After that long jog I felt I deserved a nice meal, so I had a really good bacon cheeseburger at Jerry's Deli with my usual side Caesar salad. I looked up a quarter pound bacon cheeseburger's calorie count - it's really pretty low considering how filling that is: Under 500 calories, really more like 450. So, very friendly and good protein.
-
Guess I'll watch something now. Netflix is really beginning to irritate me - whatever algorithms they're using are ridiculous. The movies that show up in the lists are things I would never watch and there's no way to go through each genre with full lists because it's just too damn time consuming.
-
A warm Saturday evening and the walking path, the parks, and the beach were rather busy.
-
Still warm today.
I have to find a pair of black pants - since my coat was changed from navy blue to black....for my NYC policeman....
I am sure I have a pair in the closet somewhere.
-
Stanley Cup Media Day was most entertaining.
-
Ninety degrees predicted for tomorrow....tomorrow....
-
So sad to be all alone in the world....shoo show shoo show....
-
Page THREE? REALLY?
-
Enough with this stuff and nonsense. You errant and truant people are going to have a rude awakening when I send a plucked, dead chicken to your doorsteps, covered in pickled beets and whipped cream. You errant and truant people will RUE the day.
-
Oh, yes, you will RUE the day.
-
What is this page four malarky.
-
One can just take so much of Carmen Miranda.
There's no such thing as too much Carmen Miranda (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEVAEYf2cSM)!
-
;)

The concert tonight was three hours of the loudest noise I think I've ever encountered. It was two Mexican pop groups, one was called Bellanova, which I kept hearing as Telenovela. The only song I know was a nostalgic version of Besame Mucho. Even earplugs didn't help.
-
But the audience in attendance consumed a lot of alcohol, so they were largely in a happy mood.
-
They knew the songs. They sang along.
-
The orchestra floor was turned into a dance floor and about 500 or so people were down to have fun.
-
Just don't make me listen.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
Ninety degrees predicted for tomorrow....tomorrow....
Wow.
-
I'm watching the rest of Murder on the Orient Express. Making Poirot an action hero chasing after crooks was truly silly.
-
Thank you, all, for the ongoing vibes. He can use them. And I certainly appreciate them.
~~~Continued Vibes for John G.'s Father!!~~~
Leslie Odom Jr. isn't given much to do.
She did! And she was very surprised! ;D
Just don't make me listen.
Yet you volunteered to do just that ;)
I figured you would agree with me. I hope the second part is as good as this one.
I hate it when concerts and shows are too loud! :P
Sometimes before watching a movie we will find a recap or two to read. We didn't do it this time and were very pleased how well we did. Funny though, the only character we couldn't place was the same. We both forgot who Winter Soldier is.
-
Just don't make me listen.
Yet you volunteered to do just that ;)
I stood out in the lobby. It was blessed relief.
Wow.
99 here.
Actually, I did too!
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
Finished with my viewing. I'm determined to be in bed by one.
-
By one, do you hear me.
-
What is this page five malarky?
Well, today's Cinder Edna went really well. We had a great audience and ended our third weekend on a good note (F-natural).
-
And I have several plucked chickens here along with the pickled beets and whipped cream for those who will RUE the day.
-
I had to look up why Black Widow is now a blond and why Captain America grew a beard.
-
Well, today's Cinder Edna went really well. We had a great audience and ended our third weekend on a good note (F-natural).
Very nice.
-
After today's show, I took myself to Well 80 and had myself another Impossible Burger. It's still really good, but it does fall apart pretty easily.
-
Just don't make me listen.
Yet you volunteered to do just that ;)
I stood out in the lobby. It was blessed relief.
That's good you were able to stay in the lobby.
-
Branagh should have made this a musical. Almost everyone in the cast -- Branagh, Penelope Cruz, Judy Dench, Michelle Pfeiffer, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Leslie Odom -- has done at least one musical. It might have helped. And I did like Michelle Pfeiffer singing the theme song at the end.
-
Ninety degrees predicted for tomorrow....tomorrow....
Wow.
99 here.
Oh my. I thought 76 was warm.
-
Then, I went shopping at Costco and a couple of other places, then came home.
Veggie burgers can be like that.
Then, I went shopping at Costco and a couple of other places, then came home.
I meant to stop st Costco to get a chicken for tomorrow's dinner but never made it there. Fortunately Bruce has kindly offered to deliver one to my door.
Thanks Bruce!
-
-
I've been watching Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
-
Actually, binging is more accurate.
-
I've watched three episodes tonight, and have three left on my DVR.
...then, I'll be done with this season.
