Congrats on getting your set designer, BK!
And the word of the day is: CONGERIES!
Many of the plants have died in the heat. The two pattypan squashes are gone. The tomato is barely hanging on. The peppers are sad, though I have two small jalapenos that are almost ready. But I've got cucumbers and an amazing amount of tomatillos. I harvested the last from the first wave a couple of days ago and now there are four that are almost as large as the ones I picked.
Vibes for TCB. It's hard to believe that it's been a year since Sandy died. How are you feeling about that?
Today is Cole Porter's 127th birthday.

Thanks, John. It doesn't seem possible that an entire year has gone by. I still half-expect to hear from him at any time.
When do you leave for Hawaii?
Nice font. Very deco.Page Two

Budget vibes for MR BK & Co. Congrats on getting the set designer you wanted.
Is THE STAIRCASE about that writer in the Carolinas who found his wife dead at the bottom of the stairs? I have a connection to that case.....
ANNIE went well last night....Vixen the new Sandy was great....although Lulu heard her music and thought she was supposed to be onstage....
Housework is finished. The floors and litter are clean, the humidifier and purifiers are chugging up a storm, the apartment halls patrolled, Annabelle has declared the purifier carton her new home, the babies had their deli turkey noon treat, and I'm ready for a lie-down.
The Crepe Myrtle is beautiful.
I had some lower flowers earlier this spring (it is still spring) and thought that was it. Then this wave of flowers came in this week. Just beautiful. And the tree was a volunteer. Some thoughtful bird planted it for me.

The curtain speech was endured rather than received, so we are tweaking it for tonight....
Two down seven to go.
The Class of 1968 presented a 50th anniversary gift of almost 6 million dollars to Miami University at last night's dinner.
Ginny, great photo of Richard.
I think I broke a toe, but I have no idea how or when.
Here's Richard right after he received his Class of '68 commemorative medallion and shook the hand of the Miami University president last night:

Oh, my! There's a torrential downpour happening right now in Tumwater!

It's a big day at West 82nd Street: Annabelle's first hairball. Yuck!

Obviously, there are some members of the class who are not retired public school teachers married to retired librarians...
Right now, the rains have passed and it's quite sunny in Tumwater.

Did you push her?
Here's part of Magnificat Rescue's update on Mousey:
We started getting pictures this morning and then we talked to Joyce and to her younger daughter. The meeting between Mousey and their other cat, Princess, will be tomorrow, because they wisely want to do a slow introduction. In the meantime, Mousey is downstairs, in the room with the computer and the recliner. As a result, the entire family troops up and down the stairs to spend time with Mousey.
Mousey is doing splendidly. He is eating well and using his litter box. He was a bit shy last night and hid under the desk. Today, he is busy taking possession of his new family. They cannot get over how affectionate he is and how well he fits in, as if he had always known them. The minute one of them sits on the recliner, Mousey leaps into their lap. They talk to him, telling him how happy they are to have him, and he laps up every word and rubs against them to show he understands what he means to them.

Hey, George, did you know that the Red Wind now sells gift cards? I don't know if they can be used for gambling, but I would assume so. The only real difference is that a gift card would not expire after 30 days.
My sweet tooth is in real danger. The Safeway Bakery is now making Nanaimo bars!
Wae-Ling and I went on a hike today. I left my camera at home. So of course, we saw two snakes and a gila monster.

Don't you hate it when that happens??

I didn't know that. My mom has already used the tickets that I gave her, so maybe I'll keep the gift card idea in mind for my dad's birthday.
Page five must wive it wealthily in Padua.
I had to look up Nanaimo bars. I should be safe from temptation.

Ooo! :D I wonder if the Safeways around here are making them!

I think the way you presented your mother's gift was more fun.

I sometimes eat coconut in my food, as with the ANZAC cookies I bake, but I am not a big fan of it. I had to avoid it when I was young. The bars look like they might be too sweet.
What part of the bar don’t you like?
I really wanted some Ben & Jerry’s for dessert, but I resisted the urge.
Mega voice vibes
I have begun a new book.

I think the one in Lacey makes them.
The first time I had the chicken risotto it was great - then they changed something and it wasn't nearly as good.
One must never resist the urge for Ben and Jerry's.
