Well, you've read the notes, the notes welcomed in July, and now it is time for you to post until the July cows come home.

And the word of the day is: METIER!
-
First post after BK.

BRAIN ON FIRE sounds wonderful! 8)

Today, I'm going to the union meeting that I thought was last week. I have confirmed that it's happening today!
;)
-
After that, my friend Margo are going to a movie. I don't remember if we'd decided on which one, but I'll find out soon enough.
-
And now, time for bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning to all
-
Happy Canada Day! 151 years young.
-
Good morning, all! It's 82 F and already too hot in Manhattan. It's supposed to get to 98 today.
-
I slept very poorly. Thatch slept most of the night with me. Annabelle arrived around 5:00 with the sun.
-
It is brutally hot here today too. Right now there is a humidex of 37C which is already crazy. I think that is 100F. What the heck? I am worried about people being outside of Canada Day as it is supposed to get much hotter.

DR Jennifer, you were close. It's 98.6F.
This will do it for you every time!

Those in the hotter climates, stay cool.
-
Good morning, all.
-
These days are definitely hell. Everyone be careful, drink liquids, stay cool!
-
DR Ginny, I look forward to next Saturday, too!
You and DH Richard especially need to stay cool while in the city. Not that you’re any more susceptible to the heat than anyone else, but you’ll be out and about, doing things.
-
Yes, we talked about doing Mexican and DR Elmore had a good place in mind. If that’s agreeable with everyone, I know I’ll be delighted with it. If not, I’m open to whatever. But are we doing this before or after?
Was vixmom the holdout on the Mexican? I would advise that a Mexican restaurant’s menu includes all the things you’ve ever enjoyed from the fast food ones, and more. It’s all just better prepared, as at any kind of restaurant.
I’ve also been hankering for a return to Brooklyn Diner, in case that rings anybody’s bell.

Hi, anyone who posts on All That Chat:
Someone asked just a little while ago:
Web Series about terrible musical ideas
Posted by: Cosmik 10:11 am EDT 07/01/18
Hive mind, help! There was a web series a few years ago in which someone was pitching the worst ideas ever for musicals - they included songs and everything. I remember watching it, but can't for the life of me remember what it was called or who was in it.
Help me remember? If anyone can, you can!
They must be talking about BK's series "Outside the Box, right? Maybe someone can post the link for them, because I can't
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDzawV6B1vU
I also put this on castrecl. "Cosmik" has to be asking about BK's series, right?

With the new "On a Clear Day" off Broadway, there was this VERY exclusive interview by a Vassar student with the ghost of Alan Jay Lerner, nervously haunting the Vassar rehearsal of the 2010 iteration.
"What Did it Lack That It Has Now?" sung by the very nervous late Alan Jay Lerner, Vassar 2010 (I guess I was trying to channel Jack Jones)

I had suggested this at 51st and 9th: http://www.arribaarribawest.com
The food's good, and I haven't been there in ages. I just called them and they do not take reservations. The nice lady said just to come up.
-
Good morning, all.

Two!
-
Good to see you back, JRand. More vibes for you and your family.
-
Great one, Fred.
-
It's been a wild time since last night. I went out dancing with Joy and a few friends. After we dropped off Joy, she discovered that her husband and her sister had gone to the ER because of problems from his surgery. I went back and took her to visit Peter. The scene was chaotic. The first blood test wasn't conclusive because the blood clotted. So, they did another test but somehow the blood never made it to the lab. What they could tell was that he has an infection, which means they're going to keep him overnight. So, I took Joy and her sister, who had gone to the ER with Peter, home at around midnight.
This morning I learned that they transferred Peter to the hospital where he had had the surgery. I'm going to take her there in a little bit.
-
So, your vibes would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I had an easy iTunes project lined up, not more than 30 minutes, I thought. One thing led to another and it's taken me five hours today to finish it. Damn!

Have had two telephonic conversations, am listening to music and relaxing, have shaved and will shortly shower, and then I shall be on my way to sound check and then show.

Well, DR ChasSmith, I've changed into something I've never worn in NYC before - short pants. They're pedal pusher length and I have some longer ones that Richart calls my Hobbit pants. I won't wear them to the theatre or to church, but for daytime out & about, I have no qualms.

I took shorts to Chicago and never wore them. I think I won't complain about that.

Ginny recently I have taken to wearing capris, they fall just blew my knee.
Short enough to be cooler than jeans and they don't ride up as shorts are wont to do
-
...and we're here! We have a nice 14th floor room with a spectacular view of 30 Rock.
Where are you staying this time?
DR TCB, we're at The Hotel @ Times Square on 46th between 5th and 6th. We've stayed here several times and like it very much.
-
tiday we attended a surprise 50th birthday party for my sister in laws sister
-
It was held at an Italian restaurant not far from home
-
Did you fly into LaGuardia or Newark?
We had a beautiful flight into LaGuardia. Nice glimpse of Sandy Hook, then up the Hudson with a big turn over The Bronx.
-
The restaurant doesn't normally open to. 4 on Sundays and her parents had arranged for us to be there from 12-4
-
Vixdad hates Italian food and restaurants in general as he is not a fan of garlic and HATES the smell of Parmesan cheese
-
Ginny recently I have taken to wearing capris, they fall just blew my knee.

Shedding the compression stockings helped, too...
-
The set menu was a clam appetizer, an antipasto dish of assorted marinated peppers and artichokes, and olives and stuff and some kind of deep fried risotto balls in a spicy sauce
-
We skipped those
-
Then there was a salad of mixed greens ( and reds) no iceberg or to sties to be seen, in and oil and vinegar dressing
-
We tasted that
-
Then there was the ziti in a really good but garlically sauce. When the waiters came by with the bowls of Parmesan vixdad realized he had forgotten something in the car
-
It took him 15 minutes to "find" it by which time the pasta course had been cleared.
-
We had a choice of three entrees, chicken Parmesan, baked salmon or hangar steak with mushroom sauce
-
We chose the steak which was excellent if over garlically
-
Then the birthday girl opened her gifts
-
We had chocolate strawberry cake with whipped topping and came home
-
Vixdad commented, "that wasn't as bad as I expected "
-
High praise indeed
-
Welcome to NY Ginny and Richard!!

Very.

I decided not to cook but instead ordered out for pizza
-
I went out to collect it. The air is so warm you can feel it caressing your skin

The air is full of fireflies
-
That sounds lovely.

And the skies look like the closing at Disney

Choreographer Gillian Lynne has died at the age of 92. I was never a fan of her work.
She was cited in Sir Ken Robinson's famous TED talk and his book, Element, as an example of someone who achieved success by following her passion. I was not a fan of her work on Cats and legend has it Michael Bennett did the better work on How Now Dow Jones.

Starting to watch The Greatest Showman. Ow. What a waste of Michelle Williams. What a boring score. Nothing in the first four songs approaches the least of Barnum's riches.

I'm ushering for an outdoor showing of this next Friday.

DRs TCB and Jane: I relayed your messages to Kate and she appreciates your sentiments!

I can’t wait to read about tonight’s show.

Vixmom, don’t be nervous about trying the enchiladas. I think you will love them. Try one chicken and one cheese. Yummy!!
-
Thank you to everyone for getting us to page 6.

After that, my friend Margo are going to a movie. I don't remember if we'd decided on which one, but I'll find out soon enough.
We went to see The Incredibles 2. It was very good.
-
Thank you to everyone for getting us to page 6.
I wasn't here to help. My bad.

But I'm here now.

The union meeting this afternoon went quite well.

A lot of issues about our upcoming Classification and Compensation study were discussed.

I was hoping it would be.
-
The first official meeting with the consultants will be August 7.
-
We've laid some of the groundwork, but now we'll wait until after that August 7th meeting before we union members meet again.
-
After the movie, Margo and I went to The Olive Garden for dinner.
-
They have a new (limited time) special where if you order an adult entree and eat it in the restaurant, you can order one of three pasta dishes already prepared to go for only $5!
-
So, what did you have?
-
For my dinner, I had the Chicken Margherita (590 calories and only 9 grams of carbs!) and ordered the the Five Cheese Ziti al Forno (don't ask...I'll DEFINITELY need to eat this over several days) for the $5 take home dish.
-
And what did you take home for $5.00?
-
And what did you take home for $5.00?
The Five Cheese Ziti al Forno.

Great minds think alike.

Margo had their new Loaded Pasta Chips. She didn't care for them. I liked them more than she did.
