Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 116 degrees, and now it is time for you to post until the 116 cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PLANTIGRADE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after BK and Dino.
-
It's only 78.3°F here in my bedroom.

It's only 78.3°F here in my bedroom.
Ha! It is a cool 77.4 degrees in my bedroom.
-
Years ago, I was given a book of Carmen Miranda paper dolls and I'm pretty sure that all her costumes were based on real costumes that she had worn in her movies.

I'm jealous!

Oh, one other cool thing from last night’s paper doll dinner. Sharry always looks smashing when she is dressing up for the evening. Last night, she was wearing her new Bernadette Peters’ Dolly chocker that she won at auction. It was worn by Ms. Peters at a performance in April.
-
She auctions off one every week with the money going to Broadway Barks.

And you didn't take a picture??
-
No, I didn’t, but everyone else there did.
-
I’ll try to get one to show you.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
I'm off to bed now, too.
Have a good day, all!

Finished listening to a duet album with Bill Evans and guitarist Jim Hall - sublime. Now listening to a live album - very well recorded, though. I don't usually like the live albums but this audience is VERY quiet.
-
And I am back. It is 60 degrees here now so windows are open....until it gets a bit warmer....then the air comes on!
We didn't get anywhere near 116 degrees....yesterday was only in the 80's.
Today we are bringing Mom home to sit on the shelf with Dad until they both go out to Sugar Grove, the family resting place. I am paying off the funeral costs that were in excess of the insurance, and hopefully all of my brothers and sisters will pay me back. Well, in fact, two of them have already paid their share....
-
I am hoping I can convert this mov. file to an MP4 so I can finish THE MOUSETRAP trailer & slideshow....
This pain in the neck girl who did the trailer didn't do a very good job, but she tried....she kept saying "For Annie we had a trailer and then we had photos and bios and everything...."
And I said: "Are you doing the photos and bios on slides...." And she said...."Uh....no.....but we had them for Annie...."
And I said: "Uh...yea....because I did them...."
She doesn't know it yet, but she is going to do the slides and trailer both for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST....since she's so talented...and things just....well....happen!

Saturday morning greetings! We went to the truck on our corner for ice cream cones last night and turned in early. Taking it easy this morning, too.

Continued NYC Vibes for DR GINNY & RICHARD.
HHW gathering vibes for those in attendance today!
Thank you, DR JRand! I'm glad to see you back.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I woke with a sore throat, so I guess I am getting a summer cold.
-
I have several things here to accomplish before I leave for this afternoon's show.
-
No word about the fifth floor neighbor. Several of us in the building think he's a bit psycho.
When DR ChasSmith first offered me those wonderful 5-drawer filing cabinets, I had to toss a 4-drawer one, and I posted a "free filing cabinet" offer by the mailboxes. The 5th floor ass said he would take it, led me on for a week about coming by to look at it, and then on the day that our DR ChasSmith came to Manhattan with the cabinet and I was desperate to get the old cabinet out of my apartment, the neighbor said, oh, I wanted a wooden one. I hope he never returns to the building.
-
One thing, though: no one's talking about my bathtub incident.

One thing, though: no one's talking about my bathtub incident.
:D
-
Good morning. It was a long hard day yesterday
-
When I get home Vixdad offered me a dinner at ihob
-
I gladly agreed
-
When we got home vixdad offered to make tea and I sat in my recliner
-
I never did see the tea
-
Or the rest of the evening
-
When I opened my eyes it was this morning
-
But now I am well rested for today
-
My phone is charging
-
There is a nice pot of tea brewing
-
And once we have had our tea I shall shower and dress aNd head out into the day
-
I must hit the bank and the gas station before heading into The City
-
I like the heat
-
But 116 might be a bit more than I would be happy with
-
Good morning, all.
-
OMG, what a cool refreshing morning.
I know people in Southern California would like to be saying that today.
-
I’m taking the train in today, arriving Grand Central at about 12:50 pm. I’ll see yuz all at New World when I get over there, probably by 1:30 latest.
-
I have my printed ticket. Glad DR Elmore found his. What I do is print them as soon as they’re purchased, then put them away someplace “safe”, and by the time show date rolls around, I’ve usually forgotten which “safe” place it was. Of course you can always go back to the email - as long as that hasn’t disappeared...
-
The Fifth Floor Ass needs to be the title of something.
-
A chapter title, at least.
-
The four or five years I lived in my little Beverly Hills apartment (on Clark Drive, one block west of Robertson, one north of Wilshire), I had been foolish enough to take this otherwise nice little place that didn’t have AC, and it was horrible during any kind of heat wave.
A later place (on Mentone in Palms) had it but it was a lousy unit that they never could get to blow sufficiently cold. Also horrible.
Everywhere else was fine, including the Redondo Beach one at King Harbor which didn’t have it and didn’t need it. But I’ve always credited those other two experiences as the source of my lifelong obsession, or just plain insistence, on always having good, well functioning AC.
-
Anyway, enough of me. See you all (you know who you are) later!

Traveling into The City vibes for DRs Vixmom and ChasSmith!
Traveling to Midtown vibes for DR Elmore!

T.O.D.
While we were on our cruise last week, they had a fantastic guy (Phil Westbrook) playing piano and singing in the lounge every night. Virtually any song you wanted to hear, he knew. Told some great stories, too.
Visit my FB page and you'll see a photo him w/me.

Greetings from the train at Southeast, NY.
-
—where I accidentally caught an earlier train, which then proceeded to sit there and leave the station 15 minutes late.
But I’m still 15 minutes ahead of schedule, so ... hey.
-
Hey!
-
I am sorry I fell asleep last night in the middle of the paper doll convention conversation. I was tired enough that I slept until 7:45.
-
The real people Titanic dolls sound far more interesting than movie ones.
-
Hey!
Hey! We skipped the crowded breakfast room at our hotel and ventured over to Junior’s in Schubert Alley for breakfast. Not wanting to backtrack, we’re now relaxing in the 8th floor lobby of the Marriott Marquis.
-
I hope to see a photo of Sharry in her choker.
-
Cute photo DR Geor6.

You learned your lesson ling before I did. No A/C in Reseda, NJ, MA, PA, MI. It was the house in CT with air that finally got me saying I would not buy a house without it again.

Did everyone hear about DR ELMORE's bathtub incident?
It was ghastly....it was just ghastly.....

Movin’ on now toward the theatre...

Well, not too ghastly as the ceiling did not fall down ;)

This is true DR JANE.

I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep with one final disturbing dream - the others were all fine.
-
Good afternoon. I can't remember what show the regulars are seeing today, but I am sure it is wonderful.
-
Nick had breakfast around eight this morning, then he and I went back to bed until 11:30 a.m.
-
I don't remember the last time I stayed in bed that late, when I wasn't sick.

Mental illness does not apply.

Yesterday was a long day for me.
-
I left for Tukwila at about 1:15, and got home late.

I am trying to respond to some overdue emails.

The temps are in the mid-seventies.
-
Well the B I G bedroom is now ready for me to move in.....but I don't have my HD TV in there yet....so I may postpone it for a few days....
But it's ready....

I am moving from a twin bed to a KinG SizE B E D......I will probably get lost.

I don't listen to much solo piano music, but I do enjoy concert videos of Marvin Hamlisch and Victor Borge. :) And Bobby Short can be added to my list.

I've never lived in a place that had air conditioning, just my work and my cars have had it. I really haven't needed it too much. It's gotten warm up here in my bedroom, but never unbearably so.

This is cool! The Olympia chapter of PFLAG made their own PSA. My sister and niece are on the board. I'm in one of the pictures, at right about 35 seconds:
https://youtu.be/2r5WZuAh1PY (https://youtu.be/2r5WZuAh1PY)
-
It really cooled down today - only 102.
-
I've been relaxing - set another person for both the Sherman event and the Kritzerland show.
-
Air conditioning is on as it was eight-two in here when I got up.
-
Listening to Miss Sassy - Sarah Vaughan, the albums where I actually love her voice - a Mercury two-fer with arrangements by Quincy Jones - Vaughan with Violins (all ballads) and Vaughan with Voices. The CD title is Misty. Really great.
-
I am having dinner with folks, so that happens at five-thirty, so I'll first go to the mail place to see if anything's there.
-
And here's the complete 2018 Capitol City Pride Parade (https://youtu.be/uTjSGCQdfhg). It's a little over an hour long, but if you jump to about 45 minutes and 2 seconds, you'll see me walking with the aforementioned PFLAG Olympia group!

Well, I need to be going. I have a few errands to run, then I'll be back.

Very nice, George.

That is a big difference. California King or regular King?

But not a king which is rather large.

I am home, DR ChasSmith is on his way to Grand Central, and DR vixmom may be with DR Ginny and Richard checking out an evening show at TKTS. We all loved Desperate Measures and former DR Ben joined us at the theatre after the show to go to Arriba Arriba! with us for dinner.
-
DR vixmom had a pork and a chicken enchiladas suizasm her first enchiladas. I can testify to that.

Hello!
-
Such a beautiful day in the DC area. 79 degrees right now. I guess it won't last too long, though. 95 predicted for Tuesday.
-
Sorry to hear how hot it is in the LA area. I spoke with my friend Paul, who lives in Fullerton. I just checked. It's currently 108 degrees. And....he doesn't have air conditioning!
-
I don't think I could live without air conditioning. Of course, we didn't have it in Buffalo when I lived there, but now one brother and sister Catherine have it. Just found out the other brother doesn't have it in his new location.
-
Paul and I are planning our annual October NYC trip. We just ordered tickets for Carousel and The Donna Summer musical.
-
Are there photos from today's NYC gathering?
-
DR vixmom had a pork and a chicken enchiladas suizasm her first enchiladas. I can testify to that.
But did she like them?
Yes, most important. I never wanted a pork enchilada. Even before we became vegetarians my enchilada of choice was cheese. DR John I never saw a spinach enchilada until years later when we were in Scottsdale.

Poor guy. Ours friends in Santa Clarita registered their backyard in the shade at 117 degrees.

Hello, everyone.
-
A very strange thing just happened. I was trying to catch up on the posts. The first post I saw was from former DR Jose. Great! He's back! But as I read the other posts things just didn't make sense to me. DR Ron was there, and Jane, but something was wrong. I looked at the date: 2012! WHAT??! I have no idea how I pulled up 2012. All is well now, though.
-
It was 102 here yesterday. My little AC just can't keep up. And this bod can't handle hot weather.
-
I, too, enjoyed Vixmom's story of the shirt dollars. Photographic evidence would be appreciated.
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.

When I don't have a WiFi connection I default to a date in March. I completely understand your confusion ;D

We are thinking of seeing SOLO tomorrow. Doing a search doesn't help. If you saw the movie please let me know your reaction.
-
Finding relief from the heat vibes to DR jeanne.
-
Richard and I are back from a delightful day. As DR Elmore said, we and DR Vixmom went to TKTS, where she got a seat for HELLO, DOLLY and we got SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE. I hope she enjoyed her show as much as we did ours. One of the producers, Richard Frankel, sat in front of us and was very personable.
-
Now I'm hoping DR Vixmom gets home safely. And DR ChasSmith, too.
-
And here I am. Home, dead tired, but having had a wonderful day!
-

Thanks for checking in, DR ChasSmith!

DR vixmom had a pork and a chicken enchiladas suizasm her first enchiladas. I can testify to that.
But did she like them?
She did !
-
And I have just arrived home!
-
I lucked into the most wonderful seat at TKTS 7 row dead center orchestra, and the people directly in front of me were short
-
And it was 50% off
-
The show was beautiful, although Ms Peters did a little more scene chewing than was necessary
But the crowd loved it so what do I know?
-
Ginny I covet those dresses
-
Desperate Measures was terrific
-
In fact when I saw it at the TKTS booth tonight I was tempted to go back
-
Dinner was almost as good as the company and conversation
-
There are a few pictures on my phone but I am too tired now to figure out hiow to upload them
-
Chas took a number of pictures so hopefully he will post them
-
Well it's nearly 1 am and I am assisting minister in the morning so nighty night
-
Had a nice dinner at Hugo's although it's so hit and miss there with pasta papa, which literally gets smaller with each visit. And they brought my small Caesar salad WITH the pasta instead of before it, didn't dress it as I asked them to, didn't put on the extra cheese, didn't bring the cheese for the pasta papa, which wasn't nearly as good as it was last week. But the worst was apparently at five-thirty all these disgusting Studio City entitled families show up as if they were at Bob's Big Boy, and these people do not care WHAT their little snot-nosed kiddies do instead of screaming, running around the restaurant, and bothering everyone. And the parents do not care and I suspect if someone actually took them on about it, they'd film it and put it on YouTube with no context, but they're wrong, not the people who are annoyed.
-
Now I'm listening to some more Claudine Longet who is charming, then it will be Bill Evans then more Sassy.
-
I watched the extra included with the Scarlett Empress Blu-ray - a 1971 interview with Dietrich on Swedish TV, done directly after her doing two concerts. She's completely charming, which is more than I can say for the two Swedish fishes who are interviewing her, who talk over her, who can't form a coherent question - but she's patient and fun throughout. She looks amazing - she was seventy at the time.
-
And here I am. Home, dead tired, but having had a wonderful day!
Thanks for checking in, DR ChasSmith!
I second that.
-
DR vixmom had a pork and a chicken enchiladas suizasm her first enchiladas. I can testify to that.
But did she like them?
She did !
Will you order enchiladas again?
-
I lucked into the most wonderful seat at TKTS 7 row dead center orchestra, and the people directly in front of me were short
Perfect.
-
And it was 50% off
Excellent.

I am guessing a lot 😊
-
Good evening.
-
A rather lazy day today.
-
Nick and I got up at a little after eight. I fed him breakfast, and then we both decided to go back to bed.
-
The next thing I knew it was 11:15!
-
One more post.
-

-
I did work on the book this afternoon.
-
I, also, wrote a long email to a friend.
-
I got a text from Tracy around five, asking if I wanted to go to dinner at Harbor Lights.
-
Unfortunately, I had already eaten dinner.
-
So, i went into the bedroom around 7:00.
-
The cable box on my living room TV died a couple of weeks ago.

I could not get the font to change on Post #150. I don’t know what I did wrong.
In your post, you have "[ font = Arial Black ][ size = 34pt ]" (without the quotes or spaces), but you don't have the code after your text to end them: "[ /size ][ /font ]"

Well, I guess I might as well go to sleep.
