Well, you've read the notes, the notes were cold and in-n-out, and now it is time for you to post until the cold cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BRAVURA!
-
First post after BK.
-
How much will the tickets be for the Sherman show?
-
Wow, the topic of the day is a tough one.
-
Possibly the album by Mrs. Miller back in the 1960’s.
-
Well, Ant-Man and the Wasp was pretty good.
-
DR TCB, I hope all is well with Betzy.
-
Well, Ant-Man and the Wasp was pretty good.
Good though I am not sure I like the look of the Wasp ;D
-
After the movie, Margo and I went to The Rock Wood Fired Pizza (https://www.therockwfp.com). I had the Caesar salad with chicken. That was pretty good, also.
-
DR TCB, I hope all is well with Betzy.
Thank you, I hope so, too. I am sure the problem involves one of her daughters, who is Trouble with a very capital “T.”

The last few times we had pizza was at the Rock Wood near us.

Not that I am keen on ants either ;)

Ditto to that! I haven't heard a lot of her stuff, but I've heard a few things. I'd also add Laura's favorite, Wing, to the list.

Ants are featured prominetly in the movie.

But no uncles?
-
And now, I need to go to sleep. Good night, Tom and Jane.
Have a good day, all!
-
But no uncles?
Actually, none whatsoever.
-
;)

Good night George.

Good night, George.
-
Good night, Jane.

The City of Beverly Hills made it a free concert - so free. One of the reasons it sold out in an instant.
-
Good morning, all!

TOD:
Albums from William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and Patty Duke come to mind. Cybill Shepherd Does It ... to Cole Porter is another.
-
Tab Hunter has died.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Best travel vibes to DR Ginny and her DH!
-
I've had some weird albums, but not the more well known ones like the Shatner.
Didn't Lee Marvin do one?
Oh man. There are a couple of really famous ones that I'm totally blanking on right now.

Thank you, DR Jane! Not too late at all - we’re at the airport, where our gate has changed twice since we arrived. If they make us move again, we won’t be happy.
-
Safe Travel Vibes to Ginny and Richard!
Thank you, DR TCB!
-
Have a great trip, Ginny and Richard! No more gate change vibes, too!

Sorry John Cullum wasn't in WAITRESS when you saw it.

I can watch that over and over (which we in New York actually did in the 1970s, given how often those ads ran back then, with the fields of Long Island standing in for the fields of Virginia. And the "Ease on Down the Road" ad for THE WIZ ran a lot, too, and was around the same time.)

Thanks, DR FJL - sorry we missed you on this trip!

I am still around.....just working on stuff..... Soon the Mousetrap will be open and that will help with my time management.

That was fun since I mostly know him from Northern Exposure.

For the heck of it, given that i'm back (I'll now be in NYC for a long time) from so much sudden traveling.

I didn't read the rest of yesterday's posts when I got home last night. I'm so sorry to hear about Jed's father dying, and on his birthday. :'(

I mostly agree with it. Although I do enjoy Polly's peach preserves a great deal (or the Smucker's equivalent)
-
I loved in THE ACT when she became Michelle Craig accepting the applause rather than Liza. I think it was the terrific staging of her scenes with Barry Nelson that made that work.
-
And of course, their acting, not just the staging!!!
-
And of course, their acting, not just the staging!!!
So, was that the work of Scorsese, Gower Champion or Fred Ebb?
-
I'm up, I'm up - was up at ten-thirty after six and a half hours of not enough sleep. I then had to do a lot of morning stuff, but thankfully David Siegel, the wonderful orchestrator of The Sherman Brothers Album had all his charts saved on the computer, so we now have what we need from there, since we couldn't find my box of charts, and having the files enables us to change keys easily. So, that's good. I sent off my tentative show order and it seems pretty good and the show itself should come in at about one-hour and fifty minutes so with intermission about 2:05, which is perfect.
-
Thinking about trying an interesting sounding new fish jernt not too far from here - fried catfish, you know, right up my alley.
-
BK - I saw your post on the Los Angeles Theaters page, and began following it. Any other such pages or groups along those lines that are particularly good? I’m sure I could find a few to my liking, but I always appreciate recommendations.
-
Thank you, DRs George and John G, for the travel vibes.
We are HOME!
-
ChasSmith, that's the best of them. There are others, but they're filled with idiots - there's something called you knew you grew up in Hollywood if... and several others with that name but different locations. It's all people asking idiot questions like "anyone remember Hollywood Blvd?" I mean, you want to beat these people with a stick. And right now there are a few others I'd like to beat with a stick for the Sherman Event - I've been dealing with that drama all morning - I'm bored of people whining and being "overwhelmed" like this is only about them. I don't sit here and whine because I'm having to book the rehearsals, which is not my damn job, or do all the crap that I'm doing every day in every way - that is what I have to do and I do it.
-
I went to this fish place called My Fish Place and had two fried catfish filets, lobster mac-and-cheese, and cole slaw. The catfish was fantastic as was the mac-and-cheese. Cole slaw was not my fave but everything else was fresh as can be and stellar and it was only ten minutes from here.
-
Then I picked up packages and mail and came home, where I've been dealing with drama and am frankly done dealing with it for today. Now listening to music.
-
Thank you, DRs George and John G, for the travel vibes.
We are HOME!
Relax and recover now ;)
-
Thanks to both BK and DR Elmore for help with FB groups.
You’re right, bunch of idiots in that Hollywood one. Blind leading the blind. I just corrected something twice in one thread. But the stuff that does emerge is of value.
Joining a Redondo Beach one, too. What the heck. We’ll see how it goes.
-
There's a Valley one, too. And photos of los angeles is good.
-
Thank you, DRs George and John G, for the travel vibes.
We are HOME!
Relax and recover now ;)
I’m going to a book discussion and lunch with Rebecca tomorrow and then my calendar is clear for the rest of the week.
-
What will you be discussing?
-
Just checked out the calories in two fried catfish filets - 200 each, so very friendly those catfish are.
-
What will you be discussing?
Educated by Tara Westover, the female Mormon survivalist version of Hillbilly Elegy.

I finished reading it last week. I thought it was more the Mormon Survivalist version of THE SOUND OF GRAVEL though her life was not nearly as difficult as the woman in Sound of Gravel. I preferred both memoirs to Hillbilly Elegy.
-
I have been on messenger chatting with a friend and Keith just joined in the conversation and livened it up-hysterical.
-
I just experienced that thing of being taken back to 2012 posts! It was such a rotten year, I couldn't wait to get back to this less-rotten year, so i hightailed it outta there, :)
-

The audio version just appeared on my OverDrive today. I need to finish The Haunting of Hill House first, then Edith Wharton's In Morocco first.

So, was that the work of Scorsese, Gower Champion or Fred Ebb?
I'd never heard that Ebb might have done some fo the staging! As they used to say on the odd Couple tv series: It's better than fact, it's rumor! (or something like that)
-
Watching Derek Jarman's film of Marlowe's Edward II. Excellent vision of the play with plenty of extra nudity thrown in for good measure (a Jarman specialty). We are also treated to Annie Lennox appearing to sing a haunting version of Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye.
-
I may get to see a second feature tonight.
-
Strange that that story of the bad treatment of the actor will likely taint CHICAGO in Broadway history, erase all the good feeling about its long run.
-
Or catch up on Charlotte Bronte's Villette. This is the second time I've tried reading it. I liked the beginning but I'm not thrilled after 150 pages.
-
I'm made to wonder, thinking as if a tort lawyer (which I am not), if there were punitive damages, a person if held responsible might actually find all their decades of profits taken away.
-
Four!

Here's Magnificat's report tonight on Mego:
Tonight's update is cautiously optimistic!
We just had our evening update from Dr. Brida, the critical care specialist overseeing Mego's care today at the VERG Brooklyn ICU. As Dr. Brida put it, "He is not out of the woods yet, but he is back to trending upward."
His antibiotics were changed and he is now on cephalexin and clindamycin. He seems to be responding well to them. He is still very weak, but he is making it to his litterbox again. He is increasingly drawn to food, and today had both wet and dry food. Still needs to be supplemented through his feeding tube, though. And...
He was weaned off the norepinephrine and is now completely off vasopressors! So far his blood pressure is holding up well, but the next few hours are crucial. The big concern is whether he will be able to hold on to his blood pressure overnight without any vasopressors. So please, please keep sending those good thoughts his way!
Exactly one week ago, Mego was rushed to VERG Brooklyn from the Brooklyn ACC. He has been fighting for his life ever since. The ICU staff have gotten very attached to him. When we called at 2 a.m. this morning (yes, yes, we know, but we can't sleep until we know Mego is all right), the nurse told he was doing better. "He likes to rub against my hand and purr, so I make sure he gets extra attention."
Mego really is special.
-
Good evening.
-
I was out of town for a few days, watching hummingbirds.
-
Glad to hear the kitty is doing well, Elmore.
-
Tonight we had our first storm of the season. About a half inch of rain in 45 minutes. First rain at my house since about February.
-
Congratulations on the rain, Laura.
-
Great news on Mego. Continued healing vibes.
-
So, Ginny, now that you are home safe and sound, what was your favorite show of the trip?
-
Gratuitous Post No. 100!
-
So, Ginny, now that you are home safe and sound, what was your favorite show of the trip?
That’s kind of hard to say, DR John G, because they were so different. I definitely never need to see Book of Mormon again and I’d only see Waitress again with my girlfriends. I would go again in a minute to see any of the others.
-
I just experienced that thing of being taken back to 2012 posts! It was such a rotten year, I couldn't wait to get back to this less-rotten year, so i hightailed it outta there, :)

Was it in March?
-

DITTO!
It would be so very sad to lose him after all he has gone through.
-
Vibes they get the rest of those trapped in the cave out tomorrow!
-
Glad to hear the kitty is doing well, Elmore.
Super Ditto!!
-
Time to leave work.
Be back later.
-
Watching a William Powell-Carole Lombard melodrama called Man of the World. It contains the only bad performance I've seen Powell give, well, at least when he tries to speak French. It made my ears hurt.
-

Looking in my history, it looks like this was the page in 2012.
http://www.haineshisway.com/smf/index.php?board=4.2060
-
I think I go to a day in March. Whichever day it is the year is 2012.
-
Finished with my viewing and all the drama of today, which is now hopefully done - if not, it will be dealt with swiftly if it resurfaces.
-
Good evening.
-
Wow, what a trip! When I just signed on, I was sent back to October 10, 2012!
-
Is that where others were sent?
-
Did something important happen that day?
-
Maybe there is an idea for a horror movie bubbling around in there.
-
Or perhaps a fantasy story?
-
Today was not a good day for me.
-
And I don’t mean the SCOTUS nomination.
-
One more post.
-
Page 5
-
I was sick and in the bathroom all day.
-
I had terrible stomach cramps.
-
So, I accomplished nothing all day.
-
I didn’t even go out and get the mail.
-
As usual, Nick was a great nurse.
-
I am feeling a little bette tonight.
-
I am supposed to go out to lunch tomorrow.
-
We shall see how I feel in the morning.
-
I talked to Betzy today.
-
The problem was the daughter.
-
I did get my order from Nuts.com delivered today, but I really didn’t think the idea of cashews sounded very good.
-
Amazingly, I received an email yesterday afternoon telling me my order would be shipped Monday morning.
-
And yet, it was delivered at 2:00 p.m. today.
-
I was sick and in the bathroom all day.
No!!
