DR John G, I watched Family Plot last week. I love the film, but for the first time I thought, it could lose 15 minutes. I always loved Cathleen Nesbit.
She will be the best dressed copse ever!
Healing vibes for DR JANE.

We ran into Mark, my jazz pianist neighbor. He told us there was a suicide yesterday in 212 West 82, one of the four buildings our landlord owns on this block. I'm sure i've seen the person on the street, but I know only a few tenants in the other three buildings.

I'll work here until noon, then head down to City Center to meet Rob Berman for lunch. He's back from his summer with a new musical DAVE at the Kennedy Center. I look forward to catching up.
I have a few 35mm slides I should scan, that I took at the world premiere of Family Plot in Century City. They brought Hitchcock in on a Universal Studios tour tram buggy, there was a fireworks structure in the outline of his famous profile, and I forget what else. But the best part of the evening was my being the one person, to my knowledge, to get right up to Mr. Hitchcock at the end, and get an autograph before his people ushered him out of the theater.

The reviews have not been kind.
My great-niece gave birth to a baby boy they’re naming Jonah. He’s a wrinkly little cutie. I wish I could share the photo. But I can never get that right from my phone.

George I am pleased you liked the movie.
In my several months of actually being on Facebook and participating to a certain degree, I seem to have figured out how to avoid most of the things that would annoy me the most. The one thing I can't get away from is stupid -- people who are just totally unfocused regardless of the topic of discussion. Too many are there to mindlessly gab, and actually have nothing of value to add to a conversation about a specific thing. Or they are interested and excited to contribute, but they're too lazy to read anything that's already been posted, so you'll see the same "answer" or "observation" being given over and over, with greater and lesser degrees of comprehension and accuracy. And the ease with which the digressions flow and get taken up bythe sheepothers is mind boggling.
I'm sure this all sounds very judgmental. I guess since I'm primarily there to take part in certain groups, for specific reasons, and not just to hear myself chatter, this is all the more obvious to me. And some groups are more disciplined than others. It's the ones that appeal to a broader audience that can be the most frustrating at times.

Yes, in groups that is the biggest annoyance - the people who see a post and respond without taking the time to read the other responses, which all say the same thing. And the usual "Anyone remember" preface to places that anyone and their mother would remember. And the wrong information over and over again. And finally, the same subject - every week in the LA groups we get, "Anyone remember" and a picture of the kiddie show hosts of LA. And the same people come in and post the same thing every time.
Jane! What unwelcome news of your flooding! I'm very glad you had someone housesitting and they promptly took appropriate measures. Are the people upstairs your new neighbors?
Vibes for an uneventful rest of your trip and journey home.
The above neighbor left the shower on and caused the damage to both of our places.

I had a wonderful lunch with Rob at the Brooklyn Diner. We had a lot of gossip about my cats and his cute little puppy Hudson. Secret Garden is waiting on a theatre, and the creative team and producers of Dave are making changes, hopeful of moving the show to Broadway.

Why would the shower cause a leak? I could see a bath. But wouldn't the shower water just keep going down the drain? It has never occurred to me to leave the bathroom with the shower running.

I was wondering that myself.

The reviews for the new Star Is Born are surprisingly good, good as in raves.

The Guardian's five-star review reads sillier than five stars with the critic saying that Bradley Cooper seems to be one channeling Judy Garland in this version. Still ...
Hi, George.
But only because I wasn’t feeling very well.
Good night.
