Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 100% and Jewish, and now it is time for you to post until the 100% Jewish cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SWEETING!
-
First post after BK!
-
And a very Happy New Year to those who celebrate! :D
-
Topic of the Day (in no particular order):
Tomato ketchup
Pickle relish
Mayonnaise
Ranch (it's not just a salad dressing anymore)
Tartar sauce
Goop
Salsa
Sour cream
Teriyaki sauce
Fry sauce
Barbecue sauce
-
Last week, I bought some lemon dill aioli because it sounded good, but I haven't tried it yet. I will soonly and hope that I like it.
-
And now, to bed.
Good night, and have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
This is a City Center day. I don't look forward to being out in the rain, but I look forward to going there.
-
Yesterday was a lousy day for my TV watching: when PBS is on their fund raising binges, it's nothing but lousy programs and infomercials interrupted by begging. Yesterday, it was Heather Headley in concert. I have never heard a rendition of "Over the Rainbow" with so many notes that Arlen never wrote. My other option was some fool selling his brain-improvement techniques. Oy!
-
At 6:30 the cats and I watched two more episodes of The Pallisers, then I read for a bit and went to bed.
-
Good morning, all.

TOD:
Miracle Whip makes me want to vomit on the ground.
At home I only use Duke’s Mayo because it’s the only one made without sugar or some sugar substitute.
-
TOD: Is oregano a condiment?
-
TOD: Is oregano a condiment?
It is as far as I'm concerned :-)
-
Good Morning to all
-
And a Happy New Year to everyone.
-
Happy New Year!
-
Miracle Vibes for MR BK!
Congrats on making it over 100%!
-
Good morning, all.

I think DR GEORGE's new word SOONLY should enter the lexicon.
-
I love many condiments -- but equally important, to me, is which foods each one does or doesn't enhance.
-
I think DR GEORGE's new word SOONLY should enter the lexicon.
It could even be interpolated into 1776.

Board meeting was as usual.....
Sister Act Rehearsal - Act Two OFF BOOK - went very well. I am liking this show much more than I thought I would. The music is actually a lot of fun - and of course working with college kids is always fun - for the MOST part.
My biggest number is "Sunday Morning Fever" - which is a jump ahead in time number that includes FOUR costumes changes for me....this old man is hopping!
AND I got a primo spot in the bows....Mother Superior and I bow just prior to Deloris - the lead. Rather unearned on my part - but appreciated!
-
Condiments.....use them for safe eating.

Speaking of that, the Lagy Gaga - Bradley Cooper version is looking like an Oscar contender, according ti the Hollywood Reporter.

That's of A Star is Born.
-
Jrand, so great that all is going so well.

Page 2!
-
Well, we didn't exactly cast the show from those who have shown up so far. Another evening of auditions coming up on Wednesday.
-
Thank you DR FJL. And thanks for the link. I am looking forward to seeing the movie....I wanted to buy the CD but it doesn't drop until the day the movie opens wide....
-
In my post about Miss Allison Hayes yesterday, I typed an incorrect fact...it was one of the CHAPERONES who reported the cousin hug to officials that bounced her out of the competition....not one of the JUDGES.
Were their any ventriloquist acts in the final five last night?
-
LOL DR ELMORE - or a star is hatched....as the case may be....and it ain't no spring chicken.
-
Love the score for Sister Act. All that disco. Just makes me want to get up and dance. The lyrics could be better, but who cares? The lyrics to Disco Inferno could be better, too, but that never kept me off the dance floor.
-
TOD 2:
Frank’s Hot Sauce (must be all the butter in it)
Franklin’s Espresso Barbecue Sauce (perfect on beef, especially brisket)
Tabasco
Mustards of all sorts (except tarragon mustard)
Homemade sriracha (not as sweet as the store-bought stuff)
Chile oil
Gochujang (Korean hot sauce)
-
Good morning!
-
Happy New Year!
-
TOD:
I like all condiments (ketchup, mayo, pickle relish), except I can only handle mustard in very small amounts, otherwise it's overpowering and you can't taste anything else. I also don't like horseradish.
And I really hate humus, although I guess that's a dip, not a condiment.
-
Good morning.
-
I have never heard a rendition of "Over the Rainbow" with so many notes that Arlen never wrote.
Ha! I like this.
-
My second Monarch chrysalis has not hatched yet....it's been 10 days...I hope it's not a dud....

Monday morning greetings!
Thank you for all the birthday wishes that were left here for Rob over the weekend. He got a not-so-nice present from his workplace - strep throat. Of course, the other bug that's circulating in the Butler County Jail is Hep A, so it could be worse. Mary Linda is still recovering from her foot surgery, which makes them quite a pair.
-
Get better soon vibes for Rob.
I am at my worst with any kind of sore throat

interesting regarding dukes. i wonder if i would like it. i agree with miracle whip. i didn't care much for the mayo on the cruise and added ketchup to it.
-
we also had some rain though not enough to send to jan.
-
Miracle Vibes for MR BK!
Congrats on making it over 100%!
DITTO & DITTO!
-
Jrand, so great that all is going so well.
i am as well.

was it really against the rules to hug male relatives?

Healing vibes to Rob and Linda!

I'm up, I'm up - six-and-a-half hours of sleep.

the company that made the carpet in our guestroom recently went out of business. the bedrooms are across the hall from each other so we used the same carpet for them. a small annoyance in the scheme of things but i do hope we can duplicate the carpet or find something i am happy with.
-
a neighbor who never talks to us just stopped to ask how i am :o
-
I think DR GEORGE's new word SOONLY should enter the lexicon.
Thanks, Jrand! I don't think I invented it, but I certainly have used it before. ;)
-
No - there was not supposed to be ANY contact between the contestants and males during the competition...particularly not in the hotel lobby where everyone could see it....it didn't matter that the man was a relative that she hadn't seen in some time, and that he was there to support her in the pageant....

And I am home from City Center and too much time in the rain.

And I’m finally able to wear the souvenir fleece jackets that I bought in Michigan in May!

I hope she knew that though i can imagine it to be an easy thing to forget. a warning would have been nicer.
-
i need it to stay comfortable t-shirt weather until the cast comes off. i can't wear most of my clothes and none of my sweaters, etc.

We are waiting for the return of the workmen from lunch so we can go for a walk.

I totally missed this! I like Heather Headley and would've liked to see the show.

Actually, I wonder if it was shown here on either of the local PBS stations. It might not have been. :-\

I really like the score, also! I never get tired of hearing Beth Malone's version of The Life I Never Led (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMRzSdltsMQ). I LOVE this version!

Thanks for the vibes for Rob and Mary Linda. Her major complaint is itchiness in her foot. The stitches come out tomorrow and that should help. Rob has been excused from work until Friday evening.

Back from a chili, cheese, and onion hot dog and a side Caesar salad. No mail or packages, so dropped the motor car at the car wash for a much needed big boy cleaning (first time since I moved in there last November - it's filthy). They'll call me when it's ready for me to pick up.
-
Based on a suggestion, I got a little packet of honey at lunch and had some so that this Jewish New Year would be sweet.

94-year-old Carole Cook, whom BK has captured in several performances, has generated a spot of controversy by offering the quip: Where’s John Wilkes Booth when you need him?

The article didn’t say if Cook were doing her drunk persona.

Keep those traditions!
In Florida, my grandpa Leon would run into the ocean up to his waist and yell "Pesach!" When asked why, he explained: "On Pesach, it's tradition to dip your eggs in salt water."
-
i do not like mustard except a touch of it in my egg salad or deviled eggs. honey mustard dressing is also ok.
-
Picked up the newly beautified motor car - it was so filthy and now it is so clean and sparkly.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Congrats to BK on the 100%!
-
Happy New Year for all for whom it's a new year.
-
Larry, I understand that it's hard to believe.
But consider this:
They filed a seven-page brief (which I sent you a PDF of) plus attachments to keep a person from using what they offer the public.
Does that make sense?
I've asked seven times already, a yes or no question: Did City Center get involved, or did City Center's lawyer advise the Talkin Broadway Corporation in the legal analysis and elaborate briefing Talkin Broadway submitted?
Not getting the answer "No" after three weeks if asking means there's something City Center is trying to hide. Businesses simply don't say "I won't tell you, Nyah, Nyah, Nyah" like high school students.
Iff they did it: Why would City Center (a non-profit) be funding tens of thousands of dollars worth of legal work for the Talkin Broadway Corp (a for-profit corp), or having their attorney don that work? I know the answer, based on who the two entities have in common, and that happens to be cyberstalker Jonathan Frank. (worked 9 years at Talkin Broadway, and 11 years so far, every Encores show at City Center, obviously very valued by both.)
Any advice you have is appreciated in HHW, in email, or by phone.

I have no news, just the usual busy Monday.

Regarding the change of season, I haven't had occasion to wear a sweater yet, but I did put on slippers one night last week. Slippers! In September!

TTFN.

What is this page four malarkey?
-
It rained all day, except for a short period in which I got to walk, not swim, from the office to the car. It's been in the low 70s all day. I wonder what it's going to be like tonight.
-
Supposed to rain all week.

Watching Queen Bee, a Joan Crawford flick that's like a second-rate Tennessee Williams. More Southerners behaving badly. She makes Regina seem like Mother Machree.

Regina Giddins? That's a Hellman play!

This is Tinker, so adorable, a victim of Middletown OH white trash behavior at its cruelest. I hope they throw the book at this Chilton bastard. His crime was actually much more horrible than the report here.

Oh, my goodness. :( That's absolutely terrible!
-
Well, it's time to leave work.
Be back later.
-
I needed some laughs after all the time with Queen Bee and her hive. So, The Awful Truth is on. Wonderful script. Wonderful Cary Grant, Irene Dunne and Asta.
-
I'm going to have to return to this tomorrow. I'm falling asleep.
-
Good night, all.
-
Okay, what the serious HELL is this? Three hours without a post? This is most unseemly.

They need to do that Chilton asshole what he did to that poor fur baby!

What's a Chilton asshole? What's a poor fur baby.

Good evening.

How do you button them?

One more post.

Page Five!
-
I had an interesting evening.
-
I had a very good dinner and a half-baked murder mystery.
-
The dinner was served buffet style.
-
That was fine, but the dinner space was too small to accommodate putting in tables, so they served the dishes on the high counter that surrounded the kitchen.
-
That meant that anyone shorter than say, 5’ 6”, had no idea what was inside the serving dishes.
-
They had some nice appetizers of different cheeses, some fruit, deviled eggs, and these giant chilled prawns.
-
For the dinner they served these incredible steaks covered in Gorgonzola, shrimp scampi (more shrimp) potatoes, asparagus, Caesar salad, and Waldorf salad.
-
I am probably forgetting something, but since I could only see what ended up on my plate, I have no idea what it might have been.
-
For dessert they had Black Forest cake, creme brûlée, and cherries jubilee.
-
For the cherries, instead of using ice cream, he used a white chocolate truffle.
-
The dinner was very good, but extremely rich!
-
I would have preferred rice instead of the roasted potatoes, but not my decision.
-
As for the murder mystery, I am spoiled by the fourteen or so mysteries that I did.
-
Ours were very well rehearsed and memorized, this one was not.
-
This one started with the murder with no set-up on the victim or any of the suspects.
-
They then expected the audience to “grill” the suspects after about ten minutes of introducing the characters.
-
It was basically over after going thru the six suspects and then asking the audience for a vocal vote.
-
There was no incentive to try and solve the crime.
-
The dinner was very good, but extremely rich!
Oh, my goodness, Tom...(most of) that sounds incredible!
-
What surprised me was that the performing group was from Seattle, and have apparently done a number of these.
-
Ours were very well rehearsed and memorized, this one was not.
Don't you hate it when that happens? :P
-
The real crime was that they were probably paid for their efforts.
-
The real crime was that they were probably paid for their efforts.
Actors gotta eat, ya know. ;)
-
In all fairness, ours are done in usually four scenes; one before dinner, two presented during the meal courses, and then the final one during coffee and dessert.
-
The real crime was that they were probably paid for their efforts.
Actors gotta eat, ya know. ;)
And how much are you usually paid for your theatrical endeavors?
-
