Sounds like an interesting play the DR TCB is doing....

Today is the LAST day in which I have to do something on BOTH shows.....there is a SISTER ACT run thru at 6:30 p.m. and a performance of BAREFOOT beginning at 8 p.m.  I should get to the last hour of BAREFOOT unless there are a LOT of notes.

George, regarding last night's play:  One thing you might want to consider is that, during rhearsals, half of the cast believed that everything after the intermission (Peter Pan and the scene with Dad) takes place after Ann has died.  Micheal didn't want to play it that way.  As I said, we were split 50/50 on that point.  I think it makes more sense in some ways.  Certainly, it makes my line, "Of course I will.  I have been here all along." make more sense that way.  In fact, after the thinking about it last night before I fell asleep, I think I might have changed my vote over to the group that believes she was dead.  Worth thinking about.

Does Sharry agree with Micheal?  Not that it matters, just curious.

You ever have one of those ear worm days when you can’t get a lyric or melody out of your head? Mine today is from Sondheim’s Uptown Downtown:

She sits at the Ritz with her splits of Mumm’s
And starts to pine for a stein with her Village chums
But with a Schlitz in her mitts down in Fitzroy’s Bar,
She thinks of the Ritz, oh, it’s so schizo.

Yesterday DR Elmore and I somehow got on the subject of a show that I didn't know, but I thought I might have the CD. As it turns out, I didn't, but a friend has one he doesn't need and is sending it to me

It's an old Varese release of BK's called Little By Little. I always like learning about small shows, because you never know when you can use one. It calls for a cast of three, and a piano. DR Elmore says the music is good. I'll enjoy listening to it, and perhaps putting it in my "back pocket".

Back from the worst chili, cheese, and onion hot dog ever - they must have had a substitute chef today, because it was made totally wrong - cheddar rather than American cheese (the difference is huge and not in a good way), cooked so the bun was burnt - I mean it was disgusting.  I thought about sending it back but I soldiered on and ate it.

BK mentioned this on Facebook recently. Terrible news. In this small article they speak of a "remodel". Lord save us from that. Of course it seems like that's a cover story no one has much faith in anyway.

But if that were really the case...  I looked at the photos on their website. They had already long ago updated the Olde English look with the red leatherette wing chairs and such, while keeping the basic character of the place, and I was pleased with what I saw. The jernt still looked warm and welcoming to these eyes. So, seriously, any "remodel" now would more than likely kill it.

They had already long ago updated the Olde English look with the red leatherette wing chairs and such, while keeping the basic character of the place, and I was pleased with what I saw. The jernt still looked warm and welcoming to these eyes. So, seriously, any "remodel" now would more than likely kill it.

That article is from June, when it shuttered.  As I've mentioned, they lost their liquor license because they didn't do some filing thing in time - they fought it but there was no resolution and a lot of their business is bar business and wine with dinner.  I believe they closed and will stay closed until the license can be reinstated.  However, I can't imaging they'll reopen if that goes on too long.

Friday afternoon greetings!  Anticipating afternoon thunderstorms, I went to the grocery before lunch.  Then I went to have my hair cut.  Still no storms, so I’m hoping they hold off until after tonight’s high school football games.

Today was Needle Day (acupuncture). My acupuncturist told me about a great salad bar across the street from her. How did I miss this? I drive by there almost daily. Apparently, the place doesn't face the boulevard--you sort of have to know it's there. I may give it a try on Sunday.

I suspect that's the primary reason more people don't take their intended woks.

TOD:

I have a two-day dance workshop this week and am ushering for Andre Watts with the symphony. If I have time, I’ll try to finish Gunfight at the OK Corral. I’ve been enjoying the studio cast recording of Cry Baby lately.

I saw Andre Watts perform at the Hollywood Bowl, the only time I attended a certain there.

I did however sing at the Hollywood Bowl.  I was visiting L.A. in the Seventies, and asked my friend to pull over immediately.  I raced into the building and began singing “Oh What A Beautiful Morning” right there in the Hollywood Bowl Bowling Alley.

All the actors were good in their roles.  Tom was his usual excellent self. :D

As expected regarding Tom but how was Bogart ;)

Bogart ended up not performing in the production.  We could not find a handler to stay backstage with Bogart until it was time for his big entrance.

Hi, Tom.

Yes, during rehearsal it was Sharry, Micheal and myself who voted that she wasn’t dead.  The other three cast mates voted that she was dead.

But I have now officially switched my vote over to dead.. Not that it matters now that we are through with the show.

A lot of times when my family is playing games, my sister says "FIVE!" like Madeline Kahn in What's Up, Doc? :D

I couldn't find a video clip of that moment, though.
