Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the recording session, and now it is time for you to post until the Carol Cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: METAGROBOLIZE!
-
First post after BK!
-
Great news about the successful recording session!
-
I hope I get my 10 CDs from the Indiegogo campaign soon. :)
-
Well, I finally got the e-mail about the first two A Christmas Story rehearsals this week. Nobody is rehearsing tonight (Monday). The Old Man and the female ensemble are called at 7 pm on Tuesday, and the male adult ensemble, Mother, Ralphie and Randy are called at 8 pm. I'm not called on Wednesday.
-
Tried posting photos from the session - wouldn't take them even after I got them down to a small size kb-wise. I don't get it.

:o Very strange.
-
What about posting them here in the posts?
-
And now, I'm off to bed. Today, the family is gathering at my sister's, so I'll go there for a while. Otherwise, I'll be watching TV and doing laundry here at home. :)
Have a good day, all!
-
And Happy Veteran's Day!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I winterized too well, so this morning I need to remove the comforter and set it at the foot of the bed.
-
Both Annabelle and Thatch are behaving strangely this morning. Annabelle may be coming down with a cold - I hope not! - and Thatch preferred to play with one of his ball games rather than eat. Annabelle ate his breakfast. This has me puzzled since he usually eats everything within reach.
-
I am also worried that I am turning into my mother. Last night I completely forgot to check their water dishes, so both dishes were empty this morning. Between grades 1-12 I cannot tell you how many times we went to school without breakfast (no milk? no cereal? I meant to go to the store last night) or we ran out of light bulbs or toilet paper (I meant to go to the store last night).
-
I have to remake a bed.

T.O.D.
A better question for me would be: "What aren't my favorite films of Orson Welles?"
Great or not so great, Welles' work is fascinating, if not for the finished product itself, then the way he accomplished it with a nothing budget.
If you've yet to read (or listen to) my one-person play, ORSON WELLES, please do. Edward French is magnificent in the audio edition.

Good morning, all.

I'm afraid that the approach of hiding Dad's shoes wouldn't work, because Dad was found barefoot. The neighbor who took him in wrapped his feet up in towels until Mom could come get him because it was brutally cold outside.
-
Oh, boy. A new version of Merrily We Roll Along.

Oh I am sorry
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good reminder. Someone had actually purchased tickets for a group of us to go to that 'MERRILY' -- but I think it conflicts with something, so I can't join, or will have to consider seeing it later... or not...
-
Congrats to MR BK & DOUG & Co on their recording!
-
Off book vibes for DR TCB.
-
I found a book about Orson Welles and The Other Side of the Wind at the Dollar Tree.....it was sort of interesting....
TOD:
Citizen Kane
Touch of Evil
-
Oh and
The Stranger...he and Miss Loretta Young have surprisingly good chemistry...

That is sad. Did you live far from a market? I would have thought as you got older you and your siblings would have begun shopping, or even keeping some food in your bedrooms for emergencies.

I agree.
-
I am off as I have a busy day with doctor appointments and PT.
-
Fun for all this week:
An open, philosophical approach -- rather than a strictly practical approach -- is the way to go during the first half of this week. You are the master of your destiny. Thursday in particular has the potential to be a great or terrible day, depending, in large measure, on you. On Friday, if your energy is flagging, ask your friends to rile you up (they'll be happy to oblige). Saturday's a good day to spend around others as well, although Sunday's a stay-at-home sort of day.
-
Good morning!
-
Nice photo, DR Laura! I'd love to see Jason in a show again.
-
Glad the recording went well, BK!
-
Paula Wayne, who had IMO a gorgeous, smoky voice, has died. She was Sammy Davis Jr.’s love interest in Golden Boy. Part of the obit touched on this being the subject of controversy because of race. This was supposedly the first interracial kiss on a Broadway stage. Yet this was a plot point of Showboat decades before. I guess until Lonette McKee, black or multiracial women never played Julie. Lena never played the part, except in scenes in Till the Clouds Roll By.

Monday
morning afternoon greetings! After about a week of having to be somewhere fairly early in the day - every day - I am in the slow lane today. Nothing on my calendar until an AAUW meeting at 7pm.
-
DR John G, I'm sorry to hear about the latest news from your parents...
-
Kwamina was before GOLDEN BOY....and I thought Truly Scrumptious and her leading man Terry Carter had a kiss onstage.....and maybe off if rumors are to be believed... Ah....after some internet research, it seems there was NO onstage osculation during KWAMINA......
-
I liked Erik Larson's book - The Devil in the White City - so I ordered a used copy of the Lusitania book for $5 from Amazon......
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep and very weird dreams.
-
Forgot to turn off the heat so I'm very stuffed up.

While very different I think it is equally as good. A couple of his other books I sadly disliked.
-

Are you also having issues with smoke?
-
No, it was only on Saturday that I smelled it and that was in North Hollywood and not here. I assume that smoke was from the Griffith Park fires.
-
You are lucky.

Thank you. How could I forget Kwamina?

Stan Lee of Marvel Comics has died at 95. Spent quite a few hours as a kid reading The Avengers, X-Men, Spider-Man and the rest.
-
I will miss his short appearance in his films.

I will miss his short appearance in his films.
They were always fun.
-
Temps in the 20's and a dusting of snow predicted for tonight....we shall see.
-
Birdy Barnum is singing along with Elvis Presley as we listen to his Golden Hits!
-
He is not as enthusiastic about Mr. Ricky Nelson.

I shivered reading this.

Super cute :)
-
He is not as enthusiastic about Mr. Ricky Nelson.
Darn.
-
Picked up yesterday's little package, and then Grant and I went to Islands. Had my Big Wave with cheese and some fries, many less than usual.
-
Does Birdy Barnum shake his tail feathers like Elvis?
-
Three!
-
Posting is taking a long time.
-
hmmmm
-
no problem posting while holding on the phone
-
my, the music is jarring.
-
Listening to some music.
-
I think i might have been a bad cell zone when I tried to post before.
-
I'm home now. All is better.
-
Back to the second part of Berlin Alexanderplatz.
-
Tomorrow night it's supposed to get down below freezing. My poor plants. I think I'd better bring some in tonight.
-
Was thinking about watching something, but what? I have three Netflix DGA screeners here, and all of them sound awful. And last I checked Netflix there was nothing interesting.
-
Meanwhile, I listen to music, lots of music.
-
Starting Shampoo. It's wonderful. The look is incredibly dated, but the script is timeless. The acting is brilliant. Even down to George Furth as an unctuous banker.
-
Has anybody heard anything about the film version of Bel Canto? Apparently it's going straight to video. The library has it on order.
In a sense, I'm not surprised, because the book seemed impossible to film.
-
I never got around to reading the book.
-
We are watching THE GOOD DOCTOR.
-
I never got around to reading the book.
I really loved it.
-
I take it back, I did read the book. Obviously I didn't love it ;D
-
Page three? Really?
-
I do know we were down for some period of time between when I began watching a documentary and now. So that was ninety minutes of away time, and have no idea how long within that period of time.
-
I am having trouble catching up.
-
Well, you'd better catch up or you shall be flogged like Judge Turpin, but worse.
-
No wonder we're on page three.
-

Oh, no. I actually had no idea that she was still alive. :-\

I'd heard about that at my sister's. :(

IMD shows 4 of his films in post-production.

In a sense, I'm not surprised, because the book seemed impossible to film.
It was also adapted into an opera and shown on PBS last year. I remember watching part of it, but I missed being able to record it. I enjoyed what I saw. As far as I've been able to tell, it's not been released on DVD or Blu-ray.

Good night, Jane.

This just became offical (a little earlier tonight): Democrat Kyrsten Sinema wins Arizona US Senate seat (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/democrat-kyrsten-sinema-wins-arizona-us-senate-seat/ar-BBPDnAD?OCID=ansmsnnews11). ;D

I'm about to balance my checkbook.
-
Just had to share.
-
;)
-
Today at my sister's house, we played Phase 10 and I won!
-
I haven't won in a while, so I was very happy.
-
:D
-
POST #100!!
-
After I balance my checkbook, I need to put together all the props receipts so that I can be reimbursed for what I paid.
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Hi, George.
-
I am home from rehearsal.
-
Tonight was our first night completely off-book. But, instead of doing a regular run-through, we did a speed-through.

Hope it went well!
-
How can you know if you are doing well off-book when you are having to race through your lines.
-
It made it very difficult to concentrate.
-
So, I have no idea where I am strong, and where my problem areas are.
-
Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
-
How can you know if you are doing well off-book when you are having to race through your lines.
Good point!
-
You'll be fine! believe!
-
I've usually only raced through a show like that when we've had a pick-up rehearsal and we just want to make sure that everyone still knows their lines.
-
I am already putting a big red circle around our closing performance on December 16.
-
Then whaddya gonna do?
-
I've usually only raced through a show like that when we've had a pick-up rehearsal and we just want to make sure that everyone still knows their lines.
I have never done it before on the first night of being off book.
-
NEVER!
-
ONE MORE POST.
-
PAGE FIVE DANCE!!

Did they say why they did it??

They said they wanted to speed through so we would have tie to work the scene changes.
-
And don’t even get me started on the scene changes.
-
ROTTEN PUDDING!
-
As opposed to underpants.
-
I haven’t had time to catch up on all the posts.
-
Vibes to anyone who needs them!!
-
Almost midnight!
-
Does anyone here watch MIDNIGHT, TEXAS?
-
I tried watching one episode.

Does anyone here watch MIDNIGHT, TEXAS?
Not I.

I couldn’t agree more.
