Well, you've read the notes, the notes were stuffed, and now it is time for you to post until the stuffed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INVITATION!
-
First post after BK!
-
Today, I'm staying home and will watch TV, and do some laundry, and work on my lines and songs for A Christmas Story.
-
It's been raining all evening, here in the Olympia/Lacey/Tumwater area.
-
As soon as I posted last night I fell asleep and then woke up at 1:00.
-
I am now on the living room couch for a change of positions.
-
I didn't think I ate too much last night yet I still feel very full. I do not do well finishing dinner after 8:00.
-
I probably didn't have enough protein either.
-
DR George it would have been faster if you had simply purchased whipping cream and made your own whipped cream ;)
I never put whipped cream on cheese cake and don't think it should be paired together.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It is eight degrees here. Count ‘em. Eight.
Edit: Wind chill factor is a cute li’l negative two.
-
No Black Friday shopping for me. If I play my cards right, I probably don’t even have to go out today.
-
What I do have to do is get working on a lot of music.
First order of business: In a week and a half I’m playing an entire sing-through of the musical about a woman in red coming down some stairs.
-
And I have to pick out a few things to play for a church service I’m subbing for in two weeks.
And put together some songs a couple of people are doing next month at a small series of concerts to be given at a few senior homes. That’s something new for us.
-
And I’m playing some high school holiday concerts for which I’ll go pick up the music one day next week. That includes a piece by Jason Robert Brown which must be learned.
This December is a busy month.
-
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I fed the cats and went back to bed for an hour.
-
I went to a wonderful dinner art the apartment of my How To Succeed . . . colleague and his partner, their little terrier Rocco and their two cats Kosmo and Kismet. It was an amazing meal, the company was fun, and I tipsily wandered home around 9:30. By 10:15 I was in bed. Annabelle stayed with me for a while, then she retired to her bathroom washtub.
-
Thatch, who's been avoiding me for the past several nights, forgave me and crawled into bed around 3:15 to curl up close to a warm body and to bury himself in the warm bedding. I doubt it was no more than 30 degrees F in the apartment.
-
This morning Annabelle wouldn't eat breakfast so I need to decipher the reasons.
-
Our patrol is an hour late so Annabelle's getting antsy.
-
”And Then She Retired to Her Bathroom Washtub” - A Memoir
-
That sounds like a wonderful dinner.
-
When does your Facebook banishment end, DR Elmore? It’s seeming a little quiet over there lately!
-
No Black Friday shopping for me.....it is a nice ME day....and we are warm and the heating unit is humming away....
YIKES DR GEORGE.....now I do feel lucky.....wallet wise.
-
It turns out that I like Melissa McCarthy in some of her movies....she is just very personable.....

Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7.
-
We made our patrol. Annabelle is very affectionate today: lots of purring and clinging to Daddy. Thatch is behaving as though he's never met me before and I'm going to bake him in a pie.
-
DR Vixmom mentioned that she could never decide whether to watch CBS or NBC version of the parade. I always record them both. But other than the musical numbers on CBS they are not really able to show as much of the parade as NBC. So if I had to choose for the actual parade NBC is much better.

I must run out to market for deli turkey. They need their daily treats. When I get back, I need to change the humidifier filter, finish the Gentlemen Be Seated! vocal score fixes, and begin work on two choral arrangements. The Golden Gate Men's Chorus asked me in the past week to write two arrangements for their spring 2019 concert. and I am extremely grateful that some work has come in. I need to finish them by the first week of January. I may get out of debt yet.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
Congrats on the work for DR ELMORE!
Maybe Thatch had a Sweeney Todd dream last night.....
-
The second candle on the property is almost burned down DR ELMORE.....hopefully it will work by the end of the year.

I'm hoping!
-
And I am home from market. It is bitter outside and I am happy to be inside.
-
My beloved Artie's is gone but the site is now a TV location for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Has anyone seen this show? I'd like to, so I hope it comes out on DVD.
-
Good afternoon to all.
-
I saw Lucas Hedges on Broadway in The Waverly Gallery. Also in the cast was Elaine May and Joan Allen. He is making his Broadway debut with the play and does an excellent job. All NYCers if you have the opportunity to go see it please do. Limited engagement ends in January at the Golden Theater.
-
LOVED Artie's. :-[
-
But Cafe 82 is a nice coffee shop and a great convenience. And, just as at Artie's, one is never made to feel rushed.
-
I'm hungry.
-
PBS at 9:00 tonight: Great Performances, "Harold Prince: The Director's Life".
It's new, right? Well, I haven't seen it. Got the DVR set.
-

Oh, that is cold.
-
When does your Facebook banishment end, DR Elmore? It’s seeming a little quiet over there lately!
I remember because it ends on my birthday which is December 7th.
-
It turns out that I like Melissa McCarthy in some of her movies....she is just very personable.....
For the most part we also enjoy her films.
-
Congrats on the work for DR ELMORE!
Maybe Thatch had a Sweeney Todd dream last night.....
I had two dreams I remembered last night. In the first I was working at Office Outfitters, where I actually worked between 1973 and 1978, only the manager was my Barnes & Noble manager, Patty. In the second dream I was at the Library of Congress with Robert Kimball, only it was on a college campus, and we were collecting from microfilm information on, and music by, Victor Herbert. My former LoC friend who really fucked me and my team over on the mess that became the PS Classics recording of Life Begins At 8:40was back in charge and sober, which is more than she was when the whole mess happened in 2010.

Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7.
I had this plan to visit Pear Harbor on the 7th for my 70th, just cuz of all the 7s. It isn't happening ;D
-
I am skipping PT on my birthday so that is something fun.
-
The humidifier filter is replaced, and the cats had fun helping me. They did; I didn't.
-

Wonderful!

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show.
-
I finally fell asleep and didn't wake up until 8:00 which is very late for me.
-
Good afternoon.
-
The delicious pumpkin cheesecake gave me terrible heartburn last night. I guess it was too rich.
-
Today I am very sore. Dang, I am just not used to hurting like this. Hopefully it will be over with soon. I have lots to do in the next several weeks.
-
Son and DIL came over yesterday, so I got to see the baby. He fussed a bit and slept in his swing. I kept my distance just in case I am still contagious. My DH and daughter did not get sick from me.
-
As usual, Wae-Ling pretty much prepared the turkey by herself. At least she has been trained correctly: the stuffing goes INSIDE the turkey. And it is a simple savory stuffing. And she made the gravy herself, too.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Thanks for the birthday wishes, DR Jennifer!
-
Page 3!
-
I'm up, I'm up - a little over eight hours of sleep.
-
And that's a good thing.
-
The delicious pumpkin cheesecake gave me terrible heartburn last night. I guess it was too rich.
Or it was the combination of eating it after a big meal.
-
Today I am very sore. Dang, I am just not used to hurting like this. Hopefully it will be over with soon. I have lots to do in the next several weeks.
I feel bad for you. I find major time spent in the kitchen cooking & cleaning can increase pain levels.
-
It is quiet here. It feels good to be returning to the gym and using the treadmill on raining days. I can get some reading done too.
-
Keith is very sweet and drops me off at the front door so I stay dry and don't get too cold. I like to wear shorts.
-
Thanks, everyone. I'll live. I am taking it easy today.
-
Quiet in these parts today.....the internet must have had a bunch of extra people on it or something.....there have been server problems all day.....finally things seem back to normal....
-
Back from picking up packages, getting some take home food from Jerry's, and putting gas in the motor car. The gas station near my old house is charging 4.59 for premium - I don't think there is ANY gas station anywhere charging that much - I hope they go out of business for gouging - and yes there were two idiots there spending that dough. I went to the station near Jerry's, literally a quarter mile away and paid 3.65. Go know.
-
I wore warmer clothes to walk in the pouring rain today not paying attention to the chill factor. There wasn't any. I was very happy when the rain stopped and I could layer off some of my clothes. I had way too much on.
-
Well, I guess I had better start getting ready to go to the theater. We have our "big" apple cider reception after the show, so I may be very late getting home. Hopefully we can get more posts than page 3 by the time I return!

Break a leg!
-
I hope DR TCB has a great evening.
-
I wanted to get a few Black Friday sale items from Kohl's . I went online last night to double check the prices and suddenly realized I could order and pay for the items and then pick them up at the store. So I did that.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Happy Black Friday.
-
This morning around 10 I received a text message that my purchase was ready
-
I arrived at the store around 11, the lines for the registers stretched halfway around the store.
-
I needed to order more medication for my eyes and was surprised that a Black Friday deal was being offered. I saved $10. Every bit counts.
-
I hope DR TCB has a great evening.
Ditto.
-
I strolled past all that and walked up to the customer service area. There were about a dozen people there all holding merchandise.
-

Good that you thought ahead. I hope you received good prices as well.
-
I stood at the end of the line and one if the workers called out is anyone just here for pickup? I raised my hand, was called to the front, showed the bar cide in my text message and my ID, was handed my package and sent on my way
-
Entire time in store about 7 minutes
-
And I earned $45 in Kohl's cash
-
I also want to Michaels and bought several picture frames, the line was quite short there
-
It turns out that I like Melissa McCarthy in some of her movies....she is just very personable.....
I used to associate her with the sort of movies I prefer to avoid, but I saw her in something a couple years ago--don't recall what it was--and I was favorably impressed. She was very good and I enjoyed the film.
-
The grocery store was also neatly vacant
-
I thought (briefly) abut stopping in at BJs (it's right behind Kohl's) but one glance at the parking lot dissuaded me
-
I also made my turkey today
-
My beloved Artie's is gone but the site is now a TV location for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Has anyone seen this show? I'd like to, so I hope it comes out on DVD.
I was hoping to, but apparently it's only available on Amazon Prime streaming. I don't have Prime, so I'm out of luck. Amazon does have those free Prime trials. I may have to sign up in order to watch it.
-
Yesterday we were at my brothers house
-
We had quite a pleasant time
-
Oh, I just noticed we are on page 4
-

Good news!
And debt-free vibes to Larry!
-

Pain-free vibes to DR Laura.
-
Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving and didn't have to do too much work, Vixmom.
-
TTFN.
-
Made my sandwiches from the stuff I got at Jerry's and ate that. Then Alexa and her mother came for a visit and brought pumpkin pie, so I have that for later.
-
Will choose which movie to watch - probably A Star Is Born.
-
Friday evening greetings! We’ve had a nice day with my family. I went with my sister, niece, and a friend to a craft show and to the Beer Nuts store while Richard chilled out at Laura’s. We crashed his solitude for a bite of lunch, then the girls went to Laura’s basement studio for a crafternoon. Pizza for dinner, a little more crafting, and now Richard and I are back at our hotel to watch the Harold Prince program.
-
Break a leg to DR TCB and the Yes, Virginia company!
-
Page four? Really?
-
Pumpkin pie was yummilicious.
-
Did they bake it for you or pick it up someplace?
-
DR Vixmom I am impressed with the ease of your shopping. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend.
-
We went to the gym and home since we went to the market on Wednesday.
-
Watching A Star is Born.
-
Is it good?
-
Good evening, all.
-
It's been a long, been a long, been a long day.
(A Frank Loesser reference.)
-
I got up early and worked in San Angelo until noon.
-
then I drove back. I took a wrong turn and added about 20 minutes to the trip.
-
It's okay. From the reviews and other show biz folks gushing you'd think it was the second coming - that it's not. The story is indestructible, of course, and Lady Gaga is fine and so is Cooper, but the story in this version really skews towards him. For me, the Garland version is perfect at that juggling act. I didn't care for the Streisand much. Cooper seems to be channeling both Kristofferson and Jeff Bridges, I don't think I've ever understood a single work Sam Elliot has said in the entirety of his career and for all the raves the direction has been getting, I found that aspect of it not exceptional. Others have loved it, so what do I know.
-
Made a side trip to Half Price Books for their 20% off sale. Found a couple of Victor Herbert CDs from conductor Donald Hunsberger.
-
then I drove back. I took a wrong turn and added about 20 minutes to the trip.
I am an expert at wrong turns.
-
Watching Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. Wow. What a mediocre piece of work. The singing is better than it was in the first one. But ...
-
Let's move on ...
-
Five!
-
I have no leftovers from yesterday's dinner. So, J.B. got no game hen. No duck fat mashed potatoes. No pumpkin pie.
-
The visit was nice, though. We watched three movies:
Babette's Feast, which I had somehow missed and loved
The original Oldboy, which was violent, violent and violent, and fascinating
Night and the City, a wonderful noir that was great, except for the script.
-
It's very interesting. Cher shows up in the movie about 20 minutes before the ending, and she brings a star power that's irresistible. Then Meryl shows up and the movie seems to be something it hadn't been for the too-long first part. They even manage to make the rest of the cast seem engaged in a way they hadn't been before. It still wasn't great, but all of sudden it was more interesting than it had been. And you can't fake that. Or manufacture it.
-
It's okay. From the reviews and other show biz folks gushing you'd think it was the second coming - that it's not.
I wondered if you would have the same reaction.
-
DR George it would have been faster if you had simply purchased whipping cream and made your own whipped cream ;)
I never put whipped cream on cheese cake and don't think it should be paired together.
It would've been faster, but when I went to the store on Wednesday, there was no whipping cream AND no aerosol whipped cream. I went yesterday (on Thanksgiving Day) and both were stocked, so I went ahead and got the whipped cream. And I got it because we also had a pumpkin pie. That's really what the whipped cream was for.
-
It is eight degrees here. Count ‘em. Eight.
Edit: Wind chill factor is a cute li’l negative two.
:o
-
It was 75 here today. High of 78 tomorrow.
-
And on that note, good night, all.
-

I suppose it is better on pumpkin pie than cheesecake ;)

That sounds lovely.

'night

Today, I went to Fred Meyer three, count 'em, THREE times! I got cat food one time; then some diet Pepsi for my mom the second time; and aspirin, ibuprofin and some ice cream the last time. ::)
-

That's great, Larry! Congrats on the job!
-
Congrats on the work for DR ELMORE!
Maybe Thatch had a Sweeney Todd dream last night.....
Speaking of Sweeney Todd, I'm watching the Hal Prince documentary on PBS, and they're just now talking all about Sweeney Todd and how it came together. I'm really enjoying this.
-
BK, I'm also recording this to my DVD burner, so I can make a DVD pretty quickly.
-

Watching A Star is Born.
Is it good?
I enjoyed it, but my standards aren't as high as BK's.
;)
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, George.
-
Thank you for the opening night wishes, you guys.
-
We survived our opening.
-
The audience seemed to really enjoy it.
-
Of course, there were a lot of family members.
-
I received a lot of very nice comments.
-
And I had no family present.
-
Page 6
-
I am blabbing on, and George isn’t even here.
-
Nor is anyone else.
-
I understand the only missed entrance tonight was the appearance of Santa Claus.
-
Which is pretty funny considering the name of the play.
-
I am sorry that BK was not impressed by A STAR IS BORN.
-
Of course, I think they should have stopped with Judy’s version.
-
Hi, Tom. I'm here. I was setting up my DVD burner to burn a DVD of the Hal Prince documentary.
-

NOW!
