Well, you've read the notes, the notes were really fun, and now it is time for you to post until the really fun cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ACTUATE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after BK!
-
From yesterday:
George, how complicated is the choreography?
It's not too complicated. Mostly stuff anyone could do, but it's just trying to remember what we learned two weeks ago and not really knowing the song. ::) Fortunately, they've been videorecording the dances and posting them on our private Facebook group's page so we can refresh our memory.
-
how much dance do you have?
-
I don't have any book scenes with dialogue, so I pretty much only sing and dance in this show. I haven't counted the number of numbers I'm in (and my script is in my car), but maybe five or six songs, including my featured number, "Up On Santa's Lap." I play Santa. ;D
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
I managed to read 20 pages of the new book before falling asleep. If only I had stayed asleep.
-
DR TCB please follow DR Jan's advice and be careful on your scooter. Does it need winter tires?
-
Good morning.
-
The only thing you can do about those awful strange things people say is laugh (later) and use them as quotes.

The Yard Police closed the complaint.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Very busy day here, today, so I'll be a little scarce until probably late this evening.
-
I wish we had In N Out here. I've had literally one meal from there in my life. They hadn't yet expanded into a "thing" when I moved from L.A., and they've plainly stated they have no plans to move any farther east or north than they already have.
We have a Five Guys just five minutes away. Their burgers are very good, but I think they're expensive for what you get. I love Shake Shack, but the closest one is an hour away. And they're expensive, too. Okay, I guess everything's expensive. You don't get a "deluxe" burger from even the traditional fast food places for less, really, all things considered.
-
But I do love me my burgers. You could just call me J. Wellington Wimpy.
-
Good morning, all!
-
After sleeping poorly and being up at 5:30 yesterday, I was sure I'd sleep well last night. I was wrong. I got up, fed the cat, and went back to bed.
-
I have several things to deal with this morning, including a big fight with a licensing company called Tresóna in Scottsdale ZA who claims I owe them $188,000+ for licensing fees I never requested.
-
At the moment Annabelle is letting me know that we are late to patrol and that I am a lousy - or was that lazy? - bassa.
-
Cinemax was free this past weekend, so we recorded a few movies off it for later viewing.
One we watched was very good; certainly held my interest.
RED SPARROW (2018) w/Jennifer Lawrence, Joel Edgerton, Jeremy Irons and others.
It's about Russian spies, and it has a few twists at the end that took me totally by surprise, which is not an easy thing to do.
If you don't have Cinemax, you can probably rent it via Redbox.
-
Tuesday.
Competition vibes for DR JOHN G.
DR CHAS SMITH it sounds like it's time in your neighborhood for a revival of my musical BEACH PARTY NUCLEAR PROTEST.....which is entertaining AND informative....including such hit songs as "You're My Favorite Way to Keep Warm" and "My Heart Doesn't Know Why I Cry."
-
Good morning from NE Regional Amtrak Train 86.
-
I just can't believe that the weather is November weather. We've had snow, freezing rain, more snow. I don't recall last November being like this. It's horrible. :(
-
I'm going to NYC for a quick trip. One of my Barbra friends, Juliet, is there with her daughter. They're from Wales.
-
DR ELMORE that's a LOT of money.
-
The only thing you can do about those awful strange things people say is laugh (later) and use them as quotes.
So true 😊

If I recall correctly last winter was a cold one for you. Hopefully the early snow doesn't mean another bad winter.

Travel vibes for DR KEVIN H

Annabelle's mood changed from discontent to contented purring as soon as she entered the hall. I let her determine where she wants to go, so she headed up to the fourth floor, then the fifth, and then up to the roof. After that, she sniffed the boots and shoes in the hall belonging to the nice lesbians who own a dog named Lola before she decided to play tag in fifth floor hall. I caught her, picked her up, and we rode the elevator to three. She's been happy since we returned.
-
Thanks, DR Jrand64!

Every song on A Broadway Christmas, which is one of my all-time favorite CDs. I sometimes listen to it in July. I don’t care if it’s seasonal.

Thatch loves "The Little Drummer Boy," but it's the one holiday song I truly detest. Can you imagine a woman, forced to give birth in a stable, forced to lie in a pile of dried grass, surrounded by stinky animals and feeling like crap, being pleased by an obnoxious kid beating a drum in her ear?
-
Annabelle, Thatch, and I were taking a nap, and Joshie called and forced me to move to answer the phone.

I've never had any In N Out or Shake Shack foodstuffs. There's a Five Guys here in Olympia, but they are expensive and the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. ::)

One of the Carols for a Cure has The Annoying Drummer Boy, in which Mary rips him a new one. Very funny.
-
Jrand, is the nuclear hit "You're My Favorite Way to Keep Warm" for real?
It sounds terrific. Going nuclear could be the new going viral.
-
Larry, did they send you an invoice? I'm sure if you have your accountant look it over, he can knock off a thousand or two from the total.
Oy!!!!! and Gevalt!!!!

Good Annabelle News.
Yes DR FJL.....the theatre I worked at was doing a show called Coastal Disturbances by Tina Howe with a BEACH/Lifeguard Chair setting....so I wrote Beach Party Nuclear Protest (book & lyrics - music by David Meek) to play at 11 p.m. after the mainstage show....
We were quite popular with the populace - the lobby was full of folks waiting to get in to see us as the meager audiences and jealous cast members of the Howe play were pushing their way out of the building....
The cast indeed accused of us of stealing their toilet paper....so I bought a case of Charmin and set it on the makeup table.

It should certainly become a thing.
-
Real sand......it was everywhere.....and it was great!
BPNP was produced in cooperation with a local anti-nuclear war group....this was way back in 1990....
My program does not list the songs by title....those are the two that I remember....and the script and music has been lost to the ages....a video I had was eaten by a machine several years ago.....

HA for DR LAURA's quote of DR FJL's anecdote.

This is funny.
I am finally at the point where I can tolerate it. The first time I heard, or paid attention to the song was in 1963 on the Dick Van Dyke Christmas episode. Richie sang the song and I thought it was horrible.
-
Like the hokey-pokey, thanking this dead aunt is what it's all about.

Bruce, we were talking about BODYGUARD right here a few weeks ago. I think I was telling Jane and others about it. I thought it was excellent. It not only held my attention throughout -- I found it quite riveting. It's a BIG hit in the UK, right up there with DOWNTON ABBEY. I'm hoping there will be a second season, but I'm not really sure where they'd go with it.
Available on Netflix streaming.

I do recall that on Broadway, in the round so every seat was very close-up at the Circle in the Square, Tim Daly and Annette Bening were quite a sight to see in their bathing costumes (which seemed to have been made on a very tight fabric budget) circa 1986 or so.
The skimpiness of the bathing suits were integral to the plot. And perhaps the box office. :)
Timothy Daly posted the salute to the costumes in Twitter. This link should work.

TTFN.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I spent almost two hours putting A Carol Christmas on CD Baby - they handle all our digital sales plus sell actual CDs, too. They've made it so time consuming - I couldn't believe it really. I used to be able to get a title up in about thirty minutes. I also got it up on Amazon.

I shall shortly be on my way to sound check.

BK - Have you tried Createspace lately? Everything was in the US for my last book; this one, no one I reach is in the US.
The last book was Sept. 2017, so much changed in the past year in terms of getting help from them.

Very strange, Jane.

Be back later.

Very strange, Jane.
Strange they renewed our cards or strange OverDrive is still checking out the books?
-
It was nice of person to renew our cards. As for OverDrive I suspect there is a time frame from when the card expires and notification is sent to OverDrive. Of course you probably have better knowledge of this than my simply guessing.

I ushered for the non-Equity bus-and-truck tour of Rock of Ages. What a lousy show and very haphazardly performed. The leads could sing and they looked pretty, but they couldn't act. There was no chemistry. And most of the jokes fell flat.
"I'm not gay, I'm German."
Yawn.
-
The audience sat largely on their hands, but they left the theater happy. I don't know why. Maybe because it was over.
-
I should be off to bed.
-
I have to go to the dentist in the morning.

Doesn't that line usually get a huge laugh because it's so goofy?

As my dentist's long-ago hygienist would say, "You know the drill."

We watched EIGHT MEN OUT. It is such a sad story.

Back from a really funny performance of the musical revue. Huge laughs throughout and a standing ovation. Some bad lyric flubs in one song, but that happens. But the club was a disaster, just as I knew it would be. Amateurs. Head mics going out, dark lighting for things that should have been bright (I said this to the lighting guy when he'd written the show - he just looked at me and didn't give a crap), and their head mics are the cheapest imaginable and make everything sound bass heavy and makes the lyrics hard to understand. And whatever system is used to communicate orders to the kitchen wasn't working properly. Not going back there.

I should have stopped reading after the first two sentences! Well, anyway, congrats on the show going well despite the other stuff!
-
Good evening.
-
BK, sorry to hear the venue was crap. It sounds like they certainly deserved better.
-
Crazy weather today.
-
I went to the store and got caught in a deluge.
-
The rain was so heavy that I didn’t dare try to get out of the car at home.
-
So, I thought I would go for a drive.
-
Not a great idea.
-
I came upon a road that wa totally flooded.
-
I turned a corner to try and go around the flooding.
-
Naturally, I came across another flooded street.
-
Every time I turned a corner, I ran into another flood.
-
Finally, the dark clouds parted.
-
And the rain stopped.
-
One more post

-
Hi, jan.
-
When I got back home, the blue skies were out.
-
But they didn’t last long.
-
About an hour later, we had a huge thunder storm.
-
I didn’t see any lightning, but I sure heard the thunder.
-
It was rockin and rollin’ for quite a while.
-
Nicky was scared, but he stayed cuddled up with me.
-
Hi, Tom. Glad you got home safe but you gotta be more careful! You shouldn't go tooling around in storms 'cause you know there is gonna be flooding, and I need you here for my entertainment.
-
I did get to see some of the flooded streets I encountered on the local news tonight.
-
Starting on Thursday our temperatures are going to start dropping.
-
Freezing nights by the weekend.
-
Give Nicky extra cuddles from Auntie Jan.
-
And, of course, I will be driving home late in the evening.
-
Well, that is about it for me. I hurdled over 77,000 posts today!
-
Goodnight.
-
And on that note (C-natural), I'm off to rehearsal. Tonight is supposed to be all music, so I'm sure we'll get through anything that we haven't gotten through, yet...hopefully.
Be back later.
Tonight, we sang through the score except the solos for Ralphie and the songs just with the family. It all went pretty well. Now, I just need to memorize everything.
-
You can do it, George! I have faith!

Congrats on the really funny performance, but that's too bad about the technical issues. :-\

No!!!!!!!!!!!!
