Well, you've read the notes, the notes marched into March, and now it is time for you to post until the marching into March cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EMPYREAL!
-
First post after BK!
-
Today, will pretty much be a normal work day, except that I'm leaving work early to go to a paper tech of Bunbury (http://www.olympialittletheater.org/shows/bunbury/), the next Olympia Little Theatre show for which I'll be running sound. I'm looking forward to working on this show. I know most of the cast. That'll be fun. :)
-
But first, I must sleep, then hie myself to my aforementioned work.
Have a good day, all!
-
From the story DR George posted lzst night.
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/28/theater/scott-rudin-mockingbird-broadway.html
What a shame.
-
Good morning, all!
-
This email situation has completely taken over my life, and I am driven to see it corrected. This morning I will call my friend Heller, who runs the technology dept of a law firm and see if he can help me out over the weekend.
-
Annabelle knocked my cell phone off my bed stand this morning (shiny object, yum!) and it took me forever to locate it. I finally had to call the humber and follow the ring tone. I had been awake half the night fretting over the email mess so I was ready to kill her this morning.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all.

Re this morning's little snow covering,
plus the fact that we're getting more tomorrow morning and apparently a "real" snowfall on Sunday night/Monday morning...
As far as I'm concerned, this counts as March coming in like a LION, and I don't wanna hear about it at the end of the month. Period. Case closed.
-
I have spoken.
-
Good morning!
-
We got a dusting of snow with a bit more predicted for Sunday. That's okay.
March!
-
Congrats to MR BK on the rehearsal.....and continued Stay Well Vibes.
-
DR GEORGE that play sounds hilarious!
-
HMMMMMMMMM.....I remember Psyche '59 being quite a slog.....but maybe I just wasn't interested in it.....
-
No word from my friend Heller, so my anxiety threshold is dreadful. I snapped at Annabelle, who curiously climbed onto the printer and nearly screwed up the printing. I've been waiting to hear from Joshie about the New Yorkers recording cuts, and I'm waiting on a call from Rob Berman. I am not fit to be around today.
-
Vibes for DR elmore.
-
I am getting a haircut today. I might be bold and have her cut 2 inches instead of 1.
-
Thanks, Nursie! Heller just returned my call, and he will come over tonight to check out my mess. I'll take him to dinner to thank him.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I have no idea how much sleep - I think my body is so used to going to bed at three that it simply doesn't want to cooperate and sleep.
-
Continued vibes for DR ELMORE......I do not have an Apple machine and reading about them here on HHW makes me scared.....
-
Oy, what a morning.
-
Work is just off the rails.
-
Looking forward to ushering for Beethoven’s piano concerto tonight. I think it’s the second.
-
Good afternoon
-
It was snowing when I left for work this morning
-
It was all gone when I came home from lunch
-
2wo!!
-
DR GEORGE that play sounds hilarious!
Bunbury? Even though I'm just running sound, I went to their first read-through and really enjoyed it!
-
Vibes for DR elmore.
~~~SUPER DITTO!!~~~
Gratuitous Post #33!
I am getting a haircut today. I might be bold and have her cut 2 inches instead of 1.
Go ahead, Jane...live a little! ;)
Oh, no! Katherine Helmond, star on 'Who’s the Boss?' and 'Soap,' dies at 89 (https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/celebrity/katherine-helmond-star-on-whos-the-boss-and-soap-dies-at-89/ar-BBUgwsU). :'(
-
Yes DR GEORGE.....your alphabet play sounds confusing to me....
-
I liked Previn's score for DEAD RINGER.
-
Great. I hope he can fix the problem.
I did but boy 2 inches sure looks much shorter.
I saw that :(
-
I just read the part where she died of Alzheimer’s :(
-
Home again, home again jiggity jig
-
How lovely.
-
Friday night at home...I didn't like that idea a few years ago....now it's my favorite!
-
Lots of tennis to watch.....and some live Rugby at 11 p.m.
-
I hope DR ELMORE's friend can fix his APPLE.
I am reading BECOMING STEVE JOBS - but I don't think I will finish it. Kind of like the book before BORN TO BE KING about Prince Charles...
-
Snow tomorrow night - but clear tonight they say.
Okay here's a question......How many DRs still have a land line telephone?
I gave mine up in August [I think] - we had had the number since 1963......
-
The email isn't up and running yet but Heller tells me he'll have it fixed by Sunday. He's off to Philadelphia and an ailing mother, and I'm pondering dinner. In the meantime, I'm using my out of town webmail server.
-
I gave mine up in August [I think] - we had had the number since 1963......
I do.
-
Eighty-nine, folks. That's not an oh no, that's a wow, what an incredibly long and wonderful life. I adored Miss Helmond the one time I recorded her on Jeepers Creepers.
-
We had a wonderful rehearsal for the revue - author wasn't with us so I was able to clean tons of stuff up and we ran the entire thing, then worked on whatever needed it.
-
Then I picked up a package, did some banking, and had a chili, cheese, and onion hot dog, a cup of chicken soup, and a side Caesar salad. The dog wasn't as good as usual.
-
Now I'm home and can relax.
-
And rest.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
The Cardinal will be delivered end of day, so those will ship this weekend.
-
Well, we certainly need some posts. I'll do what I can.
I no longer have a land line. When I was renting my sister's house 14 years ago, I had a land line, then I got a cell phone along with the land line. I had both while I lived there, but when I moved into my condo 12 years ago, I decided not to get another land line. I've been cell phone-only ever since. A few years ago, my sister decided to give up her land line and was able to port her land line phone number to her cell phone, so that didn't have to change. She was VERY happy that she was able to do that.
I was almost at my acupuncturist's office this morning when I saw there had been an accident. It looked like an SUV struck a pedestrian, who was lying on the ground, in the crosswalk. Two big fire engines pulled up a minute later. I was once almost struck in that same intersection. Some drivers don't appear to even notice pedestrians.
-
Well, this an interesting development...Scott Rudin Allows Theatres to Stage the Aaron Sorkin-Penned To Kill a Mockingbird Following Legal Disputes (http://www.playbill.com/article/scott-rudin-allows-theatres-to-stage-the-aaron-sorkin-penned-to-kill-a-mockingbird-following-legal-disputes).
I am cellphone-only. But I've been getting a lot of dropped calls, first with T-Mobile, and now with AT&T. I always visualize a bird crapping on the cell tower, thus disrupting the call. I'm hoping I don't have to get a landline.
I haven't had many calls dropped after the call started, but there are of course times when I just couldn't get service. For some reason, the Washington Center for the Performing Arts is a real bad place for my phone...not others' though.
-
I was glad to find my acupuncturist in her office, as I believe she has a black Audi SUV, just like the one that struck the pedestrian.
How strange. Sometimes I can't get service, either, but it's usually after the call's been dropped. I suspect it has a lot to do with how close you are to a cell tower and what's in between. But I'm just guessing. I didn't have this problem until a few years ago.
-
After acupuncture I stopped for a veggie burger.
-
Larry, I'm glad Heller can fix the problem.
-
Have a good weekend, everyone.
-
And now, I must be off. I'm going to the paper tech for Bunbury because I can't be at the full rehearsal on Sunday because I'm triple booked. :P
Be back later.
-
Friday night at home...I didn't like that idea a few years ago....now it's my favorite!
It is interesting how we change. I am glad you enjoy your Fridays at home.
-
Tonight we went to Beaches and had our favorite waitress which was fun.
-
We do have another favorite waitress but she leaves about the time we arrive. Today she wasn't there at all. We wanted an update on the gentleman who's wife has the seeing eye dog. He had some major reactions to his radiation and had been in the hospital. One of the managers was able to give us a brief update and let us know he was home from the hospital :)
Over Keith's objections we still have a landline. I expect one day I will lose the argument.
-
Today we spoke to Bryan on the landline and we could each take a phone and talk. I like that.
-
Eighty-nine, folks. That's not an oh no, that's a wow, what an incredibly long and wonderful life. I adored Miss Helmond the one time I recorded her on Jeepers Creepers.
I am not surprised you adored her. It is still sad, even sadder though that she had Alzheimer's.
That would have been terrible. I can imagine your relief.
After acupuncture I stopped for a veggie burger.
Yum.
-
Vibes for Heller's mother.
My cell phone rings into my hearing aids and I can also hear conversations that way. The sound is actually better than when I hold a phone. If there is a way for me to use this method, while Keith can also join the conversation, I just might be sold on only a cell phone.
-
Today Keith called me in the market to find out where I was (we do this when we lose each other) and my phone didn't ring in my ears. While at dinner I had him do a test call and not only didn't it ring in my ears but my phone didn't ring either. No way could I hear this.
-
He tried again later and it worked.
-
i have both phones but prefer the landline. course it may have something to do with working for at&t for 40 years.
-
Do you still work for them? Sadly I do not like their cell phone service.
-
nope. retired nine years ago. course they pay me a pretty good pension so i guess i have to show loyalty.
-
my cell phone is with them, too, but i usually just use it for texting.
-
Loyalty is good when your pension is involved ;)
-
We are about to watch FIRST MAN.
-
Okay here's a question......How many DRs still have a land line telephone?
I gave mine up in August [I think] - we had had the number since 1963......
We still have ours
-
We're binging on a Netflix series, Designated Survivor
-
I held out for YEARS on getting rid of the landline, then we finally went for it about a year ago... but that was only because we could switch my well established number (since 1989) over to Comcast/Xfinity, AND because while still employed I had my office number on the cable network and knew from experience that it worked really damned well. So, same landline number, but it's an internet phone now. And that totally works.
The cell phones work at the house, but reception isn't quite as perfect as one would like. For that reason it's difficult to think of not having that other "solid" line.
-
Back -- from
Oh, you know. :)
I have now come to believe that Dolly really will never go away again.
-
Speaking of cell phones, this evening I set mine up as a "pit cam". It's unfortunate that we can't see anything of the show, but I did want to record the score, for what it's worth. When I see and hear how this comes out, I'll improve it however I can and get a better copy during one or more of the three remaining shows.
-
And so, we are supposed to have snow starting at some point during the night, and falling straight through the morning hours. And I have to be in Poughkeepsie by 1:00 pm for our matinee. I'll be exiting my driveway in the morning however I can and as early as I have to.
-
Vixmom -- there are a slew of very inviting diners up that way, and this evening I got a good solid recommendation from our cellist, another diner aficionado, on which one to head for and sit in tomorrow morning, assuming I get up there early enough to have time to kill. More later on this.
-
I have, of late, been thinking about getting rid of the landline here. I get fifty robo calls a day, never look at the call list, and unless I recognize the caller, never answer. And for the ten people who've ever called this number it would be simple to just tell them to call the cell and reception here is perfect. It's sixty bucks a month savings, maybe more.
-
BK - if you do that, can you get a short time where a message tells people the new number?
-
All our robo calls seem to be on our cell phone.
-
In honor of Mr. Previn, I'm listening to some of his great albums in The Classic Andre Previn box set. Currently Gerhswin's Concerto in F conducted by Kostelanetz with Previn at the piano, a classic recording any way you slice it.
-
I am falling asleep.
-
I hope I stay asleep untim morning.
-
Good evening
-
Page 4?
-
Really?
-
Seriously?
-
A beautiful day today in Tacoma.
-
Very sunny, but very chilly.
-
In fact, the next four or five days are suppose to be sunny.
-
But the Artic winds are expected to keep blowing for the next few days.
-
So, sunny to look at, but cold to be outside.
-
Tomorrow, I am going to look at a house and a condo.
-
Page four makes me very irritated.
-
The errant and truant will pay the price, let me tell you.
-
Hopefully, Tracy can go with me.
-
They will pay the damn price and that price is $3.24.
-
I've had it with page four.
-
She is a good judge of things.
-
I watched about thirty minutes of Psyche 59. It's obtuse and as irritating as page four. That said, I do like Samantha Eggar. But what a plodder of a film. I will try to finish it tomorrow night.
-
Page 5
-
Mr. Previn has played Gershwin and is not playing Shostakovich's piano concerto, one of my favorites.
-
I already hate the condo.
-
Because it is too expensive.
-
But I do want to see it - just in case!
-
March is going to be the month when the listings start to pick up.
-
I saw one listing for a house I really liked, but it has a finished upstairs room.
-
It would seem weird to buy a house with an upstairs that I could never see.
-
But there are stairs going up to the front porch, but I could put in a ramp for that.
-
I suppose I could rent out the upstairs.
-
But it still seems weird.
-
Hi, George.
-
Hi, BK.
-
Very sunny, but very chilly.
It was. :)
-
But the Artic winds are expected to keep blowing for the next few days.
No!! >:(
-
Because it is too expensive.
That's a good reason to not like it.
-
Hi, George.
Hi, Tom.
-
Because it is too expensive.
That's a good reason to not like it.
But I know I will love it!
-
I recorded tonight's episode of American Masters, and it's a documentary about singer Holly Near.
-
I saw her live in Seattle in the 1990s.
-
It was a wonderful concert.
-
Well, time to go to sleep.
-
Good night.
-
Good night, Tom.
