Well, you've read the notes, the notes reviewed the revue, and now it is time for you to post until the reviewing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TERGIVERSATE!
-
I'm listening to the Poulenc concerto for two pianos - what a great piece and the second movement is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Played by Gold and Fizdale with Leonard Bernstein conducting.
-
First post after BK!
-
First post after George
-
Why am I posting at 3:28 in the AM?
-
I should be sleeping
-
This is going to be a very busy weekend for me! First today, I have the last Alphabet Caper rehearsal before tomorrow's one and only concert performance. It should only last about an hour or so. After that, I'm going to my parents' to help my mom cut down some branches that got broken during the recent snow storm.
-
I was then planning on going to my sister's with my parents for our weekly family dinner, but I found out last night that there's a Bunbury rehearsal at 2:30 and I'm expected to be there. I didn't know that. Last night's paper tech went really well. I don't know how long that rehearsal will go, but if it's not too late, then I'll call my sister to see if our parents are still there. If they are, I'll go over for a while, then I'll come home for the rest of the evening.
-
Tomorrow, the Bunbury rehearsal starts at 9:30 in the fraking morning. :P I'll need to leave there at about 12:45 to go to a union meeting. Hopefully, I can leave soonly, because I need to go back to the Bunbury rehearsal. Then, I and a couple of other people will have to leave by about 3:45 because we're involved in the Alphabet Caper concert performance. THEN, my weekend busy-ness will finally be done!
-
I should be sleeping
Yes, you should!
-
Good night, Vixmom.
-
And now, I'm off to bed. I'll try to check in, but I might not be able to until after the Bunbury rehearsal.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning!
-
Re: DR Jrand68's TOD: I still have a landline. Like BK, I mostly get robocalls. I don't answer if I don't know who's calling. Messages are hardly ever left. I still prefer talking on that phone, however. I've had the same number for over 30 years.
-
Good morning, all!
-
More snow. It looks quite lovely outside.
-
I have nothing to report this morning. I'm in a holding pattern, waiting to move. I'm not comfortable.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’m in a somewhat tense holding pattern, waiting for the snow to stop so I can clear at least a couple of tracks for myself with the snowblower. Hopefully the end of the snow and the arrival of the plow guy will coincide to make my job a little easier. Whatever happens, I want to be out of here by 11:00-11:30 and on my way to Yonkers. I mean Poughkeepsie! Poughkeepsie!! Yes!
-
There’s no way I’ll be there in time to try one of the Poughkeepsie diners, but I can plan on going up in time tomorrow morning for a nice breakfast. Yes, that’s the ticket.
-
Annabelle and I have made our patrol. She played tag with me, then lay on the third floor and rolled around on the linoleum. We went down to the first floor, where she played on the steps in the lobby until the neighbor in 1C stepped out and Annabelle ran for safety to the second floor, where she went back to rolling about. Now we're home and I'm thinking about some breakfast.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I still have a landline, too. It prevents my internet bill from being $60 higher a month. I never answer it.
-
TOD:
Neal:
Cookie's Fortune
Hud
and essentially just about anything except The Fountainhead
-
TOD 2:
Will have to think about this one. I love Eggar but titles aren't coming to me.
-
Concert last night was great and odd. It was a mashup from last year's canceled British concert (Vaughn Williams, Holst, Elgar) and Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 2. The evening ended with 150 singers filling the aisles to sing words set to Pomp and Circumstance. It turned into a sing-along and the audience ate it up. Thrilling.
-
Off for the day.
-
But first ...
-
Two!
-
There is about 3 inches of snow out there
-
I am sure Chas will be by with his snowblower any time now
-
Travel vibes for DR CHAS SMITH......this is why I rarely do theatre from November to March.....I am NOT a good snow and ice driver.
-
Stumble through vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
DR GEORGE must be the most popular HHW'er this weekend.....
-
TOD-
Patricia Neal:
A Face in the Crowd
Hud
Death Be Not Proud
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Samantha Eggar:
The Collector
Walk Don't Run

Today is SCI FI day on TCM, so I shall watch many of those movies....it started late last night - but I am beginning with THE TIME MACHINE which began about 20 minutes ago.
-
Surviving the snow vibes for the HHWers in the NorthEast.
-
I was given the option of keeping my landline number - but I had been getting nothing but sales calls on it since my mother passed away....so I said: "Begone!"
-
That nature thing stopped JUST IN TIME and I got just enough cleared to get me out of here. Now for a five-minute breather and cool-down before getting showered and dressed.

I am watching that now
-
Have a good Saturday, everybody!
-
Good morning all! Up and waiting for our snow plow dude.
Ms. Patricia Neal: The Pawnbroker.
Does anyone have an opinion on her acting pre- vs. post-stroke, when she had to learn to speak again?
-
I should be sleeping
I feel bad for you. I slept an hour last night and then woke up. I vsared I would never get back to sleep, and then I drifted off again.
-
I woke up at 4:30 but dosed on and off for a few hours.
-
That nature thing stopped JUST IN TIME and I got just enough cleared to get me out of here. Now for a five-minute breather and cool-down before getting showered and dressed.
I was watching for good news after reading your concerns.
-
DR TCB I read a story today of a veteran who purchased a home and then was told he could not put in a wheelchair ramp due to the HOA rules.
Good hunting.
-
Sorry for the E&T-ness the past few months. My plan is to stay scarce so long that when I come back, everyone will be happy to see me! :)
-
;D Hi DR FJL.
-
Hi Jane! It's so nice to be back after all this time. :)
-
It's like - 72 hours! (That sounds longer than 3 days.)
-
Travel vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
DR WFO - She worked hard, but her performances before seemed of course to have a bit more spark....not that she doesn't do great work afterwards.....
-
DESTINATION MOON at 4 p.m. or so.....not sure I can make it through THEM! again....
-
I may go back and watch Logan's Run ONDemand instead.....
-
I've napped away the afternoon.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I had a bad night. On top of a bad night Wednesday night. I can handle one, but two in three days is too much!
-
It's raining here and rain is predicted for most of the weekend. I like the rain, but it does make me feel rather lazy.
My prediction: NOT a productive day!
-
There's tons of stuff here that needs attention. I tried to get Brian, my cleaning guy, here last week, but his work schedule changed at the last minute. (He has a full-time job, plus a part-time job, and moonlights for me.) This coming week he's fully booked. I knew this would happen. He's bright and hard-working; it was just a matter of time until someone saw his worth.
-
Better day vibes for DR JEANNE.
-
The Broadway producer at DR GEORGE's post is not as nice as he seems....it seems....
What good is it for a theatre company to have permission to present the Sorokin version when they've spend five or six weeks set building, lighting, sound designing, and the actors have LEARNED the Sergal version?
-
I still have a landline, too. It prevents my internet bill from being $60 higher a month.
Could you explain this, please? Are you referring to one of those packages that includes, internet, phone, and TV?
-
Better day vibes for DR JEANNE.
Thank you, Jack.
-
BK mentioned THE THIRD SECRET. I went over to Netflix to look it up, thinking I'd rent it. It seems I did so in 2007 and gave it 5 stars. I have no recollection of this. I guess I should watch it again. The advantage of memory lapses is that everything old is new again, right?
-
TTFN.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eleven hours of very needed sleep. I'll go gather the mail at some point soon.
-
I had a bad night. On top of a bad night Wednesday night. I can handle one, but two in three days is too much!
Sorry. Sleep well tonight.
-
This email mess is working my last nerve. I have not had a return call from my former Mac Mecanix's son, my friend Heller has left me in limbo at present - not his fault but it's not helping me out - and I may have to schlep the damned thing down to 20th Street to Mike's Tech Shop next week @ $100/hr service.
-
I looked around a bit on the web for solutions DR ELMORE - and I can't find anything specific for you.
-
Sorry for the E&T-ness the past few months. My plan is to stay scarce so long that when I come back, everyone will be happy to see me! :)
It's always nice to see you, Fred.
-
I still have a landline, too. It prevents my internet bill from being $60 higher a month.
Could you explain this, please? Are you referring to one of those packages that includes, internet, phone, and TV?
Sadly, yes. It's one of the many reasons I love AT&T so much.
-
I should be working. I would rather not.
-
Saw that Hugh Fordin died. I have a number of his albums. Wonder what this means for the future of DRG.
-
I've been gone enough that I don't know if anyone got my last Cross Works, so here's an expansion of it:
This involves three actors with linked names. But get the first one and the rest is easy.
Who starred in Hello, Jupiter Moon!?
-
I discovered that Kevin Pollack has (had?) a YouTube interview show. I watched a 2+ hour conversation with Tom Hanks today. It was like bing a fly on the wall at a dinner between friends. I really enjoyed it.
-
DR William F Orr, are you getting any messages from me?
-
DR elmore:. Just a sec, and I'll check. (Rhyme before reason.)
-
DR elmore:. Got it and replied. Thanks for alerting me.
-
Been listening to Sting's score for The Last Ship a lot lately. There are a few really strong songs in it. I see that he's bringing a production of the show, with him starring in it, to LA in January. I may have to make a weekend trip for that.
-
I see that the talentless Rob Ashford is set to direct the film version of Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close.
-
Filming on Cats was supposed to have begun in December. Did it?
-
DR elmore:. Got it and replied. Thanks for alerting me.
Good! I sent you another.
-
I see that the talentless Rob Ashford is set to direct the film version of Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close.
Is this his first attempt to mangle another medium after his gifts to choreography and stage directing?
-

I hope you get help before having to schlep to Mike's.
-

Yes.
-
Who is the audience for a film of Sunset Boulevard? Close's last picture, The Wife, seems to have debuted on airlines. And she and Jonathan Pryce were the only reasons to watch.
-
Page three? really?
-
Let's correct that ...
-
Four!
-
TOD 2:
Eggar:
Doctor Dolittle
The 7% Solution
A TV version of Double Indemnity
-
Off to dance.
-
Samantha Eggar:
WALK DON'T RUN one of my all time favorite movies.
-
I don't have a favorite Patricia Neal film and, unfortunately, didn't appreciate her until I was older.
I had no idea she had a stroke until we watched "The Patricia Neal Story" which starred Glenda Jackson, not Patricia Neal.
-
Ms. Patricia Neal: The Pawnbroker.
Are you thinking of Geraldine Fitzgerald?
-
Does anyone have an opinion on her acting pre- vs. post-stroke, when she had to learn to speak again?
It would be interesting to compare clips.
-
A mostly excellent stumble-through - a few lyric mishaps, nothing major. I had to work out a few intro and outro things I wasn't happy with, along with some transition things, and then just gave a few notes here and there to our wonderful cast. I was worried about the propensity of ballads but it really plays very well.
-
Home from dancing. Fun night.
Joy has a good group of students who are both eager to learn and eager to have fun.
-
But there was a little bit more alcohol than usual flowing. Someone brought a couple of bottles of chocolate wine. Not my sort of stuff.
-
Starting to watch Harold and Maude, which I haven't seen in maybe 30 years.
-
Gratuitous post No. 101!
-
Vivian Pickles is a delight.
-
Hello, 0 guests!
-
Hey, John, what dancing did you do?
-
Hi, Jan. Tonight, I danced waltz, tango, foxtrot, merengue, cha-cha, rumba and hustle. Maybe something else.
-
It was a fun evening.
-
And now I'm off to bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
But there was a little bit more alcohol than usual flowing. Someone brought a couple of bottles of chocolate wine. Not my sort of stuff.
I don't think I would like it.
-
I wish people would double check before sharing a missing person report on facebook. Tonight I double checked on that was from August 2017. Often if you open the story there is an update stating the person was found. ::)
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
But apparently not finished with page FOUR? Really?
-
DR GEORGE must be the most popular HHW'er this weekend.....
Unfortunately. ::)
-
;)
-
Today, I first went to the last rehearsal opportunity for the Olympia Family Theater's reading of their new show called The Alphabet Caper.
-
I got through the songs...fairly well.
-
I still need to work on the most difficult song, which is just me spelling Antidisestablishmentarianism.
-
:P
-
After that, I went to Olympia Little Theatre and helped the sound designer with the first act of the sound plot for [/i]Bunbury[/i].
-
PAGE FIVE DANCE!!
-
Marko, the director's husband, was entering the audio and image files when I got there.
-
It took quite a while, but he got the first act done.
-
Maybe I should say, we only got the first act done.
-
We tested a few things as files were being entered, but during the tech run, we still had to adjust things.
-
Tomorrow, I have to meet pug the director there at 9:00 am.
-
:o
-
We'll add the rest of the second act tracks and images.
-
Good evening.
-
Hopefully, it'll go more smoothly than today.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Page 5? Congratulations, George.
-
I can only stay at rehearsal until about 12:45 because I need to go to my union meeting.
-
Today was fun.
-
Page 5? Congratulations, George.
Thanks, but there was still plenty of time for you to turn the page if I hadn't. ;)
-
Hopefully, my union meeting won't go too long, because I'll need to get back to the rehearsal.
-
Tracy went with me to check out a few possible homes.
-
The first one we saw was the condo which was located out in Graham.
-
But then, I'll have to leave OLT's afternoon rehearsal to go to OFT's reading at 5:00.
-
We need to be there by 5:00, but the show starts at 6:00.
-
That should only take a couple of hours at the most, then I can come home again.
-
It was truly lovely, or even loverly.
-
It was truly lovely, or even loverly.
That was the expensive one, right?
-
But I insisted on hating the place, because it really is outside my budget.
-
But it was wonderful.
-
Tracy also loved it.
-
So, of course, I had to hate her, also.
-
But that condo will fill many future dreams.
-
I wish I could post a photo of the kitchen, because it was awesome.
-
But that condo will fill many future dreams.
Everything else will have to live up to that one, but just cost less.
-
I heard Tracy tell Holly that she really hoped I would find a house with a great kitchen, so I would start cooking again. She told Holly that I am a great cook. 😇
-
Today is SCI FI day on TCM, so I shall watch many of those movies....it started late last night - but I am beginning with THE TIME MACHINE which began about 20 minutes ago.
I recorded 2001 (which I've seen...years ago, though) and 2010, which I've never seen.
-
DR TCB I read a story today of a veteran who purchased a home and then was told he could not put in a wheelchair ramp due to the HOA rules.
Good hunting.
That's terrible. >:( There should always be those kinds of exceptions!
-
The Broadway producer at DR GEORGE's post is not as nice as he seems....it seems....
What good is it for a theatre company to have permission to present the Sorokin version when they've spend five or six weeks set building, lighting, sound designing, and the actors have LEARNED the Sergal version?
Exactly! And what if the theater company doesn't like the Sorkin version as much as the Sergel version??
;)

~~~Computer Vibes for Larry!!~~~
-
By the way, by the time I viewed the condo I hated, there was already an offer on the place.
-
By the way, by the time I viewed the condo I hated, there was already an offer on the place.
Wow!
-
The owners agreed to hold off reading the offer until I had seen the place and could make an offer if I wished.
-
Today was fun.
Good.
-
So, of course, I had to hate her, also.
;D
Smart move.
So true.
