Well, you've read the notes, the notes discussed Kritzerland at Vitello's 96, and now it is time for you to post until the 96 cows come home.

Last night, Tom asked if today I just have work and nothing else.  No, I don't just have work.  Bunbury opens on Friday so it's hell tech week.  I'll be there every night until Sunday, which will be the first matinee.  I think call time is 6:30 in the evenings, but it might be a little earlier.  I'll have to check.  THAT will be my week. ;D

TOD:

Play: Twelfth Night is a Shakespeare in the Park favorite. I’ve even seen it set in outer space.

Musical: Sound of Music. When I was reviewing theater, I must have sat through 20 community theater productions.

T.O.D.

Difficult question, but it would probably be SHOW BOAT, since my late publicity clients (Howard Keel and Kathryn Grayson) starred in the 1951 movie.  I have both the 1951 and 1936 versions on DVD and have watched both multiple times.

I've seen 2 major productions of SHOW BOAT on stage; one with Pat O'Brien and another with Ned Beatty as "Captain Andy".

When I was in high school in Seattle, I worked back stage on a Cirque Playhouse production of LIGHTNIN', which starred Charles ("Captain Andy") Winninger.  I thought he was a nice man, but for some reason, the cast and director Gene Keene didn't like him.  They started playing tricks on him, like delaying their entrances.  Not good.   :( >:(

The plowing neighbor has plowed.

The snowblowing DR Chas has snowblowed.  (snowblown?)

There's more to be done after a good long breakfast break, because it's high and deep out there. We just have to make sure our main paths are as clear as they can be by this evening when the temperatures fall to way below freezing, because whatever's left on the surfaces is going to turn solid and be with us for the next several days.

I am exhausted reading about everything the DRs here have been doing.....especially DR JOHN G, DR GEORGE, DR GINNY, and MR BK.

I am doing nothing today....tomorrow I have a appointment with a doctor.....and Wednesday is a shopping day, but that's it.

Of course in April, the theatre season starts with auditions for SHE LOVES ME....and goes non stop until the end of September.....I shall enjoy March as long as I can!

I just Googled Upper West Side Mac/Apple services, looked over the various companies, and spoke to Jed.  I have no idea what he's going to cost me, but we may have a date around 12:30 to fix this mess.

Movie I've seen the most: That's a very hard one, but these would be the candidates, excluding, of course, Nudie Musical: The Court Jester, Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown, It's a Wonderful Life - I'm sure there are a few others I could list.

Play: I actually haven't seen a lot of plays multiple times, so: Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf would probably be it, as I don't see Shakespeare.  And excluding anything I've directed, of course.

Musical: Once again, excluding anything I've written or directed, certainly A Chorus Line and Hello, Dolly would be at the tippy-top of the list.

I wish I could be a lot more accurate about this, but...

Movies:  I know I did a lot of repeat viewings during the 1970s of Citizen Kane, 2001, The Exorcist, West Side Story, Roger Corman's Poe films, and any number of Hitchcock films, so some segment of that group has to account for my highest numbers. Hitchcock just might be the winner there, but narrowing down which of several films would be nearly impossible.

Musicals and plays:  The unfortunate thing is that for a number of years I neglected to take proper care of a lot of my programs, and those would have gone a long way in answering this question. Plays, I really have no idea if one or more have been revisited enough to count. For musicals, West Side Story would have to be at or near the top of the list. Other contenders are probably The Music Man, South Pacific, maybe another R&H or two. I'd like to think there has been more variety when it comes to repeats, but I'm at a loss to come up with it.

Well, it's time to get back out there for round two, which will consist of digging the mailbox out from all the plowed snow, putting some salt down on critical areas of the driveway, and cleaning up the sidewalk around the house.

Movies: with cable, it's hard to tell since there's usually something on in the evening that I may be half watching.

But in a real movie theater, it would definitely be 2001:A Space Odyssey .  I first saw it on a visit to New York when it first opened and was so taken with it that I made a point of seeing it whenever I traveled in the next few years.

In Milwaukee, Dallas, San Jose, Pensacola, and on a ship at sea.

Post by: ChasSmith on March 04, 2019, 09:09:09 AM
Yeah, I saw it in original Cinerama theaters in Cleveland and Detroit, then in a few standard 70mm houses, a Dimension 150 (Egyptian), and in any number of 35mm showings.

Remembered while shoveling snow (because the phrase ‘shoveling shit in Louisiana’ popped into my head) that I can add Patton to my list of 1970s repeats.

This is in a way a relief to know that City Center and my sister-in-law Lady Joann Macbeth of Cranford NJ and former DR Julie Miller have the same lawyer, but I'm having no luck figuring out where whatever started started.

The amount of money involved for my sister-in-law Lady Joann Macbeth of Cranford NJ to have started this doesn't;t make the trouble seem worth it to me, and I'm absolutely mind-boggled by why the other two would have gotten involved in this.   My only guess is that there was (or is) more money involved  for my sister-in-law Lady Joann Macbeth of Cranford NJ than I'd thought.

TOD:
BK didn't ask about TV shows, but there are a number of TV series that I've watching many times:

THE DUCHESS OF DUKE STREET
WE'LL MEET AGAIN
WISH ME LUCK
RECKLESS
THE SYNDICATE: ALL OR NOTHING
LORD & MASTER
AIN'T MISBEHAVIN'
MANCHILD
AT HOME WITH THE BRAITHWAITES
THE GRAND
HEAT OF THE SUN
POIROT -- the whole series

As for movies, I've loved the Charlie Chan movies since I was a child. I still watch them. TOPPER, too.
Also,
PADDINGTON
PADDINGTON 2

Musicals:
VICTOR/VICTORIA

There are others that don't come to mind right now.

Thank you. I didn't actually have to attend because I was in another 2.5-hour meeting.

But the vibes did their job. We got the solution we needed. I can continue to work like crazy, just not super crazy.

I always liked Luke Perry. I never watched 90210 in any of its forms, but he was good in Buffy and he was amiable on talk shows. In reading about who is in the cast of Riverdale (people like Molly Ringwald), it makes me interested in that show. Has anyone seen it?

I finished up Harold and Maude. I remembered what happened to him. I didn't quite remember what happened to her.

It really is a strange, quirky and wonderful movie. Seeing Shampoo and now this really makes me want to see a few more of Hal Ashby's movies, including Being There and Bound for Glory. I have never seen The Last Detail, which Netflix didn't have.  .

The only one I want to pass on is Coming Home, which I really didn't like way back when and have no desire to see it again.

Musical: She Loves Me. Even with a so-so cast, it never fails to charm.  I first saw it at Town Hall with Rita (and not Chita) as Ilona.  Anyone remember when they did musicals sort of like Encores?

I just finished watching the Roundabout production on BroadwayHD.  Delightful!  But I do miss "Tango Tragique".

I wanted to watch it, but I just never made the time.  I know that they did a version of the musical Carrie and even released a cast album/soundtrack.  I was thinking about getting it, but I haven't...yet.

Topic of the Day:  two of the movies that I've seen the most have to be 1776 and Independence Day (the original).  For many years, my family would watch one or the other on July 4.  We'd switch off each year, so we didn't watch both in the same year.

Another movie that I saw in the theater FOUR times was the Leo/Kate version of Titanic. ::) The only reason I saw it that many times was because my niece LOVED that movie and she paid for me to take her.  She was too young at the time to take herself.

Be back later.

Play is probably 1776 which was the first Broadway show I ever saw.  Anytime I hear of a local production I try to go and of course I loved the Encores production.

Also in July of 1976 I did makeup for our college production which left me free to watch all 30 performances in which my college boyfriend was performing in the part of Caesar Rodney

There are too many movies I have seen more times than I can remember.  When I ushered a long popular first run film I worked more hours.  If memory serve me correctly.... Fahrenheit 451, Two for the Road, Your a Big Boy Now, and To Sir With Love.

Since then I have seen all of these more than once and Two for the Road countless times.

Oh, of course, 1776.  I force Joe to watch it every Fourth of July.

And DR vixmom, if you saw the original production, then you saw our erstwhile friend Duane in it.  I myself saw him in the national company of Bye-Bye, Birdie (the mayor), unbeknownst to me as I was a wee twig of a thing in high school.

Just been relaxing and listening to music - mostly from The Classic Andre Previn box.  I've gone over the song I'm singing at the memorial a bunch of times and hopefully my voice will be fine.  We do have our revue rehearsal tomorrow but I won't overdo the talking.  I'm too worried about going up on lyrics so I have them typed out in a large font that I can read easily, should I need to reference them.

Are you able to have some light card stock for the lyrics in case?  That's come in handy in some situations for lyrics.  (also larger font on sections where foul-ups are most possible, which seemed to come in handy on a recent show).

This business that former DR Julie and Lady Joann of Cranford have had info flowing back and forth through the same lawyer has clarified a lot.  When Julie sent a long email last April that had info from family gathering she'd never been at, Skip asked her directly if she'd  been in touch with my family, and she said she'd have no idea how to even reach them. (of course, that's silly, because they're well-off, but in the phone book).  But with the same lawyer involved, and now realizing the lawyer must have a hand in these emails, what was  a head-scratcher in 2018 is obvious in 2019.

And as Ive said, it seemed so odd that a weird email from Skip's old pal Jack at City Center on a Thursday May 16, and Lady Joann Macbeth of Cranford NJ who had a May19-22 trip to my parents in Florida planned for a while, just happened to find it of value to show my Mom on May 20.  (I'd always thought, all these years, how strange that an email from Jack that supports what Lady Joann Macbeth was trying to accomplish while in Florida happened to be in her hands just a day or so before the trip.)

Even stranger, I do the tax returns involved, and they've never gotten notices for missing information, and can't imagine the dollar numbers I've seen are worth this lawyering chicanery - so maybe it's sport to this lawyer?  Or maybe there are more dollar items that don't show up on the return than I'd have imagined but Lady Joann Macbeth knows about.
