Well, you've read the notes, the notes weren't quite notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows that aren't quite cows come home.

Growing up, I don't remember when I realized what a cartoon short in the movies was, ir that it was different than just a cartoon.  I think the first ones that I experienced were when Pixar showed them before their movies (especially before they were bought by Disney).

Annabelle's nose is clogged again this morning so she won't eat. I'm quite frustrated because I hate torturing her, and I have no money at the moment for a vet.  Thanks to that damned email issue last week that wiped out my last bit of funds, I'm out of money until Social Security lands eight days from now.

Speaking of that email issue, my friend who further complicated the situation and told me he'd get back to me the next day, has never contacted me since.  I guess he's now a "friend," and not a friend.

Today I'm back to the choral piece. Medleys are a bear when all three songs are in the same key of G, so your possible keys are only in the F, F-sharp, G, A-flat, A, B-flat range.  It would be great to have had at least one song in C or D.

Or perhaps he had/has a personal issue.  Why not reach out to him to see how he is

I enjoy some of Quentin Tarantino films, but when he completely changed history and messed up ON PURPOSE things that happened during WWII, it was very hard on me.

Because the fan boys will say it happened THAT way - since history is not taught in schools the way it used to be....

As the director said in LYLAH CLARE: "We say she died this way in the movie, and everyone will think that is what happened...."

A lot of people still think Jean Harlow died of pneumonia.....

TOD:

The one we saw the most POPEYE - I liked the later Paramount ones, some were mini musicals - but the Max Fleischer ones were a chore...

Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny were favorites.

Hated Little Lulu and Baby Hughy.....

Regarding yesterday's TOD, many years ago I was upset with a close friend, who I considered my best friend. She and I had often talked about being candid and able to talk about anything. But when I told her that I was unhappy with her it ended the friendship. I don't yell at people or call them names, but I was hurt and disappointed in her behavior. I later felt I was naive for being candid, but we had talked about openness a number of times.

That was a sad lesson for me. I am now more careful about what I say, knowing that people can be irrational, can get hurt, and, I think, few people really know how to handle delicate situations.

Well, according to the bio in his IMDb listing (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0590924/?ref_=fn_nm_nm_1), he's become a painter:
Quote
....In 1996, Minami decided to give up the hectic pace of show business and took up residence in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he has embarked on his third career... painter.

With homes in Santa Monica, California, Vancouver, and Puerto Vallarta, he has a varied source of inspiration for his work. His paintings reflect the color of Mexico combined with the flair of show business and has provided yet another creative outlet for this multi-talented man.

I agree with all the cartoons mentioned and would add Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle.  And even they aren't cartoons, I also add Beany and Cecil.

Well, they didn't do the Webber-Rice version of Wizard of Oz after all.

They did the movie with all the versions and a couple of the cut songs, The Jitterbug and If I Only Had the Nerve.

The first act of the show was good. The second was really lackluster.

And maybe it was the orchestration, but "The Jitterbug" sounded an awful lot like "Last Midnight" from "Into the Woods."

The understudy played Dorothy. She was OK, but a little too American Idol. The dog was excellent.

But the show was long. 2.5 hours of long. In the second act that meant counting down the scenes until the bitter end.

Thank you, DR George!  In this afternoon's post I received a check from Dublin's RTE Orchestra for €200.00/  My bank tells me it may take six weeks to get the money converted to dollars.

?? Thirty years ago, yes, but today?

I know!  Hopefully, they just say it takes that long so that they can give themselves a lot of wiggle room and then deliver it early...hopefully!

You got that backwards, John.  "The Jitterbug" was written almost 50 years before "The Last Midnight." ;)

Well, it's time for me to head home by way of my sister's house.  She's got some Girl Scout cookies that she doesn't want, so I'll take them.

Be back later.

Well, I got three and a half boxes of GS cookies from my sister.  Yummy!  A couple of boxes are now in my freezer for much later.

Speaking of that email issue, my friend who further complicated the situation and told me he'd get back to me the next day, has never contacted me since.  I guess he's now a "friend," and not a friend.

Or perhaps he had/has a personal issue.  Why not reach out to him to see how he is

Excellent suggestion.

That is sad you lost your friend instead of her working it out with you.  I have had a few of those losses because of not talking.

When I was 18 my best friend told me I did something that hurt her feelings.  I listened and apologized.  We are still the best of friends.

The new book is now up at Amazon and Barnes and Noble online.  But for those who like and/or do eBooks, that is also available at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PN59X9Q/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=murder+at+the+magic+castle&qid=1552435571&s=books&sr=1-1-catcorr

And it will be up for Nook shortly.

I will wait for the Nook option.  The backlight on my Kindle app is too bright when I read at night.
