Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Vitello's 98, and now it is time for you to post until the 98 cows come home.

Today, I have my annual eye exam.  I'm eligible to get new frames and lenses.  If I need a new prescription, I'll probably et new frames, and keep my current frames and lenses as another back-up.  If I don't need a new prescription, I'm thinking about trying contacts again.  The only reason that I stopped wearing them was that they can be just a little too inconvenient to deal with...not a lot, just a little.  But I actually have some sunglasses that I can't wear because of my regular glasses. So, the contacts.  Maybe. ;D

We watched the first 4 episodes of FOSSE & VERNON last night.

Not sure I like the flash forwards/flashbacks in time, but we, otherwise, are enjoying it...even with its dramatic license.

Congrats to MR BK & Co on the wonderful show.  It sounds DEE-lightful.

HA!  I too wish I had thought of DR VIXMOM's rejoinder.....however she seems a bit fragile and I wouldn't have wanted to be accused of bullying.

However if she is there again tonight and reads for one of the men's parts - I will indeed ask to read for Call Girl....and show her how to get some laughs with some lines.

If you're going to the store at the start of the week, bring a friend. Your shopping is best done with a partner right now. You may need some advice, or you may go in on a big purchase together. The benefits of the shopping excursion also may have nothing to do with the shopping itself. A conversation with a pal on Wednesday about the difference between the things you want and the things you need sets you up to be in deep-thinking mode on Thursday and Friday. This weekend, if you're feeling stuck, take a risk.

TOD

Cinco de Mayo was never a "thing" for me. I wasn't aware of it till moving to LA in 1972, and it was fun being around it then, but my big education came when I mistakenly took my visiting parents to Magic Mountain on that day in 1979. I think we all suffered PTSD from the massive crowds alone -- which had nothing to do with it being largely Hispanic, it was simply sheer madness trying to move about, to an extent we'd never known.

I think of it now as The Other St. Patrick's Day in regard to how people behave. Yesterday the cops were out in force around here due to the expected increase in the amount of drinking that goes on. So I'd never dream of going anywhere on the Cinco. My love for Mexican food and libation is much better served literally any day of the year other than that one.

DR JohnG, I liked The Actress.  I've never read the play, but, according to her biography, it's also a pretty straightforward account of Ruth Gordon's attempts to get her family's approval to go to New York and an acting school.

This weekend was a busy one.  We closed our little variety show with 2 shows on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. It was a great run, but a bit ill-attended.  This week is tech for Mamma Mia! (my guilty pleasure musical) and since the theatre I'm working at blew their musician budget for the season on the first 3 shows, this show is using tracks - and I'm running them.  There is an art to this, and being a musical director, I'm able to add nuance and stuff to the show just at a push of a button at the right time!   Plus, it's a nice paycheck!

I'm up, I'm - six hours of sleep.  Something in the pasta I ate did not sit well with me - it was very good, but some ingredient just would not digest well - it was spaghetti, some chicken and pancetta, cheese, oil, and cracked pepper and spices, I guess.  I suspect it was the cracked pepper, spices and oil.

This check is not only screwing up my financial life, but it's playing with my health - I cannot get to the pharmacy to pay for my meds from last week's visit to my HMO - and Annabelle's, but with my social life.  I cannot make tomorrow afternoon's dress for High Button Shoes since I must be here to deposit the check if it arrives in tomorrow's mail.  With the rate my luck is going, I'll sit here all day tomorrow and it will not be in the post.

I am not sure how much my crooked elbow will affect my swimming abilities, beyond what my elbow has done.  I am looking forward to finding out.

I hope the pool is open Thursday morning as I have a haircut on Friday morning & no way am I swimming after getting my hair done.

I did use DR VIXMOM's suggestion at the end of the day.....we had had three readings of The Call Girl with three Georges and three CGs.

Then the director asked if anybody wanted to read anything they hadn't read.....so I raised my hand and said:  "Maybe you would like to hear the Call Girl from and older and wiser perspective.....and male.....I think that would be interesting."

There was general mirth and merriment.....and then the director said thank you and declined the offer.

AND now we wait for the results.....

In the meantime, I got the royalty check today for the production of my play, Spencer TRACY, in Florida later this month.

Well, I believe the condo of my dreams is now only a memory.  On Saturday, I told my agent to offer a split on the Closing Costs; $2,500 from me and $4,000 from the Seller.  This morning, I sent my agent a notice that I could not offer any money towards the Closing Costs.  Although the Seller could conceivably offer to pay all of the costs themselves, basically that is the end of my involvement in the purchase of this condo.

The bad day continues. I came home and noticed a text from a friend who has been undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer. It turns out she has had a stroke on top of it all. Two years ago, Jan came through quadruple bypass surgery. I think everything has taken a heavy toll on her.

Lots of drama today about the revue.  Can't really go into it, but it's a real shame.  The entire cast is upset - well, we're all kind of thinking a situation was handled very poorly, but we have to do the show and I've asked everyone to please accentuate the positive, which they will because they're complete pros.  I'm the peacekeeper right now as it involves, at least at this moment, one person who is rightfully very angry and upset, as they should be.

Watched a Spanish movie, kind of a slow-burn revenge picture, that just is too slow for its own good, because once you realize that it's simply a mood piece and that nothing is really what it seems, then it just becomes a bit annoying and the ending is not really an ending, nothing is resolved, and that's not my favorite kind of movie.
