She's been cleared (so far) to work two hours a day for the next two weeks. Then, they'll re-evaluate and hopefully she can work more hours, eventually coming back full time.

I had a lot of weird dreams I no longer remember well enough to tell, but by 6:00 I was ready to get up. The cats are fed and I am on my first cuppa coffee.

She needs more correction from Annabelle, and I hope that continues. Annabelle wanted to mother Thatch when he came in, and I'm hoping that she will do the same to Stella. Just now Stella ran up to Thatch and hugged him, then ran off. Thatch sat there doing nothing.

In some ways, it would be like telling a story today entirely through emails. It allows different views of the same thing, for example, without breaking the narrative.

I remember telling her, knowing how big a fan she was, that Barbra S would be performing in NY a few months later. She thanked me. Maybe she already knew and was just being polite. Brent's partner (now husband) took about 4 photos of Sierra and me and my eyes were closed in every one of them.

I did, however, read UTDS back then, and remember liking it, and it’s very likely I went to the film as soon as it opened. I’d like to watch all three of these now.

Yikes. I never saw it and I had no idea it was something like what I’m hearing. I will get to it, though, and now I’ll be prepared. Or as prepared as one can be.

It's a beautiful film, nostalgic in its early 1940s French boardingschool days, and then it kicks hard; the ending is absolutely devastating, giving the title an ironic and tragic twist.

So, when it's due on Saturday, it means they should mail it at the beginning of the week. I suspect they mailed it on Thursday or Friday. Pathetic.

I would add these! I love Au Revoir Les Enfants, but it's too painful and heartbreaking to watch again. I needed to be carried out of the theatre at the end.

Yup. I felt the same way. It took a lot to watch that. I can imagine all it took on Louis Malle’s part to be honest about his own role in the story. Devastating.

I have never watched it again.

Are you having one person read the whole book? Have you thought about having two people read it? One for each of the two women, even though it's not in the first person? Just a thought.

But there is one scene that was just amazing of Vincent painting a canvas. There's such excitement in his efforts to capture what he's feeling that even the paint can be seen running off his palette.
