Well, you've read the notes, the notes were cast, too, and now it is time for you to post until the cast cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HERMITAGE!
-
First post after BK.
-
I was replying to jan's post last night when the day got locked (multi-post message to follow):
Hi, NWies, how's it going?
For the most part, today [Friday] was a good day. When I was at lunch, I got a voice mail message and tried to listen to it, but I couldn't hear it. ??? Then I remembered that yesterday [Thursday] I got a call and couldn't hear the person who called. It turned out that they could hear me, but I couldn't hear them. I guess I screwed up something with my phone when I fixed the screen a couple of days ago. :o
-
When I came home, I carefully (I thought) took it apart again, and just looked to make sure that the connections were connected, and they were. But then when I put it all back together, the screen was totally wonky (I can't even describe how weird-looking it was) and I couldn't use it! I couldn't even log into the phone to do anything, not even turn it off!
-
So, now whadda ya gonna do?
-
It was after 9 pm and most places were closed, so I quickly drove to Fred Meyer. They didn't have any unlocked phones that used sim cards, so I figured that I would go to Verizon in the morning. On my way back home from Fred Meyer, I thought about putting my old broken screen back in...it couldn't hurt. So, I took apart my phone (without being able to shut it down first...I just popped out the battery), carefully put the broken screen back in, closed it all up, and it works! WHEW!! :D
-
It's still cracked, but it worked. I guess I need to buy a new screen again. At least, now I really know how to fix it! ;)
-
THE LION IN WINTER (I love that score)
BORN FREE
The James Bond Films
-
That's good.
Just saw on tv that a man came home to find someone had broken into his house.....................and cleaned it. Even made toilet paper roses in the bathroom. Wish they'd come here.
-
It is very late and the pain pills are kicking in.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, jan.
-
Good night, Tom. Sleep well! Hugs to Nicky.
-
George, stop throwing your phone around. How's my niece tonight?
-
What did you have for dinner tonight?
-
Good night, Tom.
~~~Feel Better Quickly Vibes for Tom!!~~~
-
George, stop throwing your phone around. How's my niece tonight?
Neve is doing well...climbing right in front of me while I'm trying to write on my tablet. ::)
;)
-
Isn't wonderful how helpful they want be?
-
She doesn't want to be helpful, she just wants to be in front of me and in my line of sight whenever I'm watching any kind of screen!
-
My cat always sat on my newspaper while I was trying to read it.
-
Well, it is late so I will say goodnight. Sleep well!
-
Thanks, jan. Good night to you, too!
-
I just bought a new screen. It should get here by a week from Monday. As long as my broken screen works, I'll be fine.
-
And now, I must be off. I get to sleep in, and have no plans until I usher for Fun Home tonight for the third time this evening.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR Jan, that story about the break-in housecleaner was all over the NY news yesterday. I too wish he'd show up here, but I'm afraid he would leave in complete disgust.
-
BK, you should do the audiobook for Patrick Bronstein Presents.
-
This will be a long work day, as will be tomorrow and Monday. Our first band rehearsal is on Wednesday, and I want to finish my assignments so I can take on anything else Rob wants me to handle.
-
I used to have only Annabelle helping me write, but I think she really just likes being close and in the know. Now that Thatch has decided he wants to be a composer, I have to wrestle him as well for desk space. I'll let him write a few thumb lines, but no bass parts.
-
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a magician, a train engineer, and a doctor. I think a music theory class will change Thatch's composer dreams.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
DR TCB, sorry about your back. You must be careful this week for your upcoming move.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good to hear the Adriana book has been cast as well.
-
Well, here we are, officially in Memorial Day Weekend 2019. How is that possible?
-
No big plans, but it’s a busy weekend around here nonetheless.
I need to start the ball rolling by picking up cat food this morning, and getting a dead headlight replaced. It’s been five years since the last time one went out. I don’t remember which one it was then, but it’s best to do both of them and be done with it, so that’s what I’ll do.
-
I've made my patrol with Annabelle and I need to go to the market before I begin work. I need more kitten kibble for Stella, and a few staples like eggs for myself.
-
T.O.D.
SOMEWHERE IN TIME
Written by my late friend, Richard Matheson
-
I don't like much of Don Black's song lyrics but I like much of Barry's score to Alice In Wonderland.
-
Well, here we are, officially in Memorial Day Weekend 2019. How is that possible?
It seems to have gotten here quickly.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for TCB and his back.
TOD:
Lolita, My Love
Passion Flower Hotel
-
It’s to early to start the day.
-
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a magician, a train engineer, and a doctor. I think a music theory class will change Thatch's composer dreams.
I wonder if in Thatch's mind, living with Larry and his siblings is like the palace the Aristocats lived in
"practice your scales and your arpeggios... "
I forgot the eggs! I am back from the corner bodega and I am not going back today.
I've never seen this but it looks like something the cats would enjoy watching. It also makes me realize how lucky I am to no longer have a piano!
-
Saturday and tomorrow is RACE day!
-
Back vibes for DR TCB.
-
Temple vibes for MR BK.
-
For the TOD, I will go with
BORN FREE.
I played that LP over and over when I bought it......for some reason Side 1 was much better than Side 2.....so it got played a lot more...
-
Hello from the car place.
Waiting for them to get to my headlight bulb replacement.
Mine’s just enough of a pain in the ASS that I let the professionals do it.
-
And it appears I have another picture to post when I get back home! :)
-
I'm up, I'm up - I was in bed by twelve-thirty and - could not fall asleep. Have no idea how much sleep I got but certainly not more than five hours.
Saturday morning greetings! I've just returned from the AAUW Garage Sale venue, where I dropped off a carload of stuff for the sale. It's in 2 weeks.
There was a Jeopardy answer this week for which the question was "Who are the Sherman Brothers?" and no one, including the 2-million dollar man, got it.
-
I shall now be on my way to a Bat Mitzvah.
I want to make a rhubarb cake but I can't find the right recipe, the one I love with pecans in it. I do have another recipe that looks good, but it's not the same.
-
So, I think I'll take a nap. Looks like it might rain.
-
.
-
I love the way Thatch is watching her so placidly.
-
DR ChasSmith, thanks for posting this. I'm so pathetic with this phone camera. Just after I took this Annabelle jumped onto the toilet seat and began grooming her and I missed it! At one point I had all three on the toilet seat and missed the opportunity. Those darn cats won't hold still.
-
I had no idea Thatch was in the photo!
Yes, that was a miss! :)
On the other hand, that's also life trying to photograph cats. Sometimes you get the money shot, but they're in the minority.
Hello, everyone.
Thank yous to DR Laura and TCB for last night's birthday wishes.
What a shame! I suspect it comes down to cultural literacy and how so many younger people are only aware of their own generation.
Anything called "Three on a Toilet" that didn't have a money shot would just play the art film circuit for a week, then off to video oblivion.
Maybe borrow a money shot from "Gay Pur-ree."
What ever happened to the revival of their OVER HERE that really looked like it was ready to happen?
-
It looks from google like it was almost a decade ago.
Anyway, that's a show that if done well could make all ages think "The Sherman Brothers" - but so many people knowing their work and singing it every day ain't no slouch.
-
Good afternoon!
I'm waiting for it.
-
I have put the rhubarb cake into the oven.
-
I cleaned up a little in the garage, which surprised even me.
-
I still have to do some gardening, but it's too hot.
-
I just did some mowing and some leaf/debri blowing. and though it's only around 70 here now (with breeze!), I'm sweating like a hog. But that's me. I have always had zero resistance to anything in the gamut from perspiring like a gentleman to sweating like a hog.
(Do hogs actually sweat, I wonder?)
-
Stella has discovered that she too, like Annabelle and Thatch, can climb up to Daddy's worktable. She's gonna be in that cage a lot for the next three days if i'm going to finish this job. Thatch and Annabelle might end up with her.
-
LOL......lovely Kat Foto.
-
I need more kitten kibble for Stella, and a few staples like eggs for myself.
Cue credits: "HOW STELLA GOT HER FOOD BACK"
-
Watching Vagabond. As much as I love Agnes Varda, this is a sad, sad story.
-
Heating up some leftover lo mein for dinner.
-
I managed to clean up a little more in the kitchen. I discovered I have too much tea. I think I have a dozen different types of herbal tea. I need to get drinking.
-
The cake is still warm. I'm taking it with me to the dance tonight. I hope it's good.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
Hello, 1 guest!
-
I'm going to try life without Facebook for awhile. We'll see how long that lasts.
-
I'm in the midst of two book reads on the Anthony Trollope group and the Emile Zola group. I hate to do that.
-
Finally home. The Bat Mitzvah was lovely and much longer than mine - I think it also included other services at the beginning. After, they had some food and they showed a fun video - I had to leave right after the video so didn't see Barry Pearl or Hadley and her folks.
-
Then I visited Sami - that was fun and one of their dogs, the older one, Ginger, decided that she was completely and irrevocably in love with me. It was really funny.
-
I was there about forty-five minutes, then went to the mail place and got one package, stopped at Gelson's and got enchiladas from the hot food bar along with one bite of pasta and one bite of teriyaki chicken - literally one bite - so all that probably didn't come to more than seven hundred calories, if that.
-
I came home and ate that all up, answered e-mails, and began listening to more Hindemith.
-
I am now quite filled with enchiladas.
-
I was hoping for bit more of ME time but the day is practically done.
-
This is only the second time I have been inside a temple since I was Bar Mitzvah in 1960.
-
You've never done a show that was in a. temple space?
-
Peace?
-
No shows in a temple space, no.
-
Dozed off for a bit.
-
Awwwwwwwwwwwww.....for the photos.
-
Temple always makes me think of Samson.....
-
Thank you, DR Chassmith!
-
Amazing how they’re both accepting and settling in with her more every day.
-
Amazing how they’re both accepting and settling in with her more every day.
When they tire of her, Annabelle and Thatch look for exits. Thatch plays with her more than Annabelle, and maybe it's because they are closer in age. I think Annabelle's becoming the den mother.
-
It's still cracked, but it worked. I guess I need to buy a new screen again. At least, now I really know how to fix it! ;)
What a relief.
-
My cat always sat on my newspaper while I was trying to read it.
Happy memories.
-
.
Stella is a cutie.
-
The cake is still warm. I'm taking it with me to the dance tonight. I hope it's good.
I expect it will be.
I find that shocking :o
Ditto.
I am falling asleep after a wonderful day.
That's good news.
Thanks.
I expect it will be.
It was excellent. I will try to remember where I found the recipe. I think it would work with cherries, peaches plums and berries.
-
Five!
-
Dancing was fun tonight, but it's really summer now. It was hot outside after leaving the dance hall.
-
Hello, 5 guests!
-
Watching the extras for Vagabond. Agnes Varda and her cats. They aren't too much in the movie, but they are in the extras and they're wonderful. They always have a way of upstaging whoever's talking.
-
Good night, all.
-
I dozed off again. Now listening to some homegrown CDRs I made long ago. Fun stuff - easy listening Don Costa and various show cover albums.
-
Good evening.
-
It was a nasty day today in Tacoma.
-
Just when I got to the furniture store, the sky really opened up.
-
I sat there for about ten minutes and it didn’t seem to be getting any better.
-
I jumped (as well as I can jump) and managed to put mt scooter together in record time.
-
However, that was when I realized I couldn’t find my scooter key.
-
I tried fumbling through my coat pockets until I realized I had very stupidly put the key in my pants pocket.
-
By now, my jeans were soaking wet and I had a terrible time getting my hand into my pocket.
-
Every time I update and correct stuff on my Wikipedia page, someone immediately goes in and adds things to it, all designed to lessen things. Gee, I wonder who that could be? Apparently there is no rest for our little stalker. Because really, who else would go to my Wikipedia page every day to see what's new and then edit it? Not brain surgery. The next time, I report it - and they absolutely can track the ip addresses of those who edit, signed in or not.
-
I continued to fumble in my pocket, while I watched two sailboats and a giant ark floating down Interstate 5.
-
Finally I got my hand around the key and I shoved it into the ignition and sat down on the wading pool scooter seat.
-
I can not begin to tell you how thrilled the furniture store staff was to see my ride the wave thru their front door.
-
However, the attitude changed noticeably, when I flashed my gold store credit card.
-
The nice receptionist did point out that they didn’t have gold credit cards, and that I was waving around my Tacoma library card.
-
Two hours later, the rain had slowed to a drizzle and I left the store the proud owner of a new sectional sofa and a brand new adjustable bed.
-
I went a bit crazy after trying out the adjustable bed. It felt so incredible on my back and it also vibrates on my back or my feet.
-
I figured the bed was worth every penny, and besides I like eating Top Raman.
-
Maybe I can get my doctor to give me a prescription for the bed and then I can deduct it from my income tax next year.
-
Anyway, the bed and half of the sectional will be delivered on Friday.
-
BK, you should do the audiobook for Patrick Bronstein Presents.
That would be great!
-
Where is everyone? You would think it was a Saturday night.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Where is everyone? You would think it was a Saturday night.
I'm here. I ushered for the final performance of Fun Home (it was almost a full house!), then went to Applebee's (the chicken in my Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad wasn't great), and now I'm home.
-
I have a question. In the musical INTO THE WOODS, Cinderella doesn’t have a fairy godmother, but instead gets her ball gown from the magic tree at hr mother’s grave. Is tha actually in any version of Cinderella other than the Brothers Lapine?
I vaguely remember reading something about that, but I can't remember what it was about. :-\
