Well, you've read the notes, the notes were busy, and now it is time for you to post until the busy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: OTIOSE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after BK and Dino at the piano.
-
And a Very Happy 85th Birthday to (occasional) DR ArnoldMBrockman!
-
Well, it's time for me to go to bed now. Today is the monthly cut-off for paying invoices, and I haven't done the big Amazon.com invoice, yet. It'll take most of the day, but I'll be able to get it done.
Have a good day, all!
-
I don't believe Mr. Brockman is an occasional dear reader anymore. He hasn't been here in YEARS, maybe even a decade. He used to have fun here. Alas...
-
He was here recently.
-
On May 1st.
-
Happy 85th birthday DR ArnoldMBrockman 🎂🎁🎉🥂
-
I slep about an hour. Sigh. It will be a long time before I am able to sleep again. Not untul tomorrow night in Paris.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have two songs to go to finish my work on this 92nd Street Y show. I'm getting a late start this morning because of Stella's trip to the vet.
-
I thought Matthew Goode was wonderful in Downton Abbey. I think he'd be good in Cary Grant-like roles.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’m up early because we have this funeral to go to. Lovely way to start the week, eh? Well, it all gets better starting this afternoon.
-
It looks like Matthew will not be in the forthcoming Downton Abbey film.
-
Two cats at my feet are singing the When in the Hell Are You Going to Feed Us Our Breakfast song. It’s an old favorite around here.
-
DR Elmore, the latter part of the week is crazy and I don’t know if I can pull off getting to the Y for that show. But I sure would like to try.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy birthday, DR ArnoldMBrockman!
-
Good morning!
-
Have to get ready for my ophthalmologist appointment.
-
TOD:
Sondheim (it would need to be another miniseries to get in all the music)
Proust
Harriet Tubman
Zora Neale Hurston
-
Happy Birthday to DR ArnoldMBRockman!

I'm so afraid of that song I try desperately to keep my 6:30 schedule.

I would swear that neither Thatch nor Annabelle created half the trouble that Stella does. I had to shake the clean litter off her because she insists on playing with my scooper and jumping in and out of the boxes while while I'm cleaning them. As soon as I open the refrigerator door, she climbs inside and I have to dig her out. While I'm working, she takes a running jump, climbs up my back to my shoulders and jumps onto my work. She does the same when I'm sitting at the computer.
-
And speaking of Stella, we must prepare for our vet trip.
-
Good vibes!
-
Happy 85th birthday DR ArnoldMBrockman 🎂🎁🎉🥂
I've going to quote that because I can't get my own emoticon array to look that fun!
Happy 85th birthday, dear Arnold!!!
-
Page Two.
Happy Birthday, Miss Carroll Baker....
And DR ARNOLDMBROCKMAN
-
Sounds like a great rehearsal and a great show!
-
We have a rehearsal tonight....this is the part of the play where I am in that LAST five minutes.
In the other part of the play - I am in the FIRST five minutes.....
-
I also need to take a few more photos for the SHE LOVES ME slide show and get the names of all of those in the orchestra....
Otherwise - the news story is WROTE!!!
-
We are back from a lovely visit to Dr Mohr and City Vet. I really like her.
-
Unlike Annabelle and Thatch, Stella is a screamer. She was taken back to the clinic from the exam room for her two shots and claw clipping. I could hear her screaming all the way from there. Dr Mohr says she's going to be a handful and a fireball.

Thank You To All My Friends On This Here Site For Wishing Me Birthday Greetings On This My 85th Birthday. I, Sincerely,Appreciate Your Kind Thoughts !
-
I’ve been reading Robert Caro’s Working, which is about his work on massive bios of Robert Moses and LBJ. Moses would make a great biopic.
And speaking of Working, Studs Turkel would also be good.
-
Jrand, maybe I missed some posts - but when the point came up about using Doris Day's recording of the title song, did they know it's a Bacharach-David song, so it's not a "typical" Doris Day song?
Later add-on: Oh, they are using the song?

It is good to see you her 😊

He did post a couple of times this year (and today, even!), and a few times each of the last several years. Very occasionally, but it hasn't been years. :)

Sondheim (it would need to be another miniseries to get in all the music)
Proust
Harriet Tubman
Zora Neale Hurston
I have no opinion about Proust and Hurston, but I agree with Sondheim and Harriet Tubman.

I'll also add The Manhattan Transfer. There's actually a Kickstarter campaign to fund a documentary called THE MANHATTAN TRANSFER STORY: A Documentary (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/manhattantransferdoc/the-manattan-transfer-story). "An intimate, inside look at the nearly 50-year journey of the most significant vocal harmony group in the history of modern music!" :D Hopefully, it can make its goal.
-
Kind of a disappointing last day with rain. Better today though than sooner.
-
We are on our way to the airport.

~~~Travel Vibes for Jane and Keith!!~~~
I was thinking about yesterday's musicals topic. I think my three favorite shows recently were Once, A Gentleman's Guide To Love and Murder, and Bright Star. I liked Come From Away, but I found its score all sounded the same to me. I did not like the book to The Story of My Life very much, but I liked the score.
I didn't see Tuck Everlasting, but I like the score, and the same is true of Catch Me If You Can.
-
I'm down to my last number, "The Sweetest Sounds."
-
I'm up, I'm up - loud mowing at nine - check. Helper drops stuff off at ten - check. Phone rings at eleven - check. Finally up at 1:20 after nine hours of sporadic sleep - check.
-
Very groggy - check.
-
Happy Birthday Arnold Brockman
Is there an echo in here?
~~~Travel Vibes for Jane and Keith!!~~~
Thank you.
-
We had a nice dinner at the airport. Keith had fish and chips while I had salmon with string beans.
-
Is there an echo in here?
;D
Thanks for the travel vibes.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Travel vibes to Jane & Keith for an easy flight and a lovely visit.
Jane, how long is the flight from Montreal to Paris?
-
Happy Birthday, Arnold!
You knew to check in here for birthday wishes.
-
Thanks Jeanne. The flight is 6 hours and 40 minutes.
-
The plane is here so hopefully we will depart on time.
Yesterday Craig's flight was 15 minutes late while Bryan & Kate were delayed 2 hours.
-
I didn't realize that Matthew Goode was a heartthrob. That is certainly a nice photo of him that DR George posted last night.
I liked him very much in DANCING ON THE EDGE, then was pleased to see him in DOWNTON ABBEY. He's a very capable actor.
-
Thanks Jeanne. The flight is 6 hours and 40 minutes.
Ugh! Maybe you can sleep a bit.
-
I really like the idea of getting together in a new place, so you can not only see one another, but also experience some new things.
-
We are about to board 😊
-
I tried a vegan whipped cream for the first time today. It was surprisingly good. Most vegan cream is made from coconut milk or coconut cream. I don't know what this was made from. I'll have to ask. I rarely eat real ice cream anymore. The vegan ice creams are sooo good! Harder to find, but worth it, IMO.

That would be a very welcomed surprise.

Do they have less fat and/or sugar?

I agree and hope we can do this more often.

I didn't realize you ate fish

Probably no less sugar, though I haven't checked. Coconut milk contains saturated fat, but it's a healthy saturated fat, the only one I can think of.
My latest and greatest vegan ice cream love is Daiya's Chocolate Fudge Crunch ice cream bars. To die for! These are soooo good!
-
Aren't those a local treat?
-
Aren't those a local treat?
The vegan whipped cream is local. I tried it at the nearby salad bar ( a very extensive salad bar!)
But Daiya products, as well as So Delicious and Coconut Bliss, are national. Even some of the supermarkets carry these brands. Zero cholesterol.

TTFN.

Have a great flight!

The Daiya bars are now on my shopping list. I love my Alexa ap on my phone.
-
Time to go into airplane mode.
-
Back from getting some packages and Taco Bell. I've eaten, I'm at 1200 calories, and I'm listening to music after conversing with Richard Sherman.
-
A lull.
-
And on that note (A#), I'm leaving work.
Be back later.

I saw a regional production of Catch Me If You Can and like the score much better than the book. I need to get the score for Tuck Everlasting.
Some letdown scores from when I was in New York a couple of years ago were Amelie and War Paint. I liked A Bronx Tale in the theater, but I never listen to it. Come from Away was better in the theater than on CD, too.
-
Watching the last of Shoah: Four Sisters. The interview is taking place in Hungarian while the questions are in French.
-
Now on to something funnier. I'm starting the Life Aquatic Life with Steve Zissou. I haven't seen it since it it first came out, which is 14 years ago.
-
What is this page three malarkey?
-
Where is everyone tonight?
-
Maybe they're already on page four.
-
Let's find out.
-
Four!
-
hELLO, 0 GUESTS!
-
Guess I was on caps lock.
-
It was a post.
-
I apparently didn't make the cut on the possible job. And that's OK.
-
Something might be happening at work that would be good news. We'll see.
-
Hey, Dancin' Man, what's new in San Antonio?
-
Saw olives growing on my tree for the first time.
-
That was exciting.
-
But I need to get to bed.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
Good night, Jan.
-
Good night, all.
-
Didn't make the cut? WTH are they looking for?
-
DR FJL they don't know a typical Doris Day song from an orifice.....no decision has been made.
I just finished the Pre Show music.....so Intermission Music and then the ending song will be next....probably next week...
We shall see.
My leisure suits arrived - the show is now taking place in the 1970's in case I hadn't told you.
-
I liked tonight's episode of F/V.....
-
I think I am staging 12 days of Christmas for the director of SHE LOVES....she is at the end of her proverbial rope...
-
I watched a motion picture on free Amazon Prime - some piece of crap from the year 2018 called The Commuter, another Liam Neeson action thing, with a plot right out of Screenwriting 101, a villain you know is the villain the second he makes his appearance ten minutes into the film - so that hoary old twist is just one of the stupid things on view. The terrible CGI. The lying about the box-office gross - they're saying this thing only cost 40 million and that it made 119 million. Well, in the US, the ONLY place where grosses can actually be verified and tracked, it was a flop at a gross of 36 million. The rest, they SAY, comes from overseas, where anyone can actually say any gross they like. Ask the profit participants how much they've made - the answer will be zero.
-
Now I'm listening to some George Antheil piano music.
-
What is this page four malarky?
-
What is this malarky malarky.
-
Why can malarky be spelled that way AND malarkey?
-
What is the key to malarKEY?
-

My nephew's bar-mitzvah movies grossed virtually nothing in the US, but made a fortune overseas. Records were broken in Israel.
(We decided gifts from rich family members counted as grosses.)
-
Something might be happening at work that would be good news. We'll see.
Fingers crossed for good news!
-
I apparently didn't make the cut on the possible job. And that's OK.
Darn.

~~~Vibes for Good News at Work for John!!~~~
I liked tonight's episode of F/V.....
I'm recording it and will watch it later.
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, George.
-
Page five
-
At last!
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Hey, NW, are you guys behaving?
-
Hey, NW, are you guys behaving?
Totally normally...nothing weird going on. ::)
;)
-
Didja go see our waiter?
-
Didja go see our waiter?
No. I haven't been back, yet. Soon, though...expiring gift card will be the impetus.
-
I hope to hear about a hot date soon!
-
I hope to hear about a hot date soon!
From your lips....
-
Tom, are you all ready for the move?
-
Page five? Really?
-
Most unseemly.
-
Well, I'll change the topic now, I guess, even though we're at a low posting number.
-
Really low.
-
Low, really.
-
You know, I'm not all that far away from the major plateau.
-
Lady Jane, still healthy, no injuries? You may not have any falls, I has spoken!
-
I apparently didn't make the cut on the possible job. And that's OK.
I am glad you are ok and hope you found the process interesting.
-
Tom, are you all ready for the move?
The move has been postponed for another week.
-
We have arrived in Paris and are waiting for our luggage. We zipped through the passport line.
