My leg is not permitting me to stand on it too much today, so the Big Bathroom Clean may wait until another day this week.  I have other things I need to do today, like another vacuum again and pick up the kitty toys, befpre I settle in and work on the full scores for Act Two of How To Succeed . . .

So what's up for today?

I take the car in at noon for an oil change. Then I'll come home and load keyboard etc. into the car and take it up to the theater. We don't play till Tuesday evening, but I love the idea of having everything already in there ready to set up.

Jan, the Texas Hill Country is an area that Germans and Mexicans largely settled. Rolling hills, springs and little rivers, farm land and grazing land both. You'll find wineries throughout, especially in the Fredericksburg area. Where we're going is Ingram, Texas, near the small city of Kerrville. It had a resort that we could exchange a time share for.

Watching Albert Finney in one of the extras of Under the Volcano before watching the movie. What a great actor he could be. I haven't seen Tom Jones in a long time. I'm going to have to get my hands on that one soon.

I've been wrestling with the humidifier.  I don't have a plastic bag to toss out the wet filter since every one I have has been chewed full of holes by Stella, so that will sit in the kitchen sink until I go to market.  The water containers, after cleaning with water and Clorox, need to dry, and then I can scrub the base after it soaks in white vinegar.

I'm ready for a nap.  I should have caged Stella before I* began, since I'm afraid she's been drinking the dirty water in the humidifier base.  So far this morning, i've stepped on her while I was making breakfast and dragged her out of the refrigerator twice.  Now she's locked up for her own safety.

That’s amazing, DR Elmore. In all the years I’ve had cats, I never had a refrigerator cat, a washer cat, a dryer cat, a microwave cat, or any other such variety. We do have one escape artist cat, but those are much more common.

Sunday evening greetings!  Richard and I went to the nearby Presbyterian church this morning for their Bicentennial Celebration Service.  The congregation is 200 years old and they’ve been in the current building since 1950.  Many of our friends are members there and some others were visiting, too.

DR Jan, on our way to San Antonio we spent a couple of nights in charming Fredericksburg.  The town was lit up for Christmas adding to the charm.

Everything I've seen from this Oklahoma, including the photo of the director, makes me want to vomit on the ground.

I know it's a feat to do,  and I've loved the actor's work, But unless the sound of the Beetlejuice voice processes differently in the theater, I'm sure I couldn't stand hearing that sound, as impressive as it is,  for close to two hours.

The Prom is a fan favorite, but I'm just worn out from all the meta musical crap - too much, going of for too long - and Tootsie is filled with it, too.  And people still howl at the references - I guess it makes them feel hip and with it.  I hate to tell you what the first show that I know of did that - made fun of other musicals.  No one has ever been able to prove me wrong, BTW.

He's doing the same show I saw twice last year. It's more of a concert with amazing staging and choreography. And it's spectacular for what it is. It isn't really theater, but it is awfully theatrical.
