Well, you've read the notes, the notes turned good, and now it is time for you to post until the bad cows turned good come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SUPERSEDE!
-
First post after BK.
-
Great pictures in the notes, BK! Was the picture for The Anastasia Affaire in color in the booklet? I don't remember the color.
-
No, black and white in the booklet.
-
Everyone's so young!
-
The late Steve Barton...the original Raoul in ALW's The Phantom of the Opera! I forgot that he was on this.
-
Time for bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Great artifacts, once again, in the notes!
-
I’m especially struck by the Variety ad, and I am positive I saw that very presentation on ... SELECT-TV! Oh my, what a powerful name from the past. As with Theta Cable and Z Channel, this early L.A. cable history is fascinating to me.
But the main thing is, I clearly remember watching those (yes, including China Syndrome!) on the TV one of those evenings, and December 1979 proves the place of those memories. What I don’t know is how often and for how long these particular movies would have run on SELECT-TV. But that very date, Dec. 13, is totally possible.
-
Good morning, all!
-
After a week of intense Promenade work, I need a day to myself. That won't be today; it will be Friday.
-
I'm back to City Center today.
-
Yesterday was a productive work day, but completely frustrating in every other. The employer whom I invoiced nearly two weeks ago sent me a text: did you get your check?
-
I wrote back: your last email told me you would mail it on Monday (the day before yesterday). I won't see that check before Friday if I'm lucky, and it won't clear before nexy week.
-
While I find this situation ridiculous and frustrating, what bothers me more is why there's not a separate email account for business matters if this employer is so lackadaisical about checking emails. The fact that both the original invoicing and a follow-up email went unread is ridiculous for carrying on any business transactions.
-
So I've vented.
-
DR Ginny, how are you feeling today? Do you have a black eye?
-
DR vixmom, what are the soon-to-be newlyweds doing for a honeymoon?
-
Annabelle wants to patrol.
-
Healing vibes for DR GINNY - those FB photos were scary!
-
Continued find the tape vibes for MR BK.
Good news about the bank....even if it took another trip.....but not the kind that DR GINNY took.
-
City Center and Check vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
So far my AC has not turned on.....hopefully the man will come and see me.....if I can get it to come on....my house will be cool.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
Does the hairdresser on a film or tv show check the men's everyday hairstyles and okay them or give them a new style to change things up?
-
Great photos in the notes...again!
-
Wednesday morning greetings!
DR Ginny, how are you feeling today? Do you have a black eye?
DR Elmore, I’m up and about, but have made the strategic decision to drastically curtail my DAR activities. No 9am business sessions, only 2 of the 4 formal evening galas, and no Sunday morning events.
Yes, I have a spectacular shiner and there will be another photo this afternoon when I remove the dressing for my first wound maintenance. Brace yourself...
Thanks for asking :-*
-
Healing vibes for DR GINNY - those FB photos were scary!
Thanks, DR JRand, and DRs Jane and TCB for last nights vibes.
-
DR Ginny do you have a headache on top of the pain from the injury? The fact that you needed an ambulance was also scary.

I am sorry you will have to miss some of the events, especially after purchasing fancy new clothes.. The good news is you will make some of the them.
-
Interesting notes and fun photos today.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Trapped in a meeting with sound problems.
-
Time for an oil change.
-
We were just beset by a mini monsoon, about two inches of rain in 30 minutes. Standing water plus huge puddles at intersections.
-
We might be getting one of those this afternoon.
-
I am home from another day that would have been fun if the stress to finish up for tomorrow were not so intense. This was followed by three dreadfully crowded buses to get home.
-
DR Ginny, I'm sorry that your stumble is affecting your schedule. What caused your fall?
-
She tripped on the cobblestones leaving the hotel. Look at the photos on facebook.
-
DR Ginny do you have a headache on top of the pain from the injury? The fact that you needed an ambulance was also scary.
DR Jane, no headache to speak of, but my sinuses feel swollen. The ambulance was mostly because we’re from out of town and the navigator was bleeding profusely.

DR Jane, I will get to wear my formal duds and will do enough to get a feel for the DAR experience. We spent a couple of hours there today, visiting the fabulous library and wandering the building. We’ll taxi back there for tonight’s gala opening ceremony.

DR Elmore, it’s OK, we’re managing. That sidewalk came right up and smacked me in the face!

I'm in a fog of a haze of a daze. I didn't get to sleep until just after four. Woke up four hours later for reasons unknown, and then someone showed up at the door - Grant's step-brother, who was picking up his late mother's dresser - Grant forgot to tell me. So, there was that, and then I was up so I did a few things, finally getting back in bed at eleven and sleeping until one, so six hours of sleep. Got up, got ready, picked up a package, and decided to go to next door's Jack in the Box - haven't been there in a decade, I think. I got the two things I like there - breakfast jack and two of their weird taco things. Came home and just finished eating them - they were good. Listening to music, and in ten minutes it's out to the garage.
-
Jack in the Box: Two decades for me, and in the dusty recesses of my memory, their breakfast “Crescent Supreme” was the absolute living end.
I’m googling, and it looks like at some point they deemed their clientele grown up enough to call it a croissant. But it also doesn’t look quite like the same incredible thing.
-
Yes! Crescent Breakfasts!

I've seen the photos, and those are not cobblestones.

Anyone besides me watching the debates tonight and tomorrow?

Anyone besides me watching the debates tonight and tomorrow?
I'm watching the pre-show stuff on MSNBC right now. I have two screens here at work, so I can stream the TV show (through Comcast) on one screen and do my work on the other. ;)
-
I am, frankly, garaged out and it's a complete mess again because now it's loaded with empty boxes that I don't want to toss in case we should need them for anything. But I've now been through every box, at least I think I have, and no tapes. Very disturbing.
-
Good afternoon.
-
The missing tapes can't be the ones I brought you. Those were way too big to lose!
-
There is a steam pipe running through my bathroom floor to ceiling for heat. Because the metal pipe can scald, there's been a protective corrugated paper/cardboard tube covering it for the first six feet since I moved in 39 years ago. While I was taking my bath tonight, I watched Stella climb it like a tree. Now I know why all the towels were on the floor when I came in today.
I'm worried at the moment because I think she's eating the paint she's peeling off this tube.

Mostly good news. Yes, I expected the bleeding part & was surprised not to see evidence of it in the photos.

Excellent. Have fun this evening. I look forward to the photos.

Kind of. I just responded quickly which is why I said to look at the photo. Paving stones, bricks?

First part was funny, not so much the possibility she is eating the paint.

Have to replace the fill valves on both toilets.
-
How did that happen?
-
Let’s move on...
-
Three!
-
Watching a very sexy scene of Juliette Binoche and stranger dancing to At Last
-
Posts deleted. ::)
;)
-
First toilet done.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
How did that happen?
Odd they should both fail at the same time.
-
DR Ginny, so sorry to hear about your nasty fall! What an unpleasant surprise! I think it's good you called an ambulance--DC traffic can really gridlock and you needed to have it looked at quickly.
Vibes for a rapid recovery!
-

Odd they should both fail at the same time.
Something in the water clogging both?
-
Today was Hair Day. First, a stop at the supermarket, then to the hairdresser, then to my favorite food store. No croissants today, but I bought more of the vegan ice cream bars I like so much. I must use some discipline or I won't be able to fit into my jeans.
-
Glad to hear that John G's dad is doing well. Vibes for a continued recovery.
-
I shall watch the debates on YouTube.
-
If I have any news, I can't think what it is.
TTFN.
-
Second toilet done.
-
Let the flushing begin.
-
Watching the extras on Let the Sunshine In. Really interesting movie. Kind of a combination of An Unmarried Woman and Looking for Mr. Goodbar without the sad endings.
-
Page three? Really?
-
I need to see more of Claire Denis's films.
-
Really. Page 3.
-
Do you get my meaning?
-
Listening to some majorly great concertos by a Finnish composer called Einojuhani Rautavaara. His symphonies were mostly excellent, but every one of these concertos is fantastic.
-
Getting ready to start Hal Ashby's first film, The Landlord.
-
It is a work of its time.
-
Well, I guess I should leave work. ::)
-
Time to head home and watch the rest of tonight's debate. I set my DVR to separately record the two-hour pre-show, then the actual two-hour debate, then the one (I think)-hour post show on MSNBC.
-
Sometimes when I record multiple shows on the same channel like that, they don't always get recorded, especially when I'm actually watching the shows. If the power on the DVR was off when the recordings start, usually it'll record the multiple shows on the same channel, but I don't think it always work. :-\ I'll find out soon enough.
Be back later.
-
The storm arrived later than expected which is fine with us.
-
A bolt of lightening caught our attention.
-
My friend and her daughter arrived from Michigan last night
-
We've been friends for 48 years
-
It was the first time we were actually together for 4 years
-
We took them to a Disney Springs
-
We played a virtual reality Star Wars game
-
Then we had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe in their Lava Lounge which was an outdoor seating area on the water, very pretty
-
We could see the Maguc Kingdom fireworks from our table
-
Today we four spent the day at Universal
-
I need new feet
-
It is nice you could spend quality time before the wedding.

The post debate show was two hours, and my DVR recorded it all. Whew!
-
I may not watch it all, but I have it if I want to.
-
A bolt of lightening caught our attention.
:o
-
Gratuitous Post #100!!
-
We've been friends for 48 years
Nice.
-
Finished with my viewing. Listened to some Adriana reading - she sends me a few minutes as she gets to each new character. They're all very good, but I'm going to send her a one-page recording of me reading one of the magicians because that one is very specific in terms of how he has to sound. It's trick and I think once she hears me do it she'll get it easily, as she did with Patrick Bronstein.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
I fell ssleep reading. My tablet had fallen on my face and the pressure woke me up.
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, George.
-
Page 4? Seriously?
-
I spent most of the day in bed.
-
Feeling a little better this evening.
-
Vixmom, are the in-laws not in town yet?
-
Are they planning on attending the wedding?
-
Well, of course they are, they didn’t pay for any of it.
-
I watched the debate this evening.
-
I was surprised at who impressed me, and who didn’t.
-
I thought our governor held his own, although he wasn’t allowed to talk very much.
-
I found it a little unfair at how much time was given the current poll leaders; and how some of the lesser known candidates were ignored.
-
I would be interested in seeing a breakdown on how much time each candidate received.
-
I would bet that Elizabeth Warren was very near the top.
-
One more post (you’re up George).
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I would bet that Elizabeth Warren was very near the top.
I think she was.
-
I watched the debate this evening.
So did, I. I'm now I was watching the post-debate analysis, but I switched to Stephen Colbert, whose show has just started, and his show tonight and tomorrow are broadcast live after the debates.
-
Hi, Lovies! How are my Washingtonians today? Tom, are you all unpacked and settled? How are you feeling now? How was work, George?
-
Oh hell, no. I am not feeling too well this week.
-
Hi, Lovies! How are my Washingtonians today? Tom, are you all unpacked and settled? How are you feeling now? How was work, George?
Hi, jan. Work was nice and quiet...nothing exciting happened, as usual. ;)
-
Tom, what are you doing to get better, anything?
-
So, George, the taxi dancing isn't exciting enough for you? Maybe you should start on the pole?
-
Hanging upside down might be interesting.
-
Tom, what are you doing to get better, anything?
Taking cold and flu medicine, drinking lots of liquids, and sleeping.
-
Warm salt water gargles yet?
-
I need a big bowl of hot and sour soup.
-
Do you have someone to get you some?
-
Does anyplace deliver?
-
Feeling a little better this evening.
Good. Feel much better tomorrow!
-
I’ll probably go get some tomorrow.
-
So, George, the taxi dancing isn't exciting enough for you? Maybe you should start on the pole?
I think that that would be toooooo far out of my comfort zone.
;)
-
Still uninjured, Lady Jane?
-
Good night, folks.
