Well, you've read the notes, the notes rocked and rolled, and now it is time for you to post until the rocking and rolling cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PARADISIACAL!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
And me in the shower.
-
First post after Dino at the piano.
-
Kimmel, do you have more pictures from you time at LACC?
-
George, did you go to the movie yesterday? Did you like it?
-
Today is going to be a day. I'm going to work for only four hours, then I'm going to Seattle to visit my friend David and we're going to a Seattle Mariners baseball game. Tonight is their special Pride night! (https://www.mlb.com/mariners/tickets/specials/pride)
-
George, did you go to the movie yesterday? Did you like it?
Yes, both my sister and I really liked it. It's long, but they ended the series well.
-
Today is going to vd a say.

Spoo! Post fixed! ;)

I'm glad you fixed that. I thought you were having a stroke!

Tom, is Nicky doing better?
-
Tom, is Nicky doing better?
He came out and ate a couple of cookies, but then he went back under the bed.
-
He thinks I should be able to turn off the noise.
-
George, do you like baseball?
-
Is David working at the game?
-
George, do you like baseball?
Not specifically, but it's fun to go...especially when the tickets are free.

True.
-
Is David working at the game?
Not today. He's working either tomorrow or Sunday, I forget which.

After the northridge quake, one of my cats hid under the guest room be for a week. I had to put all of her necessaries in there for her while trying to coax her out each evening. the other cat disappeared for several days. I drove the neighborhood looking for her, went to the animal shelter to see if she was there, called and called and put out food. Just when I was about to give up, I found here in the rafters of the garage. Don't know long she'd been there but she was fine.

I used to go to several games every season, but the handicap makes it tough to get seating.

That's too bad.
-
Well, my brothers, I will say good night. Cuddles!
-
That reminds me of former DR Mike Barnum. He thought he had lost his cat forever, but it actually got locked in a neighbor’s garage.

Good night, jan.

Good night, jan.

Tonight Tracy and I are going back to see THE PRODUCERS at Lakewood. I probably won’t be home before midnight.
-
So, I will check in some time this afternoon.
-
This is the last weekend for THE PRODUCERS, George.
-
Oh! I guess George went to bed, too.
-
Well, goodnight, TCB.
-
You too, Tom.
-

I definitely won't be home before midnight. But I can't stay out all night because I need to go into work for a few hours on Saturday.
-
This is the last weekend for THE PRODUCERS, George.
I saw that. I might be able to go on Sunday, but we'll see.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Well, I'm off to bed, then to work, then to Seattle.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’m off to work in a little. It’s likely to be very empty.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It’s official: I feel like I’ve had a week-long Fourth of July.
-
I’ll check out that CITIZEN X movie sometime soon. Definitely sounds right up my alley. I’m usually fascinated with such things placed in Russia. Of course I always loved the Cold War era stuff, which is where it began.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I stayed up way too late, and I am quite groggy this morning. The cats have been quite good today, which totally surprises me.
-
I must see CITIZEN X! Stephen Rea is a close personal friend. When we recorded Dearest Enemy, we had a week where we weren't sure he could make it because of a round of bad health. When he made it to one of the last sessions, he was moving cautiously and he may have been in pain, but he said nothing about it. He was completely professional and prepared, kind and patient to everyone, absolutely wonderful.
-
I think I may go to today's sitzprobe for Promenade. I'll leave here around 10:15.
-
George I am glad you did a spoiler on the credits otherwise we might have missed them. Keith will definately sit through them now.
-
DR TCB I think you need to see your step-daughter more often. It sou ded like a fun impromptu meeting.

:( Thank goodness you found her safe.

Much longer and his cat would have died in there.

I got up and tuned in my television to watch The Partridge Family....but it wasn't on....I was most upset that the schedule was changed!
Then I realized that today is Friday NOT Saturday - so all is well.
-
Lots of fireworks last night - but they ended before 11 p.m.
The man across the street was setting off some kind of sparkling things in the middle of the street until about midnight, but they didn't make any noise except a few sizzling sounds.
-
It does seem like Saturday.
-
I forgot about a memorable July 4 I had.....my fellow workers from the Indiana Dept. Of Labor were in Washington D.C. for the week.
On the evening of July 3, my friend Judy and I were just walking around - D.C. downtown is pretty dead after dark....
We were sitting on a bench and saw then President Bill Clinton drive by in his limo....the light was on in the back and he was eating a sandwich.
Then we walked around and heard a lot of noise. On investigating, we found where they were rehearsing the orchestra for the July 4 show....so we sat down and watched that for about an hour. Most entertaining. No one asked to leave....so we stayed and listened to the whole thing.
-
DR JANE I realized that said cat did not actually have its tail in the garbage disposal.....but it was a funny saying....
Not unlike a cat in a record player.....the story I have told here before - which is sadly true.
-
Saturday? It’s a Monday to me. Unequivocally. I’ve had to keep reminding myself all morning.

Good one, DR Jrand68. My one presidential sighting was seeing Reagan get off Marine One (is that the official designation of the helicopter?) at Santa Monica Airport on a day I just happened to land there to take a break and have a look around.
-
I recall seeing CITIZEN X back when it first aired.
Good movie.

LOL I did know that, just wanted to be sure others did 😊
-
DR Jrand I enjoyed your DC story.
-
We can see Portland fireworks from our place. I expect the 3rd floor condos have a decent view while ours isn't too exciting. I like to watch for a little bit. Looking out the window I spent more time watching the grass, trees, & plants blowing in the wind. We had such a calm day and I was surprised at the contrast. It was very windy out there.
-
It does seem like Saturday.
Not if you’re working, it doesn’t. It feels like Monday.
-
Very true and I am now back into the Friday mentality.
-
George I am glad you did a spoiler on the credits otherwise we might have missed them. Keith will definately sit through them now.
I had heard that there wasn't going to be a regular after-the-credit scene for Avengers: Endgame because it really ended a lot of storylines. Margo and I probably would've stayed to the end anyway, because we do that.

Tumwater has a fireworks ban, but the ban includes sparklers! What's that all about? :-\
-
It does seem like Saturday.
Not to me. I'm at work, although, I will be going into work tomorrow for a few hours to make up the time I'm using today to go to Seattle...so it's actually like an almost normal Thursday to me. ::)
;)

That's pretty cool, Jrand!

I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
Last night, I missed the first 15 minutes or so of PBS's A Capitol Fourth, but I found that the whole show is available to watch on YouTube here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ow4Maz8Xh4 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ow4Maz8Xh4)
-
Well, I'm off to the ball park! It'll be a long night.
Be back later...much later!
-
Up from a nap. I had planned on going to visit a friend tonight who's got cancer. Found out that her blood pressure is really low and they had to go to the hospital for a short stay. Will try to see her tomorrow.
-
Vibes it truly is a short visit.
-
It's still Friday.
-
Hello from London!
-
The vocal work on Promenade is for the most part really glorious. I hope it goes well.
-
Thanks for the travel vibes. The flight was uneventful and on time.
-
Congrats to DR Jane and DH Keith!
-
Thanks for making me laugh, TCB, about Barbra singing for you!
-
Watching a weird German attempt to be Quentin Tarnatino and Charlie Kaufman. It's called Snowflake and it's, well, flaky.
-
It's still Friday.
And it still feels like a Monday, though I’m coming around to believing it’s Friday.
-
Back from picking up tape transfers - all watched. The four Playboy bits are fascinating and a couple are more than a little not PC, but I don't care about PC. The little preludes to the roll-in bits are pretty funny, and the roll-in bits are variable.
The Dinah tape had an additional fifteen minutes or more of stuff that wasn't on the reel I posted previously. It includes my I Write the Songs performance and two or three other musical numbers, a bit more of Dinah, glimpses of guest stars - Phyllis Diller and Paul Williams. Since we never interacted with the guests we never met them. I forgot that Lola Falana's brother joined the show for the last two episodes - you see him in a couple of things and also the other cast member who joined at that time, DeeDee Rescher. I had another long sketch with Leland Palmer - not too funny, bad writing - we're fine - and she's my dance partner in a couple of clips.
-
Then I watched my cut of The Creature Wasn't Nice. It's so much better than the version the producers did and which has been all that was available. That said, I can see exactly what I should have done back then and it would have really helped - has to do with music. So, I'm going to give this to my editor, Marshall Harvey, and I think with his help I'm going to add some music to certain scenes, then if I'm going to release this I'd have to go to Fotokem to do some clean-up work - it's never going to look great - it was transferred in early 1982 to 3/4" tape with that technology. But I think we can help it a bit. IF I decide to all that work, I may have to do a small Indiegogo to fund that work.
-
Picked up a couple of packages and got Subway for food.
-
Not sure what I wanted to watch tonight. So, I popped in the original State Fair.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
It's still Friday.
And it still feels like a Monday, though I’m coming around to believing it’s Friday.
Same here, only getting adjusted by what's on TV. :). I'm hoping I'll be reoriented properly by Sunday!
-
Congrats DR Jane.
My back is a lot better. But it still does not feel great to sit at my computer. So I am only seeing your news now.
-
I think we're going to do the work on The Creature - just talked to my editor and he's got two months to play, so why not?
-
Excellent.
I was wondering if the original film elements are gone or lost or otherwise impossible to acquire.
So happy you’re doing this, regardless.
-
In other news, two days ago (these came to me within twenty minutes of each other), my July got booked with playing a two-week run of THE WIZARD OF OZ (RSC) at one jernt, and subbing in the last two performances of a four-week run of PIPPIN (revival version) at another. The latter is the much more demanding challenge, for a few reasons, and I’m very glad to have three weeks to prepare. I’m sitting in to watch it tomorrow evening and will do so again closer to my own dates.
-
In the midst of those, my director friend and I have our own auditions for CABARET (1998 version) which I’m music directing at one of our 100-seat theaters in the fall.
-
And I absolutely have to find a few days in which to make my visit to beautiful SW Ohio.
-
Hello from London!
Hello. We will be there in September.
-
Thanks for the travel vibes. The flight was uneventful and on time.
Perfect.
-
Congrats to DR Jane and DH Keith!
Thank you :)
-
Well, I'm off to the ball park! It'll be a long night.
Be back later...much later!
Well, not so much later. We are here!
-

Sounds great.
-
Not sure what I wanted to watch tonight. So, I popped in the original State Fair.
Spoiler:
I prefer the original story though there are parts of the remake I like very much, especially Darren & Ewell.
In the original it makes sense that he did not stay with the actress while in the remake I did not understand why Wayne didn't end up with Emily.
-
Vibes it truly is a short visit.
~~~Ditto!!~~~
-
Congrats DR Jane.
My back is a lot better. But it still does not feel great to sit at my computer. So I am only seeing your news now.
Thank you and I am sorry your back continues to be an issue. Have you had it checked?
-
Here's looking directly across the other way:
-
Nice view of the park. I haven't been to our minor league team this year. That's always fun.
-
I enjoyed it. Cliches and all.
-
When I went to the grocery today, there were no pie sheets. First, no blueberries at Costco. Now, this.
I just made pie crust dough and refrigerated it for use tomorrow or Sunday. I really don't like to do that, even in the food processor.
-
8:18. Another earthquake and this one wasn't so rolling. This one was a shaker - I did my usual "Stop it!" but it didn't stop for about twenty-five seconds. I thought the TV was going to fall so I held onto it, but everything else seems fine now.
-
Holy
sh moley!
-
Bruce, Jeanne, & Jan how are you after the quake?
Answer to my question.
-
It's fine, but his one was scary. Of course, the initial report was 7.1 within fifteen SECONDS of it happening. That was not accurate, however, and whoever is releasing those early figures should be fired. 6.9 - just downgraded. But that's much stronger than yesterday's. I actually have a headache now.
-
And these stupid people who live to the south of me were outside laughing it up with the kids - they thought it was real funny. I had to bite my tongue to stop from using the M word (MORON).
I agree that this one was scary. It seemed rather long to me, too. The building I live in was retrofitted for earthquake safety just six (?) months ago, and yet there was quite a bit of swaying. I'm on the second floor.
-
Many years ago after the Northridge quake a friend who hadn't grown up here was quite spooked. She'd sleep with a pair of jeans, shoes, and a top next to her bed. That actually makes a lot of sense--you don't want to be without clothes! I may just do something like that for a few days in case of aftershocks.
-
Wow! So glad you guys are doing OK after that.
-
Yes. Calm vibes for all in LA and environs.
-
Watching the original cut of Red River. Have never seen this movie. Interesting that everyone cites The Searchers as having Wayne in an unsympathetic role. He's every bit as unlikable in this one, too, though his character seems to be softened up somewhat toward the end.
-
More people on facebook reported filling dizzy & nauseous.
-
Most people on Facebook live for melodrama. There have been two horrendous earthquakes in my lifetime - early 70s and early 90s - THOSE were earthquakes, and they caused much harm and devastation, as you know. When I read posts on Facebook that say, "My pool water was sloshing!" I just want to, well, you know...
-
Many people are saying their going to stock up on supplies. Good luck at the markets tomorrow, because hysteria fuels hysteria. There will be no batteries, flashlights, and especially water. Mark my words.
-
What is this page five malarkey?
-
A few peoplw said thay got dressed after this last "event".
What, they were sitting around in the nude? :)
-
I am not sitting around in the nude.
-
I am listening to a set of New York Philharmonic performances mostly radio broadcasts from the 40s and early 50s.
-
How can we still be on page five?
-
Page five is unseemly.
-
Page five is endless.
-
What a revoltin' development this is.
-
How can page five just go on and on with no end in sight. Gaslighting?
-
Thank God you weren't nude. I don't think anyone wants that.
-
whole lotta shakin' goin on.
-
Bit scary here but everything is okay.
-
😊
-
Thank God you weren't nude. I don't think anyone wants that.
Even I don't want that.
-
Um, someone is doing some gaslighting here - how can we still be on page five?
-
Where are bad boys TCB and George.
-
Most unseemly.
-
Okay, this has entered stupid territory. I myself have made enough posts on this page for two pages.
-
And yet, here we are.
-
This is unseemly.
-
I'm gonna keep going.
-
You see?
-
Ridiculous. Page six at long last.
