Well, you've read the notes, the notes went without an earthquake, and now it is time for you to post until the no earthquake cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ANSA!
-
First post after BK.
-
This afternoon, I'm going to see Spider-Man: Far From Home. This evening, I also might go to see one the three different local outdoor Shakespeare productions that are going on in town. I have the list, so I'll check them out and decide later.
-
But first, it's time for sleep.
Have a good day, all!

I am looking forward to your report.

Without having seen 1, 2, or 3 we are seeing Toy Story 4 today. I have no idea what these are about. I am not sure why Keith accepted the invite since he is the reason we have missed the first 3.
-
I was really hoping to sleep last night. I woke up every couple of hlurs until 4:30 and then stayed awake.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all.

Last night's PIPPIN opening sounded pretty damned great. We can see virtually nothing (it's in the round and we're off in a corner facing in the wrong direction), but more than half the cast is equity and the musicians are top notch. I've got my work over the next three weeks cut out for me, but it shall be done.
This town has the money to throw at this stuff, and they do it well.

A sliver of photographic evidence:
-
And now, shortly, I'm off to a day of what just might be a sliver of HELL: a band reading followed by sitzprobe for THE WIZARD OF OZ, where the band consists of (count ‘em) four: the piano-conductor, little ol' me, bass, and drums. And the score is a bear. Pray for that baby.

Good morning, all!

The heat has rendered Annabelle and Thatch to lethargy, but nothing affects the invulnerable and curious Stella, who finished her destruction of the bathroom and kitchen to help me make the bed, climb up my back as I read my emails, and be a pest to Annabelle, who prefers the cool porcelain of the bathyub to Stella's perpetual pounces.
-
If I do not have to leave the apartment today, that would be excellent. I plan to pull books at liesure most of the day.
-
As Annabelle and I headed out for patrol, Stella slipped past us. I finally caught her on the first floor, and carried her back to the apartment. Annabelle got as far as the landing between 2 and 3, and lay there. As soon as Stella was back inside, I picked Missy up and carried her back into the apartment. That's today's exercise.
-
Back from church and dance practice. The back pain isn't completely gone, but I did manage a decent hour of hip exercise.
-
An now it's time for a nap.
-
Martin Charnin has died. I'm listening to Hot Spot in his memory. Not a great show but an occasional pleasure.
-
Great news about the U.S. women's soccer team.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
Page one? Really?
-
It is too goddamned hot today. My electricity bill has gone up $70 between May and June, and it will get worse the more I run the AC, so I'm trying to keep it to a minimum.
-
That is a big jump.
-
That's about the bounce mine takes every summer. Winter is generally about half as much of a jump.
-
Up from a nap. Wish I were taking another one.
-
I'm really sluggish. I'll blame the heat and staying up too late last night.
-
Where is everyone today?
-
Are y'all having a party without me?
-
Let's move on ...
-
Two!
-
In finally found something I bought from Costco that I don't think I'll try again: spicy pickled Brussels sprouts.
-
I'm sure many of you would never have contemplated buying them in the first place.
-
NEVER!
-
We are off to see TOY STORY 4. I hope we are not bored.
-
Page two? Really?
-
Back from a fun lunch with Marshall Harvey at the Coral Cafe, which was jammed - only on Sundays. I had the chicken fried steak, which was great, and a couple of bites of mashed potato.
-
Then I wrote the second set of liner notes and got that off, so that's all good.
-
I'm watching IMITATION OF LIFE - Laura Meredith is about to become a BIG star!
-

I decided not to see the Shakespeare tonight. I want some TV watching time. Both Margo and I really liked Spider-Man. There were a couple of twists in the movie that were VERY surprising to me! Thoroughly enjoyable, if you're a fan of the Marvel movies.

I just read about that. :(
-
NEVER!
DITTO!!
-
After the movie, Margo and I had lunch at The Rock Wood Fired Pizza (https://www.therockwfp.com/). I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and onion rings. They were good, but it was too much, even when I only ate half the wrap. I did bring it home for later...much later. ;)

Good to hear.
-
Toy Story was fun even though we hadn't seen the first three movies. I felt like I needed a couple of children on my lap-lol. The 20 minutes of previews for children's movies were torture.

DITTO!!
:D

If you ever want to come here for pizza there is one close to us. If you came this far we would probably suggest Beaches.
-
Just before I left to go to the movie, I stopped at my sister's to help her move her big heavy bed away from the wall so that she could paint her bedroom.
-
I now need to go back and help move her bed back against the wall. So much for uninterruped TV watching. ::)
;)
-
Watching Niagara with Marilyn and, well, something that's all wet.
-
Got Getz/Gilberto '76 from the library today. Need to do some listening later.
-
It's time to round up some more posts here.
-
Kritzerland has its share of Martin Charnin-related CDs.
-
He wrote Feathertop with Mary Rodgers. And produced Cole Porter in Paris on the same disc.
-
And he directed the TV Dames at Sea.
-
The pie tasted good tonight. Too much dough -- and not enough salt in it. But that was easy to ignore.
-
Marilyn is up to no good in this movie.
-
But whoever put her wardrobe together knew what they were doing.
-
Joseph Cotton describes one dress as so low-cut you could see her knees.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Three!
-
Page 3? Really?
-
Really.
-
Hello, 1 guest!
-
What is your favorite Marilyn movie?
-
I don't think I've ever seen Bus Stop all the way through.
-
I guess I drove our 1 guest away.
-
Maybe they're not a Marilyn fan.
-
Marilyn is trying to be incognito. So, she's wearing a black-and-white form-fitting suit, cut down to her knees with her hair looking like perfection in a wind tunnel.
-
Some disguise.
-
Oh yeah, she had bright, can't-turn-your-eyes-away red lipstick on, too.
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, Laura. Where did you head off to?
-
It's a day filled with things related to death. In addition to the passing of celebrities, including Martin Charnin and Joao Gilberto, I learned that my friend Cecil's father, Monroe, died somewhat unexpectedly today. Pam and Cecil called me earlier in the day to say they were going to see Monroe because he was having some minor problems. He lived several hours away, so they much not have been too worried. They took him to the hospital and the doctors wanted to perform a minor surgery. But he died during the middle of it.
-
Monroe was a major fan of ice cream. He often made a full meal out of it. And it was the last food he ate.
-
Good way to go.
-
Monroe's death meant that Pam and Cecil will be canceling the trip to Vancouver they were supposed to take on Tuesday. I was even supposed to drive them to the airport.
-
Now listening to Joao Gilberto, Astrud Gilberto, Stan Getz and Antonio Carlos Jobim perform some of their biggest hits life.
-
Now up is one of my favorites, Corcovado:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-YnyZG8fNU
-
Also on this collection is It Might As Well Be Spring. I don't think I've heard their version of it before.
-
This is all I have in me.
-
late for bed.
-
Good night, all.
-

-
I don't think I've ever seen Bus Stop all the way through.
That surprises me.
-
I haven't seen it in years. I do recall it was very good.
I also liked Monroe in How to Marry a Millionaire.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Wrote the blurb for the new releases and got all that ready to announce. They'll go live around noon, but I'll announce in the notes.
-
What the HELL is this page three malarky?
-
Did I miss the Toy Story report?
-
Did I miss page four?
-
Page four? Really?
-
Listening to music.
-
This was hardly a ME day, I must say and so I did say.

That's so sad, John. My condolences to Cecil and his family.

Very nice.
-
I'm watching Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
-
I watched one episode (episode #2), and now am watching a second episode (episode #3).
-
Wrote the blurb for the new releases and got all that ready to announce. They'll go live around noon, but I'll announce in the notes.
Looking forward to finding out what they are!
-
Well, since we're here...
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
Good evening.
-
Sorry.
-
I fell asleep.
-
I didn’t want to do that.
-
Hi, George.
-
I had another night where I. couldn’t fall asleep.
-
Oh well.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
At least I was awake for the World Cup.
-
I do try to enjoy soccer.
-
I do try to enjoy soccer.
Try?
-
90% of the world can’t be wrong.
-
But I really find it boring.
-
Back in the Seventies I use to go with my friends to the games in Seattle.
-
I enjoyed those, but we indulged in home-made brownies which made the games much more exciting.
-
At least, I think they did.
-
I stayed awake for the World Cup.
-
With only one cup of coffee.
-
That was my day.
-
Page 5
-
At least we made it to page 5.
-
But barely.
-
Has George left without helping?
-
I hope not.
-
It looks like everyone left today without posting.
-
John, I am sorry about your friend’s father.
-
TOY STORY 4 without seeing one thru three?
-
That is a brave decision!
-
But I really find it boring.
Ahh...I enjoy it, but you're not alone, I'm sure.
-
Or a dumb one.
-
Has George left without helping?
Nope.
-
A lot of reviews have not been kind to #4.
-
I helped!
-
A lot of reviews have not been kind to #4.
I haven't seen the third, but at least I've seen the first two.
-
Page five? Really?
-
REALLY?
-
I gotta tell you.
