Well, you've read the notes, the notes duked it out, and now it is time for you to post until the duking it out cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FRIVOLITY!
-
Listening to Lyn Murray's score to Wives and Lovers, which, interestingly, does not include the Bacharach and David inspired by song.

Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
It's a cruisin' Saturday mornin'. Everyone (else) must be out galavanting about.
-
But now, sleep time.
Have a good day, all!
-
T.O.D.
My 2 favorite Hitchcock movies:
NORTH BY NORTHWEST
THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (remake).
-
Good morning, all!
-
98 degrees F today, and I am not sure that F stands for Fahrenheit. I plan to park my butt between a fan and the AC and move as little as possible.
-
I think the heat has slowed the cats down as well. Thatch says thanks again for the birthday wishes.
-
Good morning!

DC Area Weather Report: 98 degrees today, 100 tomorrow.
-
Good morning to all

TOD
The one I have seen the most is Rebecca
-
Hot!
Closing night - which is an event longed for and at last here.
Nice audience last night - an almost full house....but I won't miss some of these folks....I won't have to see them after tonight's strike....except those few who are auditioning for my show - and I won't have to see them AFTER auditions. HA!
-
TOD:
The same as DR DRUXY....
North By Northwest
The Man Who Knew Too Much (remake)
and I will add:
PSYCHO - which is probably the one I have seen most.
-
George - thanks for your comment last night!
-
Psycho
North by Northwest
The Trouble With Harry
Family Plot
Frenzy
-
Patrol is over. I need to make the bed and vacuum up some dry cat food that Stella's rambunctious play with Thatch has scattered.
-
Good morning, all.

It sounds like a good plan.

Finding all of the missing item vibes for DR TCB!
-
You are welcome George.

I doubt Craig's big old dog will be going out much. I don't much like the idea of Craig carrying the dog on the stairs in this heat.

TOD

One of my favorites.

DR Jrand have a good last show.
-
Hitchcock could very well be the director whose output I’ve seen more than anyone else’s. Impossible to say, of course, but the thought did occur to me.
I’d also have to name too many favorites for it to be meaningful, so let’s just say the 1950-1963 streak closely followed by the mid-1930s through early 1940s streak. And that’s a fair amount of streaking.
Least favorites: Under Capricorn and Mr. and Mrs. Smith come to mind, and I think there are a few other such valiant but failed efforts scattered about.
-
Closing night vibes for DR Jrand68.
-
Two shows today, and our closing one is tomorrow.
We’re being taken somewhere for dinner in between so I’m not back home till late tonight.
-
I don't recall watching the original THE MAN WHO KNEW TO MUCH. I have watched the remake and list it as one of my favorite Hitchcock films.
-
DC Area Weather Report: 98 degrees today, 100 tomorrow.
Mid-90s up here (but with a wicked “heat index”), then a significant dropoff on Monday which should be pretty damned lovely.
-
And with that I must take my leave. Have a great Saturday, everyone.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Nine hours of sleep. Off soon to deal with the heat.
-
TOD:
Strangers on a Train
The 39 Steps
Frenzy
Notorious
Vertigo
I think I have seen Rebecca or To Catch a Thief more than any others.
-
I’ve also seen The Lady Vanishes a lot. Great fun.
-
It will be warming up here to 83 degrees.
-
Stella and Thatch have discovered where I keep Da Bird, so whenever my back is turned, they try to steal it.
-
;D

I did a new mix of the "Lady Marmalade" parody about the Brooklyn theater party folks going to see "Moulin Rouge."

I saw a reminder on FB that leaving bottled water in the car can start a fire. I always keep mine in the shade.

TOD:
Strangers on a Train
Vertigo
I will add these to the list of favorites.
-
I forgot to mention MARNIE as a favorite.

My most watched film is THE BIRDS.

My most watched film is THE BIRDS.
And remember from the ODD COUPLE "Password" episode, everyone knows THE BIRDS is a play by Aristophanes. :)

I didn't know this. Thanks for posting that, Jane.
-
I'm up, I'm up - just about eight hours of sleep.
-
Thanks, everyone....strike follows, but I may just wander a bit....and make sure I get all of my personal props before they disappear.....
The stage builder is usually throwing stuff around before the audience even leaves the theater.....certainly before we get a chance to get out of costume or get our microphones off.....
-
Back from a dance lesson, which was really tiring in this heat. It wasn't hot in the studio, but somehow my body could feel it.
-
I think I need a nap.

I doubt it happens very often or it would be major news.

DR Jrand I hope you found all of your personal belongings.

Do you drink extra water in this heat?
-
Hello, everyone.

TOD:
THE LADY VANISHES and 39 STEPS used to be my favorites, but now there are others that I like better--just can't say which. It's difficult to pick favorites with Hitchcock because so many were so good.

I would say that the mid-90s are wicked even without a heat index.

Water in plastic bottles should be kept out of the sun also because plastic is a petroleum product and heat causes it to outgas even more.
-
The weather here remains nice and not too hot, but the pollen is getting me. Ugh! At least it's not both.
-
Bruce, is the pollen bothering you?
-
Enjoy your weekend, everyone.
TTFN.

Saturday afternoon greetings!
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
I have attended two memorial services today. This morning’s was for 91-year-old Dot and this afternoon for 86-year-old Charles. Both long lives that were well-celebrated, but I’m a bit drained.
Of course, 92 degrees with a heat index of 102 might have something to do with that, too :P
-
Bruce, is the pollen bothering you?
It's bothering me and I ain't even in California.

John G, I think there's more pollen in your area than here. I'm not surprised it's bothering you. Vibes for some major relief!

Yes, even one can be.

I did the laundry and some cleaning, but I'm not doing a lot today.

I read a frightening article in the NYT about safe deposit boxes not being safe. When a bank is sold to another bank the boxes are often removed and items are later missing. The bank isn't liable for much--only $500 in some cases. Can't you even trust banks anymore? (I know the answer to that.)
-
This doesn't sound legal.
-
Tonight we are going to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. As this is a cartoon we hadn't planned to watch it. The ratings are excellent & Bryan told us to see it.

Wow, the horror stories https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2017/05/06/customers-complain-bofa-is-drilling-safe-deposit-boxes-and-losing-valuables/

Thank you, Jeanne. I think I'll be OK in a few days when the heat breaks. I also think I'm due to a tune up from the acupuncturist. I'm supposed to see him quarterly. Well, we're in the third quarter.
-
Having leftover steak for dinner, which I heated up with the leftover fried rice. Very comforting as I try to do anything but write.
-
I actually got about 200 words written. It's not a lot, but it's a start.
-
Will you meet your deadline?
-
Should I have said vibes you meet your deadline ;)
-
Listening to some Andre Previn soundtracks while I work. Am on Elmer Gantry right now.
-
Off to dance.
-
Have fun.

I think there's an HHW BK rule: It's always better to do two posts rather than one
about anything.
-
True, however, this time it was an afterthought ;D
-
Jeanne, yes, allergy problems today.
-
The work session was, well, frustrating and irritating. We heard a lot of songs that sounded like they were thrown together quickly, which they were. I said the next thing that has to happen is we need mp3s of the composer playing and singing, because the pianist today was playing off lead-sheets that were nothing but confusing, with no tempo markings, no idea as to what the feel should be. A couple of weeks ago, one of the authors asked me to get to work and write stuff we don't have - I've done two songs now - music only for me, to someone else's lyrics and though I hate to say it (I do, really) they're really the only two songs that have actual form and the ability to engage the listener in terms of music comfort, which is very important in musical theater. I'm not sure where we go from here, but mp3s will tell us that.
-
Oh no.

And then I got an e-mail that AT&T took the monthly payment via Auto Pay and took the amount they took last month. As you may recall, I had my bill adjusted down and was promised that would take effect for this payment AND that I'd be credited back the difference for last month's. Well, I thought my head was going to explode. I called them, the lady cancelled the payment instantly, and finally, after thirty minutes found out why I was charged the same - apparently the idiot who did the stuff last month, did something wrong and it was stalled in the system - she put it through and there won't be additional issues. And gave me the credit for June. Meanwhile, PayPal has my money and I don't. So, I called them and they've become completely unbearable about this stuff - they said they could see the payment had been cancelled but that the authorization was still pending and we had to wait until that fell off, which happens in five days. Well, that's theft of my money - they see it's cancelled so I should be credited back. Then I was told to wait for a supervisor, who never showed up, then I called back and that guy said he couldn't see that it had been cancelled. I'd already been told to call AT&T and have them remove the authorization code. They told me they just charge and they'd cancelled and given me that confirmation number. PayPal wanted them to fax something and holding cell phone and landline together they conversed - to no end. So, I now have to wait until Thursday for my money to show up again. It's outrageous and I truly believe there's a class action lawsuit waiting to happen, since one of their agents clearly acknowledged that she could see the cancelled payment. A year ago, none of this was a problem and the money would have been back in the account instantly - but they changed policy and now we have to endure this crap. All in all - over two hours wasted on the phone, never got to the mail place, and didn't get to go eat where I wanted to, which I may try to do tomorrow. For food, I had the remaining lox on two bagels with cream cheese and I'm done eating.

AT&T is, far and away, the worst company that I have to deal with. There are no set prices for anything. They're constantly adjusting, but you have to sign up for this or that. "Wait while I check to see the best deal I can give you." Twenty minutes later they come back and it's all hocus pocus. One giant ponzi scheme, if you ask me.
-
Four!
-
Too hot at the ballroom tonight.
-
Trying to do a Viennese waltz when you're worn out from the heat isn't pretty.
-
Thankfully, there was only one of those.
-
Page four? Really?
-
vixmom could have gotten at least a page or two out of BK's phone company post.
-
Should I have said vibes you meet your deadline ;)
Thank you.
You are welcome.
-
Bruce, vibes AT&T has truly solved the problem.
-
We watched Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
I thought it was clever with a good story. The animation was also good. Overall it was ok.
-
Good evening.
-
Well, this isn’t pretty!
-
Page 4? Really?
-
It must be the heat.
-
Or some rare disease?
-
Or too much to eat?
-
Or maybe it’s fleas?
-
Actually, my vote is the heat.
-
I had the heat on in my office this morning.
-
That probably made some East Coasters faint.
-
So far, this condo has never been too hot.
-
I did not accomplish anything today.
-
I tried to go back to bed this morning.
-
After I fed Nick, of course.
-
But Nick was having none of it.
-
After he ate breakfast, Nick climbed up on the bed and started bugging me.
-
This included yowling, which he doesn’t often do.
-
He let me have a little more sleep.
-
In approximately ten minute increments.
-
One more post.
-
Page 5
-
Gee, this is fun.
-
Page 5?
-
Still?
-
Where is George tonight?
-
Seeing MAN OF LA MANCHA again?
-
Or maybe a family dinner?
-
Or possibly at the movies?
-
Or maybe just watching TV?
-
Well, he ain’t here!
-
But, I am.
-
And soon, BK will be joining me.
-
Oh, dear! Oh, my!
-
MAYONNAISE!
-
I am at a loss of words.
-
A rare event for me.
-
Tomorrow I must do some more unpacking.
-
The kitchen is the worst.
-
Not a lot of cupboard space.
-
But I do have the pantry.
-
Also, laundry day.
-
Well, I must take my medications.
-
And rub in my pot cream.
-
Good night to all of you!

Today was a day.
-
I thought that I would get to sleep in, but Neve had other ideas. ::)
-
She woke me at about 8:30, but after I fed her and let her outside, I went back to bed and got a couple more hours of sleep.
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
I finally got up, took a shower and got dressed.
-
I then had to hie myself to my sister's house to change the water for her daughter's chickens and give them some cut-up grapes.
-
My sister and her daughter and her boyfriend went to Portland for the day and they wanted to make sure that the chickens had fresh water and their daily treat.
-
Here are the chickens eating their grapes:
-
And here's how I protected my shoes from the chicken poop:
-
:D
-
After feeding the chickens, I came back home for a bit until I had to leave for dinner.
-
Margo and I and her daughter had dinner at Applebee's...we both had gift cards. :)
