Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of both Musso and Frank, and now it is time for you to post until the returning cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EXCURSION!
-
First post after BK.
-
Thank you, BK, for the kind birthday wishes.
-
I wish I could stay and chat, but I am currently getting the whirlies.
-
I obviously don’t know how to spell that word.
-
But neither did spellcheck.
-
Happy birthday, Brother Tom! Now you have to feel better immediately! I has spoken!
-
I am supposed to go in the morning to have my blood work and other tests done for my physical, but I think I may wait until Monday.
-
Happy birthday, Brother Tom! Now you have to feel better immediately! I has spoken!
Wow! I feel better already.
-
Happy birthday, Brother Tom! Now you have to feel better immediately! I has spoken!
Thank you for the birthday wishes, jan.
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR TCB (a.k.a. Tom)!! :D
-
You better, you don't want me coming up there to discipline you.
-
Kimmel, did you find any pictures for me?
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR TCB (a.k.a. Tom)!! :D
Thank you, George (a.k.a. George).
-
Kimmel, did you find any pictures for me?
Better yet, Kimmel, did you find any pictures of jan?
-
Good night, you party animals!
-
Good night, Lovey, I do hope you feel better.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
And how about you, Brother George, how are you tonight? Did you remember to bring Neve in?
-
And how about you, Brother George, how are you tonight? Did you remember to bring Neve in?
She's lying right next to me!
-
Tickle her tummy for me. what did you eat tonight, anything yummy?
-
Here's one.
-
Tickle her tummy for me. what did you eat tonight, anything yummy?
She liked the tickle...as usual! And I had a Subway wrap for din-din. It was pretty good. How was your dining experience, jan?
-
Here's one.
(http://www.haineshisway.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=5868.0;attach=9426)
Cool! And that's a great set.
-
I made a hamburger and macaroni salad. Hadn't made the salad for a while so I really had to wrack my brain as to what I put in it.
-
I remember that show. "Stop the world I want to get off." Bruce looks like he should be playing Pinocchio.
-
And Tom could play Geppetto.
-
I remember that show. "Stop the world I want to get off." Bruce looks like he should be playing Pinocchio.
I can see that! ;)
-
And you could play Stromboli.
-
And I, of course, would be the Blue Fairy.
-
Or you and I could switch parts.
-
And with that, I say good night and sleep well.
-
And you could play Stromboli.
Pay my airfare, and room and board, and I'm there!
-
Or you and I could switch parts.
That might be fun! ;D
-
And with that, I say good night and sleep well.
Thanks, jan. And good night, to you, too.
-
And now, I must be off. Today and tomorrow are going to be long days. Today after work, my friend Margo and I are going to see a free, outdoor production of The Tempest. I ran the sound board for a different local production a few years ago, so I'm somewhat familiar with the show. I'm sure it'll be good...and there's no rain in the forecast!
-
Tomorrow at the Washington Center, there will be a free reading of the entire (redacted) MUELLER REPORT (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/19-08-24-mueller-report/) in two parts, with a half hour break in between the two parts. Margo and I will actually go to see the first part as patrons, and then usher for the secod part. The whole event starts at 1:00 pm, and is scheduled to go until 9:00 pm!
WHAT WAS I THINKING?? :o
-
I'm going stop somewhere and get something that I can eat during the break because I probably won't have enough time to go somewhere, come back and if I drive, find parking again.
-
I just took an unplanned nap.
-
And now, I must go to sleep for real.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Too damn early. But Poe and I have his checkup at the vet this morning and I had to feed them a little early because he has a ground up “calming” pill in his food.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY and FEEL BETTER vibes for TCB!
-
Wishing you a year of joy, love, health and wealth ...happy birthday dear Tommy
-
We had a horrendous thunder storm last night
-
The whole house shook with the sound of thunder and we lost electricity and Internet services
-
Both are obviously back this morning
-
Scrolling through FB this morning I found we got off very lightly
-
My friends daughter who lived about a mile away had her car totaled by a falling tree.
Fortunately she was safely inside the house at the time.
The tree also brought down power lines
-
Once again the storm came suddenly and torrentially....but this time we didn't get any water in to my great relief
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have absolutely nothing on my calendar, so I slept in after I fed the cats.
-
Vibes for Poe's vet visit from Annabelle, Thatch, and Stella!

Good morning, all.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to our DR TCB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Very slow start to the day! And I must move on.
-
Happy birthday, Tom! Hope you are feeling better!
-
Annabelle has not bugged me about patrol being late. I hope this does not mean she's feeling poorly.
-
DR vixmom, I could tell from the temperature and things I heard outside the window that there was a storm, but it seemed very slight here. I am happy you and vixdad came through it so well.
-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Healthy Vibes to DRs TCB, Jeanne, and Ginny!
Page 3 Dance!
I see one of the evil Koch brothers has died.
I hope that you have a terrific day!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DR TCB!!!
And many more!
-
I am glad that MR BK had a good lunch at M&F yesterday.....to hold him over for another six years.
-
Yes DR FJL - I Love PEE-RU In The Springtime was the working title for .... that other Cole Porter song.
-
Patrol was weird this morning. Annabelle was deliberately contrary. She wanted to go out, she wanted to ride the elevator until it arrived, she went to the basement with me and went through her usual terrified act until the elevator arrived. Then she refused to board and decided to explore. She pulled the same on the first floor and I chased her to the second where she lounged on the linoleum until a tenant above us loudly closed their doo and spooked her. She ran to the elevator and waited till it arrived before she decided she really wanted to explore the second floor and I had to drag her home. She's back to her old self.
-
Yes DR JOHN G - Joy of Living is a wonderful early Lucy performance....and I like the guy who plays her husband, Frank Milan. And of course the little girls who played her twin daughters! They couldn't be cuter!
I don't remember ever seeing it before when it showed up on TCM OM DEMAND after being presented on Irene Dunne Day....
-
It seems to be mildly raining outside. I'm happy to stay in and pull books.
-
Annabelle is testing you...she must have decided to do that new play ANNABELLE OR CHANGE.....
Oh my, needing a calming pill.
Hope the checkup goes well.
Good morning.
Happy Birthday, TCB! I wish for you a day where you feel really good.
I had to give Rex some pain medication to take him to the vet. Even that didn't work and he said no more vet visits.
I am so sorry.
Rex is still with us. The vet staff is amazed every time we go in to refill his meds.
Good for Rex.
I had the impression that he was terminal and never going back to the vet. I'm happy he's still around.
It's called ACTING! ;D
Rex was going in every other day for fluids last summer. He got so they couldn't work with him because he was so angry. We jointly decided to stop and let him live as long as he lives. They may require me to take him in soon, since it has been about a year since he was in. We didn't expect him to live this long.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven and a half hours of sleep.
-
In another side of the crazy life of cats, Thatch is being exceptionally clingy and wanting attention this afternoon. It's complicated because he's so timid and jumpy about being held that he runs away if he sees more than one hand approaching him. So, he'll let me pet him and brush him if only one hand is involved, he'll curl up and sleep next to me or walk all over my work table as long as I make no attempt to hold him.
Given where we were when he moved in, this is a miracle!
-
Because Poe changed over the years from enjoying to hating his trips to the vet, he’s now routinely prescribed a “Calm Kitty” kit when an exam is scheduled.
It consists of — (1) um, I forget, but it’s something in a capsule that we mix into his food once a day for a week, (2) one Gabapentin pill we pulverize and mix in the morning of, and (3) a wipe-down of the interior of his carrier with a pheromone solution.
The potent thing is the Gabapentin which leaves him loopy the rest of the day, but it makes the exam doable. The vet’s standard prescription for that is two pills (one the night before), but when I reported that the two had left him WAY too loopy and off balance, they reduced it.
One of my niece's cats has to have fluids every other day. My niece has learned how to inject the cat herself (with another person holding the cat) and they both (niece and cat) have adjusted to the process. Is it possible for you to do that yourself (with the help of another person), Laura? The fluids are quite inexpensive and not having to go to the vet every other day saves money there, too. Just a thought.
I recall discussing this when Rex went on fluids. DR Laura do I remember correctly that he is a difficult cat to give the fluids? DR Ron was very helpful when we had to learn to do this for Bogie.
Rex is still with us. The vet staff is amazed every time we go in to refill his meds.
I get it now, he isn't going with you to the vet to pick up the meds.
-
Friday afternoon greetings! Richard and I went to Hamilton today for a lecture and lunch at High Street Cafe, one of our favorite places. We then went to visit the historic monument on the site of the original Fort Hamilton, where neither of us had ever been. The interior walls are inscribed with veterans’ names, Revolution through the Spanish-American War. The first list, though, is early Butler County pioneers and it includes my great, great, great, great grandfather, Ephriam Tucker. Pretty cool, huh?
-
Happiest of birthdays to DR TCB!
-
This morning I had a great swim. I felt strong & good, for me, in spite of the fact my back & hip had a twinge this morning.
-
By this afternoon putting on my shoes was very uncomfortable. I did fine on our walk breathing into the pain, except for the little hills. Going up those hurt more.
-
Sitting at the computer bothers it the most.
-
Well, I'm off. It turns out that I need to run a few errands and won't have time before the show starts tonight, so I'm leaving work now.
Be back later.
-
When we were going to the vet every other day, they were very good to us. They charged us for the fluids and did the installation (?) at no cost. I took a lot of sweets to them. But he got too hard to work with. That's a real shame, because Rex really is a nice friendly cat.
Now Joshie -- he was a real terror at the vet.
-
Hello, everyone.
(What I first typed was "Hell, everyone", which might be more appropriate.)
-
MEGA Happy Birthday to TCB!
I hope you're feeling better and having a lovely day.
-
Vibes to DC Rex for peace and serenity.
-
There are a couple things in today's news which make me want to move to another planet.
-
I'm not real happy with LA drivers, either.
-
On the positive side, I saw Erik, my massage therapist, today, then went across the street and bought the last of the almond croissants, along with several healthier choices.
-
Vibes to DC Rex for peace and serenity.
He would have peace and serenity without Leonard around. Asha and Rex ignore each other.
-
Healthy vibes to all HHW felines.
And to all DRs.
-
I have no news.
Well, I need a nap. But that's not really news.
TTFN. zzzzzzzz
-
Happy birthday to dear TCB, and hoping you're feeling better the whole birthday weekend.
-
Back from picking up no mail or packages, but shipping a package.
-
I had the intention of trying the Popeye's chicken sandwich. As I suspected, however, the place, which is NEVER crowded, had a line out the door, all to try the new chicken sandwich, their answer to Chick-Fil-A. It's like these people, who NEVER would be caught dead in Popeyes's, now MUST be there for this trendy thing so they can post about it. I hate these morons, seriously. It's Popeye's chicken on a bun with pickles. Oh, but they've never had Popeye's, that's right. I guess we'll have to endure this for another few weeks, after which the morons will be on to the next thing.
-
Sounds very good.
-
Well, I did it. A three-mile jog. Got through it just fine. Tough going the first block or two then I just let my mind relax and go with the flow. First jog in a year, I think.
-
Tonight was organic chicken and apple sausages for dinner. Cooked them in the airfryer and they cooked and browned and crisped beautifully very quickly with no muss
-
I'm loving this thing
-
I'm loving my Instant Pot, Vixmom, but you are making me think about an air fryer now.
-
What us an instant pot? Is it like the old pressure cookers?
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY and FEEL BETTER vibes for TCB!
A double thank you to you, Chas.
-
Wishing you a year of joy, love, health and wealth ...happy birthday dear Tommy
Thank you my dear Vixmom.
I am curious how sweet potato fries would taste.
I'm loving this thing
😊
I really like sweet potato fries - I dip 'em in 1000-Island dressing.
-
DR TCB don't forget to check all your birthday wishes on Facebook.
-
I really like sweet potato fries - I dip 'em in 1000-Island dressing.
I like them best with Chipotle sauce. Plain are also good.
Of course plain is also healthier.
Did I miss this info - was this your first full jog since living in the new place?
-
I get the feeling that question was addressed somewhere, but can't find it. Anyway, it'a a post.
-
Actually, we can say it's Popeye's chicken on a bun with pickles as if that's nothing special, but in my 20s or 30s or even 40s, it would be even more tasty for having had to stand on a line for it.
At least you're sure it's fresh. When a place like Popeyes or Wendys is empty, you;'re too often getting the sandwich that's been sitting there for two hours.
-
"KFC" now supposedly stands for "Kitchen Fresh Chicken." I think that just means it was Fresh at some point that day.
-
I'm finding more and more the truth in the Rita Rudner line where she claims her husband tells her there's a reason they say don't shoot the messenger, and that's because they ALWAYS shoot the messenger. (I guess the idiom is there because for most people, the problem doesn't exist until the "messenger" tells them about the problem.)
-
Happy Birthday DR TCB!
I hope that you have a terrific day!
Thanks, Jennifer.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DR TCB!!!
And many more!
Thank you, Jack. You are next.
Happiest of birthdays to DR TCB!
Thank you so much, Ginny.
MEGA Happy Birthday to TCB!
I hope you're feeling better and having a lovely day.
Thanks, Jeanne. Feeling a little better each day.
-
Happy birthday to dear TCB, and hoping you're feeling better the whole birthday weekend.
Thanks, Fred.
-
I hope I didn’t miss anyone.
-
Again, thank you all for your kind wishes. It made an otherwise dreary birthday, much better.
-
Is George still out this evening? I thought he was going to an outdoor theater production?
-
Tom, I told you to get well. Are you defying me? I will come up there you know, and you don't want that!
-
I had to be up at seven this morning for the (apparent) yearly fire alarm and sprinkler test.
-
The notice said this would start at “8 am, sharp”. Of course they started with building “A”, and I am in building “J”, so they got to me at around 12:30 pm!
-
So, I sat and suffered in my wheelchair for 4 1/2 hours, when I really wanted to be back in bed.
-
My sister called me about 9:30, and I postponed my birthday lunch to Sunday.
-
Tomorrow they are all going to Eastern Washington to visit my great nephew who will turn thirty on Wednesday.
-
Tomorrow my schedule is clear, so I can relax some, and put away a few more boxes if I feel like it.
-
It has been a long day and I am still not well (mentally).
-
Thank you and good night to all the members of my second family.
-
‘night!
-
Is George still out this evening? I thought he was going to an outdoor theater production?
I did and I'm home. I got to chatting with a friend and now I'm watching an episode of Antiques Roadshow.
