I was traveling with family of mother, father, and sister in Europe and we ended up at the castle of a sinister countess and perverse household. I woke up just as my father was going to visit a psychologist friend to see what he could learn.

Later, I had a dream about an release partry for the new recording of The New Yorkers.

It came to $30.00. I think your Safeway delivery charge is quite reasonable.

I dragged out the overture and revised six bars of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" for the trumpets and horns. added a triangle to the fugue, and cleaned up the guitar in "Home for the Holidays," and made out my invoice. Now it's frozen.

Those of you who appear at or attend autograph shows would have known Leon. He used to fly in from his home in Harrisburg, PA, to attend many of them, always looking for a new signed book or photograph. I encountered him at many shows in Los Angeles and Chicago; possibly even Austin, and he always bought my latest book.

R.I.P., my friend.

I've never learned enough about film vs. video and frame rates to understand it, but I think that's what it relates to. (I mean, I know about film vs. video rates, but it's how the transfers and compromises are executed that matters.)

The instances where I commonly experience it are on commercial Blu-rays in which the studio has transferred, say, an older feature such as a documentary or interview which played beautifully on DVD, and it now plays jerkily on the BD. Fox movie releases such as Cleopatra come to mind. Those wonderful long "making of's" play fine until they show a clip from the film, and then it's Jerk City...but watch the same feature on the older DVD and all is well. It's something in the transfer of certain things from one format to another.

Post by: bk on October 23, 2019, 12:04:24 PM: It IS a frame rate problem and it was introduced in the transfer stage so it can be fixed. They'll try a test to see if they can fix it without re-transferring, but if they have to re-transfer it's an easy process and won't take all that long.

Does the vet clear out her nose? Is there something she does that she can give you the ability to do at home and reduce your vet bills?

Yikes!! :o I worked with a couple of people (who have since retired) that would complain about these kinds of tests...just for the sake of complaining. They KNOW that it's only going to last for a short while (and our alarms aren't horribly loud), but they still had to bitch and moan about why it has to happen during work hours, or why it has to happen at all. Things like that. :P

Yes, when we see outside during the conversation about it being 9 pm, it’s clearly daylight, as is the ambulance scene. It then looks like a gloomy overcast when Bogarde and Ure are walking to the car, and finally it’s more typically day for night (with “moonlight” shadows) during the conversation in the car.

EDIT: I found your post on HTF and added a comment that that describes what I see on the DVD.
