I have no plans today, so I will return to my current Babes in Toyland project.  I need to finish this round of work by mid-November, and I had to put it on hold while I finished that overture.

I was fortunate to work with her on several New York City Gay Men's Chorus concerts and a Jerry Mitchell-directed benefit tribute to Ethel Merman.  She was tough, but I loved her.

I never thought I’d be saying this, but last week in Cincinnati I had the pumpkin pie at a Frisch’s (Big Boy) for my first time ever, and it was to die for. The nutmeg and other spices, the texture, everything was in perfect balance and it was so satisfying. I was full from my meal, but if the whole pie had been sitting in front of me, I would have eaten two or three slices.

They even still have what would appear to be their nod to Cincinnati Chili on the menu, but it really isn’t quite that. This was a Big Boy item, nationally, from way back. The couple of times I had it were at a Bob’s Big Boy in Los Angeles.

Before my dad died, ab=nd I was home for Thanksgiving, I bought several pumpkin pies from the Middletown Frisch's for the dinner.  You're right.  They were excellent!

I went to the UPS printing store to get 22 copies of the program that I made up for my sister's ceremony tomorrow.

However their printer was not working very well.  It kept leaving little black spots here and there on the paper.

When I picked them up - they gave me 25 instead of 22 - and yes they GAVE them to me at no charge.  So that was a nice bargain.

I got a chunk of Babes In Toyland revised, then Thatch went exploring and, making a misstep climbing the bookcases, brought down a pile of books and himself with them.  Luckily, he seems uninjured, but the mess ended today's thoughts on Victor Herbert.

That's very nice!  I assume that the little black spots weren't too much of a distraction.  One time, the printer that I use here at work started printing spots on everything, but they weren't little. :P Fortunately, all I had to do was replace the toner cartridge and all was good.

We had read this morning that an accident in Portland had backed traffic up in Vancouver.  Our traffic into down town was light while the traffic paralleling us going in to Portland was practically stalled.

The spots are more like for or five little dots that are noticeable but they are NOT overwhelmingly so.

SO - I am happy....since they will in all likelihood be tossed in the trash before the end of the night....or most of them will anyway.

I've seen the ballet before. It's sharp and funny, but I prefer "Fancy Free," which I think is funnier, and "Dances At A Gathering," which is one of the most moving and devastating things I've ever seen.

I am not a big fan of pumpkin pie which is why I used to bake a light pumpkin pie with the eggs whites whipped separately and then folded into the pumpkin mix.  I often baked it with a sugar cookie crust & raisins added.

I'm still debating if I want to pay for TCM.  I need to go to the Comcast office and talk to someone in person and see what my options are about downgrading my services, but to not downgrade them too much. :-\ That would not be good.

We were down completely, but thankfully I was able to save my long post - infuriating.  But it came right back up.

Back from a really fun show - about thirty-eight people - that part was disappointing - but they were a very vociferous and lovely crowd.  This is the problem with this theater - there's no sense of community, the membership seems completely clueless about the financial woes, and many of them seem only to be about themselves.  That has to change and Doug and I are discussing ideas, but for them not to support this fundraiser for their own theater is just off-putting, IMO.  We made them about 1700 bucks but had everyone there supported us and invited people and put the word out, they'd have made four grand.  This cast worked their ASSes off and delivered a great show for FREE - volunteered their time and talent even though only one of them is a member of the theater.  And so a show of support from the members who didn't even share the show information would have been nice.  As it was, half the people there tonight were mine.  But, I won't dwell on that because we did a good job and everyone who was there had a great time, both last night and tonight.  Sound was much better tonight for reasons I'll explain in the notes.
