Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a lot like Christmas but not really, and now it is time for you to post until the looking a lot like Christmas cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ESCULENT!
-
First post after Bk.
-
T.O.D.
Probably the piano, even though I dob’t play (my own fault).
Also the marimba, which I also don’t play. But my Aunt Ruth (my mom’s sister) played the marimba, and owned her own. It always fascinated me.
-
Good night.
-
Good night, Tom.

Topic of the Day: piano, cello, harpsichord, voice

Good morning, all!

First good night of sleep in several days. Since it's all relative, a good night of sleep for me at present is nowhere near as good as what I considered a good night's sleep ten years ago.
At present, a good night's sleep is one in which I do not need to get out of bed - to stretch my legs which ache and cramp easily, use the bathroom, or take more sleeping aids - more than three times a night. God, I hate this.
-
The cats behaved pretty well last night. Stella and Thatch watched over me, and Annabelle slept in the cat tree. When I get my next payment for my work with Patrick Brady, I'm getting the cats as a belated Christmas gift a new cat tree.
-
I have no plans today at all. After I tidy, I need to read a couple of chapters of a friend's novel, work on an A&T story, and laze about.
-
In the past hour, I've finished the kitty cleanup, taken garbage to the basement, dealt with a John McGlinn issue, and remembered that today would have been my dad's 98th birthday. He's been dead nearly thirteen years now, and I still miss him enormously.

Good morning, all.
-
I was somehow permitted to sleep in till 9:00 this morning, and boy did I need it.
I’m just SO glad today is not a matinee day.
Tomorrow is, though, so I must be good tonight while attending a friend’s holiday open house after our show.
-
Good morning, all.

TOD:
Bassoon for its rich, deep, otherworldly notes. Love Vivaldi’s concerti for il fagotto, as it’s known in Italian.
-
Sometimes when I'm tired and don't want to take the stairs, I take the esculent.
-

I did, too, though I feel I am running late already.
-
TOD:
Piano - although the way I play it, it should be called a paino.
I also enjoy the saxophone. I like trumpet players, but the instrument is just okay.
-
Only one show today DR CHAS SMITH? You're slacking off.
-
BTW, FWIW, FYI, and apropos of not very much but I'll post it anyway:
Several days ago I was in Safari on the iPad, and there was a sudden weird moment, one of those times when you sense "something" happened but it isn't yet apparent. A few minutes later I saw that my bookmark (the icon or shortcut or whatever Apple calls these things) for HHW had changed from its standard generic 'H' to an actual image of what looks like a white fingerprint on a blue background. On both the MacBook and the iPhone it's still the generic 'H', but the "fingerprint" thingy remains on the iPad.
So, what in the HELL?
-
Good morning.
-
DR elmore how long ago did you get your current scratching post? Your cats must be very good about using it. Ours used to last forever. Eventually we stopped buying the tall ones as our homes offered plenty of places for them to perch up high.

While currently not dealing with the same kind of pain I know what you mean. Though this cold wakes me by 4:00 I consider only getting up once or twice to deal with other stuff means a decent sleep. At least that is what I tell myself as I walk around like a zombie ;)
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe five hours of sleep.
-
It’s been raining for about it 30 hours
-
I checked the basement before bed and all was well
-
I woke in the night with a desire to visit one of the smaller rooms in the house and while there noticing the rain was coming down with some force
-
I checked the basement and it looked like a well
-
So I spent an hour or so sopping things up with towels as I had no wish to disturb vixdad with the sound of the wet dry vac
-
This morning there was another couple of hours of sopping and replacing wet towel dams with dry towel dams
-
I’m on load three of the towel laundry
-
Good afternoon!

YAY

Darn, I first read that as it looked well, not like a well :(

-
Dry basement vibes for DR VIXMOM.
-
Lots of interesting basketball games on this afternoon.
-
Vixmom -- Oy!!!
-
Excellent stumble-through is done, picked up some packages (but not all) and then got Subway.
-
A very quiet day. Printed out emails from Patrick Brady about my work as well as a couple of scores.
-
Well, Fancy Feast Beef & Liver was not a success with three little kittens tonight so I'll be tossing out a carton of that.
-
Saturday afternoon greetings! The ornaments are on the tree and it only took the entire Michigan/Oregon basketball game and almost 3 quarters of the Army/Navy football game to get it done. Richard unpacked them and I placed them on the tree.

I wouldn’t toss it too quickly what they turn up their noses to one day may be their favorite next week
-
Sorry about your basement DR Vixmom! :(

vixmim had actually said "I checked the basement before bed and all was well" two posts before that.
-
Basement vibes for Vixmom.
-
It’s been a long day and it’s far from over.
-
Went with my friend Gail to a massive pottery studio on the north side of town. It was a whole compound of Japanese-style buildings beautifully laid out.
-
The doctor who owns it makes pottery as stress relief. Two weekends each December, he sells his work as a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood.
-
I found six gorgeous pieces for a total of $50.
-
Then we went to a Greek place for gyros and some okay galaktabourico.
-
It was a trek from the north side to the south where a friend was having an art show. I picked up two paintings, one a colorful, crazy take on the Alamo, the other a margarita.
-

I know & I commented. Then I read the following post "I checked the basement and it looked like a well" without the added "a" and thought all was still well ;)
-
Then we went and joined a group from her church to serve up a barbecue dinner gor the homeless. I think this is the fifth time over the last six years I have helped them. I love this event. The folks at the center really appreciate it.

Nice :)

Photos please.
-
We served up more than 500 plates of pulled pork, green beans and potato salad with an orange and a cookie.

You were busy tonight.

Now I have to go dancing.
-
Very nice John!
-
I love the violin, always have.
After the violin is the cello.
Then the saxophone.
-
Tried to watch Parasite - fell asleep immediately for one hour. Now listening to music and trying to motivate myself to feel like watching a motion picture.
-
I'm really in the music mode these days and Jane will be happy to know that I'm currently listening to several interesting violin concertos.
-
The violin is my favorite as well, especially when it’s used for fiddle music
-
Got a couple of hours of dancing in.
-
And I'm exhausted.
-
I have finished up Christmas in Connecticut. Love me some Barbara Stanwyck.
-
Now starting The Gathering with Ed Asner and Maureen Stapleton. Sad movie, yet I enjoy watching it every Christmas.
-
I have been having terrible pains all day in the area of my left kidney
-
I have been having terrible pains all day in the area of my left kidney
That does not sound good. I hope it ends soon.
-
I don’t know if it’s from mopping up or as vixdad suggested a kidney stone
-
But I want it to stop
-
I feel like someone kicked me
-
I don’t know if it’s from mopping up or as vixdad suggested a kidney stone
I definitely hope it's not that.
-
I feel like someone kicked me
That's what I feel like when I have something with NutraSweet in it.
-
TCB, I was thinking about Nicky today and, out of curiosity, did a Google search on cat whisperers. There were a surprising number of hits. I also recalled a vet I spoke to once who does medical qigong (distance healing) on animals. She has excellent credentials and seemed quite grounded. (I know this sounds like hocus-pocus, but I actually knew a very highly-respected doctor who was doing informal studies to test it. NIH has funded some studies on it, too.) I don't know if either of these approaches interest you, but there are some people out there who do this sort of thing.
Vibes to you and Nicky both.
-
Vixmom, perhaps it's time for Urgent Care?
Vibes you feel much better tomorrow.
-
Good night.
-
I wonder if JohnG, with all that viewing, will ever get around to the DVD of The Creature Wasn't Nice?
-
Finished with my viewing and have gotten everything ready for the Kritzerland show.
-
I'm really in the music mode these days and Jane will be happy to know that I'm currently listening to several interesting violin concertos.
I am happy 😊

Oh no.

Does this happen to other people?

MEGA VIBES FOR DR VIXMOM!
-
Good evening.
-
One more post.

-
R U serious?
-
Page four at 11:21 pm!

Where was everyone today?
-
Have we not seen George at all today?
-
That is not like him.
-
And how about
you us lunkheads?
-
Have we all been goofing off?
-
I suppose vixmom is going to claim she has been swimming in her basement pool.
-
And John was out dancing with the Rockettes.
-
I made the mistake of going to Fred Meyer’s (Kroeger’s) today.
-
I wasn’t going Christmas shopping.
-
I just needed some breakfast for Nicky and some coffee creamer for me.
-
Why? Why, didn’t I go to Safeway?
-
Because it seemed so far away.
-
It is maybe two or three miles farther.
-
I didn’t even think about the crowds until I pulled into the parking lot.
-
The parking lot was jammed (of course).
-
But it wasn’t raining, and I had my scooter, so I saw a place on the outskirts and I took it.
-
I grabbed the stuff I needed, thought about buying Christmas lights, but I have no way to hang them, so I didn’t buy any.
-
For some reason, the people of Puyallup, well at least South Hill, don’t like to use the Self-checkout lanes.
-
In Tacoma there was always a line, but out here there is always a couple available.
-
I checked out in a flash and was back in my car right away.
-
So, being a lazy gourmet cook, I stopped at awendy’ For a burger and chili fries for dinner.
-
It looked really stormy out, bu I think we only got a sprinkle of rain.
-
It is expected to stay that way thru Tuesday.
-
Ten days till Christmas Eve.
-
And in about 15 minutes it will be ten days until Christmas Day.
-
Maybe I need to buy myself a Christmas tree.
-
Perhaps that would put me in the mood.
-
FIVE!
-
A whole page of me! If I had known I would have written some better material.
-
Actually, any material would have been an improvement.
-
UNDERPANTS!
-
Eggplant!!
-
Tomorrow the Seahawks are playing an early game (10:00 am PST).
-
We are playing the Carolina Panthers.
-
It should be a close game.
-
Maybe after the game, I will see if there is any way for me to hang my big star out on the patio.
-
I have never looked up close to see if there are any hooks already out there.
-
And I apparently didn’t pack/move either of my nice lighted wreaths that I had at the apartment.
-
Oh well.
-
Maybe I should spring for a new one.
-
Well, I am now very worried about George.
-
I hope he told someone where he was going to be.
-
Good night, all.
