It is a really good book. Naturally the centerpiece of the story is the Titanic, but it is really about two other ships and their captains.
The other ship from that night was the Californian and her skipper, Captain Lord. If you do not know the story of the Californian, you should really read this book. Basically, the crew of that ship watched a “mystery ship” fire 8 distress rockets into the night sky, and basically never lifted a finger to find out what was happening.
Good morning from Florida, y’all.
Fed Ex just delivered my first Christmas gift. It was a wonderful, unexpected surprise that made my day.
Leonard is such a good kitty. I put up the Christmas tree and he is totally leaving it alone. He looks at it and walks behind it, but he is not messing with it at all. He didn't last year, either, when he was a kitten.
HHW'ers in Chicago AND Florida.....we are transcontinental!
I've been thinking about my highs and lows of 2019. Mostly, because of my health issues, it's mostly been mediocre, pretty much the same all the time, but things I can remember . . .
Highs
March, recording "The New Yorkers"
May, adopting Stella
Thanksgiving, wonderful dinner with good friends
December, release of "The New Yorkers" CD
Lows
Moulin Rouge, probably the worst piece of garbage I've seen in a theatre since the original production of "Carrie."
DR FJL I am surprised some drug company hasn't already jumped on your lyric.....I hate drug commercials that steal popular songs and make the songs about THEM:
O O Ozempic!!!!
I am very happy about the impeachment, but I am very bothered by the GOP claims that this is simply Democrat revenge. I don't know how these GOP morons like Gaetz, Jordan, and Collins cannot be outraged by separated families in concentration camps, children dying in cages, the ridiculous national debt, pardoning convicted war criminals, continually trivializing our national security, the destruction of ecology, natural resources, endangered animals, etc. I would think everyone in politics would want to see this wannabe Hitler out of office and in prison where he belongs.
It would be the biggest high of 2019 if that damned Ohio property sold by Dec. 31!

Re the impeachment: I always say the same thing, because no one can really dispute it, no matter which side you're on: Can you imagine the same exact scenario playing out but with a Democrat president - can you even imagine what the reaction would be if the Republicans knew that a Democrat-controlled senate had already made up its mind? If the Democrats were lying and screaming what do you think the reaction would be? Well, we all know.
Good morning from Florida, y’all.
Lovely. How is the weather?
Wife: Look at that drunk guy.
Husband: Who is he?
Wife: 10 years back he proposed to me and I rejected him.
Husband: Oh my god. He's still celebrating.
That's so sad. :(

Very windy.
Well, crap. Even though I got it last week, I just finished listening to the entire The New Yorkers (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y994S54/), and I really do love it! HOWEVER, several of the tracks at the end of the CD have a kind of crackly distortion that I previously had only heard on recordable CD-Rs that were getting too old. :'(

DR VIXMOM thanks for the package, I shall listen soon and it will of course get a place of honor in the lobby display case when I direct ANYTHING GOES in June!
