Well, you've read the notes, the notes wondered when will it start to look like Christmas, and now it is time for you to post until the wondering cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HALCYON!
-
First post after BK...finally. ;)
-
Off to bed, then to concessioning, then to my parents' house.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
First post from the other coast.
-
TOD:
I’m giving myself this vacation. Maybe The Letters of Cole Porter if Santa doesn’t send a copy.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept pretty well last night, although I had a scare just before I went to bed.
-
Every night, before bedtime, I brush Thatch and Annabelle. Thatch loves his brushing and goes crazy: he rolls about, stretches, and tries to eat the bristles, which are either metal or a really stiff plastic. Well, last nioght all was going well while I brushed the top of his head when he swerved, and I thought I raked the bristles over his right eye. I was terrified: what if I blinded him or scratched it badly? I tried to check it out,. but he hates being held and fought me like mad, but it looked to me as if something happened because he kept squinting. That bothered me all night, but he seems yo be okay today, so maybe I only thought I'd poked his eye?

Today I'll be listening to holiday music and working on my charts for Patrick. I have some tidying up after kitty cleanup, and I need to make a shopping list for a much-needed trip to a supermarket.

TOD:
Nothing....yet.....I wait for the sales in January....
-
I enjoyed HalCyon a lot in Barney Miller.
-
Sorry for your loss, Vixmom.
-
Happy Winter Solstice.....shortest day of the year!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Got to sleep in a little late this morning, which was good.
-
It was a pretty solid sleep, and the couple of dream segments I can sort of remember were a little more interesting or appealing than recent ones. They weren't necessarily new material, but they were a little more positive than these types generally are.
-
Saturday morning greetings! After a busy couple of days, I'm glad to have 3 days mostly at home. We may have to do a little last-minute shopping, but nothing major. Top things on my agenda are wrapping and baking.
-
Sorry to read about the lack-of-energy Act 1 last night. I'm sure BK will kick ASS and take names -- as well he should.
Oh -- re the pre-curtain speech which I meant to comment on when BK first posted of it -- When we did this show two years ago at another theater, we were fortunate in that the fund-raising rah-rah speech was given by someone who knew how to keep it energetic, amusing, and short. This current theater thankfully doesn't give them, and hasn't in the more than twenty years I've known them.
What they like to do, though, is tailor their recorded announcement to the show itself. This one is given by a very irreverent Santa and it truly loosens the audience up for what is to come. I think if any audience were to be unresponsive to this speech, we'd be in for a long night. Actually, the audience that I think loved it the most (it's a very naughty but bleeped delivery) was the preview audience which is always a full house of seniors. They were with it from the first little word...and the words get worse as you go. And they were with us throughout the show. Thankfully, every audience has been good, and some great, but those "old people" were an exceptional and memorable bunch.

Last night's anniversary party was very nice. Richard has known the bride all his life (their mothers were good friends). They did a good job with table assignments, so we got to sit with my good friend Tina and her husband Joe and our former neighbor Julie. The next table over was full of friends from the Methodist church where we (and the guests of honor) were married and there was another table full of people from the church that sponsored Rob's Scout troop. Lynn sings with a ladies' show choir called Center Stage and they performed their holiday show for us. Very festive!

I'm up, I'm up - five hours of sleep.
-
Off to a nap.

But first, what’s Christmas without Ethel Merman saying Imogene Coca looks like an idiot?

-
Lots of good basketball games on this afternoon......

But first, what’s Christmas without Ethel Merman saying Imogene Coca looks like an idiot?
https://youtu.be/MVHIiPp4w60
I loved it!
-
Thatch, Stella, and I had a little doze while we listened to Christmas songs.
-
Guess what Mr. Postman brought me today?
The replacement disc for The Creature Wasn't Nice! Isn't that nice?
Now when in the HELL am I going to watch it? Today and tomorrow are impossible, but I might be able to do it on Monday. Very happy to have it, and yes, I did quickly test it and it works LOVERLY-ly. :). Thanks and a tip o' the hat to BK.
-
Auditioned one actress, did the bulk of the shopping for the Do, picked up the package from yesterday that was delivered but not delivered - he brought it back at eight last night. Loser.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I drove over to the little nearby salad bar and encountered a really obnoxious driver. What makes these people think that their needs are so much more important than everyone else's? Gawd!
-
Can someone p,ease send me a time machine for Christmas?
Walmart is completely sold out of time machines, but I've found that hiring a bit of help can be most...well, helpful. It won't help right now, but do you know of someone who might want to earn a few extra dollars helping you with cleaning and laundry from time to time? Especially if there are some chores you really don't like to do.
Coping vibes.
-
About to have some lunch. But I will NOT post a photo of it.
-
TTFN.
-
What is this Page Two nonsense? This will not do....this will simply NOT do.
I wonder if MR BK still has the patented bitch-slapping machine that he used to use.....or was it called something nicer?
-
Ethel Merman calling Imogene Coca an idiot did make me laugh....she said it as though she meant it.
-
Underpants!
-
I wonder what the sister of DR GEORGE is giving her chickens for Christmas or vice versa..... or it is vise versa?
-
Is anybody getting a new job in 2020? Or is anyone looking for one?
DR ELMORE needs us to sell that damned property.....everybody say "St. Joseph take action for DR ELMORE" three times fast.....
-

DR ELMORE needs us to sell that damned property.....everybody say "St. Joseph take action for DR ELMORE" three times fast.....
I said something like that when I drove past that damned property yesterday on my way to and from the cardiologist’s office.

I'll be leaving in the morning for Buffalo. It looks like the weather should be fine for flying--fingers crossed!
-
We spent the afternoon at Craig's apartment just relaxing, talking, eating chocolate cherry bread I ordered from Zingerman's, and playing with grandcat Kitty. Bryan gave us some specials beers to deliver to Craig and said which one he was to share with Keith. They both said it was delicious.
-
We then walkedt to a somewhat new Mexican restaurant. It was great and I expect we will go next time we are in town.
-

I wish I read this before I went to the grocers
-
Now I may need to take another visit
-
I have a wake for my moms cousin who passed yesterday
My condolences, DR vixmom.
Thank you Kevin and thank you also John

Soup kitchen was packed today. It was a cold day and the baked ziti, meatballs and pizza bagels were a hit
-
I was there 10-1:15
-
Then a quick race to the bank and home by 1:30 soo could accompany vixdad to his optometrist appointment.
-
While he was being tested I browsed the Costco meat section to check out prices for Christmas dinner
-
Bit pricy for the prime rib this year
-
Then I helped vixdad choose a new pair of spectacles and once they were ordered we headed home
-
I made quesadillas for a late lunch and then (finally) headed out to do my shopping
-
I browsed the meat section at BJs and they were about $2 a lb better than Costco’s so I picked up a beautiful 5lb roast for Christmas Eve and some jumbo shrimp as well
-
Oh and mushrooms
-
I am rather concerned as Keith may have swallowed part of a toothpick tonight that was in his dinner.
-
I needed D size batteries but they were all out
-
So I decided to get them at Home Depot
-
Which is right across the parking lot
-
Then I got in my car and drove past Home Depot and directly to church
-
Remembering the batteries as I entered the sanctuary
-
So I decided to go after I set up the altar and filled all the candles
-
He didn't know it was there but felt something like a toothpick in his throat that finally went down. They confirmed they use a very long toothpick that is pulled out before serving the food. If a piece broke off it could have fallen into his food.
-
Got everything sorted popped back to my car said “batteries”
-
Then drove directly to the grocery
-
Where I did NOT get Brewers frozen peppermint hot chocolate ice cream because I didn’t know it existed
-
And just this minute I realized that that beautiful vidalia onion I took 5 minutes choosing is still in the shopping cart
-
Definitely going back to the grocers
-
I need that for the mushrooms
-
So I packed all my groceries in the car and said auuugh BATTERIES!!!
-
Then I drove to CVS to pick up some prescriptions
-
Then I went home unpacked the car and brought almost all the groceries in
-
Except fir the half gallon container of ice tea which slipped from my hand hit the concrete drive causing the bottom to immediately split and pour ice tea all over the driveway
-
And my right foot
-
Fortunately I bought 2 containers
-
Then I put all the surviving groceries away
-
Put the church linens in to soak
-
And had a cup of tea
-
I have not yet approached the crawl space wherein lie the Christmas tree ornaments
-
Or purchased batteries
-
Where I did NOT get Brewers frozen peppermint hot chocolate ice cream because I didn’t know it existed
It was so good we had seconds. Because we’re adults. We can do that.
-

Vibes he is ok

Yup we grownups can even have ice cream for breakfast
-
Which seems like a fine plan for tomorrow

And more vibes. Very scary story.

So, it seems like a plan is coming together for Dad. He leaves the current place for a nearby facility on Dec. 26. Who knows how much time he has left. He sleeps most of the time, but he was awake enough to talk with me for a moment this afternoon. And he seemed to know who I was.

Thank you.

Good night, all.

Good night John
-
Good evening.
-
One more post.
-
Five!!
-
Vibes and prayers for DR John and family!
-
The rain has finally begun to subside.
-
And it is suppose to be mostly clear and dry thru Christmas Day.
-
That would be very nice.
-
Today I met my sister and her husband (B.I.L.) for lunch at Red Robin. I had the fish & chips
-
Our waiter was not really with-it.
-
Usually, the waitstaff is busy pushing the endless French fries. Today he never asked if we wanted any more until after he had cleared our plates.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Usually, the waitstaff is busy pushing the endless French fries. Today he never asked if we wanted any more until after he had cleared our plates.
How rude! That's just not good waiter etiquette!
-
Today was a day. The concessioning was quite the madhouse at intermission, and pre-show is always easy.
-
We sold almost all our the special gingerbread cookies, so that was good.
-
Otherwise, it went pretty well.
-
Dinner at my parents' house was fun. My sister's boyfriend and I had sirloin burgers, and everyone else had clam chowder.
-
I'm not a fan of clam chowder, so I enjoyed the burger.
-
We played our usual card game, Phase 10, and as usual, I lost.
-
After I left my parents', I did a little shopping at Fred Meyer, then came home, and now am going to ketchup on all of today's posts.
-
Kitty cleanup went too easily this morning....
That sounds ominous.
;)

I have a wake for my moms cousin who passed yesterday
I'm so sorry, Vixmom. My condolences to you, your mom and your cousin's family. :(

Happy Winter Solstice.....shortest day of the year!
Hoo and Ray! It seems like just yesterday the days were still getting shorter. ;D

Hi, George.

I wonder what the sister of DR GEORGE is giving her chickens for Christmas or vice versa..... or it is vise versa?
I wouldn't think so, but I just don't know.
-
DR George--please check your messages!
Kevin, checked (finally) and answered!

Oh, no! I hate it when that happens!

Good!
-
Well...
-
...what're we waiting for??
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
Back from dinner, a mostly great show, and then dessert.
-
Must write some notes, and, of course, no rest for the weary tomorrow as we're having two auditions at noon before the matinee.
-
Well, I'm going to have to read the notes tomorrow. I'm really fading and can't keep my eyes open.
To quote Jane Curtain: Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow. :)
