Well, you've read the notes, the notes were "C" for CONSISTENT, and now it is time for you to post until the consistent cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EUTRAPELY!
-
Good morning to all
-
And how is it I’m the first post after BK?
-
Good morning, all!
-
And to my Jewish friends, a very Happy Hanukkah!
Around 1999, I was asked by the Milken Archive to do some arrangements for a series of recordings they planned to make. This is the Hanukkah song "Likhtelekh," by Leo Low and Morris Rosebfeld, sung in Yiddish.

DR vixmom, I am so happy nothing was broken in your fall. How are you feeling today?
-
Well, my payback for successfully assembling the cat tree was The. Worst. Night. Ever.
Both my legs throbbed all night long and no pain killer did a thing to stop it. All the movement - climbing on and off the floor, toting and dragging - to get one cat tree to the basement and the other assembled really did me in. The cats are happy and I do not begrudge one minute of the work. I've got to start asking friends for help.
-
Two favorite Christmas songs? Like a show tune, it depends on the day and my mood, but for now:
Mary's Boy Child
Home for the Holidays
-
At the moment the thought of walking to the bank to get cash for my super's holiday gift is about as welcome as a hemorrhoidectomy with no anesthesia, but I must do it today or tomorrow.
-
Good morning, all.

Here’s one of my favorite carols, a piece of Bach given Allelulias and a forceful set of lyrics. We sang this as our processional for the school Christmas program when I was in second grade. It stayed with me.
https://youtu.be/HFHhCORckmU
-
Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Forest Green turns o Little Town of Bethlehem into a carol that reduces me to tears most every time I hear it. That descant is sublime.

Eutrapely McKechnie Shinn is a fine role for a lady of a certain age.

Preparing for the DO vibes for MR BK.

Nothing happening here for Christmas Eve....which is fine....not sure what is happening for New Year's Eve.
I shall have to think about DR TCB's topic.
-
And for Hanukkah, there’s Phyllis Newman chanting The Blessing of the Candle, so simple and haunting.

Horrible night of sleep. New bed.
And it’s still pouring out there.
-
Happy Noche de los Rabanos, all.
Must get my radishes.

I have a topic for the next two days. What is your favorite Christmas song(s)?
Yesterday TCB said
Now there are rules. It can be a classic carol, a holiday classic, or a comic song for the season. BUT, you are limited to only two choices. No copying the list of “Billboard’s Hot 100 Christmas Tunes” or the listing from the back of one of your holiday CDs. Two songs only. So take your time. You have tomorrow and Tuesday to post your favorites!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
I say TWO?!
-
I managed to take two out of focus photos of the new cat tree from my cell phone and our DR Charles Smith has downloaded them for me. Annabelle is at the bottom, and Thatch is in his little house. I think he's appropriating that for himself.

The second.

-
Thank you for the vibes. My left hand and wrist is badly bruised but nothing permanent
-
T.O.D.
Our Christmas plans never change from year-to-year.
On Christmas Eve, we will watch a movie, then on Christmas day, we will go out for a Chinese dinner.

Vibes for you TCB

Jane removing the reading portion isn't really an option for me since I spend the day reading papers and typing into the computer
-
Here how the score comes out. They never bring me anything.
Annabelle: 1,2,4,5,7,8,9
Thatch: 2,4,5,8,9
Stella: 2,3,5,6,9

I am fairly beaten down following our shows this weekend and could have used another hour or two of sleep. But though I have things to get done today, at least none are performances!
Yesterday’s show was grueling. A full house, but we finally got our payback in the form of a classic dead matinee audience. What a difference in the effort it takes to keep the energy going for them. We wuz spoiled!
But the prize was that one group obviously hadn’t read or believed the notices that this is a show for adults. Fortunately they hadn’t brought kids, but I’m told this one family sat stoically silent and disapprovingly in the face of the adult comedy before them, and then left at intermission. I think that had happened to us at one AVENUE Q performance, too. Amazing.

Three more to go, Thursday through Saturday!

Dad is being placed on hospice care this morning. He has been unresponsive this morning. Mom is taking it very badly. She lost one of her best friends last week, and it’s all a bit much for her.

DR GEORGE check your settings - when I scan a document, I have the option of scanning it TO a PDF file.....that would save you a step.
Actually, that's what I'm doing. I am scanning the invoices to make PDFs. Fortunately, I can download some directly from a few vendors' websites, which actually takes less time, so I do that for the vendors that allow it, but I have to manually make PDFs for all the others. ::)

Tom's Topic of the Day (from last night). Here are my two favorite Christmas songs (these are only what I could think of right now)...
-
All Those Christmas Clichés (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8T6Oo_enMg) - this is Nancy LaMott's version. I first heard this song sung by Lainie Kazan on Cabaret Noel: A Broadway Cares Christmas (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CZ3UC8). I actually prefer Lainie's version, but I couldn't find it on YouTube. ::)
And...
-
Wishing You a Drag Queen Christmas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va1dv6zzs1Y), sung by BD Wong (video is unrelated to the original song ::) )
And the Honorable Mention (because it's necessary)...
-
Auld Lange Syne (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80PlTeDollo) by The Barra MacNeils. (HERE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RE921GOiFA) is the album version.)
-
:)

My replacement for The New Yorkers (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y994S54/) has arrived! Hopefully, this doesn't have the same defect as the first one!
-
Since the crackly sounds were at the end of the recording, I'm going to start from Act Two.
-
Feel better vibes for DR Elmore!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
Oh no DR Vixmom! Hope you are feeling better today! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
Since the crackly sounds were at the end of the recording, I'm going to start from Act Two.
All of Act Two sounds great, so I'm starting from the beginning, and I'm sure the whole thing will be perfect.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine-and-a-half hours of sleep, which I really needed.
-
No time to go to mail place now until after the haircut.
-
This site was wonky until now - I tried to post right away and lost the post - then it was up, down, up, down - I alerted the media and hopefully they've fixed it.

Vibes for DR JOHN G.

DR VIXMOM and DR GEORGE posted some "C" word videos, so I will post one as well...

Annabelle is sick again. I've had to clean her nose three times today. I hope this is a passing thing. I cannot afford a vet at the present time.

That's a great cat tree, by the way, and it was great to see all three of them exploring it!
-
Tonight is one of our best friend's annual holiday party. It's always on Christmas Eve Eve, always thoroughly enjoyable, but I'm playing hooky this time. I called them to give my regrets, and there's no problem with that at all, no one is more understanding. It's not like I haven't been going for the past two decades. But it was time for a mental health night, a ME night, one of the handful this month in which I can actually not go out. It feels wonderful so far.
-
Hello, everyone.

John G, very sorry to hear about your dad.
Vibes of coping and comfort for you and your family.

Larry, I've had cleaning help off and on for many years, but until the last few years it was always discretionary. It's been difficult to fathom that I really can't do certain things anymore. They were so easy before! Of course, it's not just the cleaning; it's many things. I've found that it's all in finding the right person.
Vibes you find one or two people who can help with various tasks and make your life easier.

One of my favorite Christmas songs would have to be BK's THIS CHRISTMAS, because it's such a clever and unusual take on Christmas. I'd have to think about what the other one would be.
-
My posts aren't posting properly. I have to do it several times.

Thanks, Jrand! I'm getting there.

Finished the new Star Wars movie. I guess in a little while I'll start the tuna pasta stuff.
-
Finished the invoicing. I guess right now I'll go home. ;)
Until later.
-
Tuna pasta salad batches are made and in the refrigerator. Thirty-minute break and then the ordeal of chopping and mincing the garlic and chopping the onion.
-
I'm home.
-
Just had to share. :)
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
After work, I went to Fred Meyer and bought my dad a new set of headphones.
-
I actually got two sets.
-
They were on sale...half off.
-
They were normally $29.99, but on sale for only $14.99.
-
The reason I got two sets is because earlier this year, I had gotten him a set of wireless headphones, but after a couple of months, they seemed to stop working.
-
It was after the period that I could return them, and those were about $80. :o
-
So I actually got him another set of the same kind, and after another couple of months, those broke! :P
-
So, I took the headset from the first set and paired it with the transmitter of the second set, and they worked! ;D
-
And then...
-
THOSE BROKE!! :'(
-
So hopefully, these new $14.99 sets will not be so delicate.
-
But if they are, at least they're less than a quarter of the cost of the wireless sets.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Slicing, dicing, and mincing is done. My hands are very tired.
-
I didn't mention the peeling - the peeling of the garlic has always annoyed me, but tonight, after a quarter of a century, I figured out how to do it easily - has to do with how much of the ends you cut off.
-

That's cool. I've never tried to peel garlic, but I work with someone who has over the years mentioned the difficulty of and different ways to peel garlic.
