Then, back to work on Thursday. :P
Last night I ended up having to watch HOLIDAYS WITH THE HOUGHS. Now Derek is a very talented dancer, and he sings well enough, plus he isn’t bad to look at. However Julianne is over the top sweet and bubbly that it is hard to take. She was so sickening sweet, that I had to send Nick out of the room so he wouldn’t have an insulin reaction.
I'm back from Florida, but had trouble getting to sleep, with all the noise of something landing on the roof, and this man calling everyone a Ho and was driving something suspiciously called a "slay." Amazon had promised the delivery by 8 pm, and the bit about lots of customers is really not a good answer when you supposedly have that extra-special "Prime" service.
DR Jane, the Saga of Salty was quite entertaining.
My friend Mario, with whom I've been having Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for the past couple of years, has been sick the entire week, and so there will be no dinner. I have chicken, veggies, and other fixin's, so I'll have a nice little dinner here.
I feel a bit better after a few hours of sleep
Thatch has established his home inside the little hp=ouse on the cat tree. For some reason, whenever I walk by and see him lounging inside it, I think of Walter Brennan!
Sorry I have been trying to get my skype to work so we can chat with the kids in Florida
Vixdad was feeling poorly so dinner was just soup and sandwich
Last night we watched the George C. Scott film of A Christmas Carol, directed by Clive Donner. I hadn't seen it in maybe ten years or more. I had forgotten how creepy it was - it is a ghost story - but I thought it was quite wonderful and very true to Mr Dickens' story.. Scott is excellent, but Annabelle's favorite Scrooge is Mr Magoo.
And who, may I ask, is Jimmy Mulligan?
Today is the first day of Christmas!
I arranged this Christmas song for the New Yoirk City Gay Men's Chorus and my friend Faith Esham many years ago! I'm still fond of it.

Annabelle has wonderful taste in Scrooges.
I hope DR FJL's package arrives.
Darling daughter should be here in a few minutes. It's begun to rain.

Speaking of which, they still haven't cleared me for the second part of my urology surgery (the first part was in June, but the sequel needs a cardiology clearance because even though my parents are 99 and 91, they have a substantial history of heart issues, which had seemed to make everyone nervous about taking responsibility. Every level wanted assurances from another level.
I was getting a vague feeling they were trying to delay and delay for some reason, and sure enough the new plan starts January 1, and I now have a cardiologist referral, which of course will not book me until January 2020. It's the same insurance company, but the two plans seem to be in different cost centers.
Had a lovely lunch today. Carol poached Cohoe salmon with lemon and dill. I made green beans sautéed with plenty of butter and Clementines along with apricot glazed carrots. I put together a cheese tray with what we had plus some almonds, dried cranberries and pita chips. Cooking and arranging things helped.
Darling Daughter and I had fun - she had spaghetti and tuna pasta salad, we opened presents, and then did our nostalgia drive, which was quite different than last year and really fun. Now I'll have some tuna pasta salad. She took the rest of the sauce and I saved just enough in case I want some tonight.
Good evening. Cold enough for everyone?
I got up at 2:30 a.m. to start preparing for today. I recleaned the floors, because babies always manage to find something, no matter how clean the floor is. We had a fun day. Everyone got him books, and he is still too little to really enjoy them.
It rained most of the day until late afternoon, when it cleared up enough for him to take a spin on his new toddler bike. Grandpa spent a couple of hours trying to figure out how to put that together last week.
We played One Little Finger, Old McDonald had a Farm, If You're Happy and You Know It, and other games, much to his amusement.
And we all ate too much. Well, except the baby, who dropped most of his food on the floor. Leonard hid all day.
Jane, I just got the referral for the cardiologist. It came earlier this week while I was away. But with my plan changing as of January 1, I have to make sure the cardiologist is covered in the plan I'm starting 1/1/2020, and actually, Skip says that I'd better check that the urologist who originally asked for the clearance is even accepted by this plan.
Bombshell was well made and exceptionally acted. It’s hard to watch a movie in which all of the characters have no moral fiber at their center, so you find yourself rooting for people just because they are less repugnant than others and you hope they find something in their miserable selves worth standing up for. I felt the most sorry for Megyn Kelly’s children.

Good vibes with it all.

I prefer to avoid movies & novels like this, except this is a true story. Still, I think I will pass unless Keith wants to watch it.
And who, may I ask, is Jimmy Mulligan?
He's a very talented artist who attended the Do last year also, IIRC.

I watched the Thomas Birkeland version of the musical today. It still holds up after all these years.
How was your day, Tom?
How was your day, Tom?
It was very nice. We had ham and turkey with my sister’s great potato salad. My sister said that my shrimp dip was the best ever; and everyone raved over the pumpkin dessert.

Nice. My family didn't actually have any pumpkin pie this year. My sister's boyfriend brought a frozen peach pie, but it was never cooked.
