Well, you've read the notes, the notes had great alacrity, and now it is time for you to post until the cows with great alacrity come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AUDACIOUS!
-
Hi George! Could not reply on old thread.
Oh bugger. I can't post photo of Ron Kuhlman and Kay Cole together. File size too large. Doug Haverty would know how to shrink it.
-
Ron as he was in A Chorus Line
-
Kay Cole as she was in OPB of A CHORUS LINE
-

I have an app on my tablet and phone that can reduce the size of photos. It's pretty effective for reducing the file size, but sometimes it can't reduce them enough.
-
Those are great pictures that you did post.
-
Those are great pictures that you did post.
Thank you to the internet for those! Shoot, the photo of them together is really sweet, I just don't know how to minimize the pixels or dpi's or megabytes or whatever. Maybe our show producer Mr. Haverty will show me later today.
Excellent Saturday vibes to all.
-
I think my family is getting together today for our quasi-weekly family dinner. But whether we are or not, I'm going to bed now. 8)
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Jane,
To answer your question of yesterday re: THE TWO POPES.
Yes, we enjoyed it...once they dropped the subtitles.
I never liked "reading" my movies.
;)
Movies are for "seeing" and "listening," not "reading".
-
I slept quite poorly, so as soon as I fed the babies this morning I went back to bed for another hour and a half. I had a strange dream about a large black woman working on becoming a music sensation. I have no idea why I had this dream, none.
-
Hopefully, today we will find 3 1/2 hours, so that we can watch THE IRISHMAN.
-
My horoscope was bullshit: no windfall landed yesterday.
-
DR JRand69, I hope your nephew is doing okay.
-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vibes for the Griffin family today! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
Good morning, all.
-
Here are more vibes for DR John G. and family.
-
So.....
Saturday.
But is it a Saturday that feels like a Saturday?
I think so. But we shall see.
-
That extra hour's sleep has disoriented me. Kitty cleanup went well, but it all seemed off-kilter.
-
I got a lovely note from Patrick Brady this morning:
Also, I got those two PDFs you sent yesterday. I had a chance to take a quick look at “Fiddle Faddle” and it looks FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC! Your work is so great, Larry. I really mean it! I’ve been working so hard on these Piano Conductors, and orchestrating and copying these other three numbers that I was getting a little overwhelmed - but to see all the wonderful work you had done - those beautiful orchestra charts - it got me all excited and inspired me to push on!
I had sent him scans of the two numbers I had written before I took the original scores to the post office yesterday morning.
-
I need to make the bed, take the trash down to the basement, and then settle down to work. I've got two scores to finish!
-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good Weekend Vibes to one and all! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
DR Jan, if you'd like me to resize your photo and send it back to you. let me know.
-
The word of the day is what keeps me in theatre....my audacity!
-
And of course my good physique.....often times when I walk past people I hear them say to one another: "What an ass."
-
I would love to see DR JAN's photo.
DR JEANNE - I don't know who made the original diagnosis of my nephew - it may have been just a guess my brother made....haven't heard anything either way this morning.
-
Continued book writing vibes for MR BK.
-
AntennaTV has changed its schedule for the new year so that we no longer get The Partridge Family and Hazel and Three's Company on Saturday morning.....we get EDUCATION/INFORMATIVE programming.
-
I shall have to think about the TOD. Although I do like:
The show must go on.
Every dog has its day.
You can't go home again.
....until the cows come home.
And of course the patented HHW:
And now Dino at the piano.
-
Did somebody say AUDACIOUS?
One of Abe Lincoln’s favorite stories:
After the men and women had enjoyed themselves by dancing — promenading — flirting etc they were told that the supper was set. The man of audacity — quick witted — self possessed and equal to all occasions was put at the head of the table to carve the turkeys, chickens and pigs. The men and women surrounded the table and the audacious man being chosen carver whetted his great carving knife with the steel and got down to business and commenced carving the turkey, but he expended too much force and let a FART — a loud fart so that all the people heard it distinctly.
A deep silence reigned. However the audacious man was cool and entirely self possessed; he was curiously and keenly watched by those who knew him well, they suspecting that he would recover in the end and acquit himself with glory. The man with a kind of sublime audacity, pulled off his coat, rolled up his sleeves — put his coat deliberately on a chair — spat on his hands — took position at the head of the table — picked up the carving knife and whetted it again, never cracking a smile nor moving a muscle of his face. It now became a wonder in the minds of all the men and women how the fellow was to get out of his dilemma. He squared himself and said loudly and distinctly — “Now by God I’ll see if I can’t cut up this turkey without FARTING.”
I have a fine reading of that on one of those old “bawdy humor” LPs.
-
Isn’t it DR youngreps whose picture needs to be reduced in size?
-
DR youngreps I enjoyed your story last night.
-
And the photos today.

Poor Keith feels the same, unfortunately he watches them for me.

As do I.

It is.
-
What a wonderful note, DR Elmore!
-
Isn’t it DR youngreps whose picture needs to be reduced in size?
How embarrassing! Well, I'm happy to resize her photo, too!
-
What a wonderful note, DR Elmore!
Especially given how messy my writing can get!
-
Good afternoon?
-
We just finished breakfast...where did the morning go?
-
Send vibes of comfort to John and family
-
Elmore that was a lovely note
-
DR Jan, if you'd like me to resize your photo and send it back to you. let me know.
I believe it is Leslie that has the photo.
-
I would love to see DR JAN's photo.
I still think that it is Leslie's photo.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Vibes for DR JohnG and family.
-
Vibes for DR Jrand's nephew.
-
And of course my good physique.....often times when I walk past people I hear them say to one another: "What an ass."
:D
-
I'm up, I'm up - have had the light breakfast, picked up packages, and shall now futz and finesse and mush on.
-
And of course my good physique.....often times when I walk past people I hear them say to one another: "What an ass."
But the casting couch can only take you so far. At some point, you have to leave that behind, and do it where it matters
-
Onstage, that is.
-
More vibes to Jrand's nephew and family.
-
Thanks, Leslie, for all the updates on the show!
-
Was it a secret while "A Chorus Line" was running the first time that Ronald Dennis, who sang "Gimme the Ball" section, write the music for that, and from what I hear, Marvin Hamlisch OK'd using his music as is?
-
I gather than it was seen as no different that Neil Simon whispering one-liners in Michael Bennett's ear, and the book writers accepting that.
-
Thanks for the vibes all!
I am remiss in not sending vibes to DR JOHNG and his family on this difficult day.
-
No snow yet which is fine with me.
-
Page 3 Dance!
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
The funeral is done. Some gaffes, nothing major.
-
No additional bodies.
-
Yet.
-
Are you emotionally drained? :(
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Continued vibes for John G and his family.

Continued vibes for Jrand's nephew and family.

You received a windfall of compliments and appreciation. Never a bad thing. I imagine more work will follow.
-

I would love to see DR JAN's photo.
DR JEANNE - I don't know who made the original diagnosis of my nephew - it may have been just a guess my brother made....haven't heard anything either way this morning.
It's an interesting case. Do keep us informed.
-
I have no news, just doing things around the apartment.
TTFN.
-
And on that note (B-natural), here's a millstone to celebrate! :D
-
I think my family is getting together today for our quasi-weekly family dinner. But whether we are or not, I'm going to bed now. 8)
Have a good day, all!
Well, I found out that we're dining today and we should be at my parents' house between 4:30 and 5:00. I'll need to shower and get dressed pretty soon, but first, a few replies to some posts.
-
DR JRand69, I hope your nephew is doing okay.
~~~Ditto!!~~~
Until later!
-
Elmore, that was an amazing review of your work — and much deserved. Congratulations.
-
And on that note (B-natural), here's a millstone to celebrate! :D
Congratulations, Jeanne. To quote Cole Porter, you’re just too too!
-
Taking a break - twenty-three pages, and I'll definitely do at least ten more, perhaps twenty - that will depend on whether I stay for the show tonight.
-
Continued vibes for John G and his family.
Thirty-three pages and now I have to get ready to go.
-
Page three? Really?
-
What should we do?
-
Move on ...
-
Four!
-
Finished my first book of the year, Carson McCullers’ The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. Really loved it, especially since reading February House and knowing of how she wrote it while sharing a house with Benjamin Britten, W.H. Auden and Gypsy Rose Lee, among others.
-
I shall now be on my way to the theater.
-
We watched both THE HIGHWAYMEN and THE IRISHMAN on Netflix today.
Both were very good films, but also too long. Particularly THE IRISHMAN.
-
Finished my first book of the year, Carson McCullers’ The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. Really loved it, especially since reading February House and knowing of how she wrote it while sharing a house with Benjamin Britten, W.H. Auden and Gypsy Rose Lee, among others.
I was already reading two books from last year. I just finished Carl Sagan's Contact, and am now currently reading Nico Tortorella's autobiography, Space Between: Explorations of Love, Sex, and Fluidity (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/0525576738/).
-
Younger star and LGBTQIA+ advocate Nico Tortorella investigates love, sex, gender, addiction, family, fame, and fluidity through their personal story and the lens of their nonbinary identity.
-
It's very interesting and Nico is very open about their (yes, "their") life. Nico's gender is fluid and uses the "they/them" pronouns.
I borrowed The Heart is a Lonely Hunter to re-read. First I need to finish The Guardians, Grisham's latest book.
-
George did you receive an email from me?
-
Does anybody here have tattoos?
-
I have a tattoo related question
-
This is why I am up at 1:47 in the morning
-
I need a new brain
-
Hugs for you John
-
I hope you and Nicky have a peaceful night, Tom.
-
JohnG just passed 52000, which should be a nice sign.
Art least she didn't share the house with Gypsy Rose Lee"s mom Rose Hovick. Rose probably would have pushed someone out a window.
-
But hopefully out a ground floor window.
-
Here's the link to the NY Times article on the closing of NYMF.
No tattoos, Vixmom. But there’s no reason I’m still awake.
-
Well, no reason I can think of.
-
Gratuitous post No. 111!
-
It’s one post closer to page 5.
-
JohnG just passed 52000, which should be a nice sign.
I hadn’t noticed, thank you.
-
I’m listening to more of Say Nothing. Getting within a couple of hours from the end and excitement level is still high.
-
Otherwise, it’s probably too hot to sleep.
-
Mom, who has no padding anymore, needs it a little warmer in the house than I like.
-
I guess I need to figure out where the vent in this room is.
-
Two more posts.
-
Let’s do this...
-
Five!
-
Good night, all.
-
George did you receive an email from me?
Oh, my! Yes, Jane, I did...and then promptly forgot. Dopey me! ::)
I have now answered your e-mail. :)
-
Does anybody here have tattoos?
Not I. My niece does.
-
JohnG just passed 52000, which should be a nice sign.
It is! And anything worth celebrating is worth preserving (even if it's not at the exact moment ;) ):
-
Back from a completely sold out show. Great audience that could have been even greater were it not for some sloppy stuff and some underplaying, which simply doesn't work in this show.
-
But mostly fun.
-
I have to be up at eight-thirty, but I'm not going to bed until I finish the next section of the book.
-
Good evening.
I am very shaken today. Either Nicky’s vet or his pharmacy almost killed my little boy. The dosage on Nick’s pain medication was double what it should have been. The bottle says 1ML every 12 hours. The doctor says that is is supposed to be 1/2 ML every 12 hours. That is the reason he was throwing up his medication.
