Well, you've read the notes, the notes' vacation is over, and now it is time for you to post until the vacationing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ORBICULAR!
-
First post after BK.
-
BK, did you sleep thru Act 2.
-
First post after Tom.

It would be interesting to see Jake with a shaved head.

Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.

Thank you DR Jane and all. I forgot today to ask Doug Haverty about how to shrink a photo file but will ask tomorrow. Meanwhile here is part of the cast with our fight cheer "JEF" (and sometimes, "Penguin!" or "Mesalia!") before the show.
Jim Beaver (Sheridan Whiteside) is in the purple dressing gown with Susan Priver (Lorraine Sheldon) at his left.
To her left is Mark Stancato as Bert Jefferson, poor Doug Haverty is obscured and left of him is his daughter, the wonderful Hartley Powers as Maggie.
-
Errata. I meant to say at Jim Beaver's RIGHT.... and to our left ;)

Yes, interesting. Will this play well in a film version, I wonder.
-
Nice picture, Leslie! If you have more and can post them, that would be great. ;D
-
And now, I must be off. I have no plans today, except to watch a couple of DVDs, and maybe to make a couple of DVDs. I might even do some laundry. We'll see. ;)
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.

Great photo. More. More.
-
Good morning, all!

I had a bad night. I turned off the lights at 8:30 because i couldn't keep my eyes open, and then lay awake for over three hours while Stella and Thatch played musical beds with me. Also, my apartment is too warm, too darn hot. I slept under a sheet, and this is the first winter ever I can say that about January. I tossed about most of the night.
-
I did have one dream. I was a student at Miami University and I went to a birthday party for producer/bully Scott Rudin at his mansion just off campus. After the party I walked back onto campus and could not remember the dorm I lived in. The remainder of the dream was about trying to locate my dorm. There was a subway ride in the dream as weli.
-
DR TCB, I'm happy Nicky wasn't killed by the wrong dosage, and I hope the correct dosage helps him out.
-
Why do I suspect DR youngreps@sbcglobal,net doesn't read the other posts? Or is she pissed I thought she was Jan?
-
More work on my Brady bunch of scores today. I doubt I will be leaving the apartment.
-
Good morning
-
Off to church
-
Kitty cleanup went very easily. Stella is trying to decide if she wants a bit of an oatmeal raisin cookie or not. She decided she did.
-
Thatch has finally decided he can sleep in the top tier of the new cat tree.
-
I must make the bed and get to work.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Got to sleep in just a wee little bit this morning. A small miracle. I like small miracles. Well, I like big ones, too.

Page 2 Dance!

I guess you could call this a new year’s resolution:
I spent much of yesterday reviewing and relearning what I’d half-assedly learned about Finale a couple of years ago, with the aim of carrying on and achieving some level of competence at it. It went both better and worse than I expected, because now there are aspects of it that make some sense, while others stop my brain dead in its tracks. I’ll do a little more on it today, but a little each day from now on will suffice. There’s no race to the finish. I just don’t want to lose it again because I’ve decided it really is something I can use here and there.
Sorry to bore those who have no idea what I’m blathering on about. DR Elmore will, and he’s probably shaking his head and taking pity on me as he reads this.
-
More coffee!
-
Congrats to DR JOHN G on his millstone...
And to DR JEANNE on being in the Terrible Twos.
Did DR VIXMOM get her tattoo? I do not have such a thing on my person....
-
Vibes for MR BK for the M/G for the show and for the writing.
-
Terrible report from DR TCB....someone certainly was NOT paying attention!
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.
-
Kitty cleanup went very easily. Stella is trying to decide if she wants a bit of an oatmeal raisin cookie or not. She decided she did.
DR elmore dogs & cats should not eat raisins.

The Fun Home thing is amazing to me - it was put one someone's Twitter and B'way World saw it and posted it - there has not been one official announcement about it anywhere, and I've been looking. So, until there is, it's just someone posting on Twitter.
-
George, thanks for the email.
-
I shall now be on my way to the theater for a meet-and-greet, then a bite to eat, then the matinee.
-
We went to brunch with friends this morning and had a very nice time. The restaurant had excellent scones. I was disappointed in the bread pudding french toast.
-
Chart Number 3 is finished! One to go.

Yes, I know, and I replied to your email of this link. I honestly don't know if Stella ate that bit of cookie or not, but if she did, she's still alive.
-
I shouldn't have given it to her this morning. I wasn't thinking, and I know better.
-
While I worked on the chart today, I listened to all of the "Lost In Bostons" and "Unsung Musicals." Lordy, they were good! I love Dee Hoty's "Have A Memory on Me" and Debbie Gravitte's "Hero" still reduced me to tears.

I figured she was ok but wanted to make sure you knew about grapes & raisins. I know dogs that have eaten chocolate & were fine & others that got very sick on just a little piece.
Before I knew of the dangers of onions we had a cat that ate small if they fell on the floor & he was fine.
-
Somebody said Cats should have been a movie.
LOL. Not I as I did not care for the stage version.
-
Somebody said Cats should have been a movie.
Maybe they could re-dub it saying it was supposed to be terrible.
"Terrible Cats" scans just like Jellicle Cats. it could work.
"Terrible Songs for Terrible CATS"
Tune of “Jellicle Songs For Jellicle Cats”
Did you hope for the worst
When their trailer appeared?
Had you thought C-G-I
Would look better than that?
Did you see it online
And then text that it’s weird?
Did you think every cat
Was a terrible cat?
Well, now -
Terrible's here and terrible's good
Go have fun at a terrible "Cats:"
Will an audience grow
As we look at the stats
Make a hit of a terrible "Cats"
(repeat chorus now and forever)
or maybe not. :)

Very funny, Fred! :))
-
George, thanks for the email.
You're welcome, Jane.
-
Thanks, George!
Even the "Mame" movie doesn't FEEL quite as upsetting now as it once did. I think then we were assuming it meant another "Mame" wouldn't be made, that it was stopping an Angela Lansbury "Mame" maybe.
-
But being real, if that "Mame" hadn't been made, there probably wouldn't have been any "Mame" movie at all. It's not like anyone even cares enough to do a "Mame" for TV.
-
And these days, it's really easy to watch the scenes that work (to individual tastes) for us on YouTube.
-
Great fun, Fred.

Jerry Herman tried for years to get Cher to do it.

Good evening.

Cher is not my idea of Mame.
Nor mine. ::)
-
I have been sick. I think I'm finally about over it.
-
Sweet avatar, and funny text :)
-
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, John G.
-
Vibes for Nicky. I almost way overdosed Joshie with pain meds one time.
-
And now, the Golden Globes are starting.
-
Thank you, Laura. Glad you’re feeling better.
-
First award...Best actor in a series, musical or comedy: Ramy Youssef for "Ramy"

Vibes for Nicky. I almost way overdosed Joshie with pain meds one time.
Scary.
-
Best actor in a limited series or TV movie: Russell Crowe for "The Loudest Voice."
-
Once my prescription was the wrong medication. Fortunately I noticed before I took it, but not until after I was home. That has to be easier to catch than the dosage being wrong on an unfamiliar medication. Something for all of us to think about & double check before taking anything.
-
First award...Best actor in a series, musical or comedy: Ramy Youssef for "Ramy"
I have never seen it.
-
I haven't seen most of the shows or movies that were nominated.

We will watch Maleficent: Mistress of Evil tonight.
How was it? I never saw the first one.

The beginning was just ok until Jolie Angelina appeared. Her performance was excellent & we enjoyed it.
If I recall correctly DR John was not thrilled with it.

I just missed a few categories. I had to go downstairs and then I got a snack.
-
Best Animated Feature Film: "Missing Link"
-
Fascinating that Amy Poehler and Taylor Swift are presenting together. Wasn't there once some controversy over what Amy Poehler said about Taylor Swift on the Golden Globes, or did they actually make up over that right away?
-
Rewinding my DVR to find out the missing categories, the winner for Best Screenplay, "Once Upon a Time … In Hollywood"
-
Best Actor in a TV Series, Drama: Brian Cox for "Succession"

It's interesting somehow to see Colin Jost there as Scarlett Johansson's fiance/plus-one at the Golden Globes table when Laura Dern was pointing her out.

Hello, everyone.

BK's schedule makes me dizzy.

When I hear that expression, I think of the way Cher at 0:35 here said "It's not really crap, but it's not my favorite" about this song :) "Just Like Jesse James" before singing it

I was horrified to hear of the mix-up over Nicky's medication.
Vibes to both Nicky and TCB!

I don't know how you work on one chart while listening to other music. Don't you need to "hear" the piece you're working on in your head?
-
I agree Jeanne.
-
Feel-better vibes to DR Laura, with no relapses.
-
Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series, Limited Series or TV Movie: Patricia Arquette for "The Act"
-
Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama: Olivia Colman for "The Crown"
-
The Crown, finally something we watch.

A friend of mine used to belong to Kaiser's HMO. In one of many mishaps, he discovered that two doctors had each prescribed the same drug, presumably under different names, so my friend was taking a double dose. What I don't understand is this: pharmacy software has been around for AGES to guard against such things. Why didn't the software catch it? Why didn't any of the doctors or nurses catch it? HUGE mistake--and very preventable with just a little attention to the patient's history.
-
I guess I'll have to start watching some of these shows. Few excite me.
-
Will any DRs weigh in on their picks?
-
Maybe none of us has seen very much.
BK, you have screeners. Any that you'd recommend?

The Golden Globes are a bad joke. Whoever gives the most swag to them wins.
-
What a day. The meet and greet was fun and fine. Then Doug and I went and got some soup and split a bit of fried rice - I really didn't eat much - just the soup and about four ounces of the rice.
-
Then we played the matinee. Full house, but strange energy from the audience - lots of old folks. I knew they were not going to be our best audience when I did the pre-show speech. I have certain laugh lines built into it and I've done them every time always to big laughter. Today, mild chuckles. And so it went. Only the most blatant stuff landed well, but they really seemed to enjoy it, so there you are.
-
Kay did great on her final show.
-
Then I stopped at Gelson's and got some small snacks for the evening, then came home.
-
I dove right into the book and didn't do any futzing and finessing, so I'll have a lot of that to do tomorrow. I took a break and watched the rest of Alphaville, which is just weird. Then I watched a bit of the English version - fell asleep - it's badly dubbed.
-
Then it was back to the book. I finally stopped ten minutes ago after forty-three pages.
-
Now I'm listening to music and I don't care who knows it.
-
Good evening.
-
I missed the first hour and a half of the Golden Globes.
-
Luckily, they repeat the broadcast at 8:00 pm.
-
I don’t understand why the Golden Globes keep hiring Ricky Gervais as the host.
-
I found very little of his monologue to be funny tonight.
-
George we found the Maleficent sequel entertaining.
Thanks for the info, Jane. Maybe I'll check out both of them.

I usually find that audiences of older people usually love the show, but aren’t normally big laughers.
-
I normally share that with a cast, but most of the time the cast thinks there is something else wrong and they try to force the laughs.
-
Seven!

Well, good night.

Never a good thing. Always perform the show you rehearsed. I learned that early in my theatrical career.
