Well, you've read the notes, the notes were fixed and in, and now it is time for you to post until the fixed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TITULAR!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after Dino.
-
Second post after Dino.
-
I forgot last night to give you the update on that theater soap opera called CALLBACKS. The only information received all day had been between Tracy and my self, and between Jed and myself.
-
Today at work, I need to box up everything and get it out of my cubicle because our whole area will be rearranged and moved around. Someone will be taking my old space and where I'm going, I'm getting a new desk that can be raised or lowered so that if I want to stand, I can raise the height of the desk to be where I want it to be. That'll be cool! I just don't want to have to go through the hassle of moving, but it must be done, so it shall be done. I won't be organized at all today, but I will be moved. :)

This blogger/reviewer makes me giggle, but a good review is a good review :) http://atthetheatrewithradomirluza.com/blog/

Tracy finally wandered off to bed shortly after ten, because she has to work in the morning. A few minutes later I got an email (finally) telling me there would no news till, at least, tomorrow. I called Tracy and half-woke her up before I had actually let the message in the email sink in. As I read it to her, I realized my mistake.
-
This blogger/reviewer makes me giggle, but a good review is a good review :) http://atthetheatrewithradomirluza.com/blog/
Congrats, BK!
-
The message was to the males who had auditioned telling us that they were giving trouble getting confirmation of acceptance of the parts from all of the women. Whoops! As I read it to her I suddenly realized what it was saying. She basically said, well that is it for me.
-
A few minutes later she called me back. She went and checked her email again, and there was a note telling her she had not been cast. Whatever happened to the director calling up every person not cast and thanking them for auditioning. Whenever I have directed a play, I have made it a point to have my Assistant manager called every person.

Oh, no. That's too bad.
-
So, Tracy is not cast, and I have to wait until tomorrow.

I've also always been phoned when I haven't been cast.

Good luck, Tom...assuming you're still interested in the role.
-
So, with that update reported, I will say good morning.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!

I cannot access today's notes. There'sa clearly an issue with the site. On Safari, i'm stuck on Feb. 8 and the column archive stops at Feb. 9. On Opera, I'm stick on the 9th, and the archive stops there as well.
-
This morning I will go into City Center. I'm, looking forward to seeing Joshie, and helping him with Mack & Mabel.
-
I called our Ohio realtor yesterday. He says our property is one of three a buyer is considering.
-
Last night I had two strange dreams. The first was Halloween and I had blackened my face and dressed in black robes and hood, my goddaughter Charlotte, her mother, and my brother Macbeth were all in the dream. It mostly occurred in Manhattan, although a car ride at night was clearly up Grand Avenue in Middletown, Ohio.
-
In the second dream, I was in Ohio, running about a Kroger supermarket on South Main Street with my best friend from grade school, John Hawkins. We ran into a friend of mine and DR Ginny, Lyn Shafor, who was shopping. I told her I was thinking about moving back to Ohio from Manhattan.
-
DR vixmom, how's your hand today?
-
DR TCB, best of luck with the casting today!
-
Good news DR ELMORE....I will burn a candle for a good decision.
-
That review was not an easy read. It reminded me of mousetraps and ping pong balls. The play is a revival?
-
Nice reviews for MR BK & Co......today's certainly was an amusing word salad.
-
burn vibes for DR VIXMOM.
Casting vibes for DR TCB......
-
PAGE TWO.

Of course today's Word of the Day makes me think of Jayne Mansfield in WILL SUCCESS SPOIL ROCK HUNTER? - she starred in the show on Broadway with Orson Bean, the late.....
Rita Marlowe was incorporated by Rockwell and he was naming all of his duties in the corporation and her duties. She was a bit nonplussed at all of his responsibilities and he assured her:
"While I will have the corporate responsibilities you will be the TITULAR head of the company...."
Which of course made Jayne make an amusing squealing noise...

TOD:
I love finding videos of Frances Farmer.....and watching old game shows on YouTube.
Here is a home movie of actress Mary Beth Hughes who was in Indianapolis in 1958. She visited the WFBM studios where Frances did her tv show. Most of the film is Mary Beth and her daughter, but Frances is lurking in the background with an autographed photo that she gives to Mary Beth...

I shall soon be on my way for a regular doctor's appt. And then some banking.....

Knocking on Existence’s Door.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vixmom, I like sausage and ground beef with some onion, bell pepper, mushrooms and garlic in my stuffed peppers. No filler. No starches. Must be red bell peppers. Green are too raw, too indigestible.
-
Dentist visit this morning. Oh, joy.
-
Good morning, all.
-
oh my god, that review. I take it that’s the reviewer’s regular style? I almost wasn’t up to slogging through it at this hour, but I made it, and I scrolled down and skimmed a few of the others. Word salad, indeed. But like BK said, good is good.
-
Kitty cleanup is finished and the bed is made. Thatch and Stella are playing, and Annabelle isa probably napping in her carrier. It's become her new hangout.
-
Now that the orchestration is finished, I need to clean off my work table and prepare for the week of preparing my taxes. I see my accountant a week from today.
-
Continuing vibes for DR Elmore on the sale of the property.
And what interesting dreams. My dreaming, too, has been prolific over the past week. Had three doozies over the course of two nights that would absolutely have been written down if I were still doing that.
-
Last night I watched that 1964 TV production of THE FANTASTICKS that someone unearthed in color. If I’m understanding it right, that’s a recent and amazing find. I’d seen it in B&W but only long ago. The show is cut down to 52 minutes to fit into an hour time slot, but the core of the magic is there. For my taste, however, it’s still robbed of a crucial element by not sticking to the piano and harp, but what are you gonna do. It’s still lovely.
-
When I posted that I wasn’t even thinking about the TOD! But that serves as an example of the kind of thing I love to find suddenly placed at my fingertips.
-
My goodness that was some review. I’m glad she liked it.
-
My hand is better thank you all! But I’ll carry the mark for a couple of weeks
-
When I posted that I wasn’t even thinking about the TOD! But that serves as an example of the kind of thing I love to find suddenly placed at my fingertips.
Was that on YouTube?

TOD:
Finding whole films that even the library doesn’t have. DR Michael once pointed me to Sun Valley Serenade, one of my favorites. The quality may not always be the best, especially with the subtitles on foreign films, but it’s just great to see some of them at last.

Thank you.

Thanks for the link DR CHAS SMITH.....and of course with SOME systems, those can be downloaded.....
-
I think DR VIXMOM mentioned putting corn in your chili the other day.
I have been thinking about that since....I may give that a try next week.
-
WalMart had 16 oz. bags of Amish Noodles, the dry wide egg kind, on sale for $2....so I bought four of them.....they are very good....

Good morning!

From DR TCB:
On the Wast Coast, I think it was always 7-Up.
Thank you :)

Again from DR TCB:
Because O’Doul’s does contain some alcohol.
That is scary if it had been sold as not containing alcohol.

I think it is an excellent review.

If that email was only sent to the men maybe they shouldn't have explained the reason for the delay.

Whatever happened to the director calling up every person not cast and thanking them for auditioning. It is the polite thing to do in business as well, however, it doesn't always happen.
-
So, Tracy is not cast, and I have to wait until tomorrow.
I hope Tracy isn't too disappointed. I don't really understand the delay for you. Good luck.
-
I called our Ohio realtor yesterday. He says our property is one of three a buyer is considering.
MEGA VIBES!

Moving vibes for DRGEORGE. We of course will need photographic evidence of your up and down desk desktop...... :D

I think I had a bout of food poisoning last night.
-
I think the cheese, despite having an expiry date of july 2020 was bad.

Why so I’ve heard, DR Jrand69. So I’ve heard. :)
-
I think I had a bout of food poisoning last night.
I hope you are feeling better today.
-
elmore - did you try emptying your cache?
-
For me, the notes refreshing thing is intermittent. And I've had the problem only a minimum number of times.
After those first couple of days where I was having to refresh the screen, it completely behaved .... up until yesterday morning when I suddenly had to refresh it again for the first time in a while. That's on the iPad, btw, which is what I'm usually on in the morning.
So, yesterday morning was an anomaly, and it was back to normal this morning. There's no pattern to it that I can see.
-
Bad cheese. Yuck.
-
I tried the ketchup cleaning trick and it sort of works. The easily accessible places cleaned up easily. The little areas under the lips of the buckets not so much. I am going to try again with a toothbrush to see if it’s effective in the hard-to-reach spots.
-
elmore - did you try emptying your cache?
I did. Didn't do a thing.
-
The HHW column is still on Feb. 8, but in the column archive I can finally access today's notes.
-
The bird is not happy that I am in an online meeting and he’s in his cage.

Larry, did you refresh the browser when on the HHW homepage?

Vixmom, I like sausage and ground beef with some onion, bell pepper, mushrooms and garlic in my stuffed peppers. No filler. No starches. Must be red bell peppers. Green are too raw, too indigestible.
My memory is that my mom has only used green peppers. I can vaguely remember maybe one time where she used green, red and yellow, but mostly she uses just green bell peppers.

That's so cool! I'll have to watch it later, after I've moved into my new office and things have settled down...or when I'm at home.
-
And not that it matters, but I found it on my desktop computer with this shorter URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RQ8Urz2LA8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RQ8Urz2LA8) Either way, it's great!

On the side list of suggested videos was this video of Reba McEntire and Brent Barrett (the World's Sexiest Man Alive) singing "Old Fashioned Wedding (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpVh2UZo4tg)." ;D
-
Thanks for the link DR CHAS SMITH.....and of course with SOME systems, those can be downloaded.....
And put on DVDs. ::) Certainly not high quality at all, but still, playable.

Just sayin'. ;)

Thanks, Jrand! I can certainly take some before and after the move.

That is the standard, and I have rarely seen it otherwise, but the flavor difference is distracting, IMO.

Congrats to DR TCB on his roll - now all you need is the butter....
-
DR ELMORE the candle is burning.
As the first sign of the Chinese Zodiac, the Rat arrives with the promise of new experiences and favorable outcomes for new ventures. Paired with the metal element, it is also linked with success and fast productivity, so it really is a win-win year!

I got the role!
YAY! :)

Otherwise he is out of his cage/ What about if you have company over? I would think only for certain people.

Hello, everyone.

I hope this doesn't apply to TCB's post about having gotten the role! ;)

This blogger/reviewer makes me giggle, but a good review is a good review :) http://atthetheatrewithradomirluza.com/blog/
The reviewer needs to get out of his/her own way. The praise may sell seats, provided the reader makes it past the first paragraph. Horrible writing, but lots of praise is indeed a good thing.

I don’t have people over any more, if I can help it. But yes, he’s in his cage if they’re there. He becomes my protector if others are there. And that can be problematic.

It is the polite thing to do in business as well, however, it doesn't always happen.
I've never heard of this happening in business. A letter, yes, but that doesn't always happen, either. When I used to put an ad in the Washington Post I'd receive at least 300 resumes for a single position. At least one-third would be unqualified. Then we'd have to whittle it down to determine which candidates we'd invite for interviews. It wasn't an easy task. I don't like to leave people hanging, but I didn't have the staff to even send rejection letters.
-

That is a problem. I was think more about guest leaving doors open or doing other dangerous things.

I'll never forget the woman who called me, DEMANDING to know why she wasn't hired. I tried to stay calm and explained to her that we had three well-qualified candidates and she was one of them, but only one opening. She seemed to accept that. But when I got off the phone I was soooooo glad we hadn't chosen her! She was so presumptuous! As if she knew what we needed based on a few words in an ad! It's so much more complicated than that! We needed someone who would get along with the rest of the group, for one thing. And the corporate culture. She wouldn't have worked out at all. It wasn't just me who wouldn't be able to abide her--my bosses wouldn't have, either.
-
I used to have a friend who was a career counselor. She was quite good at it in some ways. But she'd sometimes advise people to do things that were quite inappropriate, IMO. My friend had never worked in the corporate world and simply didn't understand how it worked. For instance, I think she might have suggested to someone that they call and ask why they weren't hired. (Not calling to ask if the position had been filled.)
-
As I write this, I’m sitting at a table with a tablecloth showing birds outside of their cage. There’s a lock to J.B.’s cage. Guests are warned to proceed at their own risk.
-
What is a lick to the cage?
-
DR TCB will you be doing the play with Jed?

Back from a late lunch meeting. I ate and feel okay.

I had heard (was told?) that you can ask what suggestions the interviewers might have for you to give a better interview...assuming that it wasn't just the lack of qualifications that made them not hire you.

And now for something completely different...I just found a 2011 music catalog buried under a pile of papers. ::)

Oh, dear, the delusional morons are out on Facebook, with yet another thread about the Cinerama Dome, which pop up with shocking regularity. And then you get the idiots who say they saw 2001 there during the original run (it did not play there) and even worse the idiots who say they saw the original run of How the West Was Won there. a) that would not have been possible since the Dome wasn't built when that film opened, b) the Dome was never equipped to show three projector Cinerama until the 2000s, c) the first film to play there was Mad World and it played there for sixty-seven WEEKS, so no, Mr. Idiot, you did not see it there. But this guy doubles down on it, won't admit he's wrong, so I then, of course, post photos of it playing at the Warner Cinerama and even include the original premiere tonight ad, and still he will not admit he's wrong.
