Well, you've read the notes, the notes had blurbs and covers, and now it is time for you to post until the blurbed and covered cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CORRIGIBLE!
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR TCB, I hope you and Nicky are okay.
-
DR Jeanne, best of luck with your taxes. I hjope your new tax man treats you well.
-
I slept rather badly, but little Thatch was extremely affectionate last night and gave me lots of kisses and love bites when I returned from one of way too many bathroom treks. Annabelle ate quite a lot this morning, but she's still sneezing, only not with the force or frequency that alarmed me on Monday. I thought I heard Stella sneeze this morning, but she's showing no signs of a cold.
-
This morning I will go into City Center to proofread a transposition for Love Life. Joshie likes me to look over transpositions for curious accidentals (e.g., C-double sharp) or strange looking detritus Finake has left behind.
-
I watched the first 90 minutes of the debate before deciding it was time to go to bed. There was too much chaos.
-
I west to sleep fairly quickly lastra night but then woke up before 4:00.
-
For I hope the desk lamp works well. A photo if you keep it please.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Welcome home DR Jan. Your trip sounds good to me. I would have especially enjoyed the sunny warm temps and the cats.
-
Morning John. I am going to shut my eyes and with luck even sleep a little more.
-
Kitty cleanup is over. I still have to make the bed and get some breakfast before I leave. I also need to call the surgewon this afternoon and set the date for the surgery.
-
DR Jan, welcome back to us!
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR Elmore, you are doing the Lord’s work in checking over and cleaning up that transposition. Sainthood is not out of the question. Unchecked/unedited transpositions stinketh the most.
-
My friend whose two revues I’ve been playing uses an old free, long un-updated and unsupported program called Encore. If I were to be compensated for the hours spent correcting just the sins that I, myself, can readily identify, I’d be a rich man. That experience has been the primary inspiration for my own determination to become reasonably proficient at Finale. (And boy, do I still have a long way to go.)
-
Congrats to BK on the book cover design and the blurb!
-
That was a lovelier than lovely blurbilicious blurb.
-
Bruce I like the book cover.
-
At the dentist. It promises to be a long one.
-
Great blurb, BK
-
DR Jan, welcome back to us!
Indeed. Welcome back, jan! You’ve been missed.
-
I’m feeling scattershot today. Bouncing around like crazy.
-
I did get the one pressing bit of work done I needed to before leaving.
-
JB was needy this morning. Maybe because it’s so cold.
-
It’s 39, but the wind is strong and cold.
-
I am really surprised that I slept through the night. And that it didn't hurt at all. I slept on my back or on my left shoulder/side (right shoulder is the one that got whacked). It doesn't feel good to lift/carry anything. But otherwise I think that I got very lucky.
-
We are supposed to be getting another snow storm tonight/tomorrow. I am done with winter. It was so warm earlier this week 8C/46F/sunny and honestly that felt like summer to me. I just wore a t-shirt and had my jacket open.
-
Page Two.
-
Wasn't the Hindenburg a corrigible?
-
Page Number Vibes for MR BK.
The cover and blurbs are terrific!
-
Proofing vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Today is my birthday....I am 69 1/2 years old today.
-
The snow did not start until about 7:30 a.m. this morning but it is coming down pretty steady now.....ugh.
-
I wonder if DR GEORGE is using his new desk to work standing up yet?
-
Oh my, DR Jrand69, you are solidly in snow. Looks like DR Ginny is getting some now, too.
We are being blessed with none of it, I'm happy to say. In fact, this is the nicest (read: least snowy) February I've known in my thirty years here. There might have been one just as good some years back, but it was a long time ago.
-
Wednesday morning greetings!
Oh my, DR Jrand69, you are solidly in snow. Looks like DR Ginny is getting some now, too.
...
Yes, DR ChasSmith, we're getting a sloppy mix of precipitation that can't make up its mind to be rain or snow. Perfect for my 1pm appointment with the orthopedist...
-
Richard just pointed out that it's raining in our backyard and snowing in the front.
-
Fantastic! :)
-
This is for DR Laura, even though it's not one of our typical carpet samples. But I do think we should all have our "affairs" in this room.

Next HHW get-together?
-

That is very good. Pain in my right shoulder still can wake me up.
Continued healing vibes!

No.
-
Melting vibes for JRAND.
-
The dentist did his magic faster than ever. I was only there for a little more than an hour
-
DR CHAS SMITH the only things missing from that photo are Steve & Eydie......
-
Snow is sticking to the grass but not the roads and driveways, so we are pretty fortunate.....still falling though.
-
I watched the movie IF.... last night. I hadn't seen it in about 50 years.....but the ending was more shocking this time around.....for various reasons.
-
Snow is sticking to the grass but not the roads and driveways, so we are pretty fortunate.....still falling though.
It's always such a lovely surprise when that happens.
-
For I hope the desk lamp works well. A photo if you keep it please.
Thanks, Jane! I'll take a picture as soon as I set it up.
-
DR Elmore, you are doing the Lord’s work in checking over and cleaning up that transposition. Sainthood is not out of the question. Unchecked/unedited transpositions stinketh the most.
Amen, brother! :))
-
Today is my birthday....I am 69 1/2 years old today.
Happy Half-Birthday, Jrand! Hope you have half a great day!
;)
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
Nothing from Grant yet.
-

It's actually pretty good right now. It just doesn't feel great with anything tight against it (clothes).
-
I wonder if DR GEORGE is using his new desk to work standing up yet?
I haven't needed to, yet. I'll see what it's like to raise the table with the lamp attached because there's a little table right behind my desk and the lamp clamp has to fit in between the two, so I'll need to pull out the little table a bit to make room for the clamp.
-
Richard just pointed out that it's raining in our backyard and snowing in the front.
:o

Good news, John!

3hree!!!

LOL! The key went up a half step and those saxes were playing nothing but B- and E-sharps and everything else double-sharped. I look forward to hearing it on Friday.
-
And I'm home! I've left Dr Aronoff a message this morning and another just now, so hoppefully I will hear from him before too long.
-
Clive Cussler has died. I remember reading Raise the Titanic back in 7th or 8th grade.
-
The dentist did his magic faster than ever. I was only there for a little more than an hour
An hour is still too long ;)

Not bad.

Do you have a bruise?
-
Clive Cussler has died. I remember reading Raise the Titanic back in 7th or 8th grade.
Oh, no. I know several fans of his, here at work.
-
Because of the extremely red, irritated eye issue I have been dealing with for too long I moved my yearly eye check-up a few months early. I should have gone to the doctor for the problem 6 months ago. She is calling in a prescription for steroid drops.
-
I had all sorts of fun tests today which included very bright lights flashed into my eyes after they were dilated. I am having trouble focusing right now.
-
I wonder how DR GINNY's appointment went today?
-
My hat is off to the chefs on HHW. I can't make an egg to save my life......
-
That part would be the chicken's responsibility anyway, DR Jrand69.
-
Two teenagers were killed and another seriously injured when their car left the road this morning in northern Indiana......I just looked at the police video.....that car must have been going VERY fast....I didn't even see it in the tree until I watched the video a second time.
https://fox59.com/news/2-high-school-students-killed-1-injured-in-tippecanoe-county-crash/
-
Well....that's true DR CHAS SMITH....their part of the mission was handled flawlessly.....
-
I wonder how DR GINNY's appointment went today?
It went fine, DR JRand, thanks for asking. I’m kind of in charge of my own treatment for now. He said I can be out of the boot as tolerated, but not to go “cold turkey.” He also recommended orthotic inserts for my shoes and I have a prescription for physical therapy. After about 6 weeks (from now), if there’s not significant improvement, the next step is an MRI.
-
My surgery is tentatively scheduled for March 23, and tomorrow I am seeing a urologist that Dr Aronoff has consulted about the kidney issue. This may turn into a tag team surgery.
-
DR Elmore, are you up to a phone call this evening?
-
That part would be the chicken's responsibility anyway, DR Jrand69.
;D

I have had issues with orthotics and recommend, if possible, what you purchase has a money back guarantee. I practically live in my Saucony running shoes that are designed for people who pronate. Hopefully your orthotics & PT will make a big difference. Oh, ask if you need to go up a shoe size for the orthotics.

I wondered about this is. It sounds like Dr Aronoff if doing everything right.

How about this weekend?
-

That would work! I have nothing on the calendar, so you tell me when you’d like a call.
-
DR Jane, thanks for the orthotic insights. I’m not rushing into anything.
-
I have rushed headlong into Sanditon. Am on episode 3 of 8. Binge-watching in full swing.
-
Everything on my to-watch list is long. Very long.
Until the End of the World is close to 5 hours.
The Chinese Long Day's Journey into Night is 3 hours.
Roma is 2.5 hours.
And the Dolemite double feature I have (Disco Godfather and The Human Tornado) is about 3 hours in all.
-
I'm on episode six of Hunters, which I'm determined to finish just to see how low this show can sink. I have lost ALL respect for Jordan Peele after this travesty - maybe he exec produced for the money, allowing Amazon to buy his name, but shame on him. This show just jumped the shark six times in fifteen minutes. I have NEVER seen anything this bad in my life and I highly recommend watching it if a) you can stomach the stupid and sickening violence, and b) want to see just how bad a show can be.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I stopped at Whole Foods Market today to stock up on what I could. There was a Japanese woman in line in front of me. She didn't have that many items in her cart, but her bill was $131! I'm still trying to figure out how she spent so much. She didn't seem surprised.
-
Very nice blurb, Bruce.
-
DR Jeanne, best of luck with your taxes. I hjope your new tax man treats you well.
Thank you. Between the changes to the tax laws and now taking the RMD from my IRA I'm having to rethink some things. Just having someone who's happy to explain things helps.
-
I watched the first 90 minutes of the debate before deciding it was time to go to bed. There was too much chaos.
I find them too contentious. I may be a minority of one, but I don't feel this approach puts the candidates in a good light or is particularly helpful. The DNC and I don't think alike at all!
-
At the dentist. It promises to be a long one.
Root canal? Crown? Implant?
-

It was a chipped tooth.

Laundry almost done.

Very good! Vibes for minimal discomfort.

Not so bad compared to other procedures. You didn't need a shot, right?

Because of the extremely red, irritated eye issue I have been dealing with for too long I moved my yearly eye check-up a few months early. I should have gone to the doctor for the problem 6 months ago. She is calling in a prescription for steroid drops.
I had to use steroid eye drops before and after the cataract surgery. I had headaches for three months after the surgery, which I attribute to the drops. I know you are sensitive to things, as I am, so be careful. Hopefully, they won't bother you.
-
I picked up my eye drops at the pharmacy and was told my insurance didn't cover them. I took them anyway. As I was walking away I received a text saying the pharmacy was going to contact my doctor about getting the script authorized & did I want to optout of them.
Even if I had received the text, or the information, before I paid for them I think I still would have paid the full price. I really am tired of my eyes constantly hurting and being red.
-
That part would be the chicken's responsibility anyway, DR Jrand69.

Very nice cover and lovely blurb BK
-
Also lovely cover and very nice blurb
-
DR Elmore, are you up to a phone call this evening?
How about this weekend?
That would work! I have nothing on the calendar, so you tell me when you’d like a call.
Maybe Saturday, late afternoon? I was on my feet all day, and my legs ache so badly that once I lie down, I do not want to get up and move to the phone in pain for a social call.
-
I took and early lunch break today and went to the 11 am Ash Wednesday service at my church with my mom
-
When I got back I was told that everyone had decided to order out from the Domican place down the road
-
So. I decided to join in
-
I never had Dominican food before

DR Ginny, I've been wearing orthotics for almost ten years and have been very happy with mine. I know many people buy them, then never wear them, but I'm the opposite. Mine were custom-made by a podiatrist. I LOVED the first pair. My feet changed after several years and I had a new pair made, which I like, but don't love, but still would not want to be without them. Not all shoes take the orthotic equally well, though. Overall, for me they've been well worth the cost.

I had churrasco...which was flame broiled flank steak with chimichurri sauce

Sounds like a regular Costco run. ;)

Jane, if they do authorize it, can they refund the difference for this occurrence, even if it's after the fact?
-
I still have no idea what chimichurri sauce is , it looked like pickle relish but didn’t taste like it...
-
It came with white rice, sweet plantains and black beans in some kind of beefy broth
-
I still don’t know if I liked it
-
It was ok but I don’t think I would seek it out especially
-
At the dentist. It promises to be a long one.
Root canal? Crown? Implant?

Ouch.
-
However the flan de coco I had for dessert was outstanding
-
I still have half my lunch leftover
-
Except for the flan...that was consumed immediately and with great fervor

Yes, you'd think so, but some people aren't very good at that.

Halfway point in the Sanditon binge. Must go get dinner.

A priest a minister and a rabbit go to the blood bank

The priest says “I’m type A”

The minister says “I’m type B”

I would expect a couple carts worth at Costco for $131.

DR George, I have two clip-on lamps, USB-powered, that I bought at Amazon. I clip them onto my book when reading at night and they work very well. I liked the first one so much that I bought a second one in a different color. They do take a few hours to recharge, but otherwise they've been great. Hope your new lamp works out well for you.
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.

Jeanne do you know what your favorite orthotics were made from? A couple of years ago I almost purchased a pair made from cork. The podiatrist said they were the best, and since I have liked shoes with cork soles I considered trying them.

I think so as I did that once before. I will have to call the doctor's office tomorrow and ask.
-
That reminds me, I need to put a drop in each eye. It says 4 times a day for 5 days. Hmm, I had better confirm the number of days & keep track. I guess the last day will only be for half of the day.
-
The good news is prednisolone in my eyes feels ok.
-
I find it scary to put prednisolone into my eyes.

It's also too big to clip onto a book. It's definitely the kind of lamp that needs to be clipped onto a stationary object.

DR Jeanne, thanks for the info about your orthotic experiences.
-
Good evening.
-
Chas, that looks like the church fellowship hall after I have decorated it for a party.
-
Really.
-
Now we have the rip-off of the Cumberbatch Sherlock Holmes, where everything that's being explained is illustrated with graphics over the scene - the shamelessness is never-ending with this thing. Oh, and a little while ago we had a flashback story animated in anime style just like in Kill Bill.
-
Here's a picture of my new lamp, shining on a folder:
-
I tried taking pictures of the different lighting options, but you really can't tell a difference from the pictures. :-\
-
Here's another picture, and this shows the height difference between my desk setting and the table behind me:

This is as low as my desk can get:

And this is as high as it can get! ;D

Jane, both of my custom-made orthotics have several different-colored layers to them, then the top layer is leather. It's possible that the very thin layer is cork. Sorry I can't tell you more. I suspect that this is one of those things where the right fit is paramount. When I asked for a new pair that gave a little more support the orthotic became stiffer, and thus not quite as comfortable.
I used a ready-made orthotic for several years, recommended by my osteopath. Ready-mades are not expensive and the one I had was comfortable and helped me. There used to be a chain of stores that sell ready-mades in all sizes and contours. You can try them on before you buy them. That would be ideal. Don't know if that chain is still around. Don't recall the name, either.

And finally, here's the lamp staightened out (but it will never be used this way):

Yes. As soon as it's unplugged, it turns off.
-
And since I only got it to light up my desk area, it doesn't need batteries or a regular plug because it's not going anywhere. :)
-

Right. My little book lights, on the other hand, can go anywhere, and there's no cord to get in the way. They'd be great for travel. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I'm now sold on them. And yours makes sense, too.

I do have a couple of little book lights...one is specifically made for Kindles, but I haven't needed either of them in quite a while.

Jane, Dr Scholl's has an interesting system for orthotics:

And on that note (C-natural), I'm outta here. I'm going to get some cat food, then I'll head home.
Be back later.

I won't be able to finish Sanditon today. The last two episodes will have to wait until tomorrow.
-
I am enjoying it, but I will say that Andrew Davies has stolen liberally from himself, right down to our heroine spying our hero bathing, right out of his Pride and Prejudice.
-
Theo James as the hero is a well worth giving a nude scene to.
-
And with that, good night, all.

Last episode. I thought I was going to escape this series without actually screaming at the computer screen, but alas, episode nine got me and scream I did. So, will episode ten redeem everything with even more smart-ass BS, more speechifying, more characters behaving stupidly, more Alias antics, more Tarantino-bad dialogue. We await.

George thanks for all of the photos and satisfying my curiosity. Plus I can now imagine your workspace.

Jane, Dr Scholl's has an interesting system for orthotics:

Thanks. I believe I have tried these but will look again. As you mentioned in your previous post stiff can be an issue as I also need extra cushioning.

Drops are in my eyes and I expect I should close them to help them heal.

Good evening.

At the dentist. It promises to be a long one.
Root canal? Crown? Implant?
It was a chipped tooth.
Dental vibes to John G.

I never had Dominican food before
What the Hell is Dominican food?

A Chinese LONG DAYS JOURNEY? Why?

Speedy recovery vibes to Jennifer and Jeanne!

Jeanne do you know what your favorite orthotics were made from? A couple of years ago I almost purchased a pair made from cork. The podiatrist said they were the best, and since I have liked shoes with cork soles I considered trying them.
Is it The Good Feet Store?

Oh, my! I think I need to check this out. ;)
-
Hi, Tom.
-
We have those store in the Northwest, and they advertise that you try them first, and if they don’t work for you, don’t buy them.

My mom has flat feet, as does my sister. I told my mom about The Good Feet Store and she said that she'd check it out, but I don't think she did.

Tomorrow, my friend Margo and I are going to Seattle to see the matinee performance of Disney's Frozen at the Paramount Theatre!
-
I borrowed my niece's car because mine is older than hers, and mine needs to be serviced.
-
She also has a CD player in her car, although she said that the last CD that she played didn't eject easily, but that it eventually did.
-
I'm going to bring copies of a couple of my CDs so that if anything goes wrong, I won't lose the actual CDs.

Good night, George.

I think so! Hopefully, the player will work without any trouble, regardless.

Good night, Tom.
