Well, you've read the notes, the notes had all the latest cliches, and now it is time for you to post until the cliched cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RETRONYM!
-
I'm home and fed, my cat is fed, and I'm now able to watch some TV, so I shall.
-
And now I have. ;D
-
Today, I'm ushering for Mercury Rising- A Queen Tribute (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/20-03-12-mercury-rising/):
15 songs. 7 performers. 1 epic night.
Join Mercury Rising as we celebrate the music of one of the most epic rock bands of all time… QUEEN!
Mercury Rising is Olympia’s first Queen tribute bands. Comprised of stage veterans from around Thurston County, Mercury Rising will bring you to your feet with all of the anthems you know and love.
Don’t miss this one-time-only event!
-
I know a couple of people in the band, so it'll be fun seeing them perform, and to see the concert. But first, I'm going to sleep.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another lousy night of sleep.
-
I have a doctor's appointment at 10:30, and then I will stop at a drug store for cotton balls - I need them to clean out Annabelle's nose - befpre I head down to City Center. I will visit with Joshie for a bit and then meet a friend for lunch.
-
I also need to pick up some baby food. Annabelle will not eat her food containing a crushed antiviral pill, so I'm going to see if I can get her to take a pill in Gerber's chicken or beef.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I used to housesit for a family with five cats. I think the cats had to take pills only when they went on vacation. Getting the critters medicated was never fun.
-
Another lousy night of sleep.
Tell me.

I’ve been reading a poetry collection before bedtime lately. Supposed to destress one, right? I think it’s doing the opposite for me. It’s causing stressful dreams about trying to get permission from all the poets.
-
Kitty cleanup accomplished and meds taken. I need to make the bed and finish dressing.
-
Good morning!
-
Vibes for Stella....and DR ELMORE.
-
I think everyone who watches ME TV is a retronym.
-
My sister and I are going to Aldi today at noon.....I do not know what it will be like.
-
DePauw University has indeed cancelled classes for the rest of the year.....which is about nine weeks of classes......
-
Good morning, all.
-
I am meeting with my niece and her fiance to go over their wedding ceremony requirements this evening.....it is happening April 11.
After I get all the info, I will work on ceremony and then meet with them again to make sure it is what they want.....
-
Today is Jon Provost's birthday.

I decided that I will name that picture of DR VIXMOM:

Tonight my director friend and I are having our monthly dinner meeting. I say monthly, but this is the first one since last July. Since then we've done three consecutive shows together. The paradox is that once we're into the routine of a show, we literally are unable to find time to talk, except in brief spurts at a rehearsal or performance. This should be enjoyable, more as an opportunity to decompress from those shows and catch up on all manner of things, than to strategize over future shows. Our corner of the world is in too great an upheaval for us to be making a lot of plans.
-
The announcement from DePauw is more specific.
In-person classes will be suspended after the end of the day Friday and throughout next week as DePauw University seeks to mitigate effects of the coronavirus.
Spring break will occur as scheduled, March 23-27, and beginning March 30, students will complete the spring term via e-learning.
-
The Coronavirus crisis panic we are now experiencing is reminiscent of what happened when Orson Welles did his radio broadcast of THE WAR OF THE WORLDS.
-
Thursday afternoon greetings! We got out early (for us) in order to get groceries and be home in time for Michigan’s game in the Big Ten tournament. We were putting away our purchases and listening to the pregame when the announcement was made that the tournament has been cancelled.
“Go, Blue” in this case meant: leave the court and head back to Ann Arbor.
-
Too many meetings this morning.

Now, if you were a Sondhead, this would have read, "Too many mornings this meeting."

I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep. It's raining out.

Broadway (shows) have been shut down for a month. I wonder how all this would be playing out if you take Facebook and Twitter out of the equation.

Good vibes it works!

I used to housesit for a family with five cats. I think the cats had to take pills only when they went on vacation. Getting the critters medicated was never fun.
I used to be an expert at scooping cats between my legs & quickly throwing a pill down them. I was much more agile then.
-
ATP tennis matches have also been canceled.
-
...and the NHL has suspended its season as well....
-
Really raining. I'm thinking about not going to the mail place until it stops.
-
Too many meetings this morning.
Now, if you were a Sondhead, this would have read, "Too many mornings this meeting."
Too many meetings wasted and pretending I care for this?
How many meetings are there still to come?
How much time, when I really have to pee?
Not much time, but it’s way too much for me

My doctor's appointment went on for hours. We had a list of things to cover for the surgery, so I had to have blood drawn, along with an EKG. I just made it to my lunch date on time. I did not get to visit with Joshie.
-
I wonder what will become of Love Life? I was looking forward to it.

Per governor’s orders, all Ohio schools are closing for 3 weeks.
-
I could have gone my whole life without knowing the name of Ohio’s public health director (Dr. Amy Acton), but she seems to know her stuff.
-
Apparently, as of today, panic and hysteria have won. Markets are apparently insane (Gelson's yesterday was fine) - with people literally buying anything that's on a shelf. Ralph's is a madhouse, I've heard. People will never even use half the canned goods they're stockpiling, if ever half because this thing will abate within the next month or so. I'm glad I'm in for the day because if I saw this happening I would not be quiet about it.
-
Indianapolis Public Schools are closed until mid-April.....I would guess many other schools in the state will follow the lead.
The FREE breakfasts & lunches will still be available.
Disneyland in Anaheim is closed.
-
Rainbegone vibes for MR BK.
-
So the April production of Privates Lives at DePauw will not be presented.....

That's more than our president!

Yeah, she’s an MD with a Master’s in public health.

One package at the mail place but I know what it is so I can get it tomorrow and stay out of the rain. I may go out later tonight for some soda purchases, as I'm running low and hopefully the crazies will be in bed by then.

Hello, everyone.
-
I'm running low on paper towels and had planned to go to Ralph's today, maybe followed by a trip to Whole Foods Market, but it poured for hours. It's stopped now, but who wants to fight rush-hour traffic? I was doing some online shopping and thought about buying the paper towels from them, but they're completely sold out. The website had a notice about expecting delays and shortages.
-
Even without getting sick the coronavirus is a real inconvenience. I am fortunate I don't need to go to work or school and my time is fairly flexible.

Aldi report, Jrand?

I'd done "Too many morons." JohnG's is a lot classier.

I hope Keith's cousins are home from their visit there. To my surprise it did not seem less crowded to them.

Nooo, they need rain.

We have paper towels in our markets. I hope you won't have a problem getting them once you can venture out.
-
I have not stocked up on canned goods, just have the normal amount. I had to pick up a new eye prescription (doctor is still trying to clear up my inflamed eye problem) and decided to get an extra bottle each of laundry detergent & softner. I like All & Mighty condensed detergent & then are often out of it. Safeway didn't have it when Keith stopped there yesterday. Not only did they have tons at Fred Meyer it was on sale.
I may run out of food but I will be able to do laundry ;)

I wonder what will become of Love Life? I was looking forward to it.
Maybe they should do "Love Life" as Jack's final show, which would be classy
-
- and let "Millie" be done directly on Broadway - unless they can do "Love Life" next year, after Jack - so I can see it without vomiting. If it's somehow done this year after all, I'll see it, but bring a barf bag in case I see Jack.
I really enjoyed "Millie" but then 2002 was a pretty non-P.C. era and we were immune to it, but a 21st century hit? Written by the summer encores artistic director?
-
But it still hits me that updating now-"non-P.C." shows could make a nice series. It's just that one screams tryout for Broadway.

We got paper towels easily, but needed to stock up just in case since that's the best pooper-scooper.

Surprisingly, bottled flavored water (like the Zero Gatorade) seems to be in short supply, and where I found it online, it's gone up in price.

The Parent Trap
-
I love Brian Keith.
Aside from The Parent Trap...
The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming!
The Wind and the Lion
-
Maureen O'Hara
Aside from The Parent Trap
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
How Green Was My Valley
Miracle on 34th Street
The Quiet Man
-
Brian Keith was always a favorite, from Parent Trap on. So natural and funny. His dad was also a terrific actor - Robert Keith.
-
I just started a Robert Keith movie.
-
It's Battle Circus, an early MASH story with Humphrey Bogart, June Allyson and Keenan Wynn billed over Robert.
-
I will second all of the Brian Keith movies mentioned and add "The Yakuza."
-
To list of O'Hara films, I'll add "This Land Is Mine" and "Sitting Pretty"
-
What is this page 3 malarkey?
-
That's yekralam spelled backwards.
-
Whatever.
-
It was a post.
-
Four!
-
What is this page four malarkey?
-
I saw "With Six You Get Eggroll" on a double bill with Elvis in "Clambake." I may only have been 10 or 11 years old, but between watching Brian Keith and then Elvis, whatever youthful crush I'd had on Donny Osmond (which would have not ended well anyway) pretty much grew up. Brian Keith never seemed like a hottie type on TV, but with Doris Day, there were sparks even with all those kids around.
-
Battle Circus is a pretty effective if fairly inconsequential war movie. Bogart is better without June Allyson.
-
I think everyone but Dick Powell was better without June Allyson.
-
Good night, all.
-
Maybe some dear readers think they can catch this from posting. Nothing would surprise me anymore.
-
Finished with my viewing. Listening to music and tempted to drive over to Ralph's to see what the insanity of this day has left them. All I need is some Diet drinks and I think the supply there will be just fine.
-

I've heard a rumor that you can catch hell from not posting. The President says there's no scientific proof of that, though.

Back from my last trip to Manhattan for a while, I’m afraid
-
I met some friends downtown and we had dinner at Katz Delicatessen,
-
Then we had dessert at Leewens ice cream shop
-
Then we went to the Mercury Lounge to see a band.
-
They were supposed to be the early show, playing ay 7 and the opening act was supposed to start at 6:30
-
But the late act was cancelled
-
So the opening act played until about 6:30 then the band we came to see cane on at 8 and played until 9:30
-
There were only about 60 of us in the place
-
Afterwards my friends and I hung around the bar chatting and then ended up chatting with the band members about what all the cancellations are going to do
-
I listened to the Mayors speech on my way into the city
-
I couldn’t believe they just shut down Broadway
-
They (the mayor and governor were doing a joint press conference)said all groups of over 500 cancelled.
-
Venues that have smaller capacities are being instructed to cut their capacity in half to allow for (one of BKs favorite new terms) social distancing
-
Vixdad is a NYC employee, he is waiting to hear if he will be instructed to work from home
-
My sister-in-law (well one of them) is a NYC schoolteacher...the schools are remaining open
-
I came home to an email from my church about changes being instituted
-
No physical passing of the peace
-
No passing of the offering plates
-
Ambulatory communion
-
Wine is still going to be offered but it is being stressed that taking only the bread is acceptable
-
The preschool is being closed
-
The social groups for our elderly are being cancelled
-
The homeless shelter is being closed
-
I have to find out what is being done about the soup kitchen
-
Maybe some dear readers think they can catch this from posting. Nothing would surprise me anymore.

Well, Ralph's did not disappoint. NO shopping carts available. People with two and three carts loaded to the brim, emptying shelves of everything in sight because they are morons. Some must have been spending six or seven hundred dollars. I spent thirteen dollars. I was also wrong about Diet Coke - plenty of everything else but only about eight twelve-packs left, probably because it was on sale at a great price. Three for 9.99. I lugged the three to the checkout - lines were not horrible because every station was open and I managed to find one with only two people ahead of me who were clearly not stockpiling - so in and out in about twelve minutes. The insanity is palpable with the Earth people.

Is he able to do that?

My friend said her daughter was instructed to work from home.
-
DR Vixmom I am glad you enjoyed your NYC outing with your friend.

The theater is asking if we would be willing to postpone the opening of our show by one week.
-
That would mean we would open on April 17, instead of April 10.
-
I really don’t understand what that would accomplish.
-
From what they told me, they expect the crisis to be over by then.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I don’t understand that, but what do I know. I have no life.
-
Hello, George.
-
Sorry about the Queen tribute.
-
Hopefully you are still available when they reschedule.

So, I was going to run the light board for The Bold The Young and The Murdered at Olympia Little Theatre and their final tech week was just going to start this Sunday.
-
A little earlier tonight, I got an e-mail from the director saying that the whole production was being postponed until next season. :o

The theater is going to be dark for the next month or so. :-\

Oh, no! Why?
-
Also, the Washington Center has announced several other cancellations...one was for this Saturday, Harmony Sweepstakes, the a cappella competition. I loved working for that. A LOT of good singing groups have performed over the years...and some not so good. ::)
;)
-
I’m thinking that our show may get postponed, but longer than a week.

Bruce, I wish you would explain to me what the death of almost 5,000 people worldwide has to do with Facebook?
What has to do with Facebook is HYSTERIA. PANIC. People going nuts. There were MANY more than 5,000 deaths with the swine flu - like 70,000 more, worldwide - I don't recall even knowing about it let alone any panic and hysteria and crazy town that is happening strictly because of social media. That is what it has to do with Facebook.
