Well, you're read the notes, the notes were right twice a day, and now it is time for you to post until the right twice a day cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: WEAL!
-
So...this happened! I went downstairs to close my back door, and I found this little creature in my downstairs bathroom! I ran upstairs and got my phone to take a picture but it moved to a pile of keychains out in the hall:
-
And look what one of the keychains is! ;D
-
I was able to safely catch the thing in a glass and put it outside in the grass:
-
That's the first time that that's ever happened...well, as far as I know. ::)
-
Geerge, that's some story to start the day.
Or end your yesterday?
-
Good morning, all!
-
I did not sleep poorly, just not very well. The stupidest thing I did last year was cancel that sinus surgery because of my leg issues. I am a bit worried about how much, if any, aggravation this respiratory issue will affect the surgery, which is two weeks from today.
-
My dad has been asking me to try to get to Florida to heliport with some stuff while he's still mobile and can't places with their helper, but as far as I can tell, they still have some staying-in-place rules for New York visitors. I feel pretty sure he understands the Covid situation nationally and why NY was harder hit... -
-
But Im getting the feeling no one I know who lives in Florida actually "feels" the extent of the NYC issue of people putting off any matters unrelated to Covid
-
This morning I have several physician issues to deal with: I need to call Dr Aronoff and see if my HMO has cleared the surgery; I need to email my podiatrist with an inquiry; and I need to call my HMO with a copay issue.
-
- Dad's daytime helper from the Holocaust-survivor-help group mentioned that that while Miami-Dade has/had the various rules and masks and distance, they never really had the degree of shortage of hospital beds that ended up making senior citizens with other health issues not be able to seek treatment.
-
The medical center my folks use, which happens to mainly be used by people who have medicare, was keeping itself very "virus-free" and clean , and unlike NY was only discouraging patients from going in for other things for a very short time.
-
I'm surveying the risks involved. One of the hotels I've stayed at before seem to have nice comments about it shandkling the virus time so far.
-
And I have an Amazon issue this morning as well: a $19.55 charge on my debit card and gave no idea what the hell it's for.
-
Good morning to all
-
It seems SE Florida is returning to the way things were before the shutdown.
-
I’ve been recalled to work and start tomorrow. We open to the public on Friday with a 50% off sale. It will be crazy but I hope safe
-
No sleep last night, but I did get to spend a great deal of time studying the ceiling in the dark!
-
And look what one of the keychains is! ;D
What is one of the keychains?
-
I was able to safely catch the thing in a glass and put it outside in the grass:
Is that a frog? Or is that a keychain?
-
Well, no one to answer my burning questions. I suppose I can go back to studying the ceiling.
-
I was trying out my laptop to see if I want to use it for the zoom rehearsal on Tuesday night.
-
Except, when I click on the camera, it tells me I don't have a camera.
-
Why would it list a camera, if I don't have one?
-
I wonder if I can buy a camera to attach to my desktop computer? God! I get more stupid every day!
-
6:00 a.m. I should wake up soon.
-
I guess I should get us off of page one.
-
Us? I am the only one here.
-
Page two!
-
Have a good day, one and all.
-
Congrats to MR BK on 105,000 posts!
-
DR TCB sometimes you have to go into settings and activate your camera......if you still have your instructions they should help you....or put your laptop model in Google followed by activate camera and you'll get instructions.

Monday, May 18
WEAL it's been a long day, been a long, been a long, been a long day.....
-
Rainy today again.
I have nothing to add to the TOD.
-
I did watch the SJ FORUM - and it was pretty funny..... Sometimes I wish we could hear more of the audience response.....
-
Good morning, all.
-
Congratulations, BK, on the milestone.
-
If you go to YouTube and search on AMTSJ, you can find a list of their shows that are posted in their entirety. There were a few I haven’t seen, like The Three Musketeers.
-
Good luck with going back to work, Michael.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Monday.
Need I say more?
-
Good to hear that BK liked Brides of Dracula. I had never seen it until that theatrical showing some years back. I'd like to watch it and a couple of other cherce Hammers again. Soon.
-
I didn't know anything about Edge of Tomorrow. Hearing the title only ever made me think someone was talking about that soap opera which, of course, was Edge of Night. Will have to seek this one out, too.
-
I have a love/hate relationship with serial killer / serial torture movies. Okay, it's mostly love, because I love thrillers in general and I don't have a weak stomach when it comes to movies. But there have been a few in this genre that I found terrifically unsettling and that I wasn't ready to return to for a long while. Seven got to me in that way when I first watched it, which was probably a couple of years after it was released. I never saw it at a theater, and I'm thinking my first shot at it might have been on cable. I do have the Blu-ray now.
The one with Denzel and Jolie did that to me. What was it called? Why don't I just look it up? Ah yes, The Bone Collector. There's another one, too, that I'm so vague on I'll have to do a little sleuthing to identify it.
Hell, Silence of the Lambs, which I saw in its first week, affected me that way at first... and it's one of my favorite films. I'm past that now, but for a while whenever I'd return to it, it was with a slight feeling of dread.
Go figure. Because in general, I can watch anything.
-
There are so many things to watch online that I sometimes feel my schedule is as busy as ever. I've got the Ravinia production of Bernstein's Mass open on one tab, DR Elmore's San Jose recommendations on another, and several local theaters and individual friends have been putting up little things that are sometimes good. I blew watching the Grand Hotel at 54 Below yesterday, and there's no forgiveness for that because they made that a one-shot deal. Fortunately, these other things are out there for a while.
-
As for the Bernstein thing, Mass is hardly a favorite piece, but a glance at this Ravinia production makes it look highly watchable and listenable.
I went crazy over it back in '72 when I first bought the record in Cleveland, and in '73 when I saw that first production by Gordon Davidson at the Mark Taper. At some point in there I bought the vocal score, and I want to say I got it at de Keyser Music on Hollywood Blvd. Either that, or I'd found it at Willis Music in Cleveland or ordered it from Patelson before moving to California. But I'm pretty sure it was in my first Hollywood days. (Yes, I sometimes agonize over questions like that - where did I buy this thing?? - just because.)
-
But this will be just about my first time hearing it in just about all of those years. Both the recording and score have remained on their respective shelves since the 1970s, and I don't recall watching or listening to anyone else's performances. So I'll watch this one, and probably put it away again.
-
Okay, enough. Enough, I say! Enough of my drivel.
I need to get busy on some things here and make something of this Monday.
-
Lord, Im on my way to a heavenly land - well, WEAL see if I get to Miami - and no safety net if I don't make the flight, there is just one flight on this airline!
-
I'm going masked, of course (weekend In the country reverence)
-
I have like. week of HHW posts to catch up on!!!
-
I go with clean hands. (I just washed them again)
-
Travel vibes, Freddie.
-
Barre class today was not particularly strenuous, but I feel exhausted.
It’s a virtual class they’ve been offering at work.
-
Florida travel vibes for DR FREDDIE.
-
DR JohnG, how did you like Follies from San Jose?
-
DR ChasSmith, Seven really creeped me out, and I'm not sure I'd want to watch it again.
-
I've heard from my podiatrist, and I have an appointment for 10:45 tomorrow morning.
-
DR JohnG, how did you like Follies from San Jose?
I have been a Harvey Evans fan for forever. Saw him in Barnum, and he was wonderful. His Buddy was heartbreaking at times, especially in the scene where he finally tells Sally off. Jane Summerhays was a great Phyllis. The staging seems to have been the closest to photos from the original I’ve ever seen.
-
Three!
-
I'm up, I'm up - since eleven - seven hours of sleep. Forgot I had to schedule Zoom rehearsals for the trio we're doing, so got that done.
-
And just trying to schedule a fourth Zoom for the lead vocal in the group number.
-
And it's raining. I really don't get this over ninety degrees to rain in twenty-four hours.
-
Eddie Haskell, a.k.a. Ken Osmond, has died at 76.
-
So...this happened! I went downstairs to close my back door, and I found this little creature in my downstairs bathroom! I ran upstairs and got my phone to take a picture but it moved to a pile of keychains out in the hall:
Awww :)
-
And look what one of the keychains is! ;D
I can't tell. If I sent you a frog keychain from Costa Rica that would have been perfect.
-
I was able to safely catch the thing in a glass and put it outside in the grass:
Good catch.
-
That's the first time that that's ever happened...well, as far as I know. ::)
Hopefully.
-
But Im getting the feeling no one I know who lives in Florida actually "feels" the extent of the NYC issue of people putting off any matters unrelated to Covid
Looking at news this doesn't surprise me.

Fingers crossed for you.

Except, when I click on the camera, it tells me I don't have a camera.

Good. I gather the flight is short enough that you won't need to eat on it.
-
Florida travel vibes for DR FREDDIE.
DITTO!
-
At the age of 78 Ken Osmond has passed away. His family was with him.
-
One Zoom meeting done and I guess I'll make some food before the next one. Or maybe I won't. Maybe I'll go pick up packages instead and eat later.
-
Didn't make food, which means I won't eat until around five. Didn't go to the mail place because there's some DHL package coming that of course hasn't come yet. Typical DHL. I'll go over there around five.
-
There is this curious phenomenon when I do my night drives - Ventura Blvd at Van Nuys Blvd. looking west. Every parking place is take - every single one. And yet, no businesses or restaurants are open (I usually drive between nine and eleven) - this is every single night. Where exactly are those people?
-
That is a strange phenomenon MR BK.
-
It is 6 p.m. here and the garbage man hasn't come yet to empty my container.......
-
He is usually here between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.
-
While I was taking my bath, I had a huge panic attack. I had just had a FB message asking if the surgery was still on for June 1, andf I stupidly asked Annabelle, will you remember me when I'm dead? Bad move. I lost it.
I hope I have no more between now and the surgery.
-
Annabelle has been hanging out all day in the bathroom waste basket. She can't lie down so she sits there with her head sticking out of the basket. While I was bathing, Stella kept trying to climb in with her.
-
Just now Dr Aronoff's office called. I think they have the HMO clearance. Grace said she was calling in the morning and we talked about how impossible it is to reach a customer service person. I have to go to Aronoff's office on Thursday and pick up another prep kit.

I am glad he is giving you another free kit.

STAY CALM VIBES FOR DR ELMORE!
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
As soon as I sat down on the rocking chair on my front porch, the trash truck came rumbling down the street.
I waved to them as they emptied by container and said thanks and the girl on the back of the truck said: "Have a nice day!"
-
The diverter on my tub faucet is not working very well....a lot of water still goes into the tub and about 1/3 goes to the shower.
I put on my mask and walked down to my brother's house. He's going to come and look at it on Thursday......he would rather just replace the diverter rather than the whole faucet....but we shall see what we shall see.....on Thursday.
-
I think it would be fun to be able to just walk down the street to my brother's home.
-
Since I haven't been baking I didn't noticed Keith has practically finished the bottle of the good vanilla I use. I found some on Amazon and put it into our cart thinking Keith was about to place an order. I asked today and he said he didn't order it. Of course it is no longer available.
-
Vibes and hugs, Elmore.
-
Too long day at work. I had a meeting scheduled from 4:30 to 5 pm, which is rude because people are largely working 7 am to 4 pm. Well, this meeting went way over. I left at 5:30 and it was still going on.
-
I didn’t care if they needed me at that point.
-
I didn’t care if they needed me at that point.
;D Good luck there aren't any complaints tomorrow.
-
It seems like we are finally getting some sunny summer weather this week!
-
Shakespeare’s Globe has posted a new production of The Winter’s Tale, a play I haven’t seen since 1975. The actor playing Leontes is a walking embodiment of jealousy. We see it settle on him in the beginning, and it only makes him physically more eaten away with time.
-
I don’t remember a great deal, but I do remember the great stage direction from this play, “Exit pursued by a bear.”
-
All Zoom rehearsals are done, I've picked up packages, but NOT the DHL, which as of twelve minutes before closing time, still isn't there.
-
Then I made today's meal, faux chicken stroganoff.
-

You bought it in Hollywood in January 1973, dummy. It says so right there on the inside where you wrote it. (Ain’t written evidence wonderful?) :)
And it cost $15.00. Incredible.

If you like, maybe I could go down to the Caribbean and pick up some for you.

Still page four.

What is one of the keychains?
Just to the upper left of the frog is one of the Murder at the School Musical keychains that BK sent with the book. ;D

Hi, George.

All alone in this world.
Tom, No One Is Alone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITBjbdKetRE).

Well, no one to answer my burning questions. I suppose I can go back to studying the ceiling.
Did you learn anything new? Will there be a quiz??
-
Good luck with going back to work, Michael.

Yes I did. When the sun comes up, the ceiling doesn’t look the same!
-
But you can see more of it.
-
And that is my lesson for this day.
-
Good night, George.

So, I've been recording the VHS tapes from my parents and so far, I've gotten six, count 'em, SIX tapes! :D
-
I think four of them were the full two hours and one was a little less than an hour long and the other was just about an hour and a half.
-
I would just set up my DVD recorder to record, put in the tape and let it go. When I heard the VCR rewinding, I'd go up to my bedroom and stop the DVD recorder. Then, I would start the process again.
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
