Title: RESTLESS AND FIDGETY
Post by: bk on May 24, 2020, 12:04:48 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes were restless and fidgety, and now it is time for you to post until the restless and fidgety cows come home.

Last night, John posted a YouTube link to Feinstein's/54 Below's I WISH:The Roles That Could Have Been—HOME EDITION (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRcRsNmw7Kg).  I watched a bit of it and I really like the idea of their concert, but man, is the sound bad. :o A couple of times it was actually unpleasant.

The performers are all very good, but it seems like no one tested their equipment to find out how it would sound. :-\

DR George, at the time of that 1973 Sondheim: A Musical Tribute release on two LPs, the gossip was that Kurt Peterson, who was one of the producers, deliberately left off Len Cariou's songs because he had broken up Peterson's relationship with Victoria Mallory.

Yesterday while I was Lowe's buying my daisy and my bathtub spout, I was wearing my JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING T.D. from the first production I did back in 1993.....

As I was walking down the main aisle to Aisle 13 where internet said my faucet was waiting.

Suddenly one of the workers who was walking toward me said:  "Oh, hey that's a great show!"

I said, "Yes, it is.  I love it."

Then he said: "I played in the pit for it when I lived in the East.  Do you know who did it first?"

I said: "Bill Hutton was on Broadway......[no reaction]...but Donny Osmond also did it....."

"Right!" he said.....

I asked him: "Did you do the Megamix?"

He said: "The what?"

I said: "At the end, you practically do the whole show over in about 9 minutes....."

He said: "...??...."

I said: "Okay, have a good day!"

As I took the laundry to the basement, Stella darted out ahead of me.  I had my hands full with laundry and supplies, so I figured I would catch her when I got back.  I found her on two, and she ran from me to the first floor landing. I was only wearing my socks and they're too slippery for the stairs so I went back to the apartment to put on my shoes and Annabelle slipped past me into the hall.  I put on my shoes, caught Annabelle, put her back in the apartment, and went in search of Stella.  I found her on one, caught her, and brought her up, ready to brain two cats.

For several years we have been waiting for this friend to retire so we could take a cruise to the Galapagos.  I have known his wife since jr high and she was one of my brides maids.  We just cancelled the October trip.  I am more disappointed not to be traveling with our friends than the missing the trip.

Hopefully.  We did have the sort of ill fated trip with them to Crater Lake.  They were visiting us in Ashland and we booked reservations for the following year at the Crater Lake Lodge.  We made it to Crater Lake even though there was a big fire in the area.  Fortunately we only booked one night as sleeping with the windows open was impossible, as was sleeping in the heat with the windows closed and no air conditioning.

Yes.  All disappointments pale compared to not holding Freyja.  We just had a long video chat with her.  She was trying to reach out to us which was nice.  She is at the age where it would be good for her to begin to have exposure to other children, and other adults to hold her.

Big story today on the Governor of Arkansas, who pushed for reopening, saying that the virus spread at a pool party. I think there will just be many more such stories. And the governor of Virginia was out on the beach without a mask and posing for photos with folks.

Just because you want something over doesn't mean it's over.

The fruit plant that had to close near me attempted to make work conditions safe.  The CEO of the company said they took several steps to protect employees before the outbreak, including social distancing, temperature checks, providing masks to employees and offering expanded sick leave.  The CEO is now warning others the genie is not back in the bottle.  The health department is working with them to improve conditions with things like installing barriers between work stations, installing more hand washing stations, staggering work shifts and lunch/break schedules.

They tried and people still got sick.  Imagine when no effort is made.

I see where the governor stated "the rise in cases is due to "greater testing and tracing."  Wasn't that expected?  It also shows this isn't going away yet.  We need the number of new cases to go down, not up, with testing.

But I have never taken this website seriously. Oreos? Really?

Did you read how unhealthy they are?  I don't eat them because they use Palm Oil, the kind that comes from the rain forest and destroys habitats.

I am sure there are plenty of unhealthy foods sold at Costco, just as in any market.

We watched 2 more Abbott & Costello movies today:

LITTLE GIANT and THE TIME OF THEIR LIVES

Those are the 2 movies they did together where they weren't "a team".

Surprisingly, in those 2 films, Abbott shows that he was really a pretty good actor.

I don't like the website because their information is ancient. They still place everything on calories or fat content, when neither is a problem. Plus, they love low-fat dairy products, when a growing number of reports are showing that whole dairy is the only safe dairy product for you. But for them to pick a product like Oreos that you can get everywhere seems specious at best.

The thunder is still heavy and will likely remain for a couple more hours. There's a flash flood warning in effect until the morning. But the tornado warning seems to have ended. That whistle of the wind, like a train running through, is scary stuff.

I've been watching BALTHAZAR, a French crime show that I like. How do people come up with new ideas for crime shows when so many have been done already?

Interesting.   Maybe they picked Oreos to get people to read the story.

I received an ecard wherein none other than Dolly Parton sang Happy Birthday to me, mentioning my name, with back-up singers, and had my name in lights.

Available from Blue Mountain Arts.

Cameo.com also does that.

DR George, at the time of that 1973 Sondheim: A Musical Tribute release on two LPs, the gossip was that Kurt Peterson, who was one of the producers, deliberately left off Len Cariou's songs because he had broken up Peterson's relationship with Victoria Mallory.

Oh, my!  I've never heard any stories about any of that.

Cats are experts at escaping through doors.  Once I was an expert at preventing them from escaping.  I wonder if I am limber enough anymore.

A few times, Neve has run up or down my stairs very quickly.  And even though you can tell that she wants to go out the front door, she is always very hesitant when the door is open, so I don't have to try and catch her.  I can just very easily shut the door.

The other morning, when I woke up, the whole place was full of friends.  I apologized for oversleeping, and proceeded to get dressed.  By the time I got my shoes and socks on, all the guests had disappeared.  That is when I looked over at the clock and saw that it was 4:30 a.m.

The noisy next door idiots are having a party.  Looks like fifteen people or so including kids.  Not ONE person is wearing a mask and they're all very close to each other.

I am very frustrated with all the careless people out there.

Big story today on the Governor of Arkansas, who pushed for reopening, saying that the virus spread at a pool party. I think there will just be many more such stories. And the governor of Virginia was out on the beach without a mask and posing for photos with folks.

Just because you want something over doesn't mean it's over.

Darwin Award nominees. ::)
