Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the Evil Eye, and now it is time for you to post until the Evil Eye cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CAPRICIOUS!
-
Topic of the Day: going to work. Then, I won't have to feel so guilty about not doing anything at home that I should've done because I was home for two and a half months but I can't now because I have to go back to work. ::)
;)
-
And it is official...Biden formally clinches Democratic presidential nomination (https://my.xfinity.com/articles/news-general/20200606/US--Election-2020-Biden-8e37).
-
Today, I have no plans. It's essentially the calm before the storm (going back to work). ;)
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Today is June 6th.
Please take a moment to remember D-DAY.
1944
-
Good morning, all!
-
And don't forget, June 6, that the Nazis and Fascists our fathers fought in 1944 are now running our government. Vote the bastards out!
-
Those large new pillows have one disadvantage: after several hours on them, my leg muscles cramp terribly.
-
I did not sleep well last night. Annabelle faithfully stayed with me for the duration.
-
TOD
When/if things ever return to a semblance of normalcy, I want to work again!
-
And don't forget, June 6, that the Nazis and Fascists our fathers fought in 1944 are now running our government. Vote the bastards out!
You had to make it political?
:( :( :(
Truth hurts? Everything is political.
-
And, speaking of political, here's Sean Harding, the gay porn star, calling out the closet case Lindsey Graham and asking other male sex workers to speak up about Li'l Miss Lindsey's closeted hiring of them.

Pathetic. Here are some Trump supporters.

Stella has succeeded in reaching two rolls of toilet paper and shredding them this morning. I swear this cat flies.
-
After my breakfast, I will take the dustbuster to the bathroom.
-
Are the folks who live on that island called CAPRICIOUS?
-
I enjoyed reading MR BK's song discovery story in the posts yesterday.
-
Oh wait a minute......
-
HA! I had to go to read today's NOTES. I had forgotten.
Lovely notes!
-
I am looking forward to the show tomorrow evening -- if I can tear myself away from the GREASE sing a long on CBS.
-
TOD:
Attending and participating in LIVE THEATRE!!!
-
Vibes for your friend DR JOHN G......yes it is.....
-
DR ELMORE you may as well give STELLA $100 bills to shred - equal value and all....

I love her and she's working my last nerve!

Oh my, I had forgotten.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Two!
-
I don’t feel like rolling out of bed yet.
-
Those large new pillows have one disadvantage: after several hours on them, my leg muscles cramp terribly.
I didn't expect that. Does the back one still feel comfortable if you remove the leg pillow?

Last night we watched Geraldine McEwan as Miss Marple in At Bertram's Hotel, which was quite wonderful. It was sort of a Grand Hotel with a murder mystery, involving Nazis trying to escape to South Americam a Nazi hunter, a Jew trying to recover family art stolen by the Nazis, a painter and blackmail, polygamy, Louis Armstrong, a black singer, a reading of the will, a pretty young hotel chambermaid helping Miss Marple to inspect the crime and the handsome young detective attracted to her. It was 90 minutes of fun.
The singer never did sing the bridge to "Anything Goes" correctly.

TOD:
Dancing. Maybe travel. Spending time with friends. I don’t miss much of the old normal, though, to be honest. I really don’t miss taking a hour each way to drive 15 miles to work.

Pathetic. Here are some Trump supporters.
Do you have no respect for the people who gave their lives on June 6?
Not everything has to do with Trump.
All I said was:
Today is June 6th.
Please take a moment to remember D-DAY.
1944
:( :( :(
Of course I do. My comments have nothing to do with insulting those military heroes and you're a fool to suggest I do. And a bigger fool for ignoring what's going on.

Then, you shouldn't have turned my original comment into a political statement. >:(
As the Baby Bear said to Mother Bear, you bore me. You are one fool i will never suffer with any patience, nor will I suffer through another of your dreadful books.

Since we’re not likely to get Sondheim’s Exterminating Angel anytime soon, I’m watching Ades’s opera version of it, written for 15 principal voices and 3 sheep. Even the orchestral warmup is scripted—or the overture sounds like a warmup. And this afternoon, Bunuel’s original film.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep and awaiting the long overdue arrival of she of the Evil Eye.
-
I'll leave the posts, but I think people have made their points.
-
So, who actually has watched the Facebook/YouTube Live tests?
-
Good morning, all.
-
With ten minutes to spare.
-

I think that’s available till this evening? I’ve got it open on a tab. I’d really want to see the film again first, but now there’s no time for that.
-
So, who actually has watched the Facebook/YouTube Live tests?
Saw one live and one on tape.

I think that’s why I am watching them in reverse.

So, who actually has watched the Facebook/YouTube Live tests?
Watched the first one in summer reruns and the second one live.

His music's a hard go. Powder Her Face is a perversely funny opera.

I don’t recall them broadcasting it on TV. If they did, I’m a complete idiot for letting it slip by me. I had also hoped to capture Rusalka, the “Vegas” Rigoletto, and Marnie, none of which made it to TV. Unless, again, I somehow blew it.
-
Druxy, maybe you didn't see my post above? Please read it.

Certainly for the singers, as I recall.
-
Hard go, that is.
I’d be interested in seeing/hearing Powder Her Face.
-
I’ve got another webinar to watch this afternoon. Something - which is probably way over my head at this point - involving MainStage and...uh, something.
Am I prepared, or what?
Fortunately, it’ll be available to watch for a while.
-
And gentle people, this site has an "ignore" function - use it if someone's posts are annoying you and you'll never see those posts.

I do have a DVD of that. Haven’t watched it.

If I can figure iut how to copy that, I’ll send you a copy.

Ooh, there’s a Theremin in the orchestra pit.

Three!

“Simply, A Lifetime if Lyrics “ has arrived in my mailbox
-
The aide we hired for my mom is now going to have a conflict, she had to say yes to another patient jib offered by the service she works for (if she says no she goes to the bottom of the list and we all know this job with a Mom is temporary)
-
So she will no less never be available Monday -Thursday’s
-
My mom however is starting to do more things for herself
-
I am also looking into a medical alert system
-
Does anyone here have any experience with those medical alert button companies?
-
I'll leave the posts, but I think people have made their points.
I wish they were removed but I understand why you are leaving them. I feel like taking the day off. There was no need to make a post about D Day political. :(

Please, where is the ignore function as this has tied my stomach in knots.

I am sorry. Will you find another aid or got back to sleeping there?
-
My mom however is starting to do more things for herself
Thank goodness for that.
-
I am also looking into a medical alert system
I hope she has agreed to wearing it.

Ignore them and I'll ignore yours. Everything is political.
-
Simply put, no Simply in San Antonio.
-
The opera doesn’t feature a Theremin. My bad. Sorry.
It is a martenot or an ondes martenot.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ondes_Martenot
-
And the last note, as it were, one thing I read is that one of the sopranos hits an A above high C, supposedly the highest note ever at the Met.
-
I am off for the rest of the day. We are supposed to not be mean or political here.
-
Take a break, dear Jane, and then return. The ignore button is great, folks. Just click on your own name, then click on "Modify Profile" which will bring a drop down menu - choose the last item.
-
Back from my first dine-in since March 15. Not Jerry's Deli, however - Coral Cafe. Distanced seating, wait staff in masks and gloves. I had eggs benedict and it was great.

I haven’t stopped sleeping there. The aide has been coming 1-7:30
-
I never knew about the ignore button
-
I'd like to think people wouldn't need to use it, but it's a handy tool to use rather than have to take breaks from the site, which shouldn't be necessary. You can ignore, then you can change back - like a time out.
-
What is this page three malarkey?
-
Third Facebook/YouTube Live test in four hours. I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille.
-
It's not a comeback - it's a return!
-
In honor of the day, I might watch The Longest Day which is coming on TCM in a bit.....
-
And this, Dear Readers, is how you pose for a costume/hairdressing test when Paramount Pictures is getting on your last nerve.....and you don't care.....1941....and don't ask her to put out her cigarette.
Some days I know exactly how she felt.

Up from a nap.
-
Time for the original Exterminating Angel.

Sad!
-
Putting it as simply as I can, SIMPLY has arrived. :)
-
And I just finished watching that angel exterminate some simple folks.
-
They were not, however, singing "What Do the Simple Folk Do?"
No sir. These folks had far heavier things on their mind.
It's great. I liked it so much more the first time than I'd imagined I would.
-
But now, if I don't put some food in my belly, I shall faint dead away.
Later.

Pretty wonderful, strange and delightful. The same with the film.

Four!

There’s a vocal score listed for $100 on eBay — but not anywhere else so maybe it’s not really “available”, if you catch my drift. Not that I’m rushing out to buy one. But someday.
-
BK, the book looks fantastic.
I’ll get started on it soon. It’ll be easier once the weekend is past.
-
The ending of the movie is very different from the opera. I’d forgotten it. It’s also more timely than perhaps I wanted.
-
I’ve taken the movie out but I don’t think I can hack it tonight. And I don’t remember the ending, either.
-
Ah, this one’s actually available on Blu-ray and DVD.
I mean the opera. And it’s the Met production.
-
Glad the books are arriving!

Third Facebook/YouTube Live test in ninety minutes.

Third Facebook/YouTube Live test in ninety minutes.
Was listening to some Cole Porter and friends. Now watching.
-
Lovely-sad performance of Three Acts, a song I really like.
-
Gratuitous post No. 101!
-
Those large new pillows have one disadvantage: after several hours on them, my leg muscles cramp terribly.
Oh, no! :(
-
I was watching AD ASTRA.....which I found very good - but I do not need to see it again.....ever.....
-
So, who actually has watched the Facebook/YouTube Live tests?
I was able to catch tonight's just as it started. :)
-
I was watching AD ASTRA.....which I found very good - but I do not need to see it again.....ever.....
I agree.
-
DAMN!
I put the Exterminating movie in, planning to watch, say, the first half hour, and I didn't make it ten minutes. Sound asleep, while the thing played straight through. Why was I so in need of sleep?
Anyway, that blew the Kritzerland Teaser #3, which I am watching Right Now, damn it to HELL.
-
"Three Acts" -- very nice.
And you know what else? Apropos of nothing? I love that Sundays and Cybele poster -- not only for itself, but as the backdrop to these videos. It's the perfect thing, color and texture-wise.
-
Kings of Broadway concert as a fund-raiser. It’s British. The music of Styne, Sondheim and Herman.
Liz Callaway was the first name listed.
The Zoom orchestra of the Gypsy overture is quite good.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhJDw-bfSn8
-
Concert is finished. I didn't watch every song, but the finale, despite some sound issues, is a real wonder -- a socially distanced version of Sunday sung by what appear to be workers at a department store or airport or some business. Liz Callaway appears in the song before the end, a lovely version of With So Little to Be Sure Of with Damien Humbley. Ramin Kariloo (sp?) has a nice version of Being Alive in it. Also really enjoyed Too Many Mornings, though I don't know who sang it.
-
Good night, all.
-
We were supposed to have a really nasty day of weather today, but it didn’t happen;at least, not in Puyallup.
-
It was really rather nice today.
-
Although, temperature-wise it didn’t feel much like June.
-
I got my test results back from the doctor.
-
Tests were negative. No cancer.
-
I hope we get the same results back for elmore!
-
9th night of protests in Seattle.
-
Of course, Tacoma is busy putting together a new Mr. Floyd for the protesters.
-
One more post.
-
Page five
-
I don’t understand what the big deal was today.
-
There was no cussing, no dirty names.
-
I guess it is just a sign of the time.
-
I think we ALL need to lighten up.
-
Good night.
-
Gee, George must have abandoned us.
-
Yep, appears so. Oh, well, we'll have to have this number of posts, I suppose.
