Well, you've read the notes, the notes were on the QT, and now it is time for you to post until the on the QT cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TROUBADOUR!
-
Researching Eric Ziel - seemed he emigrated to Los Angeles, worked on some films in the music department, and ended up teaching at - LACC, where one of his students was someone named Jerry Goldsmith. He died of a heart attack in the mid-1950s in his early 50s after teaching class one day.

That's a sad way to go.
-
Yesterday, I got an e-mail from Red Robin that said that they're reopening their dining rooms! ;D
-
I feel like I'm supposed to do something today (other than go to work), but I can't think of what it could be. Oh, well. Either I'll think of it, or I won't...or there really isn't something that I'm supposed to do today and I'm just having a brain fart, which is entirely possible. ;)
-
Well, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
After a good night, another rotten one. It was mostly my own fault. I decided to order Mexican food last night, and that was a lousy idea. I was up all night with cramps. On top of that, I could not settle. The room was too cold, then too hot. Thatch was happy to settle in with me but I think my restlessness and discomfort finally worked his last nerve.
-
This is my first day to leave the apartment since my return home. I hope everything goes easily.
-
Good luck on your adventure DR ELMORE!
-
Front door, back door, and TROUBADOUR.
I think these are the fancy entrances in house in Trousdale Estates, not to be confused with the Trousdale sandwich discussed here recently.
-
I am also about to venture out to Dollar Tree & Walmart. I hope to return.....but....one never knows.
I, however, am optimistic - as Shirley Temple encouraged us all to be.
-
Good luck on your adventure DR ELMORE!
Thanks!
-
I'm on my second cuppa, and thinking about the ordeal of The Bath!
-
Good morning, all.
-
The Benadryl sleep was exactly what I needed, and there’s enough of a “hangover” effect from it that I might even get in a li’l nap later.
-
I survived the bath. Annabelle decided she needed to sleep in the waste can, so she emptied it of all paper shredded by Stella and moved in. I'm ready to kill both.
-
I am seeing Annabelle doing her remodeling as I type......Don't need this....don't need this.....this goes....this goes.....
-
I survived the ordeal.
I found masks at Dollar Tree so I bought a package of two and a package of five pairs of gloves so I bought a package of those.
And a bottle of hand sanitizer at WalMart so I bought a small one at $1.97......
-
I also bought some INDEX cards to put my interviews questions on so I look like a perfeshuhnull intervuer.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for Elmore today.

I survived the ordeal.

Excellent finds.

I am home from all errands. The tumor was malignant but they removed all cancer. I am now 6-month CT-scans and checkups. I am quite relieved and very happy. Next Tuesday I will see Dr Aronoff about the appendix lesion.
-
Excellent news, Elmore. So happy for you.
-
This is a great relief today. Now I can take a nap with the babies before I drag out the Big Ladder and bring down some cat food.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Great news, DR elmore!
-
Congratulations, Grandma Ginny and Grandpa Richard!
-
Wonderful news, DR Elmore!
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! We have picked up this week’s grocery order and are now waiting for the storms that are predicted.
-
Congratulations, Grandma Ginny and Grandpa Richard!
Thank you, DR KevinH!
-
DR Elmore, your news is fantastic! I hope receiving this good report will allow you to sleep better now.
-
Good morning.
-
Excellent news, Elmore!

Leonard has always been a very well behaved kitty. He has never been destructive. A couple weeks ago I bought him a medium sized tower, and he spends a lot of his time on it. I got one for Magdalena, too. She's all over hers. But she's all over everything.
-
As soon as I got in, Stella and Thatch came running. No sign of Annabelle, though I called for her. I finally went into the bathroom. She's made residence in that waste basket and paper is everywhere.
-
Good news from DR ELMORE.
-
DR LAURA I don't know what you're using - but you look so young!
-
Yes DR GINNY Thunderstorm watch here in middle Indiana....nothing yet and now the sun is shining......watching is on until 6 p.m.
-
Good to know, DR JRand!
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Good news from elmore.

I am sorry it was malignant but very happy you don't have to do chemo.

Will there be photos?

DR Laura I love your new avatar.
-
Just had fun catching up with my former NY assistant, who was with me from 1996 to the end of Varese. elmore will remember her very well - Kirsten Wendeborn, now living in Vienna. Turns out she spent a year in LA somewhere around 2008 but she never looked me up.
-
DR Laura I love your new avatar.
It’s great.
-
Norm Lewis is getting really good reviews for his role in Spike Lee’s latest, Da 5 Bloods.
-
Norm Lewis? You mean, the same Norm Lewis who'll be in the next Kritzerland show?

Yes! I liked Kirsten a lot. I'm happy she's well.

LOL! He's a nice man.
-
Snapped a picture for DR Ginny's viewing pleasure:
By the time I started grabbing these, I decided I didn't care how "used" they were. I only insisted on solid, non-musty, unmarked condition for the book itself (library markings would be okay for these) and an intact (well, relatively speaking) dust jacket. I don't know if there are still more volumes out there.

That's wonderful, Larry!

Those are great, ChasSmith!
-
3hree!!
-
Congratulations DR Ginny!
-
Great news DR Elmore!
-
I think I have one volume of those books DR CHAS SMITH - but since my bookcases are three or four books deep, I can't look right now....the one I want is NEVER on the front.
-
Norm Lewis? You mean, the same Norm Lewis who'll be in the next Kritzerland show?
Hopefully. I saw him in the original Side Show. Big fan.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I made it up and down the Big Ladder. The cats have food.
-
Great news from DR Elmore!
-
At the moment I am very very sleepy. I don't know if I will get into a Tommy and Tuppence mystery tonight or not.
-
Congrats to DR Ginny, Richard, Rob, and Mary Linda!
-
Great news from DR Elmore!
Thanks! It is quite a relief to have that worry off my back.

i am amazed you found masks at Dollar Tree. I would not have expected there to be a surplus of them so soon.
Hand sanitizer is different. I love the stories of distilleries who've now branched out into hand sanitizer. Lots of companies are making it now and I suspect it'll be a part of the new normal.

I'm sure it is.

Yesterday I went into Beverly Hills for an ultrasound. This medical office takes Covid very seriously: no entrance until you've had your temperature taken, been given hand sanitizer, and answered a verbal questionnaire. Hardly any chairs in the office. The ultrasound went smoothly, as I expected it would.

This was on La Cienega Blvd, which USED to be Restaurant Row and quite the place to be. It's strange to see restaurants and stores boarded up, closed due to the lockdown. I was grateful, though, that traffic is still lighter than usual. Beverly Hills is generally a good place to avoid if you don't like traffic.
-
I came home and couldn't keep my eyes open. I zonked out.
-
I'm home today, trying to take care of a zillion things that have piled up. Lots to do.
-
Stay safe, stay well, stay cool.
TTFN.
-

The advantage of not moving over & over again, you can keep all the books you want.

My first driving experience alone was into Beverly Hills. It was a long time before I drove in Beverly Hills again.
-
My second driving experience was past Rancho Park golf course, on my left, when a golf ball came flying at me. I thought it was going to go right through my open window so I slowed down. Instead it hit my window just to the let of the steering wheel.
-
Third experience alone the car began making a strange noise. I pulled into the Mobile gas station my parents often used for repairs. It was an easy fix and, after speaking to my mother, they took care of the problem while I waited.
-
The 2nd & 3rd outing were under a mile from home. Into the heart of Beverly Drive was under 3 miles.
-
I came home and couldn't keep my eyes open. I zonked out.
I hope you napped. I took one yesterday.
-
Well a lot of congratulations are in order!
-
Congratulations to Jack on an excellent doctors report!
-
Congratulations to Elmore no chemo or radiation is wonderful!
-
Congratulations to Our newest grandparents Ginny and Richard!
-
Charlotte Berenice is a lovely name!
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!

Listening to an Australian production of Chess from 2015. The video is terrible, but the audio is OK. I guess this is one of the many rewrites. It's worse than the Broadway version. The book is just ugly.

Thank you, DRs Jennifer, Jeanne, and Vixmom!
We just had our first video chat with the 3 of them, still in the hospital. They’re expecting to go home tomorrow after one more pediatrician visit. Mary Linda’s release papers have already been signed.
-
DR ChasSmith, thank you for the photo of your bookshelf. You have a great collection!

I expect your hospital video chat was as special and wonderful as ours was :)

It may actually be cool enough to go out and do a little more yard work.
-

Well, I didn't think of what it could be, other than possibly that today is the day that other people in my building are finally allowed to come back to work. We had probably a dozen or so in an area close to mine, so it wasn't an empty place. I think more people will slowly come back in the next few weeks.
-
Yes, it was great, DR Jane. They had been very uncommunicative today and I was a little worried. No reason - they said it was just a busy day, full of testing and such. Charlotte was sleeping, but we got several good looks.

It was the same for us. We waited hours until the video chat could happen and they called shortly after they were finally in their room.

Time for me to head home. My niece texted me asking if I would record a TV show for her and put it on a disc. I said that I could, so I need to head home before it starts at 8:00.
Be back later. But before I go...
-
Gratuitous Post #100! ;D
-
Yard work is done for the night. Not finished. But the green barrel is full.
-
I think I'm going to retire.
-
Good night, all.
-
Finished with my viewing and working on the Kritzerland show.
-
'night
-
Good night, Jane.

After work, I did a little shopping at Fred Meyer.
-
I got some refried beans and both crunchy and soft tortillas for my family's get together on Saturday.
-
We're going to have tacos! :D
-
And the beans and tortillas are my contribution.
-
Can't wait!
-
And fortunately, I was able to get home in time to set my DVR to record the show that my niece wanted.
-
It's a two-part special with Oprah Winfrey called, "What Do We Do Now?"
-
It's a town hall special to talk about police brutality.
-
I just found out that both parts are on YouTube.
-
Here is part one:

Here's the description:
Oprah Winfrey leads the conversation speaking directly with Black thought leaders, activists and artists about systematic racism and the current state of America. Featured guests include: Stacey Abrams, Charles M. Blow, Keisha Lance Bottoms, Ava DuVernay, Jennifer Eberhardt, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Ibram Kendi, David Oyelowo, Rashad Robinson and Bishop William J. Barber II.
-
I didn't watch the whole two hours, but what I did watch was pretty darned informative and powerful.
-
PAGE FIVE DANCE!!
-
Here's the description: PAGE FIVE???
-
This entire week has been like this - let us turn this around.
-
TCB fell asleep again?
-
I'm thinking of having an English muffin and frankly I don't care who knows it.
-
Put up your dukes.
-
Let's wrassle this damn page to the ground.
-
I've been working on making a Blu-ray of this Oprah online town hall for my niece.
-
There are very few commercial breaks, so that makes it easier.
-
I've been sitting here waiting for more posts. I'm fine doing so.
-
Okay.
-
Here's one:

Fine and dandy.
-
Both dandy and fine.

I had the English muffin.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
