Title: THE LISZT IS ENDLESS
Post by: bk on July 08, 2020, 12:19:38 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes had Liszts of classical music used for pop songs, and now it is time for you to post until the Lisztless cows come home.

And the word of the day is: SAVANT!

Today will be a day.  I'll go to work and then at about 1:15 PDT, I'll leave for my lunch time and go pick up my new glasses!  I like the ones that I currently have, but since I've had them for four years, and my eye plan allows a certain amount for frames every two years, I'm getting new frames as well as lenses.  Also, this means that I'll be able to have five, count 'em, FIVE different "looks" when I do more theater...AND be able to actually see (for the most part)! :D I'll post pictures, as soon as I pick them up.

And now, I must be off to bed.

Have a good day, all!

I am quite groggy this morning.  I slept well until around 4:00AM, when Stella began pestering me.  I never got back to sleep.  When kitty cleanup is over and the bed is made, I'll take a nap with the cats.

It's going to be a rainy day so my trip to the post office will be postponed.  My walking's bad enough when the sidewalks are dry, so I'll avoid being outside in the rain.

BK, I'm enjoying Simply quite a lot, and I really love the stories about their raison d'etre.  What I'm wondering is, have you given any thought to an album of one or two discs of a lot of these songs?  I would love it.

So, I was chatting on the phone with an actor last night who is doing one of my audio books. He lives in Hollywood.

(Remember, I'm in Austin.)

He tells me that the studios are pretty much closed.  There is virtually no film production...no theatre...

I know that the Academy Awards have been postponed.

Broadway is closed.

Come the Fall, what are we going to be watching on television?

Old movies?

Re-runs of old shows?

How may people who work in the entertainment industry are going to be able to stay in it, let alone survive?

I'm having no problem these days getting good actors to do my audio books, except when the four productions I'm currently doing are finished, I'll be out of books.

Seriously: I just wonder if the entertainment industry will ever come out of this.

And, with that splash of cold water in the face, I will get on with my day.

Agree! And I thought the same while reading it. That would be an invaluable supplement. I always want to see music, too, and I was very happy to find that the photo sections included some.

I just heard a "singer" named Storm Large sing Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin."  She shows next to no awareness of how the melody actually goes and appears to be making her own version up as she goes along.  It's absolutely dreadful.

There is a short wooded path we often walk these days.  In the middle there is room to move is someone is walking towards us from the opposite direction.  At the two ends the people entering always back out to let the folks already in the path exit.

Yesterday as we were exiting a couple came jogging up.  Keith was in front of me and said he kept putting his hands up for them to stop, which they did not.  By the time they got to me the woman, who was in front, finally begins jogging in place and offers for me to go past her.

I’m glad some of these Kens and Karens are losing their jobs over their deplorable behavior in public. The guy who refused to wear his mask at the Florida Costco was fired. And the SF CEO is apparently no longer employed after his racist rant at a restaurant.

I had a couple of N95 masks, which I gave her. She had a very bad respiratory illness a couple of years ago that almost killed her. She is one who truly needs one of these masks. She needs it for the airport and the plane ride. She has been SO careful since March not to get this virus.

Good results that hopefully will discourage others from wanting the attention the videos give them.

She sings with Pink Martini.  I've seen here with them here in Olympia a couple of times.  The first couple of sentences of one of the comments for this song is, "I love this interpretation of the song! It's like this is how it was supposed to be performed. That intensity you deliver is a out of body experience!"

First of all, if you're looking for Out of the Box you'll never find it - the title was and is Outside the Box.  As I mentioned here when it was happening, I had to pull all the online stuff when I licensed the show to watchstage.com.  They've got it for another year or so, then it reverts to me again.  But I'm most likely going to put the two seasons on Blu-ray at some point with tons of extras.  I believe you can do a free trial on the watch stage site and they're all there.

Started listening to a dishy history called Chanel’s Riveria that is shaping up to be fun. All about the decadent rich playing their days away while the rest of the world suffered from the Depression and World War II. Cocteau, Stravinsky, Cole Porter, the Duke and Duchess, Churchill, F. Scott and Zelda, and, of course, Coco have all put in appearances.

I then browsed in Dollar Tree and purchased a few things, including a couple of containers of Good & Clean disinfectant wipes.  My plan was to send them to Craig for his classroom.  There are only 30 wipes, compared to 38 in the same size Clorox container, and they dry out very quickly.  I won't bother sending them to him.

It sounds like you had a productive day DR JANE.

Tomorrow will be our first quiet day this week.  I am looking forward to it.

The colors are nice and I like your new photo.

I finished Leave Her to Heaven. Fine stuff. Great performance from Gene Tierney. Scenery-chewing par excellence provided by Vincent Price.

I am soooo tired of the fluff from cottonwood trees.  It is everywhere and not only annoying but allergy producing.

Out here, we tell children that's what snow looks like.

Were they ear loops, Jane? The ear loops fit around my wrist.

The elastic that goes around my head is too loose.

This is funny.  I opened a news story for the details "Amazon joins Target, Walmart in removing Washington NFL team merchandise"

Details in the article basically state "Washington's team announced last week that it was doing a "thorough review" of its name, which has long been condemned as a racial slur."

I cannot find the name of the team mentioned.   I guess I am expected to know since I live in the state of Washington. ;D

Yup, ear loops.  I have small wrists.  It is hard for me to find bracelets that fit.

I have not had a mask with elastic that goes around the head.  I am sure that would be too loose.
