BK, I'm enjoying Simply quite a lot, and I really love the stories about their raison d'etre. What I'm wondering is, have you given any thought to an album of one or two discs of a lot of these songs? I would love it.
I just heard a "singer" named Storm Large sing Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin." She shows next to no awareness of how the melody actually goes and appears to be making her own version up as she goes along. It's absolutely dreadful.

So, I was chatting on the phone with an actor last night who is doing one of my audio books. He lives in Hollywood.
(Remember, I'm in Austin.)
He tells me that the studios are pretty much closed. There is virtually no film production...no theatre...
I know that the Academy Awards have been postponed.
Broadway is closed.
Come the Fall, what are we going to be watching on television?
Old movies?
Re-runs of old shows?
How may people who work in the entertainment industry are going to be able to stay in it, let alone survive?
I'm having no problem these days getting good actors to do my audio books, except when the four productions I'm currently doing are finished, I'll be out of books.
Seriously: I just wonder if the entertainment industry will ever come out of this.
And, with that splash of cold water in the face, I will get on with my day.
I’m glad some of these Kens and Karens are losing their jobs over their deplorable behavior in public. The guy who refused to wear his mask at the Florida Costco was fired. And the SF CEO is apparently no longer employed after his racist rant at a restaurant.

I hadn't heard about the San Francisco CEO getting sacked, but I'm sure the board of directors was happy to lose him. His apology to the family he was such a pig to rang so phony. Amy Cooper, the Central Park lunatic who threatened the bird watcher who asked her to leash her dog is facing charges, and she deserves everything bad coming her way.
So, good news. I took my birding buddy to the airport this morning. She's the one who had surgery about the time Elmore did.
She is feeling better than she has in years. I hadn't seen her since before the lockdown.
I had a couple of N95 masks, which I gave her. She had a very bad respiratory illness a couple of years ago that almost killed her. She is one who truly needs one of these masks. She needs it for the airport and the plane ride. She has been SO careful since March not to get this virus.
Jane, I carry a mask with me when I walk. I wear the ear loops around my wrist like a bracelet. Then I can pop it on when someone comes near.
Michael, I hope you are doing better.
There's also Anya, from Rachmaninoff, which I think I've only listened to once.

Ask BK
I’ve been looking for Out of the Box musicals but they seemed to have disappeared from the internet. Can you direct me to where they are? The only thing I found was the trailer.
If this pandemic had been dealt with correctly we would not be as bad off as we are. I read that the the US was rated as the best country in the world prepared for a pandemic and Britain second.

Went to Wegmans supermarket. Got a package of these:

They're delicious.
Perry's is based near Buffalo and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that Wegmans carried these here in Virginia.
Storm Large is everything the name would imply.
Very annoying is that I have to be careful not to knock my hearing aids off when I take off my mask. I would hate to lose one.

...then reality set in. :P
Having a delightful lunch. I reneged on my no delivery dictum this one time, but only because I got an e-mail from Postmates about free delivery AND that they'd deliver from Canter's - so I got a pastrami with cole slaw and Russian dressing and boy is it good.
At least they have been the only inconsiderate people we have met there. We think though it is time to begin carrying our masks to slip onto our faces if needed.
It sounds like you had a productive day DR JANE.
And here's a picture up close so you can kind of make out the colors:
I am soooo tired of the fluff from cottonwood trees. It is everywhere and not only annoying but allergy producing.

Out here, we tell children that's what snow looks like.
Were they ear loops, Jane? The ear loops fit around my wrist.
The elastic that goes around my head is too loose.
Before I forget, here's me in my new glasses:
I cannot find the name of the team mentioned. I guess I am expected to know since I live in the state of Washington. ;D
Still doing my second go-through of the Munch box - a magnificent thing it is.

The colors are nice and I like your new photo.
Nice new glasses, George. Are they comfortable?

I think The Munch Box would be a great name for a small cafe.
Or perhaps a food truck! Painted to look like a lunch box.
It is only July, and we already have political ads on TV.
But these are for state politicians. Attorney General. Lt. Governor. House seats.

You vote for house seats? Are theaters open already??
;)

Wrong Washington, Jane. This is the Washington (D.C.) Redskins.
