Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not written on the fly, who is dead, and now it is time for you to post until the flying cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: VERECUND!
-
That's really too bad about how Robert Stevens died. :-\
-
Good morning, all!

That Fat Orange Slug squatting in the White House is unhappy that Dr Fauci is more popular than he, the Typhoid Mary of Covid-19? This petty little wannabe Hitler should catch the virus, a gift from all the victims his misinformation and lies have murdered.

I slept very well. Thatch spent most of the night with me. Annabelle was angry with me for forcing a large dose of Lysine on her, and she retired to her bookcase aerie. She was friendly this morning and ate a large breakfast, but I doubt she males the connection.
-
DR JohnG, re that "Sing For Your Supper," I guess that one of the three was well compensated because my experience working with her is that it's all about her. I turned off when Rob Fisher barged intro the number to conduct. There's only so much a person can take.
-
Mr Crabby is back, I guess.
-
I have today and tomorrow to make a trip to the bank, but I have no urge to hobble out and deal with 90+ degree heat.
-
DR vixmom, I has happy you showed up last night. I've missed you.
-
DR JohnG, I'm hoping that glitch with the map doesn't bode ill for your trip. How long will you be on break?
-
DR Jeanne, when Thatch was still a kitten, that little devil knew every time I was taking him to the vet and went into hiding. Now, whenever he goes, I do cartwhewels and jump through hoops to keep him unaware. Never works.
-
DR TCB, you made a trip to an animal shelter several weeks ago, Have you thought about going back?
-
Part of my day will be spent cleaning up the detritus of yesterday's mess.

Last night we watched a video of a collaboration between the Royal Opera House amd the Royal Ballet, Händel's wonderful Acis and Galatea, about a water nymph who loves a shepherd. When Galatea rejects the amorous advances of the Cyclops Polyphemus - later blinded by Ulysses in The Odyssey - the monster kills Acis, and a mourning Galatea turns him into a running stream.
Years ago, the City Opera had a wonderfully humorous and moving production of the work, but this Royal Opera-Ballet collaboration is a dud, staged by a choreographer whose choreography completely underwhelmed me. Each of the five singing roles, like the cast of Follies, had a dancing counterpart who writhed, twisted, pranced and did nothing to help the plot. They did a fantastic job, however, of taking attention from the singers.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Are we sure that the fly isn't just resting?
-
I hope this fly didn't have a little face, and wasn't, in fact, screaming, almost inaudibly. Help me!!!
-
I wonder if the Daughter delivers to Danbury.
Disclaimer: That's what we call a "joke", folks. Please, don't anybody go ordering for me -- unless you planned to charge it to your own account. And if you do, I'll have the potato pancake, thanks.
-
DR TCB I have had many dreams of finding a kitten or a cat.
-
DR George, with regular vets backed up that far in your area it isn't surprising the wait at the emergency vet is that long. It sounds like the problem in the ER with people using them instead of a primary physician.
Have you called Neve's original vet?
Good luck finding a good doctor to see, at a reasonable cost!
Continued vibes for Neve!

Bruce did the paper plate come with the sandwich or is this what you normally use instead of dishes?

Just got up to date with Finale, finally. Their current discount offer ($79 instead of $149) expires tonight, and I'd been hemming and hawing over this decision for a long time, so...

Where did you find this offer. I should do the same!

It was an email offer I received on the 23rd. I was on v25, and this jumps me to 26. Are you not already there? I'll forward the email to you so you can hit the link and see what's what.

I've only ever bought and upgraded via the special deals. I first decided to buy the software on a $99 offer when they were moving from the 2012 version to 2014 (if I'm remembering those right). Then I upped to 2014.5, then maybe something else, then 25, and now 26.
So in eight years, I might have finally spent almost the actual purchase price of $600, spread over time! :)

I think VERECUND was Candide's sister-in-law.

Short waiting vibes for DR GEORGE & NEVE.
-
The local access channel guy Greg told me that he is changing up the schedule for "Conversations With Jack."
He will now run the most current two episodes Mon-Fri at 7 p.m. and then run ALL of the episodes in order at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
He suggested that I put an ad in the paper to increase viewership - so I think I will.....
-
Good morning!

Short waiting vibes for DR GEORGE & NEVE.
I forgot to mention that earlier, DR George. Telling a customer to just show up without giving a warning that there could be several hours wait is not just rude but it's completely irresponsible. For cripes sake, set up appointment times, moron.
-
The couple of times we went to one of the emergency pet places, the longest we waited to be seen was maybe twenty minutes.
Then again, that was in the Before Time.

Wednesday morning greetings! We have groceries to pick up at Kroger between 1 and 2 today. Isn't that exciting?

Well, good ol' sadly aging crone Madonna has proven herself in the past to be a nasty rotten bitch and today she proves she's not only rude and charmless but she's also crazy as a coot.

Thanks to our DR ChasSmith I am updated to the current Finale.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep thanks to the idiots next door, shooting hoops and screaming at nine.
-
The paper plate was mine own.
-
Thanks to our DR ChasSmith I am updated to the current Finale.
I hope you’re better at it than I am!

Randy Rainbow is one of the guests on "The Talk" today.

Nope. I'm completely maladroit. I keep it to open files, and if this edition of Babes In Toyland ever gets off the ground, the files for the vocal and orechestra scores are all Finale.

Thanks, Jane! And yes, I did call Neve's original vet. They're the ones who told me that the earliest they could see her is August 21, hence the 24-hour vet search. :P

Thanks, Larry, but these two places were specifically emergency vets that don't set up appointments. It's literally first come first served, which I totally understand.

Yes, definitely.

Hoping the day is going smoothly for DR George & Neve.

Oh, you mean the vet that Neve's previous owner used? I don't know who that was. I meant the vet that I had originally used when I first got her, and they couldn't take her soonly, so that's why I am going to someone else.
-
When our upstairs dog began showing signs of being sick it was over the weekend. Our neighbor could not get a response from the emergency vet and had to wait until Monday to speak to her regular vet.

Went back to bed and slept another couple of hours, but woke up and swallowed wrong or something and yuck.

I'm completely worn out. Stella has escaped the apartment twice in the past hour. The first time she stayed on the third floor and it was easy to catch her. She escaped while I was wrestling with the door, my cane, and a lot of packages I had brought up from the mail boxes.
The second time was my fault. I thought I heard someone drop something outside my door so I opened the door to look without thinking about her and she bolted past me. When I caught up with her on three, she ran down the stairs to two. When I finally got the elevator to two, she ran down to one, and I had to chase her all over the damned floor. She ran, hid behind a huge carton that was delivered earlier, ran under the staircase and explored, and I hobbled and lurched after her. She's now inside and I've locked the door.
-
The new cat quilt was one of the packages I brought up. Tomorrow I will wash it and the cats will have their own quilt to play on instead of my grandmother's quilt.
-
I forgot to mention how lovely I thought that quilt is DR ELMORE.
-
In The Before Time, I would be rehearsing YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU in one role or another - I was hoping it would be Kolenkhov the Russian ballet master.....and holding my ears while listening to a woman I really don't like rehearsing the part of Winifred in MATTRESS.....
-
I forgot to mention how lovely I thought that quilt is DR ELMORE.
Thanks! The cats are quite curious about it.
-
In other news, the fly is still dead.
-
Starting this evening, the 1977 Rigoletto. Have to watch at least some of that.
-
Ended up ordering Jersey Mike's - wasn't up to making pasta and the resulting dirty dishes.
-
Listening to Eugen Jochum do the Bruckner symphonies. I don't think I loved them the first time I listened, but thanks to the Bruno with a B three Bruckners, I wanted to reevaluate - and I'm enjoying them much more this time around. I think I was too much going back and forth between the two sets by Jochum and Gunter Wand before. Jochum is a master of this music and the early stereo is amazing - (the series was begun in 1958). The Wand is nowhere near.
-
Starting this evening, the 1977 Rigoletto. Have to watch at least some of that.
Right now, I'm about to start watching a 65-minute video that's required training for work: "Tools to Address Implicit Bias in Local Government."
::)
-
I actually have until August 5th to watch it, but why wait? So, I won't.
-
Tonight the cats and I are going to watch the first film I know of to match Jack the Ripper against Sherlock Holmes, A Study in Terror. Tomorrow night we will watch the gloomier and more serious Murder By Decree.
-
Jersey Mike's eaten - not quite as good as usual, but still fine. I'm still clearing my gucky throat from whatever happened when I got up.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I drove over to Julie Goes Green, the vegan Italian restaurant that I like so much. The food is really good, and the employees are friendly and seem to know what they're doing. So often I get the impression that the founder of a restaurant knew what he/she was doing, but once things are delegated to inexperienced and often apathetic staff it all goes quickly downhill. Not so here, I'm pleased to say. Always good, always fresh.
-
I have no other news.
Stay safe, stay well.
TTFN.

The required video is watched! The only items left to watch (about a dozen or so) are all not due until the end of the year, so more procrastination for me! ;)

Guess I'll mosey on over to the mail place. Have been waiting because there's a DHL package coming today, but that creep comes at the last minute and I don't feel like waiting until six twenty-nine and then maybe even have him not show up.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep thanks to the idiots next door, shooting hoops and screaming at nine.
Better than my 5.
-
The paper plate was mine own.
Easy clean up. I can't remember the last time I used a paper plate.
-
Back from the mail place - happily, Mr. DHL last-minute had JUST been there one minute before I arrived.
-
Congrats on the package for MR BK.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
Which of the composers he used do you think did the best work for Roger Corman in the 1950's and 1960's?
-
I am watching some NHL exhibition games being played in advance of this weekend's opening games!
-
In other news, Dr. Fauci said Indiana was one of four states in danger of being overwhelmed in the near future by the C-19.

Ron Stein and Les Baxter.

DR George how is Neve today?

DR George how is Neve today?
I'm still at work, so I don't know, yet. I'm just about to leave, so I'll find out soon enough. I will say that yesterday and last night she was sneezing less than she had been over the weekend, so maybe she's getting over it...hopefully.
Be back later.
-
That's encouraging.
-
Fell asleep after dinner and slept all evening
-
So of course now I’m awake at 1:21 am
-
And we’re on page 3?
-
Was the site down?
-
Where is everybody?
-
I had my first veggie burger today
-
I bought a package last time I was at Costco
-
I ended up cooking in in a skillet with some of the leftover vegetables and vegetable stock from last nights dinner
-
It was pretty good
-
I don’t remember the brand but there are still a bunch left
-
Well we’re on page 4 at least
-
Which is better than three
-
Hmmmm 10 more posts to an interesting post total
-
I wonder if I can think of anything interesting to say
-
It was pretty good
😊
-
I mean, there’s gotta be a first time, right?
-
I was thinking that burger would be good with a little melted mozzarella and some pasta sauce
-
Maybe I’ll try that for lunch tomorrow
-
This mornings breakfast was a homemade smoothie
-
Almond milk, fresh blueberries, a banana, fresh blackberries, fresh strawberries
-
And I threw some ice in the blender too
-
It was pretty good
-
I’ve got nothing interesting to say, so I’ll say goodnight and leave it at this...

Finished with my viewing.

DR Vixmom, interesting meals you are eating these days ;)

DR George how is Neve today?

Be back later.
Well, I didn't take Neve to the 24-hour vet tonight. ::)
-
Good evening.
-
I came home and thought I'd lay down in my recliner for a bit until it got cooler, and I kinda zonked out.
-
Neve joined me and she didn't sneeze once, so maybe she's getting better.
-
Page 4? Why?
-
Hi, Tom and Jane and BK and Vixmom!
-
Hang on...
-
F I V E !
-
5!!!!!
-
;)
-
I don't want to go to the vet now (even if there is only a 2-hour wait) because in the morning, I need to go to work earlier than I usually do, so I really should actually get to sleep earlier than I usually do...which is usually too late, anyway.
-
So, I'll see how Neve is during the night...if she wakes me up with any sneezing, or if she is okay.
-
Then, if I decide to go to the 24-hour vet tomorrow night, I can stay up as late as I need to, or I could probably even wait until the weekend and take ALL the time I need. :)
-
No more sneezing vibes for DC Neve!
-
No more sneezing vibes for DC Neve!
Thanks, Jane! So far, so good!

Hopefully, Neve will be better tonight.
-
I heard today that Jimmy Kimmel is not really on a summer vacation, but that he was put on leave while the network examines him for sexual harassment. Anybody else?
-
Hopefully, Neve will be better tonight.
Thanks, Tom!

:o Did not know about that!
-

Where did you hear it?
-
The only thing that I can find about Jimmy Kimmel is that he wore blackface in skits when he was on The Man Show and only recently apologized.
-
That vixmom all 5's thing is mighty impressive.
