Well, you've read the notes, the notes revealed the mystery project, and now it is time for you to post until the mystery cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BUOYANT!
-
I slept for a little while and then woke up,
-
The finally revealed mystery project sounds real exciting! Can't wait to hear the tracks!
-
Have a good day, all!
-
I'm still here.
-
Listening to Szell do Mendelssohn - marvelous and incredible sound even on the CD layer. This was a pleasant surprise in the Szell Schumann set - this extra CD of Mendelssohn. Who knew?
-
These recordings were originally on the Epic label, which, of course, was owned by Columbia and so the sound was always on a par with Columbia.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I owe our DR ChasSmith an apology. Last night when I went to bed, I checked my cell phone alarm clock to discover I had turned the phone off yesterday morning - all I get are phishing calls and texts from campaigns wanting money - and I missed a text from our DR ChasSmith that came in around 8:
We had quite the storm, and all is well here except power and cable are out. We have generator but no internet. Can't even get on via cell,m which is really unusual, so just let everyone know.
I hope everything is happily repaired ASAP.
-
DR vixmom, you are truly a saint, but I have found that sometimes being an orphan has its advantages, much as I miss my dad. I think you need to set boundaries with your mother; that pork chop request really takes the cake for taking advantage.
-
Yesterday was more convoluted and stressing than I needed. I had Stella's messes to clean up, and in a total mental breakdown while I was cleaning the litter, I got it all over the bathroom floor, then the dustbuster broke and refused to pick up anything. When things calmed down it was time to feed the cats and myself, then clean it up, give the cats their nightly treat, and thensettle in with a Miss Fisher murder on PBS.
-
At 9:30, when I turned off the lights I couldn't get to sleep. I spent the next three hours nodding and dozing, during which I had two strange dreams, but I never felt I had actually gone to sleep.
In the first, I dreamed about my Miami University Theatre friend Beth Ewing, who left school in her senior year, 1971, to study in London. No one's seen her since and there was a rumor she married an Indian greengrocer. I tried throughout the 70s before I moved to New York to track her down, but I could not remember her hometown, although I did remember her parents; company, Ewing Nurseries.
-
In the second dream, I was meeting friends at a movie. Throughout both dreams the Sondheim song "Your Eyes Are Blue" kept running through my head.
-
Today, if I can help it, I plan to do nothing but lounge with the cats.
-
DR JohnG, your visit with your mother sounds much like mine with Randy ad Jo.
-
BK, can I send my CD back and exchange it for the new mix?
-
This morning the Metropolitan Opera refunded my $14.99. That makes my day.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Your day’s only worth $14.99, Elmore? I can at least get $17 for a day.
-
I am also looking forward to hearing the new sound of the tracks.
-
BK, have you thought of packaging Sandy’s album and your book Simply at a “special” pice? Or The Brain?
-
Your day’s only worth $14.99, Elmore? I can at least get $17 for a day.
I'm unemployed, so I take what I can get. It's ironic that as soon as the government $600 vanished, I get a $390 surgery bill and a $300 utility bill for the AC last month. They also estimate there will be 14,000 evictions happening in Manhattan this week thanks to the GOP fools in Senate who are set for life for stealing from the people.
-
Last night, Thatch gave me a real scare. He jumped from the foot of my bed to the cat tree, something he does a hundred times a day, landed awkwardly, and fell to the floor. I honestly thought his little heart had finally given out, and he was dead. I was in complete shock.
When I got to the place where he fell, he was gone, hiding under my worktable. Fifteen minutes he was back on my bed wanting a petting and a brushing.
-
I'm hoping this was simply a misstep and not the beginning of the end.
-
Good morning!
-
When BK mentioned Billy Goldenberg I thought his name sounded familiar. Then I recalled that he and the Bergmans wrote this beautiful song for B. Streisand's movie: "Up the Sandbox":

-
Looking forward to hearing the results of the Mystery Project!
-
That's crazy - a BUOYANT is your uncle! HAHAHAHAAHA!
-
Surviving the storm vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
Surviving vibes for DR VIXMOM.

Well four of our board members have decided that since the Youth Theatre Workshop at the Park went so well, that we should do an ADULT Shakespeare at the Park in September.
This was discussed on Sunday and decided against. Last night one of the folks emailed again and said we should do it....and that three people agreed with her.
The president emailed us and asked our opinion. A couple of us at the meeting had said our ages would prohibit us from participating.
Obviously that means nothing. The president said go ahead and do it. Without a lot of us....older folks.....I know EXACTLY who they will get to appear in the show - a lot of them troublesome people that I don't like AT ALL.
And these people will be representing us. I told the president in an email (he asked for our reactions) that we had already rejected the idea, that people respected our decision to NOT produce a season or a show (some even sent us extra money). We have a lot of Goodwill in the community right now.
I think this will hurt us. There are a LOT of people who are against activities like this. I really think someone is going to get sick.....and this AT LEAST should be voted on.
So there you are.....selfish people who just want to be onstage a moment are putting their lives and the lives of others at risk.
It's a cluster.......but I don't count, I'm obviously just along for the ride.
-
AH - the president just said he will send out an email ballot so that the board can vote as a whole on the event.
-
Speaking of Shakespeare, on the Royal Shakespeare Company's Youtube channel I watched a bit of their complete Much Ado About Nothing which is set in 1918 at the end of World War One. It reminded me of a second-rate version of the wonderful early 1970s Public Theatre version with Sam Waterston. Kathleen Widdoes, and Barney Hughes and a wonderful ragtime score, which was set at the end of the Spanish-American War. This still remains my favorite production of this comedy.

I have the DVD of that production. Wonderful.

Listening to an interminable meeting. And I can’t make it go away.

Good. I hope they vote against it.

It is not unusual for cats to fall and then hide for awhile. Chances are Thatch's fall was not related to his heart issue.
-
I am glad DR Chas is ok.
-
DR ELMORE I agree with DR JANE - sometimes the light or the tilt of the head causes kitties to misjudge a distance.....
I think Thatch will be okay.
-
Author Pete Hamill has died. I loved his novel Forever, which was a wonderful ride through Manhattan from the eighteenth century to 9/11.

I know his heart will kill him someday. It's the end result of Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy. I just hope it's later than sooner

I am here!
For a brief time, at least. We’re actually down to No Service (cell) at the house, so hopefully that means they’re working on it.
No power and no Comcast, though, so no internet till...whenever.
-
Wow. Pete Hamill and Billy Goldenberg. Okay, who’s number three?
-
What a great Mystery Project! Seriously. Looking forward to those!
-
And how wonderful to hear about the Szell recordings. I have neglected to make many SACD purchases due to the expense, but I do need to be checking into this stuff.
-
This morning the Metropolitan Opera refunded my $14.99. That makes my day.
Nice!

Okay, so all these people get evicted...do all those landlords REALLY expect to be able to fill ALL those now empty apartments with paying tenants?? So many people (a Sondheim reference ;) ) are out of work and can't pay, so who's going move now? Why not ride out the pandemic/depression until people can work again, then people will be able to pay again!
Just my 2¢.

Good! And Good Luck, Jrand!

Welcome back, ChasSmith!
-
We had wanted to watch the MET/Julie Taymor Magic Flute, but the storm prevented that. I do see it’s on DVD for the amount of money they just returned to DR Elmore, so maybe I’ll just get that.
-
Well, I’ve got to get home and see what’s going on there. If tomorrow’s the same story, I’ll come back to the CVS parking lot to check in then. Later!

I should have read all of your posts before asking where you were. Thanks for stopping in with an update. I hope you won't be without service too long.
-
Bruce I enjoyed reading about your mystery project.
-
Author Pete Hamill has died. I loved his novel Forever, which was a wonderful ride through Manhattan from the eighteenth century to 9/11.
I read that for my thesis. Loved it. There’s a phrase about the art of being in the present tense that has stayed with me.
-
So, there's a biz out there that delivers food called Kiddash. All I can think of is saying Kaddish, the prayer of the dead. I need a break.
-
;D
-
I'm up, I'm up - woke up at twelve-thirty after nine hours of sleep.
-
elmore, no need to send a CD back. We're trying to figure out how to do this and the files have to be converted to 24-bit, and then we have to figure out where they'll live and how people will get them. There will be a small cost to do it because I have to give John whatever that money is, but it was so worth doing it. Even the new mixes of Simply and This Christmas are lots better. So, you'll be getting seventeen hi-rez tracks. I'm also going to see if any sites that deal in hi-rez tracks will take it on consignment. We'll figure it all out, but the CD packaging is beautiful and worth having.

I was joking. I am indeed curious to hear the remix.

For me, it's like night and day, like hearing a whole new thing - he just did a great job.
-
The Mystery Project is a wonderful idea. I loved reading about it.
-
Internet revival vibes at the home of DR CHAS SMITH.
-
DR ELMORE I understand your concern.....that's a big burden.
-
I wonder what DR VIXMOM is fixing us for dinner tonight? I'm getting hungry.
-
My day has been spent dealing with lunacy.
Votes are not due until Friday on the Big Shakespeare Extravaganza, but my guess is that it will be approved. So there you are.
We're not doing a show.....we're doing a show......so there.....and please believe us when we start talking about our season in 2021....we're really telling the truth.....really....REALLY.....
-
DR ELMORE I understand your concern.....that's a big burden.
Thanks. He's such a wonderful little cat, the thought of losing him at too young an age really scares me.

-
Hello, everyone.
-
Bruce, I thought the mystery project was initiated when someone approached you about finding some material that you weren't sure even existed. Am I thinking of something else??
-
I, too, am looking forward to the new tracks.
-
The plumber came today. My kitchen faucet had been leaking badly, but I haven't wanted anyone in the apartment, so I delayed as long as possible. This morning I received a text from the building manager, saying that the plumber would be here in about 40 minutes. I had to cut short my exercise program, which I hate to miss, and readjust to accommodate him. I had a doctor's appointment which I did NOT want to reschedule. Some people assume that if you don't have a regular job you're free all day. Not me! But tenants here are treated like second-class citizens--that's not news. It's done, though, thankfully.
-
DR Jeanne >:( At least it was fixed and you didn't have to miss your appointment.
-
I wonder what DR VIXMOM is fixing us for dinner tonight? I'm getting hungry.
Yes, me, too.
Vixmom, how would you like to receive our orders--email or text?
-
DR Jeanne >:( At least it was fixed and you didn't have to miss your appointment.
Yes, but every time something needs repair it's the same story. She usually blames me. I'm surprised she didn't this time. I just got the "Your time and your life has no significance" attitude.
-
Well, I am indeed hungry and my meal hasn't arrived, so I guess it's time to cook. ;)
Stay safe, stay well.
TTFN.
-
On the Town is starting on TCM. I may watch a little.
-
DR Jeanne >:( At least it was fixed and you didn't have to miss your appointment.
Yes, but every time something needs repair it's the same story. She usually blames me. I'm surprised she didn't this time. I just got the "Your time and your life has no significance" attitude.
How rude! >:(
-
I hate the songs written for the movie of On the Town, except the title song. And that’s all I am watching.
-
I had to be in on the interview of my old boss today. He crossed a line and texted me a question afterward. I won’t hold it against him. He was one of the two who I would consider.
-
Bruce, I thought the mystery project was initiated when someone approached you about finding some material that you weren't sure even existed. Am I thinking of something else??
Yes, that's something else.
-
Not a question, but Ghost Story (aka Circle of Fear) is being released region free on home video. So if you’d like a copy of your episode it is available.
-
Good night, all.
-
Four!
-
I wonder what DR VIXMOM is fixing us for dinner tonight? I'm getting hungry.
Vixdad got a chicken breast that was rubbed with Penzeys poultry seasoning and Penzey’s Smoked Spanish paprika, then cooked in a skillet with the tiniest bit of black truffle infused olive oil, sliced onion, sliced red, yellow and green sweet peppers and sliced grape tomatoes, served over rice pilaf and with a side of corn on the cob from the local farm stand
-
I had 2 veggie burgers , some of my leftover zucchini, mushroom, eggplant, tomato, beet and , onion concoction and corn on the cob
-
What would you like?
-
I don’t eat the veggie burgers as burgers, I actually cut them up and mix them with my vegetable concoction and heat it all up in a skillet
-
Twitter has banned Der PumpkinFurher’s campaign account until it deletes a post containing himself offering Covid-19 misinformation. Wow.
Huzzah
-
I wonder what DR VIXMOM is fixing us for dinner tonight? I'm getting hungry.
Yes, me, too.
Vixmom, how would you like to receive our orders--email or text?
Well preferably you would send the main ingredients by mail, I’ll cook them up and send them back
-
Or eat them, depending on how hungry I am
-
My concoction was a little too hot when I took the first bite and it raised a blister on my top palate, right behind my front teeth.
-
Of course I couldn’t stop testing it with my tongue and now it’s burst and it’s sore
-
Guess I will be forced to eat a bowl of ice cream to numb it
-
For medicinal purposes of course
-
Not that the coffee, mocha chip ice cream in the freezer is calling my name or anything
-
Well my mouth feels much better
-
So does my tummy
-
I suppose I should go to sleep now
-
There’s nobody here to play with
-
Except one guest
-
And they’re staying quiet
-
I’ve been debating going to get my hairs cut
-
I haven’t been sinc3 the first week of March and I’m getting very shaggy
-
On the other hand, my hair is nearly long enough to put back in a barrette
-
And if I leave it to grow I will have more choices in hair style
-
I asked vixdad
-
We have obviously been married too long
-
He said, “ you always look beautiful, do what makes you feel happiest”
-
So he definitely couldn’t get in trouble with that answer
-
It was also not the slightest bit helpful
-
If you guys all die of boredom reading these posts you have no one to blame but yourselves

I'm pretty sure I already have an officially released set of this show?

Did a quick Gelson's run and lo and behold they had caffeine free Diet Coke so I got two twelve packs. On sale, too. Got some white rice and chicken filets for faux stroganoff tomorrow.
-
DR Jeanne >:( At least it was fixed and you didn't have to miss your appointment.

I am sorry she is rude and thoughtless.

I hate that and mine usually last for days.
-

It does help though I never eat that much in one sitting.
-

Let it grow.

Congrats on finding your caffeine free diet coke.
-
I have been craving Pepsi but there is no way my stomach can tolerate it.
-
I am hungry from not eating much today but the hunger pains hurt less than my usual stomach pain after eating a good meal. I have been proud of myself for dealing with the pain and not losing weight. I did such a good job I actually gained a few pounds. Yay, now I can ease up on food for a bit.

Every 80 seconds, someone in the United States dies from CoVid-19. And the President says it is all going away.
-
Can we vote on who we want to die 80 seconds from now?
-
BK, the secret project sounds wonderful.
-
I am amazed by your abilities!
-
Wow, just when you thought the world was a totally negative place, something happens to change your mind. I just heard that Israel is sending emergency aid to Beirut. That made me smile.
-
They offered right away but I hadn't heard it was accepted.

Israel does this around the world after major events.

Israel does this around the world after major events.
I realize that, Jane, but could you imagine two bigger enemies? It just made me feel good.

Awww. :)

Hello, George.
-
Israel does this around the world after major events.
I realize that, Jane, but could you imagine two bigger enemies? It just made me feel good.
I know. I guess my point is Israel offers help to all countries, including enemies. It would be wonderful if something good comes out of this.
