I do have another one. I was put in charge of driving a pick up truck full of firewood from the purchase place to home.
I did not realize that having a ton or so of payload made it more difficult to stop your vehicle. I found out. Fortunately no one was in front of me at the stop light.
DR TCB, if your heart is telling you to bring Sunday home and give her a happy life for her last couple of years, you should do it.
I like DR JOHN G's list......
Last night I kept switching between CNN and New York PBS for the convention, and I'm quite angry: I never saw Hillary's or Gaby Giffords' appearances. Instead I got a lot of commentators, and it really pisses me off. What is it with these stations? I wept when President Obama spoke. I miss him.
I have just received word that my one-woman play, MAUREEN O'HARA, is now available in both paperback and Kindle editions.
Enjoy!

I hereby announce my auspicious re-entry into the world of ... wait, what was it called? Oh, live performance!
The beautiful Warner Theatre (where a couple of vixwomen came to see Ragtime) is presenting a one-night revival of its 2015 production of Assassins with most of their original cast. My friend Dan will be MD'ing again and I will be playing again, but we won't have the full orchestra this time, just 2 keys, bass, and drums.
It's a benefit for the theatre which sorely needs a benefit, and no one gets paid. The real kicker is the venue -- one of the remaining drive-in theaters in that area.

Another TRUCK story - I left home at 4:30 a.m. in the dark to drive to work in a pick up truck.
When I got to work twenty minutes later - the camper shell on the back of the truck was nowhere to be seen.
I called home and a drive was taken along the route, but the shell was never found. I though maybe it had been stolen in the night and I didn't notice in the dark.....but I can't remember.....

Yes, the goodbyes are devastating. But don't forget the years of joy you have before that.
This will be most interesting, to say the least.

I was watching the coverage on YouTube (I forget whose channel) and I saw the entire event. They all gave great speeches, but Obama's was especially good.
Thursday afternoon greetings! Sorry to have been E & T yesterday. While I was putting the finishing touches on the dessert we took to Richard's brother's for dinner, I had a brainstorm for a paper-craft item to take to my sister-in-law. I finished that just in time to spruce myself up before we had to leave for Cincinnati. We had a delightful, socially-distant dinner on their beautiful deck and listened to Barack Obama and Kamala Harris on the car radio on the way home.

DR Elmore, have you tried C-Span?

On a happier note, today is my dad's 82nd birthday! I think my mom is going to take him to the local casino, then the family will all celebrate together on Saturday. :)

Oooooooh yes, the heavier the load the longer the stopping distance

Happy 82nd birthday to your father.
Happy birthday to George's father.
Happy birthday, Georges father!
Wow! Biden gave an incredible speech! I can't wait to see what Trump comes up with...there's definitely no way that it'll be as good or as intelligent. ::)
;)
I just listened to the most wonderful music:
Rain!
Our first rain of the summer. It has probably been four or five months since we've had rain.
Senator Tammy Duckworth's speech was really good!

I appear to be alone here.
Tomorrow, Sharry and I are meeting for lunch.

I enjoyed it. Again Chris Christie embarrassed himself by opening his fat, vacuous mouth.
Thanks, Tom!Happy Birthday to George’s father.
