Title: THE SOUND OF TWO PIANOS

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the sound of two notes, and now it is time for you to post until the two cows come home.

I think I am in serious trouble, and I am uncertain how to proceed. My right leg does not want to support me, bs nt life is going to hell rapidly.  My fifth floor neighbor Ann brought up an Amazon carton and envelope for me yesterday sfternoon, and my third floor neighbor Roberta said she would pick up my mail this afternoon.  Problem is, I don't want to become reliant on them or make them feel I'm taking advantange of them.

I must deal as well with the logistics of getting around the apartment, and I'm not sure I can get into the bathtub which is really unsettling.  I am rather depressed at the moment.

I honestly cannot tell if it's for hip or knee replacement.  I have noticed one very crucial thing: I believe everything is affected by the humidity, and yesterday was a humid day.  The humidity in Manhattan is currently 56%, and I am moving slightly better than yesterday, when I was near suicidal.

It's been a humid week with all the rain, and I suspect that is a major source of irritation.  It was 85% yesterday.

I began kitty cleanup around 8:30 and I've washed their bowls. cleaned the litter, gobne over the food areas with the dustbuster.  Last night, trying to negotiate the walker in a tight spot in the apartment, I managed to catch the leg of the walker in the cats' dry food dish, and I ended up with chicken-turney dry Meow Mix all over the floor.  It was a mess.

I'm going to make the bed, then get some breakfast, take my meds, and lie down with the cats.

I enjoy the burgers from O'Charley's and Applebees.....

My favorite fast food burger is the Baconator from Wendy's.....

I don't like Mustard AND Ketchup.....so I usually do tomatoes instead.....maybe a smush of mayo with a few dill pickles and lettuce......

I also watched part of the T.A.M.I. Show....my favorite part is that it was recorded LIVE!!!!

Then I watched Let The Good Times Roll and Elvis - That's the Way It Is.

THEN I tried my OnDEMAND and lo and behold, it was working.  It is still working this morning.  So if I DO get a return call, I will have good news for them......

DR elmore I read that sometimes after a hip replacement the knee doesn't seem as bad.  If it still needs replacing it is best to do the hip first.  Do you have an estimated date when your hip can be replaced?

Starting Porgy and Bess. I have never seen the show before, except a visually lousy bootleg of the Audra McDonsld/Norm Lewis version.

I never saw the Broadway one at all, and that's on purpose.

Last night I watched the opening scene of the MET one, and I wasn't as put off as I'd expected to be. Without dropping spoilers... yes, there are subtle changes in how the scene is portrayed, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Yet. There's plenty of opportunity for that in all the coming scenes, so I shall proceed cautiously, peeking through my fingers. I'll probably take in the next couple of scenes late tonight, then more tomorrow.

Back from a drive.  Every single place on Ventura Blvd. that has outdoor dining is JAMMED.  And if those tables are six-feet apart I'll eat my hat.  Does anyone still wear a hat?  And how about the tables of from four to six - not all those  people are related, no one is masked and they're hardly six-feet apart.  And yet the numbers are going down.  I do wonder if the numbers people will say there was a spike this weekend - I wouldn't put it past them, frankly, just to keep that fear going.

I'm pleased to see all the outdoor dining, as I REALLY want to see small businesses survive. I agree it's not being done as safely as it should be, but that's partly the patrons' fault, from what I've seen.

I think that people are getting really tired, really frustrated with the lockdown and that's overriding the caution they may have once felt.

At this point I have to think that many, many of us have been exposed to some degree and may have developed some antibodies. Unless we're all tested it's really hard to say. If my theory is correct, the case numbers may not rise even though people are not being as compliant. Just a theory. Myself, I'm still being cautious.

It takes a long time when the temps are extreme outside and you let it get hot inside before turning the air on.

When I decided on the September 13 date for our tenth anniversary show, there was exactly ONE other even that day and that was a paid thing so not of worry to me.  In the last WEEK, September 13 has, apparently, become the day everyone must do their event.  I have never seen such stupidity in all my life, I mean, it's beyond stupidity.  There are at least SIX major events now, like there aren't any OTHER days of the damn week?  Not Tuesday?  Not Friday or Saturday?  It HAS to be Sunday and HAS to be the 13th.  I am nauseated by these people, NAUSEATED.  I think for the next Kritzerland I will simply not announce the date.  Then I'll let everyone do the pile on and if I have to adjust I will adjust at the last minute.

Got it down to 76, turned the air off an hour ago, currently 79.  Five and a half hours to go from 81 to 76, one hour to go from 76 to 79.  Outrageous and rather stupid.  We need this to be done.  I know there's another day of it tomorrow and then hopefully some sanity will return.

I've had the air on since three o'clock - it was eighty-one in here at that time.  Five hours later, it's 77 - how can it take that long to cool off this house and I really want it down to seventy-five.

Well, when it is 111 degrees outside of your house, it is going to take a long time to cool off.

Maybe they will say it happened, because it did.

George, I like the Kona Supply Co. site.  Unfortunately I didn't see size options for masks.

I didn't either.  I guess if you wanted, you could get them altered to fit, but that would cost...and you'd have to find someone to do it.  Be easier to find the fabric you liked and just make them yourself. :-\

Thanks, Jane!  We ALL make it a great place to hang out! :D

George, I am sorry you have gained some of your weight back.  I know how hard it is to lose these days, however, I worry about the weight combined with diabetes if you get the virus.  Please be very careful.

Thanks again, Jane.  I think I've been careful about both issues.

I enjoyed DR George's fashion show.  I also like the mix of mask & shirt fabric as well as the matching ones.

Thanks number 3!!

I love George's shirts and masks. Thanks for letting us know about your supplier. Now I must decide which ones I want most. How did you learn about them?

Thanks, Jeanne!  Narrowing down the choices was a problem for me, too.  I think I found it from an ad on either FB or Twitter.

Larry, if you don’t feel any better by Tuesday morning, you need to get in to see a doctor ASAP!!

If you can’t get into a doctor, go to the emergency room.

Chick-fil-A is also opening a place.  Does anyone refuse to eat there?  I believe they have changed where their donations go to and now supposedly support education, homelessness and hunger.

One will be opening soon(ish?) in the Hawk's Prairie area of Lacey, right off the freeway.  That's the first time one has been built in the area.  I've never been to one before and don't specifically plan to go to this one.

We have one here on South Hill and I finally tried it  They have grilled chicken nuggets (no breading) that are out of this world.

I could not fall asleep last night.  Finally at around 4:40, I realized that I was in pain.  I took a pill and that did the trick. I got up at almost noon (which is BK’s break of dawn).

I fell asleep on my bed with my computer on (no sound was playing) and the lights on and the back door open.  I woke up around 3:00 or so and closed the back door and did my evening ablutions, then couldn't get to sleep until probably after 6:00! :o

I watched the last of the ENCORE! episodes tonight.  This was ANNIE GET YOUR GUN.  There was one woman who was still carrying a major torch for her ex-boyfriend from high school.  She had about four meltdowns during the one hour episode.  I hope she NEVER showed this episode to her wonderful husband.  Part of her “perfect life.”

TCB, they say a lot of things that turn out not to be true.  For example, there was that lovely time they reported 2,000 new cases in a city - alarm bells and outrage posts came like clockwork.  The next day they sheepishly admitted that the number had been mis-reported and it was only around 20 new cases.  But no one ever sees the correction, a real problemo.
