Well, you've read the notes, the notes were one notes but wanted to be two notes, and now it is time for you to post until the one or two cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: IDIOLECT!
-
May Sasha and Tom have a good first night together.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Welcome to the family, Sasha. We are all thrilled to have you join us!
-
Hello, DR Freddie, and thank you.
-
Looking forward to seeing and hearing more about Sasha. Glad she is home.
-
I tried to watch the debate last night, but had to turn it off. Too crazy-making.
-
I had missed that Show Boat Criterion release. Will definitely be checking that out!
-
Someone peel me a grape.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Annabelle and I watched the debate. She was acting as correspondent for her group Cats Against Trump.
-
I thought the fly on prissy li'l Missy Pence said it all: Beelzebub is the Lord of the Flies and flies know where to find shit. He has that same "dead" voice that Tramp has, and he's so smarmy when he puts on his sincere act.
-
Pence is so proud to be a devout Christian. Isn't one of the Ten Commandments "Thou shalt not bear false witness"?
-
So far, this day is flying by like a gazelle watching the complete box set of Baywatch.
-
Sasha is home! I'm hoping for lots of photos. Annabelle, Thatch, and Stella are very excited.
-
I need to do some prep work on my score paper template before I wander down to Staples to photocopy a lot of pages. I've also got to write an introduction to bring the singer on.
-
I don't think I have ever seen a Joel McCrae film. I confuse him with Randolph Scott.
-
George Sanders
All About Eve
Village of the Damned
Call Me Madam
The Ghost and Mrs Muir
-
T.O.D.
Joel McCrea
FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT
RIDE THE HIGH COUNTRY
George Sanders
ALL ABOUT EVE
-
I think we had an IDIOLECT in 2016.....
-
Idea vibes for MR BK.....both sound very exciting!
-
I watched about 15 minutes of the debate. It doesn't really matter in my case, since my vote has already been cast [and has been tracked to delivery].
I have to say that Kamala has a kind of valley speak/vocal fry that I never noticed before - but was irritating for me to listen to - not her message, her delivery....but that's okay.
I wasn't around for the fly landing.
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD:
Joel McCrea is a favorite:
Come and Get It
Foreign Correspondent
Ride the High Country
Stars In My Crown
The More The Merrier
Dead End
The Most Dangerous Game
George Sanders:
All About Eve
Son of Fury
A Shot In the Dark
In Search of the Castaways
Village of the Damned
That Certain Feeling
Call Me Madam
The Picture of Dorian Gray
Some of the "Saint" movies
I like both of these actors a lot.
-
I like FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT a lot.....my favorite line is the list of tasks that Sanders gives to Robert Benchley ending with:
"And cancel my rhumba lesson."
And of course Mrs. Odets from "My Little Margie" climbing around on the wing of an airplane.....
-
I watched a few minutes, which sadly did not include the fly.
-
I watched the whole thing and never noticed the fly. It must habe occurred while I was brushing A & T.
-
I’ve seen Joel McCrea in any number of films - probably westerns, for the most part - but I don’t have any particular favorites.
George Sanders is a different story.
Rebecca
The Picture of Dorian Gray
All About Eve
In Search of the Castaways
Village of the Damned
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
-
I finished kitty cleanup, made the bed, and had to call a grocery order that I forgot to make yesterday since I had nothing for breakfast. While I waited on the delivery I did a third revision of the book's opening chapter, which has been problematic.
-
WELCOME HOME, SASHA!
Can’t wait to see some photographic evidence!
-
Good Morning - I have nothing to report, I've signed my lease - I'll have to sell my stripper pole as they are not allowed in my new complex, it says so in the lease. I'd like to know the story as to why that clause had to be there in the first place.
The kids have a 4-day weekend, we only have a 3-day weekend as the teachers have a Professional Development Day tomorrow. To be honest, I don't remember what its about, but we can work from home tomorrow and attend. That's always a plus.
-
Sounds like there were some entertaining residents in your new complex DR MATTHEW.
-
Liza would call her SHASHA......

I am not sure about "valley speak" and don't know what "vocal fry" means, yet I also find her voice somewhat irritating to listen to.

Please forgive me for my lack of sympathy as I am laughing hysterically that you have to sell your stripper's pole.

;D
-
I am shocked Sullivan's Travels has not been mentioned as a favorite Joel McCrea film.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
I think we had an IDIOLECT in 2016.....
Bullseye.
-
Joel McCrea is great in just about anything, especially The Palm Beach Story, Sullivan’s Travels and Foreign Correspondent.
George Sanders
All About Eve
Village of the Damned
Call Me Madam

So, after watching the documentary on Streit's several days ago, I had a hankering for matzah, so I obtained some egg matzah. The box says that during Passover, the only people allowed to eat egg matzah, as opposed to regular matzah, are the infirm, the aged, or children. Although it is not currently Passover, I think I check some of those boxes.
-
First night at home!
-
Aww. Welcome home, Sasha.
-
Leonard hid under the bed his first night home.
Of course, he was brought inside from my backyard, so I'm sure everything was overwhelming for him. He was just a baby.
-
I don't think I have ever seen a Joel McCrae film. I confuse him with Randolph Scott.
Sometimes when I hear the name Joel McCrae, I think of Joel Grey. ::)
;D
-
And most times I hear the name George Sanders, I first think of Lionel Stander. :o
:))

First night at home!

So cute!!
-
First night at home!
She's beautiful, but she looks bigger than I expected. What's her weight?
-
When I brought Annabelle home, it was around 3:00. I let her out of her carrier and she immediately ran under my bed and hid. I ignored her abd played on the computer. I could see her exploring out of the corner of my eye, but I ignored her. Around 5:00 I called "here kitty kitty kitty!" and she came to me. I had to run out and buy some Fancy Feast, and after she ate, she wouldn't leave my side for the rest of the night.
-
Sasha is adorable! Love those white legs.
-
My boss's cat got out a few weeks ago. After a few weeks of searching and despair, she got a new kitten a day or so ago.
Then miraculously, the original cat came back last night. So now she has two!
-
Welcome home Sasha!
-
Sasha, you know this already, but you’re beautiful.
-
Got a new boss today. She’s driven. She’s excellent. I’ve worked alongside her for eight years. And I’m happy for her and us.
-

That's interesting. I suppose they mean regular Passover Matzos vs the rest of the year. I don't recall egg matzos sold at Passover. I will have to look next year.
-
Sasha is beautiful. I love her markings. DR TCB did she come with the name or did you give it to her?
-

Happy news. Are the two getting along?

What a relief. I am very happy for you.

Today we took a walk in the cemetery. We saw bones, blood, and bliss.

That was a joke, of course. I did text the manager about it, and she had a good laugh as well.

Page 3 stripper pole dance
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine and a half hours of sleep interrupted several times by the doorbell, which I paid no attention to since it's packages for the guy in the back house.
-
Are the two getting along?
Not yet. 8)
-
Joel McCrea has appeared in a large number of classic films and been perfect in everyone of 'em - like Gary Cooper, a real everyman. Jane's right - nobody mentioned Sullivan's Travels, one of Preston Sturges' greats and The Palm Beach Story, too. Also great in The More the Merrier, Foreign Correspondent, Ride the High Country, Wichita, Start in my Crown, These Three (the first film of The Children's Hour), Howard Hawks' Come and Get It, Dead End, and on and on - I'm surprised that someone hasn't seen at least one of these.
-
And I’m happy for her and us.
So great when good things happen to good people!
-
Wow, TCB. She looks right at home. Why, you'd almost think this cat was meant to live there. :)
-
DR JohnG, good news on the employment front!
-
I've seen a number of those and I even have several of them here. But except for Foreign Correspondent, it's been a long since I've watched some of those others.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Sasha is beautiful!
-
TOD: The only one I've seen for sure is "The Palm Beach Story." I actually started to watch "These Three" the other day but haven't finished it.

I don't remember Stars in My Crown. Maybe I should watch it.

Congrats to you and your new boss, John!

Thanks very much, DR Jane!

Then miraculously, the original cat came back last night. So now she has two!
It took Stella about a week or more to adapt to Thatch and Annabelle.
-
Shasha is a doll! I love her markings, too!
-
How could I forget THE PALM BEACH STORY? Oh my goodness.....
-
"Did you see how much of a tip I gave the cab driver?"
"I didn't see it, but from the look on his face, I think it was a dime."
-
SULLIVAN'S TRAVELS I haven't seen for a long time.....maybe I should see it again.....I do like that one of the films he didn't want to direct was "Ants In Their Plants of 1940"......which of course I always heard as "Ants In Their Pants of 1940".....
-
DR JANE, I loved STARS IN MY CROWN.....for years I thought it was a Fredric March film.....but its' not!
I agree with MR BK that Mr Joel McCrea had a great quality onscreen and was at home in drama or comedy.....
-
Of course COME AND GET IT with Miss Frances Farmer is a particular favorite of mine.
-
They made a beautiful screen couple.....and I think he is her second most handsome leading man.....Tyrone Power is the most handsome.....although Cary Grant is no slouch either.

Packages picked up, hot dogs eaten. Instead of red cabbage and cheese, this time I did two with chile, cheese, and onions. Bought a can of chili, no beans, used only about a third of the can, which is under 140 calories, if that, so very calorie friendly and super duper good.
-
And very filling.
-
Still haven't put gas in the motor car - maybe tonight or tomorrow but I still have a bit less than a quarter of a tank. I've gone a little over four weeks this time.
-
$1.82 at Costco and BJ’s.

$1.59 at Costco here. $1.64 at the gas stations.

Here in Tumwater, Washington, the Costco price is $2.49. :-\

Well, I'm off. My sister wants me to come over and help her and her daughter take the canopy cloth that covers the gazebo that she has in her back yard. It won't be difficult at all, so that's good. And she has some leftover pizza, so that's even better!
Be back later.
-
Must be nice to have gas that cheap - here it's still 3.40 at my nearby station, and maybe 3.30 at the station in Studio City. Sickening.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Starting to watch Speak. It's very faithful to the novel in the first third. That's making it very uncomfortable. And very effective.
-
Hi guys
-
Welcome home Freddie
-
Continued healing vibes to Singdaw
-
Welcome to the beautiful Sasha
-
The election cycle is now affecting my dreams
-
I don’t usually remember my dreams but I had the same dream just before waking up the past two days running
-
I am visiting a Walmart in which a large group of crazed loonies waving flags and guns are refusing to wear masks
-
I react badly and behave badly (in my dream)
-
I woke up both days disturbed by my dream behavior
-
In other news
-
I watched the entire debate
-
Yesterday was a beautiful morning
-
So I walked to work
-
Then I walked back and forth at lunch time
-
Unfortunately a few minutes before the day ended the skies opened
-
Fortunately one of my coworkers offered me a ride
-
I’ve been calorie counting and reducing intake and changing the foods I eat
-
The first few days were very hard but now my I think my stomach has adjusted and I’m not feeling the hunger pangs
-
And I lost 5 lbs so that cheered me
-
Just another 55 to go....
-
I hope we’ll get more Sasha pictures
-
I pm happy to see she’s settling in so well
-
My friend recentlybegan volunteering at a local pet rescue group
-
She took a cat in to foster that had been caught in an animal trap and lost a foreleg as a result
-
She posted that she was a “fostering failure”
-
I was concerned until I realized she meant that she adopted the cat because she couldn’t bear to give it back
-
She calls the cat Ruthie
-
Well looks there page 5
-
Alright enough blather from the likes of me
-
Goodnight all
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Welcome to new DK Sasha, you pretty thing!
-
I, too, am interested in hearing more about her.
-
Congrats to Vixmom on her minus 5.
The "Covid 15" is apparently quite common. One trend I don't wish to follow.
-
My body seems to think it must emulate BK's poor sleeping patterns. I'm telling it no! I'll try to go to bed early tonight, not that that's a guarantee of anything.
-
I have no news.
Good night.
-
I'm more of a covid-25.
-
I'm in need of a nap for eight hours or so.
-
Good night, all.
-
Back from putting the mail-in ballot in an official drop-off box, so that's done, and then put gas in the motor car, so that's done.
-

Well, it was too dark to take down the canopy, so I'll go over during my lunch and we'll do it then.
-
And I lost 5 lbs so that cheered me
Congrats, Vixmom!
-
I'm more of a covid-25.
Yup...I'm there too, but not just from the Covid stay-at-home era. ::)
-
I am visiting a Walmart in which a large group of crazed loonies waving flags and guns are refusing to wear masks
I would call that a covid dream.
-
She posted that she was a “fostering failure”
💜
-
I was concerned until I realized she meant that she adopted the cat because she couldn’t bear to give it back
I know a number of people with foster failures. :)
-
DR Vixmom I am very proud of your efforts to become healthier and that you walked to work. Congrats on the 1st five pounds.
-

Good luck.

Good night, Tom.

Hi, Tom and Jane.
Hi George.
-
Sorry, sorry.....! I forgot to say thank you for all the nice comments about my new little girl.
-
Hello, Jane.
Hi Tom.
-
How was your day with Sasha?
-
Well, Jane, I need to get to sleep. 8)
Good night, and have a good day, all!
