Well, you've read the notes, the notes gained and hour and a new month, and now it is time for you to post until the gained an hour and a brand new month cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PREVAIL!
-
Today is All Saints' Day (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Saints%27_Day).
-
Just had to share.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Reset the two clocks that needed it.
-
It's so early.
-
Listening to Szell Brahms third - already had these on SACD but this mastering is also excellent.
-
I looked for the Samuel Barber documentary on Amazon and found it. Amazon is also offering me a classic all-purpose hydraulic recline barber chair.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I was wide awake at 4:59 with another hour to go before we reached 6:00. Stella was very antsy since breakfast was off schedule, and Thatch spent some time trying to open bags of cat treats. Annabelle has another cold, so I had to wipe her nose and feed her by hand. I need to increase her Lysine intake.
-
I need to pay the bills I intended to pay yesterday, and tidy up. I have one bathroom clock to turn back, and I need the ladder for that. The apartment remains hotter than hell, and I am not amused.
-
I had dreams I do not remember now, although I did tell one of them to Thatch around 1:00 this morning. The Court Jester song "Life Could Not Better Be" has been running through my head like a dervish every night for the past week.
-
DR Laura, your trick or treat night sounds really delightful.
-
Annabelle wanted to watch a scary movie, but Saturday night is Midsomer Murders night, and she has to understand that. And, besides, scary movies frighten Thatch. I wouldn't mind watching Sleepy Hollow again.
-
I also enjoyed DR Laura's tales of Halloween.
-
It clouded over here, so did not get a glimpse of the Blue Moon.
-
This was the scariest thing I could think of for Halloween:
-
Good morning, all.
-
I reset the stove and microwave clocks and my clock radio last night, and I must do the car's clock and the little one in the bathroom today.
It was disconcerting to see daylight at an earlier hour this morning.
And Lord knows, this time change is the worst for cat owners. Thankfully, the time is nigh and I can execute my parental duty.
-
I give you...
Ruth Vader Ginsburg.
-
The car clocks. I always forget those. And with the cars hardly being used these days, doubly so.
-
Good morning.
-
Do we really need another hour of 2020?
-
I was awakened by a leg cramp.
-
JOE BIDEN WINS.....so sayeth the license plate!
-
Hello, November!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I looked for the Samuel Barber documentary on Amazon and found it. Amazon is also offering me a classic all-purpose hydraulic recline barber chair.
In case you want to play Sweeney Todd at home.
-
Onward
-
Two!
-
I guess I should check out the PREVAIL package before I go skiing.
-
Oof.
-
Good morning!
-
One of my favorite Halloween costumes....this photo showed up online yesterday......the Valet of the Dolls....

-
The bathroom clock is back on the wall, and I did not break my neck on the ladder. I'm very grateful.
-
I was originally going as an embarrassed manservant - How Green Was My Valet? - but that seemed too hard, and this was the result.
-
On Tuesday I am doing an oral history for the New York City Gay Men's Chorus via Zoom, so I've been looking over the questionaire and realizing how much I've forgotten.
-
DR Jrand70: you funny! 8)
-
Sounds fascinating, DR elmore3003.
-
I was originally going as an embarrassed manservant - How Green Was My Valet? - but that seemed too hard, and this was the result.
I like Valet of the Dolls.

I agree.

DR singdaw, you might find these videos of James Bowen and Bob interesting. I love the Winter Wonderland.

So in the notes BK says “And it is my fervent hope and prayer that February will be a month filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful.”
Yes but what about November, December and January?
-
Well my clock in the car will finally be right again.
-
I never change it, but last year when I brought the car in for a service the mechanic took it upon himself to reset it. I’ve been adding an hour mentally ever since.
-
JBW is one of Vixdad’s nickname for me
-
This was the scariest thing I could think of for Halloween:
Well it scared the heck out of me
-
I still need to reset one clock and the car clock, though I, like Vixmom, often ignore the car clock.
-
Whatever level of OCD I might have is too great to ignore the car clock.
-
This was the scariest thing I could think of for Halloween:
;D
-
The car clocks. I always forget those. And with the cars hardly being used these days, doubly so.
One year I went the entire season without changing my clock.
-
I was awakened by a leg cramp.
I hate that. I had a foot cramp for about three weeks that is finally much better. It wasn't a solid cramp the entire time just ached a bit in-between the violent cramps.

:))
You look rather dashing even holding a doll.
-
Bruce I pray you are right about the license plate prediction.

Hmmm?

:)
-
Enjoying Fannie Flagg's latest, The Wonder Boy of Whistle Stop. It's a sequel of sorts to Fried Green Tomatoes.
-
Makes me want to watch the movie of Fried Green again. It's been a few years since I've seen it. Always enjoyed that one.
-
Onward.
-
Three!
-
Hello, 0 guests!
-
Thanks for the videos, DR elmore3003. I will take a gander after today's work shift ends.
-
There is much laughter and merriment today at HHW.
-
And legs. Never forget the legs.
-
DR John I have a question for you. Is your local news downplaying, at least in my opinion, voter suppression?
-
DR John I have a question for you. Is your local news downplaying, at least in my opinion, voter suppression?
I don’t watch TV, Jane, so I don’t really know.
-
The stations’ home pages only have a story about the tRumpsters who tried to force the Biden bus off the road.

What about the legal ballots in Harris County that Republicans have asked to be thrown out?

Saw a story that a state court has overruled the GOP on that.

The DVD player is working again. Watching The Booksellers now. Loving it.

I'm up, I'm up - eight and a half hours of sleep.
-
I know I initially wrote February but I rememberer laughing and then changing it. Maybe I did it twice.
-
Notes have been fixed.
-
I cannot post for twenty-four hours because I called a Trump troll a troll moron. Since when is either troll or moron a problem? I'm guessing the troll reported me and I think it's the second time because of the word moron. I have been called so much worse.

Welcome to jail, BK! They let you off easy.

You can post here.

The Booksellers is fun, but it has worn out its welcome. It needs to have 10-15 minutes cut.

I saw this on Huffington Post. Fantastic news.

Tonight we are watching this BBC production. I've always loved the film version of the play, and I don't know if this is the play or a new dramatization.
-
Good Afternoon - home from church, un-eventful. Going to go for a short bike ride and then come home, shower, and empty a closet. I think that will help my "gotta pack" attitude which is still not where it should be. Considering a lot of the stuff in the closet is going in the trash, it should be therapeutic as well.
-
We have our weekly CAROL meeting in about 45 minutes.
Those scenes that need to be RE-recorded will be revealed to us. I am hoping Mr Lamb and Mr Fezziwig are in the can - but I am not optimistic.
Watching Miss Doris Day & Mr Stephen Boyd in JUMBO.
-
What about the legal ballots in Harris County that Republicans have asked to be thrown out?
Saw a story that a state court has overruled the GOP on that.
Thank goodness.

I hear you. I've been singularly uninspired to finish a few chores I've got.
-
I did manage to water the plants, which were very happy with me. The weather outside is gorgeous. But after ushering two nights in a row, I have no desire to go outside.
-
I need to go to the grocery, but I'm not. I'll eat what I've got cooked.

Onward ...

I made a perfectly acceptable soup today using desi beans (young, green garbanzos), and I don't want perfectly acceptable today.

Have you now blocked the person as not to be reported again?

Trashing and packing vibes.

I have never called anyone names on FB.
-
Back from picking up packages, made tacos and ate three - very good. No more than 600 calories all in. So, if I'm hungry later I can another two or make one burrito with meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and salsa.
-
Listening to more Szell Mozart piano concertos - these two are pretty attractive actually.
-
I have never called anyone names on FB.
Sounds like you're missing out on all the fun. :)
-
My sister Brigitte has finally joined Facebook. I'm thinking of going back after the election. But I don't know if I should create a new profile that's much, much smaller. Just family and only select friends. Maybe less than 50 instead of the 950 I have now.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
Elmore, Kitten Academy has a new mom cat.

I have a friend who went off of FB but kept in touch with people using Messenger. She is now back on FB using a different name and only has 27 friends.

JBW is one of Vixdad’s nickname for me
Hmmm?
It’s short for “Joe Blow Wife” usually used when I do something silly, such as tonight when I went out in the rain to go shopping and left my headlights on and let my cars battery go flat.
-
Thank goodness for AAA
-
Started watching By the Grace of God. It's infuriating to watch the church protect a pedophile priest. I want to scream at the screen. Very effective. But I have to pause it every so often.

:o
How old is your car? I thought all newer cars have headlights that go on and off as needed.
-
Thank goodness for AAA
Yes, not that we have it.

It’s a 2010 and dies not have that feature
-
Sorry about that. I rented a car once that didn't have that feature and also let the battery die. I rented a car once that had the feature, only it didn't work and my lights didn't go on at night. Fortunately it was Daylight Saving time. Since I was in LA because my father was in the hospital I made sure to be back at his place, where I was taking care of his cats, before it got dark.
-
Yeah I was able to get a flu shot appointment next Tuesday at the place 5 minutes from me. I have been checking for cancellations.
-
Congrats!
-
Yeah I was able to get a flu shot appointment next Tuesday at the place 5 minutes from me. I have been checking for cancellations.
Great news. I hope your arm isn't sore.
-
By the Grace of God is an intense, infuriating and ultimately effective film. No easy answers for the stories of the three men who were abused when they were children. The facts that it's based on a true story and that some of the enablers remain unpunished are what is upsetting.
-
In searching for the Samuel Barber documentary on Amazon Prime, I also found Itzhak, about violinist Itzhak Perlman, which we watched tonight. Highly recommended.
-
I just loved The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow and have been looking forward to reading her latest book, The Once and Future Witches. I was even more excited when I saw it was nominated for a Goodreads best fantasy book of 2020.
I am not enjoying the book. I hate when that happens.
-
The troll moron that I called a troll moron admitted in that thread that he'd reported me. So, now they are censoring words like moron - beware you cannot call anyone a moron on Facebook. I'm seriously thinking of finding a class action pro bono attorney to sue the shit out of them. I have been called so much worse than a troll moron and have even reported two people because they threatened me - their posts were not taken down nor were they punished. It's time to make Facebook pay for what they're doing and they will pay because what they're doing is clearly a violation of free speech. We are allowed in this country to call people whatever we like. I blocked him but will respond in that thread tomorrow even though everyone came down on him for reporting the moron comment. I don't know exactly at what time I was given the restriction, but I'm sure it will be over by morning.
-
I futzed and finessed all afternoon on project one, but the nice thing was other than adding two minor things and moving one thing around, I didn't do much of anything but correct typos and stuff. I really was happy with what I read.
-

The fact you have been ignored after reporting people for threatening you is serious. Is there a way to write them about this? As for you calling someone a moron I think they are reacting to all of the name calling, and that is why it was only a 24 hour hold. Try reporting the person who reported you.
-
I'm going to report him and the entire thread - which they should have read in its entirety for context. There's no way to actually converse with Facebook - you can report but not write anything. They've got to be held accountable for this BS.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I thought DR Laura's way of doing Halloween was an excellent one. And those Halloween cookies really look good.
-
Vixmom, from last night:
Did I mention I don’t speak Getman?
--------------------------------------------
Don't worry, Vixmom. I don't know of a single person who does.
-
Well my clock in the car will finally be right again.
Yours, too?
A few weeks ago the very nice owner of the garage where I take my car told me to remind him next time I bring the car in and he'd reset my car clock. But his phone rang just then and I wasn't able to explain that as soon as the time changed it'd be correct again. And it is now.
-
In searching for the Samuel Barber documentary on Amazon Prime, I also found Itzhak, about violinist Itzhak Perlman, which we watched tonight. Highly recommended.
Itzhak was a really good documentary.
-
JBW is one of Vixdad’s nickname for me
Methinks the Vixfam may have a wide collection of interesting alternate names.
-
The Facebook ban won't affect the Kritzerland, correct? (I obviously have my priorities.)
-
Good night, all.

I suspect their software is geared to name-calling and not threats. And perhaps serious misinformation.
-
I watched MARNIE today. I'd seen it before, but Bruce's discussion of it made me want to see it again.
-
Good night.
-
Tried to watch a movie, but too many interruptions so I'll watch tomorrow night.
-
Dvorak Slavonic Dances in stereo from Szell. Delightful. We're done with Mozart and Beethoven for about eight more discs.
-
Well, I inadvertently posted on Facebook because I forgot I couldn't - I don't think they actually banned me at all - it's hardly been twenty-four hours and I posted just fine.
-

Break Legs, Larry!
-
Well my clock in the car will finally be right again.
So will my downstairs clock! It's got stuff in front of it on the floor ::) and I haven't bothered to get that out of the way to reset my clock. Now, I won't have to until next year...again!
-
Bruce I pray you are right about the license plate prediction.
I FINALLY just got that! I certainly hope so, too!!

The stations’ home pages only have a story about the tRumpsters who tried to force the Biden bus off the road.
I saw reports about that. WHF?? :o >:( Today while I was out driving, I saw seven, count 'em SEVEN, vehicles with both the big Trump flags and American flags! I've NEVER seen any around here before! All of a sudden on one day, I see seven!

I like the score to both the musical version, Yours, Anne (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Yours-Anne-1985-Original-Off-Broadway-Cast/2219/), and the rewritten song cycle, I Am Anne Frank (http://castalbums.org/recordings/I-Am-Anne-Frank-1996-Studio-Cast/1037/).

What about the legal ballots in Harris County that Republicans have asked to be thrown out?
Saw a story that a state court has overruled the GOP on that.
Finally, saner heads are prevailing...so far.
-

My niece got a flu shot recently and her arm hurt for a couple of days. I have a doctor's appointment this coming Friday, so I'll probably get a flu shot then.

There was a huge gathering of Pro-America (Trump) supporters down in Thurston County today. Something like five hundred plus trucks.

I hope this isn’t the new version of the play that ends with the Trump supporters Nazis charging in to the attic and drag all the family away. That was the version I did a few years back, and I hated that last scene.

Maybe it was more like 5,000 vehicles. I am old, I don’t remember too good.

I need to get back to the book I am reading. Do you ever have a book or books that you just love them so much that you can go back and read them again and again. Like old friends who you are always glad to see again.
-
That is how I feel about the Charlotte MacLeod Mysteries, mostly the Sarah Kelling series.
-
Good night, George.

I need to get back to the book I am reading. Do you ever have a book or books that you just love them so much that you can go back and read them again and again. Like old friends who you are always glad to see again.
I've only reread just a few books. A couple were books that I read when I was in middle or high school The Sword of Shannara and Splinter of the Mind's Eye), and after I got my first Kindle, I just wanted to reread them, so I did. Then, I reread Good Omens because why not. :)
